Easter, Gift Ideas, Jan-Jun Mini Catalogue and Sale-a-bration, Stampin' Up!

It’s almost Easter… and that can only mean 1 thing, right?

It’s almost Easter and time for some chocolate treats that I packaged up for my latest class ladies who attended!

2017-2019 In Colours by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator Australia

I am using Lemon Lime Twist card stock with the Gingham Gala DSP and the cute little bunny and sentiment from the Fable Friends stamp set.

Lemon Lime Twist is one of the soon to retire In Colours and I will actually be a little sad when it goes. The other In Colours leaving soon are Powder Pink, Berry Burst, Tranquil Tide and Fresh Fig.

Anyway, for my project, I made these cute little Easter Boxes and put a little chocolate bunny inside. I mean, who doesn’t love chocolate right?! I stamped the images with Gray Granite ink and coloured it with Powder Pink Stampin’ Write Marker.

I recently bought myself a little electric mobility scooter, because I cannot drive due to my MS (although I’m working on that, learning to drive with hand controls) and saving like mad to get the car converted with a little help from my friends via Go Fund Me.

So I took my little scooter out recently all the way to the shops to see what Aldi had to offer in the way of Easter eggs, and I found these cute bunnies which fit perfectly into this little box!

Happy 5 Year Stampiversary to me!

5th anniversary celebration.png

Dear Crafters,

Today is my 5 year anniversary with Stampin’ Up! Wow, who would have thought that I would still be a demonstrator all this time?!! Certainly not me, but here I am, loving these amazing products as much as ever!

Why do I love being a Stampin’ Up demonstrator!? Here are a few reasons why:

  • the high quality of the products
  • everything coordinates; cardstock, accessories, stamps and dies. No more taking my projects to the stores to find a ribbon that matches the colours in my project!
  • Being a demonstrator, I save a minimum of 20% on every order
  • Being able to purchase products before they are released to the general public
  • Attending live events and trying new products before everyone else
  • I can order from the comfort of my home and have it delivered to my door!
  • part of the largest team in Australia, Art with Heart, who are so supportive, helpful and encouraging
  • the amazing friends I have made and continue to meet within our team and at live events
  • building a beautiful team, called Craftalicious, who I  share amazing times with
  • and most of all, sharing my love of craft with others

Well, that’s enough about me and my amazing journey so far. I hope I can continue to share it with you, or better still, join my team and it may just be the start of a whole new life for you too!

I want to share a couple of the Easter Treat Boxes that I’ve made for the kids!

Hoppy Easter: Art with Heart Blog Hop

art-with-heart-team-blog-hop-logo-currentDear Crafters,

Today I am participating in a blog hop along with the super talented ladies in the Art With Heart Team. We thought it would be fun to share some Easter projects, seeing as Easter is only about 3 weeks away!

Sale-a-bration continues, but must end on 31st March, so to earn your free item, just place a minimum $90 order – ask me how!

Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links. You have come to me from our team leader, Claire Daly!

Now let’s get started!

For my projects, I have used the Sale-a-bration stamp set, Hey Chick!

IMG_4790.JPG

Here is another little Easter Treat Basket using the Window Box thinlits dies. I adore how versatile these thinlits are for so many projects, from gift boxes to these cute little baskets which hold three hollow eggs!

Easter Treat Basket using Stampin Ups Window Box thinlits & Any Occasion stamp set by Kate Morgan Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator Australia 3D DIY Occasions 2017 Saleabration 2017

To create this one, you cut two of the box shapes and join them together, but then you only need half of the hexagon shape, so cut these in half. I also removed the tabs from either end (top and bottom of pic). Then cut a strip for the handle. Super easy to create! The sentiment is from the Saleabration, Any Occasion stamp set.

This next one is using the same idea but I die cut the stripes into the side and used those strips to create a basket weave effect.

The card uses the Circle of Spring stamp set and the coordinating Wonderful Wreath framelits dies from the Annual catalogue. To create the background,I inked up one side of the Petal Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, placed the Sahara Sand cardstock inside, closed it and rubbed over the top to create the pattern. I also sponged the edges and die cut a circle behind the wreath so the sentiment would shine through!

The Stampin’ Write Markers (Mint Macaron, Sweet Sugarplum, Flirty Flamingo & Peekaboo Peach) were used to colour the wreath for a bold and bright look!

Gift Ideas, Techniques & Tutorials

Shaving Cream Technique

Hello Crafters,

Well I am guessing you are all full to the brim with chocolate after the Easter bunny visiting you yesterday!

I wanted to share with you one more of my Easter Treat Boxes which you have all seen by now, but I have added a new technique, the Shaving Cream technique!

Yes, you heard it right, it is a messy technique, but very effective and we had so much fun playing with it.

Every piece of card is different every time you place it onto the shaving cream!

Here’s what to do:

First you start with spraying some shaving cream onto a large dinner plate, smooth it out slightly, then add a few drops of reinker. I used Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana.

Shaving Cream Technique

Then you use a skewer and slowly swirl the colours around in a circular motion until you are happy with the look.

Shaving Cream Technique

Then place your white card stock on top, press down so it is evenly coated, then lift up. Wipe off the shaving cream with some paper towel. I do this in a circular motion, in case some of the ink catches the card (you don’t want straight lines of ink through your work).

Here is a piece of A4 card stock that I cut into 4 before placing into the cream. Isn’t it a cool technique?!!!!

Shaving Cream Technique

And here it is cut up and placed onto my Easter Treat Box!!!

Easter Treat Box

The box is Strawberry Slush card stock. The clear window is punched with the 1-3/4″ circle punch with a sheet of acetate behind. A perforating tool was used to create the perforation after the patterned card was glued down. The trim around the acetate window was created with the 2-3/8″ circle punch.

I stamped the bunny, from the Baby We’ve Grown Stamp Set (Wood #133086, Clear #133089) in Strawberry Slush Ink on the off-cut circle from the window! The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments is stamped next to the bunny and a hole punched and tied onto the ribbon with some Baker’s Twine.

This time I added some Strawberry Slush ribbon to the top of the box to use as a handle!

This treat box can hold more than 150g of chocolate easter eggs (I have put in 25 eggs)!!!

JAI#204 ~ Easter Treat Box

Hello Crafters,

The minute I saw this Colour Challenge at Just Add Ink I knew straight away what I wanted to do, but it’s not a card!

As this year is passing by so quickly already, I have had to think about Easter super early. I have been watching many YouTube videos on different styles of Easter Treat Boxes, but they were either too small or not quite what I wanted, so got creating and came up with my very own style Easter Treat Box with perforated tear opening!  This uses 1 sheet of A4 cardstock for the base!!!

Easter Treat Box  Easter Treat Box

The box is Crumb Cake cardstock with Pistachio Pudding DSP from the In Colours Paper Stack. The clear window is punched with the Extra Large Oval punch with a sheet of acetate behind. A perforating tool was used to create the perforation after the DSP was glued down.

I stamped the bunny, from the Baby We’ve Grown Stamp Set (Wood #133086, Clear #133089) in Crumb Cake Ink on Pistachio Pudding cardstock and fussy cut. The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments is stamped in gold encore on Whisper White, punched with Word Window and mounted onto Crumb Cake punched from the Modern Label punch. I added some of the Gold Baker’s Twine around the bunny’s neck.

Here it is close up where you can see the acetate window!

This treat box can hold more than 150g of chocolate easter eggs (I have put in 25 eggs)!!!

A few people have asked for instructions on this or for me to make a video…. that would be a challenge in itself, but here goes, Easter Treat Box Tutorial!

Why don’t you have a go at some of the weekly challenges too on the Just Add Ink page!

Yay, I got an Honorable Mention for this at Just Add Ink.

Be sure to visit the Just Add Ink page to view the rest of the Design Team samples, they are just gorgeous!
