Flower & Field paper is glorious

Love You Always with Flower & Field DSP by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up! Australia 2021.

A Basic Black card base adds to the dramatic and colourful card.

Yes, another of the patterned pieces from the Flower & Field DSP (earn free during Saleabration 2021). This one really does remind me of a lovely field of flowers, and I chose the Poppy Parade card to add some stamped images, finished off with Gilded Leafing!

The DSP is glued to the Bumblebee matt layer before some of the Bumblebee Ribbon is tied around the layers. A double bow of Bumblebee ribbon and the Gingham ribbon is added. This layer is then glue to the card front.

Love You Always with Flower & Field DSP by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2021.

To apply the Gilded Leafing, I stamped the floral images using Versamark ink, added Heat & Stick Powder, shook off the excess before melting the powder with my Heat Tool. Add some Gilded Leafing Flakes over the now sticky Versamark and rub it around with your fingers. Many people use a paint brush, but I find my fingers get a much better effect! Die cut the images and add them to the card with Glue.

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 31 – Old Olive

Tonight’s card is using some of the new Jan-Jun Mini catalogue products, the Forever & Always Bundle!

Old Olive – Rococo Rose – Whisper White

Elegant Love You Always for Old Olive Colour Creations Showcase by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2021.

My card base is Rococo Rose with a matt layer of Old Olive. I cut a strip of Love You Always Specialty DSP and the same in the True Love DSP (coloured with Stampin’ Blends Markers). These were adhered to the Old Olive layer and some Blushing Bride Metallic Ribbon attached at the join using Tear & Tape. The ribbon is folded over the edges and behind the Olive layer. Now this is glued to the card base. I tied a ribbon bow and added it with Glue Dots.

The ‘Love’ is die cut in Old Olive card and Whisper White card for the finer layer, adhered with Multipurpose Glue.

Lastly, I stamped the ‘with’ sentiment in Old Olive ink and added some Basic Pearls.

Colour Creations Showcase – Mossy Meadow – Basket of Blooms

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 29 – Mossy Meadow

This is our last colour for 2020, but we will continue mid-January 2021 with the remainder of the SU colours, after a much deserved break!

I really struggled coming up with something using Mossy Meadow – I think it is the darkness of it that throws me, but that is the challenge with this showcase. We all have our preferred colours and some we don’t warm to as much, and this is one of mine 😁

When I can’t figure out what to do, I head to the Stampin’ Up! colour coach for ideas and I selected the middle combination: Mossy Meadow – Flirty Flamingo Coastal Cabana

Mossy Meadow

I haven’t created too much with the Basket of Blooms stamp set so I thought that might be a good place to start, seeing as there is foliage for Mossy Meadow! I started by stamping the foliage once, then again without reinking, and instead of using markers to colour it, I used the Blending Brushes to add a softer layer of this dark colour. The Rectangle Stitched dies were used to cut it out. Using the Decorative Mask, I sponged the background and the edges.

Basket of Blooms for CCS Mossy Meadow by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2020

Of course the blooms had to be Flirty Flamingo for that lovely pop of colour and I used the coordinating punch to cut them out. They also have Wink of Stella on them and some faceted gems in the centres.

The pot is stamped in Coastal Cabana on white card and coloured with blending brushes
(coming soon) before being fussy cut. I also sponged the ink behind where the pot would sit for some shading. I splattered Wink of Stella across the Masked Mossy Meadow layer before adding the centre panel. It really gives the card that extra sparkle!

Colour Creations Showcase – Melon Mambo No-line Watercolour Technique

AWHT Colour Creations ShowcaseEach week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 25 – Melon Mambo

For tonight’s card, I wanted to revisit the no-line watercolour technique, where you stamp the image (2nd generation) in Sahara Sand ink onto Watercolour paper.

This is definitely a technique that takes a lot of practice (for me anyway!) and you need to take your time to allow the colour to dry before adding more for a deeper effect. I used the Water Painters (without filling the barrel with water). I just have a glass of water next to me so the brush doesn’t get too wet as I work. I take the ink from the lid of the inkpad and apply with a light colour over the entire bloom, before going back over it in small sections, allowing to dry between layers.

From a distance, the poppy looks pretty good and I’m fairly happy with the outcome. I haven’t added a sentiment as yet, that will come when I figure out who this card will go to, hence why the image is not centred in the die cut frame. I will add the sentiment to the left later on!

The Scripty Embossing Folder gave my card a more old-worldly feel, as does the Scalloped Lace Trim. The die cut is popped up on dimensionals.

On the inside, I stamped the poppies across the bottom using the same technique. The sentiment is stamped in Sahara Sand ink 3 times using the Stamparatus, to get a nice dark colour.

Week 20 – Gray Granite

How pretty does this patterned paper look when coloured with the Pool Party Stampin’ Blends?!!!

This Designer Paper pack is on sale for the month of October saving you 15%, so make sure you add it to your next order!

01-10-20_DSP_SALE

The flower is stamped in Gray Granite ink and coloured with Petal Pink and Daffodil Delight Blends. The leaves I left uncoloured.

The sentiment is die cut in white and then I traced the outside of the die onto Gray Granite card and fussy cut it out to get that layered look and it really pops!

I added the gold hoop with some gold thread before placing the flower on top. I added the beautiful white bow and some rhinestones round the card for some extra sparkle.

The inside I coloured an offcut of the DSP with Pool Party and Petal Pink Blends to tie in with the front of the card.

CCS – Poppies in a Granny Apple Green Glow

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase

Week 19 – Granny Apple Green

I’m really pleased with how my background turned out on this card – Granny Apple Green is not really my go to colour, it’s a little bright – but I think it really makes these poppies pop!!!

The background is sponged darker from the outer edges and lighter into the centre. Once I had the right amount of ink applied, I dripped some water droplets onto the card and sat it aside to dry.

I die cut the poppy layers in Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo and Basic Black. The Blushing Bride layers I embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.

The leaves are die cut in Granny Apple Green and embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder. I also stamped some of the leaves as well, along with those little star type images from the Pattern Play stamp set. The sentiment (Itty Bitty Greetings) is stamped multiple times to get that lovely dark colour using the Stamparatus.

The poppies are glued together and then two glued to the card front and the last one has some dimensionals under it.

CCS – Gorgeous Grape creates beautiful Lavender

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase

Week 18 – Gorgeous Grape

This week I thought that Gorgeous Grape reminded me of lavender so I decided that this lovely lady was walking through a field of lavender.

I sponged the background starting at the top with Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz towards the bottom for the grass, leaving it softer in the centre.

Then I placed a drop of Frost White Shimmer Paint onto a Clear Block and using the Water Painter, added some water and gently flicked it over the card. You can see the paint splatters. I didn’t want to colour her dress, but I did use the left over paint on the Water Painter to add some shine to her white dress.

Next I stamped the images in Black Stazon Ink. The flowers are coloured using a Blender Pen with the Gorgeous Grape Inkpad. The lady image is cut out and her hair and arms are coloured with Ivory and Bronze Stampin’ Blends. She is popped up on dimensionals. This layer is matted onto Gorgeous Grape card and placed in the centre of the square white card base.

Isn’t it such a peaceful and inviting scene? What we wouldn’t give to be out of isolation, walking through a field of flowers!!!

Oh, and don’t forget to stamp the inside of the card and the envelope!

Week 15 – Early Espresso

Do you immediately think masculine when you see the colour, Early Espresso?! I usually do, but when I looked at the patterned papers and saw that Early Espresso is in the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper and it being the start of Spring, I had to go with flowers for tonight’s card!

Colour Combination - BB OO EE GF

This Double Fan Fold card was inspired by Sam Calcott, UK. I did change up my measurements slightly, but the design is practically the same. I do love a fancy fold for its wow factor and I think this really makes a statement.

The card base is Early Espresso as is the centre background layer, embossed with the Greenery TIEF. There is also a Gold Foil layer behind it.

Double Fan Fold card using Stampin Ups Ornate Garden & Daisy Lane by Kate Morgan Australia 2020

I love the three medium daisies down the front of the card and each one is made up of 3 layers; Early Espresso, stamped Bumblebee and plain Bumblebee with a Gold Foil accent in the centre from the Poppy Moments dies. The leaves are also from this die set.

Double Fan Fold card using Stampin Ups Ornate Garden & Daisy Lane by Kate Morgan, Australia 2020

The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink, Gold Emboss Powder added and heat set. The Classic Label Punch was used to cut it out and then it is popped up on black dimensionals.

You may me wondering where you write a message to send this to someone? I cut a piece of white card to the same size as the Gold Foil layer on the front, then glued it to the back of the card.  This card also folds flat to fit into an envelope.

Here it is open flat so you can see all the angles.

Prized Peony for a 50th Wedding Anniversary

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration and to feature our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase

Week 14 – Daffodil Delight

This week I have a card for a very special 50th Wedding Anniversary using the Prized Peony bundle.

Here’s how I inked the Peonies: die cut each of the 4 pieces that make up each Peony, two times in Daffodil Delight card. Then I sponged the edges with Daffodil Delight ink (Step 1). Take the Decorative Mask (dot design), lay it over the petals and sponge on some Mango Melody ink (Step 2). The final ink colour is Poppy Parade (Step 3).

Tip: to get the nice sponged colour on the inside petal of each piece, place a piece of scrap card or dsp inside before sponging.

Glue the petals together starting with the smallest and inserting it into the next size petal. Continue until you have them all glued together. The stamen is Daffodil Delight card sponged with Mango Melody ink. The leaves are simply stamped and die cut in Pear Pizzazz. The sentiment is stamped in Mango Melody on Daffodil Delight card and added with a small strip of Adhesive Foam Sheet or you could use dimensionals.

Because this is for a 50th Wedding Anniversary, I die cut the 50 in Gold foil with the Adhesive Foam Sheet behind it for extra height.

Oh and did you wonder how I got those dots on the white card base? I used placed the decorative mask on top of the card and ran it through my cut & emboss machine!

The layers behind the flowers are Daffodil Delight (Stitched Rectangle dies) and Poppy Parade card.
