Birthday, Stampin' Up!

Make a Wish

Dear Crafters,

Who doesn’t love cupcakes? I know my family love them and what better way to say happy birthday, than with a cupcake!

So today I have a bright and cheery cupcake card using Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach, Whisper White.

cupcake-wish-card-using-stampin-up-sweet-cupcake-confetti-2016-by-kate-morgan-independent-demonstrator-diy-classes-in-rowville

The ‘wish’ is die cut using the Cupcake Cutout Framelits, but here’s a tip for you…

See the background card stock, emboss it first and then die cut the centre to save on card stock (see below). You will then cover it up with the Peekaboo Peach layer!!!! Adhere this to  the front of an A5 card.

cupcake-wish-card-using-stampin-up-sweet-cupcake-confetti-2016-by-kate-morgan-independent-su-demonstrator-classes-in-rowville-craft-with-kate

The icing is a 3-step stamping process using photopolymer stamps, so you can easily line them up. The first layer is So Saffron then Peekaboo Peach before the final layer of Watermelon Wonder. I also used the Clear Wink of Stella over the top for a shiny glazed effect!

Don’t forget to stamp inside your card and on the envelope!

Birthday, feminine, Mini Catalogue and Sale-a-bration (SAB), Stampin' Up!

Delicate Lace

Dear Crafters,

Well as you know, I attended the Stampin’ Up! OnStage Live event in Brisbane 2 weeks ago and my team had a blast of a time! It was a time where we receive a copy of the brand new Occasions catalogue and Saleabration brochure. Woohoo!

As a demonstrator who attends these live events, we also get to pre-purchase some of the new products before anyone else. Well, my order arrived this week and I had to have a little play.

Are you ready to see what I made?

I have used Pink Pirouette, Sahara Sand and Very Vanilla. I stamped the background using the brand new Delicate Details stamp set, a Saleabration item. This means that when you purchase product to the value of $90, you can choose this stamp set for FREE!

Check out these new Stitched Shapes Framelits which are also new. These are a pre-released and will definitely be in the next Annual catalogue. So exciting, I just adore them!

This sentiment is from the Balloon Adventures stamp set, also from the new Occasions 2017 catalogue. I tied a bow with silver metallic thread and placed a pearl in the centre.

Christmas, Gift Ideas, Holiday Catalogue, Stampin' Up!

Handbag Gift Bag

Dear Crafters,

On Monday I shared a fancy fold card using the delightful, Candy Cane Lane DSP and Cookie Cutter Christmas Bundle.

Today, I have a Handbag made purely from paper to place that lovely card into, in the same Designer Series Paper!

gift-handbag-using-stampin-ups-candy-cane-lane-dsp-holiday-catalogue-2016-by-kate-morgan-independent-demonstrator-classes-in-rowville

and here you can see the card inside!

gift-handbag-using-stampin-up-candy-cane-lane-dsp-holiday-catalogue-2016-by-kate-morgan-independent-demonstrator-classes-in-rowville

How did I create this bag?  Start by making the base using a piece of cardstock 8″ x 5″. Score on each edge at 1″. At each corner on the long edges, cut up to the first score line. Using a bone folder, burnish the score lines, then stick the base together to create a box.

Next, I simply started with a 12″ x 12″ piece of DSP, cut in half so you have two 6″ x 12″ and join them together so you have one long piece. Cut this down to 18 1/2″. Add Tear and Tape along the long edge and down one side. Fold it around the base and join together to create the central part of the bag.

The handles are 1″ strip cut from the longer side of an A4 sheet. Score down the centre lengthwise leaving 1.5″ from both ends. Place a piece of tear & tape along one inside edge only to the score lines and fold together. I also used another strip of cardstock of 1″ to place around the top of the bag to make it more sturdy, but that is optional. To finish, I glued some pom pom trim around the top.

Today’s card uses one of the Hostess stamp sets, Cozy Critters.

This is a very quick and simple Christmas card, but one that the kids will love to help you to create.

Swaps for OnStage

Dear Crafters,

Now that I am in Brisbane for the OnStage Live Stampin’ Up! event for 3 days, I can share with you my swaps!

When we attend live events, we make card fronts only to swap with our demonstrator friends for the hour or so before it all begins. The excitement is rich and full of chatter as we meet new people and swap to gain ideas that we may not have thought of creating.

Anyway, here is what I created for this year’s event.

I am not a confident creator of the vintage style, but I do love it and wanted to have a go seeing as this stamp set has the lacy style stamp.

The floral image is coloured with Stampin’ Write Markers and the white flowers are coloured using the AquaPainter filled with bleach and dipped into a little White Craft Ink just for something a little bit different!

Birthday, Kids Cards, Stampin' Up!, Techniques & Tutorials

Magic Slider Card

Dear Crafters,

Today I have a card using the Magic Slider Technique. Now there are loads of videos on YouTube to recreate these types of cards, and this is my first attempt at it.

I am using the stamp set, Bella & Friends.

Colours used are: Bermuda Bay, Gold Glimmer and Whisper White

magic-slider-card-using-stampin-up-bella-and-friends-by-kate-morgan-stampin-up-demonstrator-craft-with-kate-classes-available-in-rowville-stampinup

As you pull the tab at the top, watch the magic happen!

magic-slider-card-using-stampin-up-bella-and-friends-by-kate-morgan-stampin-up-demonstrator-craft-with-kate-classes-available-in-rowville-stampinup-diy

Don’t you love the magic? Kids will be super impressed and have a ball watching the image change from black & white to colour!

magic-slider-card-using-stampin-up-bella-and-friends-by-kate-morgan-stampin-up-demonstrator-craft-with-kate-classes-available-in-rowville-stampinup-puppy

Why don’t you give this technique a go? It looks super tricky, but once you have a go, you’ll be sure to want to create more of them.

Designer/Patterned/Specialty Papers (DSP), feminine, Stampin' Up!

One Wild Ride

Dear Crafters,

Oh, my how pleased I am with this card! This is my first time using this stamp set, One Wild Ride and instead of creating a masculine card, which would be my first instinct with motorbikes, I have created a feminine card!

What? you may be thinking, how do you make something so masculine, into a feminine card? Well read on to check it out!!!

Colours used are: Basic Black, Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo, Whisper White

born-to-ride-feminine-card-using-stampin-up-one-wild-ride-and-ovals-framelits-by-kate-morgan-stampin-up-demonstrator-craft-with-kate-classes-available-in-rowville-stampinup

I used Blushing Bride only to stamp that background splatter image for a bit of a grungy look. I used Black Momento ink for the rest of the stamping. The strip of Designer Series Paper is from the Pop of Pink pack with a small strip on Silver Glimmer card.

born-to-ride-feminine-card-using-stampin-up-one-wild-ride-and-ovals-framelits-by-kate-morgan-stampin-up-demonstrator-craft-with-kate-classes-available-in-rowville-diy

Don’t you love these amazing Layering Ovals Framelits? They make it so quick to add layering to your projects. I popped them up with dimensionals.

born-to-ride-feminine-card-using-stampin-ups-one-wild-ride-by-kate-morgan-stampin-up-demonstrator-craft-with-kate-classes-available-in-rowville-diy

I also added some Black Metallic thread behind the ovals for a little extra interest.
