Fancy Folds – Page 13 – Independent Stampin Up!® Demonstrator, Victoria, Australia

Today is a fun 3D fancy fold design that I saw on YouTube with limited instructions, so I went about making my own with metric measurements.

The Dressed to Impress stamp set and coordinating All Dressed Up dies are fabulous products and I still had plenty of this gorgeous patterned paper left and it was perfect to use for this card. This would look great with the Flowers for Every Season DSP too! Maybe that will be my next one, now I have the measurements figured out. 😉

The Stitched Shapes dies are awesome for creating a frame for this centre piece on the front of my card. The stamped images are coloured with Stampin’ Blends Markers and the sentiment, I have used the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch.

Open the card and this pops out with two windows – how cool is that?

With three strips on the inside, you can add multiple images, with the larger ones at the back. These images are stamped in Black Memento ink and coloured with Blends Markers and die cut.

Fancy Fold Christmas card and the New Aug-Dec Mini catalogue is now live!

My card today is a fancy fold design using the Trimming the Town Designer Paper and the Dove of Hope Bundle.

Place the Old Olive card in the Trimmer with the 13cm side at the top and score at 2.5cm. Fold this over and burnish with a bone folder. This creates the top of the card.

For the inside of the card, take the Whisper white card and glue the 2 pieces of Designer Paper to each side, then glue to the inside of the card base. Stamp your sentiment in Old Olive ink.

For the front of the card, place the Poppy Parade piece on the inside in the centre and line it up with the bottom of the card. Holding it carefully in place, add some glue to the top only and fold down the Old Olive flap. Now you can add the Designer Paper (I sponged the edges with Poppy Parade ink).

Die cut the pieces of the dove in Whisper White card and glue a small section so the filigree part of the wings sits up a little and is not glued down. Place dimensionals on the back and adhere it to the card. On a small piece of white card, stamp the bauble in Versamark ink, add White Emboss Powder and heat set it. Colour the bauble with Water Painters and ink pads before cutting it out with scissors and gluing it to the card.

Add 3 small rhinestones to the bauble and tie some white ribbon around the top flap and tie in a bow. I placed a glue dot behind the bow to hold it in place.

Measurements:
Old Olive card base – 14.8cm x 13cm
Whisper White card (inside) – 14.3cm x 10cm
Designer Paper (inside) – 10cm x 2.5cm (2 pieces)
Poppy Parade card – 10.3cm x 9.5cm
Designer Paper (front) – 9cm x 7.2cm

Peony Peek-a-boo card

Today I have created a fancy fold card using the Prized Peony Suite. These stunningly soft colour tones are so feminine and appealing to the eye, especially with the vellum square doilies for added texture.

I coloured the blooms with Stampin’ Blends Markers; Petal Pink and Old Olive.

When you open the card, the peek-a-boo layer comes down to reveal a second image or sentiment!

Colour Creations Showcase – Bermuda Bay

Tonight’s Stampin’ Up! colour is the gorgeous, Bermuda Bay!

I just love this stunning colour and I was very happy with how my card turned out. This Beautiful Moments stamp set is so sweet and I am super happy that it carried over into the new Annual catalogue.

I did a water colour wash on some Water colour paper with Bermuda Bay ink mixed with some Frost White Shimmer White Paint and applied it with an AquaPainter. After it dried, I ran it through my embossing machine in the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. I cut the paper down to size and used my sewing machine to add some crazy stitching around the edges as a border. I roughed up the edges with my scissors and then glued it to my card front.

The image is stamped and coloured, also with Shimmer Paint added. Cut out the image and I used my Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blends Marker around the edges so it blended into the background better. This is popped up on dimensionals.

On the inside I wanted to create a pop up card with the stamped image of the two girls. I coloured them the same way.

This photo shows them a little closer, popped up (especially with the shadow)!

It is very easy to create – simply cut the insert and score it in half. Here is a template:

Pop up Card Template

When you fold this insert in half (valley fold), the two small sections need to pop into the card (mountain fold) to create the small sections. I think you can see it better on this angle. I just measured exactly where these cut lines needed to be and how wide, to sit behind the image of the girls.

Today’s card uses the Ornate Garden Suite and the Peaceful Poppies Suite of
Products, all which will still be available in the new Annual catalogue starting 3 June!

Olive Balmy Navy White Flirty

The front of the Balmy Blue card base is embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder, before a layer of Old Olive card, die cut with the Ornate Layers dies. A Piece of DSP is added, long with other elements you can see.

This centre feature is the ornate style stamp set image stamped onto some Sparkle Glimmer Paper and die cut in a circle. I’ve coloured the image, gently in a dabbing motion so as not to ruin them, with Stampin’ Blends Markers. How pretty does it look?!!

On the inside I have the same image stamped on Whisper White card stock, coloured the same way and fussy cut. This is glued to the Champagne Foil Sheet, die cut with the gorgeous Ornate Layers dies. The Navy card is embossed with the new Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder.

But then you open it again to reveal the inside of the card!

How did I do that? The card consists of 2 standard card bases, but the Navy one is flipped over and opens in the opposite direction and is glued behind the Balmy Blue card base!

Peaceful Moments Double Gate Fold Card with Instructions

Tonight’s card is a Double Gate Fold design to show off this gorgeous designer paper!

Cut a piece of 12″ x 12″ DSP down to 5½” x 12″ and score it at 2″, 4″, 8″, 10″.
From each of the top corners, measure down 2¾” and mark with a pencil. From that pencil mark, up to the first scoreline, cut the corner off and glue it to the bottom right corner of the card (flipping the design over). Repeat this on the other side!

Gently fold your scorelines (mountain fold, valley fold, valley fold, mountain fold) to create this card.

For the inside:
Poppy Parade card – 5” x 3½”
Whisper White card – 4¾” x 3¼”
Stamp your sentiment in Black ink and add the poppies elements.

The poppy and elements are added last (be careful to add glue on the left side only!)

Best Dressed Arrow Fold Card

This Best Dressed Suite is so pretty and the Designer Paper is absolutely stunning. I love all the colours in it and today I have created an arrow fold card. I searched the internet for many different types of fancy fold cards and came up with this one. I couldn’t find one with instructions for Australian measurements, but it was pretty easy to work out!

Colours: Purple Posy, Petal Pink, Mossy Meadow & Old Olive

Aren’t these new Stitched So Sweetly dies gorgeous? I just love the stitching and the different shapes in the one set for beautiful layering. They were one of the first items into my shopping bag!

On the inside, I used the extra pieces of the DSP and some white card for adding a sentiment when required.
