Week 36 – Poppy Parade

What else would I use for the Poppy Parade showcase, than the Painted Poppies stamp set!

The Blending Brushes are a recent addition to the SU store and they are amazing to work with. I created this soft background with So Saffron at the top and Granny Apple Green at the bottom, blending them in the centre.

The poppy is stamped in Memento Black ink and coloured with Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers; Poppy Parade & Granny Apple Green. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink, and heat embossed with White Emboss Powder.

Linen Thread is wrapped around three times the patterned paper layer and tied in a bow, before gluing it to a Basic White Thick cardstock base.

On the inside I stamped the a small field of poppies and coloured the same way as the front. I also brushed Granny Apple Green ink with the Blending Brushes as well to add a little colour.

Monthly Creative Showcase: Forever and Always

Tonight’s card is using the Forever & Always Bundle and the coordinating Specialty Paper, Love You Always.

I love using black as a background, giving such a dramatic effect with the bright images and layers and the white square scalloped frame, really pops. The Subtle 3D Embossing Folder adds a soft touch of texture.

Inking up a sponge dauber with Magenta Madness, I started in the centre of each flower and swiped the dauber to the outer edge of the petals to get that brushed look. Doesn’t it look amazing?!!!

The centres are sponged with Bumblebee ink and the leaves stamped in Just Jade.

The sentiment is stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with White Emboss Powder.

I stamped some extra flowers and leaves and added them to the inside of the card.

Oh how I love this Gold Gilded Leafing, it looks stunning on projects and I cannot wait to play some more with it!

Just look at the texture of the flowers on that Designer Paper – those flowers look like they are painted on with acrylic/oil paint. Well that is because the paper is photographed from an actual painting before being printed!

This card is very simple, letting the patterned paper do all the work. The only stamping is the flower, leaves and sentiment!

The gilded leafing is added last, just before adding the die cut flower to the card with dimensionals.

Fine Art Floral Suite with Gilded Leafing

The Fine Art Floral Suite is stunning and all these gorgeous products coordinate to make your crafting experience more pleasurable.

I love this particular piece of patterned paper, with all the pink tones. I have used the Petal Pink 5/8″ organdy striped ribbon, just a hit of it between the two DSPs.

The flowers are stamped in Flirty Flamingo/Mossy Meadow ink. Then I used Versamark ink, added Heat & Stick Powder and used the Heat Tool to melt it, before applying the Gilded Leafing.

How pretty is the Flirty Flamingo sentiment die cut on this card?!! So bright and cheery, especially with the daisy!

The Flower and Field patterned paper can be earned for FREE with a $90AUS order during Sale-a-bration (until 28 Feb). This is a gorgeous pack of bright flowery papers with black backgrounds to make the colours really pop.

Initially I cut the Flirty Flamingo sentiment, but it didn’t really pop as much as I would have liked, so I die cut it in black as well and offset them slightly to give that shadow look and it was perfect.

I added a couple of narrow strips of black card either side of the stamped ‘happy birthday’ and a black heart (Dog Builder Punch) in the centre of the daisy.

Tonight’s card is simply stunning with the addition of the gold gilded leafing – WOW, this stuff is just to die for!!!

The Art Gallery Bundle has this gorgeous two step stamped flower which I have inked in Pool Party and then the second layer is stamped in Versamark. Add Heat and Stick Powder, shake off the excess, then heat it with a Heat Tool. This melts the powder so you can then add some of the Gilded Leafing flakes. I use my finger to rub it around over all the sticky powder. I find this the most effective way of adding it efficiently. A little tip with the Gilded Leafing – do not use when you have a fan on, the windows open if it’s breezy outside or it you are about to sneeze. Ask me how I know, LOL. It is so light, it flies everywhere!!!

The sentiment is from the Many Messages Bundle – a wonderful stamp set (all sentiments on 1 stamp) and the die cuts out each one individually in one pass on the Cut & Emboss Machine! Use your Stamparatus to ink up the stamp for a perfect impression.

Flower & Field paper is glorious

Love You Always with Flower & Field DSP by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up! Australia 2021.

A Basic Black card base adds to the dramatic and colourful card.

Yes, another of the patterned pieces from the Flower & Field DSP (earn free during Saleabration 2021). This one really does remind me of a lovely field of flowers, and I chose the Poppy Parade card to add some stamped images, finished off with Gilded Leafing!

The DSP is glued to the Bumblebee matt layer before some of the Bumblebee Ribbon is tied around the layers. A double bow of Bumblebee ribbon and the Gingham ribbon is added. This layer is then glue to the card front.

To apply the Gilded Leafing, I stamped the floral images using Versamark ink, added Heat & Stick Powder, shook off the excess before melting the powder with my Heat Tool. Add some Gilded Leafing Flakes over the now sticky Versamark and rub it around with your fingers. Many people use a paint brush, but I find my fingers get a much better effect! Die cut the images and add them to the card with Glue.

Week 31 – Old Olive

Tonight’s card is using some of the new Jan-Jun Mini catalogue products, the Forever & Always Bundle!

Old Olive – Rococo Rose – Whisper White

Elegant Love You Always for Old Olive Colour Creations Showcase by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2021.

My card base is Rococo Rose with a matt layer of Old Olive. I cut a strip of Love You Always Specialty DSP and the same in the True Love DSP (coloured with Stampin’ Blends Markers). These were adhered to the Old Olive layer and some Blushing Bride Metallic Ribbon attached at the join using Tear & Tape. The ribbon is folded over the edges and behind the Olive layer. Now this is glued to the card base. I tied a ribbon bow and added it with Glue Dots.

The ‘Love’ is die cut in Old Olive card and Whisper White card for the finer layer, adhered with Multipurpose Glue.

Lastly, I stamped the ‘with’ sentiment in Old Olive ink and added some Basic Pearls.

I love the 2 step stamping of this large flower and using the Stamparatus makes it super easy to line up and get the perfect inked image.

The coordinating dies cut out the images so you can get that perfect border around the edge of the stamped image. The bloom is popped up on dimensionals, as is the sentiment.

Week 29 – Mossy Meadow

This is our last colour for 2020, but we will continue mid-January 2021 with the remainder of the SU colours, after a much deserved break!

I really struggled coming up with something using Mossy Meadow – I think it is the darkness of it that throws me, but that is the challenge with this showcase. We all have our preferred colours and some we don’t warm to as much, and this is one of mine 😁

When I can’t figure out what to do, I head to the Stampin’ Up! colour coach for ideas and I selected the middle combination: Mossy Meadow – Flirty Flamingo – Coastal Cabana

I haven’t created too much with the Basket of Blooms stamp set so I thought that might be a good place to start, seeing as there is foliage for Mossy Meadow! I started by stamping the foliage once, then again without reinking, and instead of using markers to colour it, I used the Blending Brushes to add a softer layer of this dark colour. The Rectangle Stitched dies were used to cut it out. Using the Decorative Mask, I sponged the background and the edges.

Of course the blooms had to be Flirty Flamingo for that lovely pop of colour and I used the coordinating punch to cut them out. They also have Wink of Stella on them and some faceted gems in the centres.

The pot is stamped in Coastal Cabana on white card and coloured with blending brushes
(coming soon) before being fussy cut. I also sponged the ink behind where the pot would sit for some shading. I splattered Wink of Stella across the Masked Mossy Meadow layer before adding the centre panel. It really gives the card that extra sparkle!
