Hula Hoop Girl

Dear Crafters,

Well it is nearly the end of 2016 and in a way, I am glad to see this year over and very much looking forward to a happier and healthier 2017.

Now that Christmas is over, I am now focusing on the brand new products in the Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogues available from 4th January!

Today I have the Beautiful You stamp set. When I first saw this particular image, I just knew she had to have a hula hoop swinging around!

The background was sponged using the Seasonal Decorative Masks which are currently on sale for $7.00. You get 4 masks for that price too. It’s a bargain!!!

To draw the Hula Hoop, I used the inside of the smallest Oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits using a black Sharpie pen!!!

I love these Watercolour Pencils, they make colouring super easy and you can use either the Blender Pen or AquaPainter to blend the colour. I have also added some Wink of Stella to her hat!

Hey chicky, lets shake em!

Happy Boxing Day!

Are you hitting the Boxing Day sales in town or are you staying clear of them like me, and enjoying the peace and quiet at home, stamping?!!!

Today I have a cute shaker card using the new Occasions and Sale-a-bration products available from 4th January!

I think this stamp set Hey, Chick is going to be very popular! These funny little chickens just make me smile 🙂

I love a good shaker card too, so I added some brown rice inside my shaker card. It just reminds me of chicken food lol.

To create the background, I added ink to the embossing folder before running it through the Big Shot. This gives the effect of chicken wire!

I coloured the chickens with our new Watercolour Pencils and used a Blender Pen to blend the colour. You will be totally amazed at how well it works on Whisper White card, Shimmery White card and even better, the Watercolour Paper!

And don’t forget to decorate the inside of your card too!

Dear Crafters,

Well, it’s almost Christmas…. only 2 more sleeps until Santa arrives! Who is excited?!!

Today I have my completed scrapbooking pages that I had started and shared with you back in October. You can see that post here.

I have added my photos of my girls making our gingerbread, which has become our family tradition at the beginning of December each year.

Did you also notice the mini calendar? Well, there’s a story behind that!

Each year, I purchase about 25 of these mini calendars to make Calendar Easel Cards and I always have one or two left over. So this year, I have incorporated the individual pages into my scrapbooking pages!!!!

A great idea to use them up without feeling guilty throwing them in the bin. Just circle the date the photos were taken for a quick and fun way to add a date to your page.

And here is another page, this time celebrating my daughter receiving her Green Certificate at swimming, which took over 12 months to achieve. We didn’t think we would ever see this day, so certainly a memorable moment to scrapbook!

Calendar Easel Card for JAI

Here I am with another post today… can you tell I am on holidays, and I’m loving getting my craft on!!!! lol

Today I join the challenge at Just Add Ink.

At this time of year, I love making Calendar cards. They give the recipient something to display all year long.

These Large Number framelits are the perfect addition!!!

Check out those stunning die cut flowers under the calendar, aren’t they gorgeous? These are called So Detailed Thinlits and they are brand new in the Occasions catalogue, available from 4th January. Also the background is stamped with the coordinating stamp set, So in Love.

I even added some Wink of Stella to them, not sure if you can see that in the photo.

And don’t forget to decorate the inside of your card!

Ribbon Dispenser

Today I share a gift idea that I have been making for Christmas gifts for some crafty people who will appreciate them.

I keep my ribbons on small shelving but I find they sometimes roll off and unroll and then I have ribbons everywhere! You know what I mean, right?!!!

Well, I did a search on YouTube and found this nifty idea by Linda Parker, a UK demonstrator and had to make one or two or three!!!

I have used the new Falling in Love DSP with Blushing Bride cardstock as the base. This DSP will be available on 4th January 2017.

And I love these Stitched Shapes Framelits, they give that little bit of added detail!

Today I share a great stamp set from the Sale-a-bration 2017 catalogue, Tasty Trucks. The kids are going to love this one!!!

Begin by stamping the image in Basic Black ink and let it dry.

Using the Watercolour Pencils, colour the image and blend with a Blender Pen.

I stamped the sentiment onto the Melon Mambo card before running it through the Big Shot with the Falling Petals Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Glue all the layers together!

Today I share some watercolouring with a gorgeous, must have stamp set from the Occasions 2017 catalogue, Beautiful You.

Begin by stamping the image in Basic Black ink and let it dry.

Using the AquaPainter and inks, watercolour the sky from the top, getting slightly lighter as you get to the bottom of the page.

Using the new Watercolour Pencils, colour the image and use the Blender Pen to blend the colour! These are just a fabulous product I can see myself using lots and lots!

I stamped the sentiment onto vellum and added it with Tombo glue.

I added some Wink of Stella to the umbrella.

Carousel Birthday

Today I share another gorgeous suite from the Occasions 2017 catalogue, Cupcakes and Carousels.

I love how simple this card is with just stamping directly onto the Designer Series paper, but then adding a little dimension with the cupcake tops!

Begin by stamping all the images in Black ink. Then stamp the carousel again with versamark ink onto whisper white card and adding copper embossing powder and heat setting it. This set coordinates with the Up & Away thinlits, which were used to die cut the cupcake icing. Add each one with 1/2 a dimensional.

Dragonfly Dreams

Today I share a sneak peek of some new products arriving in January 2017 from the Occasions catalogue, the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle!

I love the blues and purples in this card. I’ve used Marina Mist with Elegant Eggplant!

Below the purple die cut, I also die cut some vellum and glued it down with Tombo glue. Are you wondering why you can’t see the glue? Well, if you gently sponge it to the back of the vellum evenly, you won’t have any visibility of how you have adhered it! Same with the sentiment!

The top layer of the dragonfly was run through the Big Shot with a tan embossing mat so it didn’t cut through completely, but left the embossed look.

I also added some Wink of Stella to the body of the dragonfly some some added sparkle.
