Cottage Rose Corner Tuck card

Week 42 – Real Red

Today’s Corner Tuck card uses the Cottage Rose Bundle with the Regency Park DSP & Gingham Cottage DSP (retired). Although there isn’t any Real Red in the Regency Park DSP, it is Sweet Sorbet, but it looks like Real Red to me!

The top right corner is some DSP cut into a triangle and glued along the top and right edges only. When the feature panel closes, pop it under this triangle to keep it closed. Isn’t that nifty?!!!

I stamped and die cut the Cottage Rose image and coloured it using my Wink of Stella with ink from the ink pads (Real Red, Shaded Spruce & Mango Melody). This is like water colouring, but with extra sparkle! This is added to the feature panel with Dimensionals.

You can see the Wink of Stella in this image – it is so sparkly!

On the inside, I added a simple sentiment and a die cut flower.

Measurements:
Card base: 29cm x 10.5cm, score @ 14.5cm (cut 7cm off one end to use as feature matt on card front)
DSP: 9.5cm x 6.5cm and 9.5cm x 13cm
White card: 10cm x 6.5cm (2)
DSP: 5.5cm x 5.5cm, cut on diagonal (glue one to upper right corner)

Hippos in Love!

Week 13 – Cherry Cobbler

Tonight I have lots of Sale•a•bration items to share in this cute Hippos in Love card. I began with a Cherry Cobbler card base and I added the dots by creating a template with the Dots & Spots die. I lay this over the card front and used my Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends Marker. The only problem was that it bled through to the inside of the card, oops. You’ll see how I fixed that later. The white layer is cut with the Deckled Rectangle Dies, then I put my Wink of Stella into my Cherry Cobbler inkpad and using the lid, flicked it onto the card. It gives a beautiful shimmer effect. Using the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper, I die cut the poles and string (Tree Lot dies, SAB item #159938) and glued them to the card.

The banner is created using the Alphabest Bundle (Alphabest stamp set and coordinating Best Label Punch) and added each one on a Dimensional.

The Hippest Hippos stamp set (SAB item #159921) are stamped in Black Memento ink and coloured using the following Blends Combo Markers; Cherry Cobbler, Gray Granite and the Colour Lifter. These are die cut using the coordinating Hippo dies (Saleabration item #159928) and added with Dimensionals. The solid hearts are also in this die set and cut from Cherry Cobbler card.

Remember I said how the spots bled through from the front of the card, well I fixed it by creating a pop up and added the 3rd Hippo from the set holding another heart! I almost feel like he should be winking!!!!

I made this card for a dear friend who was a work colleague for many years, but left a couple of years ago. It was her 60th birthday which also happened to fall on Father’s Day, so happy birthday Sarah!

Did you see the Swirls & Curls Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the front? It is from the new Holiday catalogue, but it looks fab on this non-Christmassy card. It will be one we can use on lots of different projects, thanks Stampin’ Up!

The lady is stamped in Petal Pink ink and her dress is coloured with the Wink of Stella Glitter pen and the hat was dipped in some Melon Mambo ink to pick up a bit of coordinating colour! The sentiment is stamped over the top afterwards in Melon Mambo ink so it didn’t smudge.

As you open this card, it reveals more of the Garden Impressions Designer Paper which coordinates so well with this elegant lady, don’t you think?!! I can see her at a wonderful garden party!

Calendar Card, Challenges, Stampin' Up!

Calendar Easel Card for JAI

Dear Crafters,

Here I am with another post today… can you tell I am on holidays, and I’m loving getting my craft on!!!! lol

Today I join the challenge at Just Add Ink.

At this time of year, I love making Calendar cards. They give the recipient something to display all year long.

These Large Number framelits are the perfect addition!!!

Check out those stunning die cut flowers under the calendar, aren’t they gorgeous? These are called So Detailed Thinlits and they are brand new in the Occasions catalogue, available from 4th January. Also the background is stamped with the coordinating stamp set, So in Love.

I even added some Wink of Stella to them, not sure if you can see that in the photo.

And don’t forget to decorate the inside of your card!

Easel Calendar Card

Dear Crafters,

Today I share another card using the Sweet Cupcake Bundle but it has been created as more of a gift that the recipient can keep all year long!

I’ve made this card for my husband’s aunt who loves my calendar cards and seeing as her birthday is on 1 December, it is perfect timing to send it to her with the 2017 calendar!

So today I have used the same colour scheme as Monday’s card; Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach, Whisper White. She wears a lot of orange so I thought this was perfect for her!

The ‘sweet’ is die cut using the Cupcake Cutout Framelits in the Gold Glimmer paper.

The card front is embossed using the Confetti Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The Peekaboo Peach & white ovals are die cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits.

The icing is a 3-step stamping process using photopolymer stamps, so you can easily line them up. The first layer is So Saffron then Peekaboo Peach before the final layer of Watermelon Wonder. I also used the Clear Wink of Stella over the top for a shiny glazed effect! I stamped a die cut two of these cupcakes, one for the front and one for inside the card!

The mini calendar is placed at the bottom of the inside of the card, as this creates the easel.

Don’t forget to decorate inside your card and stamp on the envelope!

Make a Wish

Who doesn’t love cupcakes? I know my family love them and what better way to say happy birthday, than with a cupcake!

So today I have a bright and cheery cupcake card using Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach, Whisper White.

The ‘wish’ is die cut using the Cupcake Cutout Framelits, but here’s a tip for you…

See the background card stock, emboss it first and then die cut the centre to save on card stock (see below). You will then cover it up with the Peekaboo Peach layer!!!! Adhere this to the front of an A5 card.

Sweet Cupcake

Dear Crafters,

Yesterday was my birthday and I also share it with my daughter’s friend, Mia who turned 10! I won’t tell you how old I am, but let’s just say and few more years than that but I only feel 21! lol

Anyway, here is the card I made for Mia. I mean, what little lady doesn’t love sweet pink cupcakes right?!

I love the stars embossing on the background and the Curvy Corner Trio punch. The coordinating ruched ribbon is stunning to use also. They don’t call it Sweet Sugarplum for no reason and it certainly looks amazing in this cupcake!!!

Butterflies, feminine, Stampin' Up!

Butterfly with Detailed Floral Wings

Do you love butterflies like me? Yes? I find I am always drawn to butterflies for many different types of cards, from sympathy to birthday to Thanks or even just a Thinking of You card!

The card base is Rich Razzleberry with a layer of Very Vanilla embossed with the Fluttering textured impressions embossing folder. Each of these butterflies has a shimmer, which was added by brushing some Wink of Stella over each one.

The layered squares framelits were used to create the square layer and some lace trim added to the bottom of this layer before adding it to the card with dimensionals.

I die cut a piece of Blooms & Bliss Designer paper with the Bold Butterfly framelit.

I die cut the larger of the Detailed Floral Thinlits in Very Vanilla card, then placed the bold butterfly framelit over the top and die cut it. Leaving it in the framelit and not removing it just yet, I added small dobs of Tombo glue to the back and then placed the Designer Series Paper butterfly over it, easily lining it up using the edges of the framelit!

I added Wink of Stella to the Vanilla pattern on the butterfly.

Tie some gold cording trim around the body of the butterfly and two small pieces for the antennae. I also tied a bow around the front of the trim, before adding it to the card with dimensionals.

I haven’t added a sentiment, because it really doesn’t need one, but it can then be used for any occasions!!!

I adore this new designer series paper, Floral Boutique. I have teamed it together with the coordinating stamp set, Floral Phrases and the new Floral Affection Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Once I embossed the white card, I die cut it with the Oval framelits. I began by colouring the navy flowers with the aquapainter, but decided to use the Stampin’ Write Markers for a more solid colour. I went over the flowers only with the Wink of Stella.

Birthday, Kids Cards, Stampin' Up!

Painter’s Palette Shaker Card

Dear Crafters,

Today I share some more new products from the upcoming 2016-2017 Annual catalogue which goes live on 1st June!

This is the new Painter’s Palette stamp set in a shaker card.

The sentiment is coloured using the Wink of Stella directly into some Emerald Envy ink and applied directly to the sentiment. This ink is one of the new In Colours, isn’t it pretty?

The easel is stamped in Sweet Sugarplum ink (another of the new In Colours) and the Layered Square Framelits was used to cut out the inside to create the shaker card. I have used some retired in colour sequins which I thought actually went quite well with these new in colours.

The star image is also stamped in Emerald Envy and the Medium Star punch was used to cut it out before adding it with a dimensional. The shaker card uses another new product of foam adhesive strips which makes it much easier. Be sure to check them out on 1st June!
