Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 8 of the Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My project today uses the new At Home with You stamp set and the coordinating At Home Framelits (purchased together as a bundle, you save an extra 10%)!

The Brick Wall Textured impressions embossing folder was used to create the background with Crumb Cake card and I sponged the edges and across the grout lines with a sponge dauber and coordinating ink.

Check out the red door? Yes, it actually opens! This is super cool and there is a die in the set that actually creates this. I love the wreath and the holly above the door; it really gives that Christmas feel. I can almost imagine a warm fire glowing inside the door!

The red glimmer paper was punched with the 1/8th Handheld Circle punch and adhered to the little trees with Tombo multipurpose glue. I think these baubles look so pretty in the glimmer! I love the door mat too, which I stamped Merry Christmas in Versamark ink and gold embossed it.

The Heart of Christmas, Week 7

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 7 of the Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My project today is a Fancy Fold card (instructions below) using the Star of Light, Cookie-Cutter Christmas & Tabs for Everything stamp sets and the brand new Embossing Paste!

Wow, this embossing paste is fabulous! I loved playing with it, but just a warning, you need to work fairly fast and ensure you clean up straight away before it dries hard onto your masks. The design was completely dry within a few minutes!

Here I have mixed in a tiny drop of reinker to colour the paste to coordinate with my colour scheme.

The Santa was stamped in Black ink and coloured with Stampin’ Write Markers.

Here is the side view so you can see how it folds flat to fit into a standard C6 envelope for posting!

You can find the instructions for how to create this fancy fold card from my recent post, Tranquil Tulips.

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 6 of the Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team.

My card today is 5-3/4″ square card using the Jar of Love & Christmas Pines stamp sets and the Everyday Jars Framelits.

Can you believe that I have never inked up the Jar of Love stamp set until now?! True! But… having made this card, I am bound to make many more projects with this amazing stamp set.

The photos don’t do this card justice in showing all the glitter and gold edging, but I hope you can see that I used the Versamark ink pad, and rubbed it along the edges of the cardstock, dipped them in gold embossing powder and heat set it. It’s another way of creating a layered effect without the extra thickness of cardstock!

The flowers were stamped with the Cherry Cobbler ink, however the solid background colour was stamped off first to give that toned look. The greetings are from the Christmas Pines stamp set.

and here is the inside of the card!

Dear Crafters,

Welcome to Week 5 of the Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My card today uses the Star of Light stamp set and the Starlight Thinlits with the Shaving Cream Technique!

Heart of Christmas Card with Shaving Cream Technique using Star of Light & Starlight Thinlits by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator, Melbourne Australia

This is a super messy technique, but I love how different every card is when you wipe off the shaving cream! Here I have used Sweet Sugarplum reinker in the cream, with the Shimmery White cardstock for a little extra sparkle! 🙂

When it was dry, I then stamped the star background and the sentiment in the Sweet Sugarplum ink.

The gold glimmer paper was die cut and added with our new mini dimensionals, and boy are they mini, not so good for these numb hands to handle!!!! I also added some of the Gold Metallic thread behind.

I just love this little reindeer stamped in Crumb Cake and Glimmer Red nose! The Fox Builder Punch was used to punch out his little head to pop up on dimensionals.

The Wood Textures DSP is so amazing and it can be used for nearly any style card, including Christmas! Who would have thought?!!!

Those snowflakes from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits are super cute and add the perfect embellishments to this card, along with the sentiment using the Classic Label Punch.

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Dear Crafters,

Welcome to Week 3 of the Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My card today uses the Cookie Cutter Christmas & Christmas Pines stamp sets, which have been carried over into the new annual catalogue. I am so happy, as I already had both of these sets and I am excited to be able to continue sharing Christmas projects with you!

I have use Tranquil Tide and Cherry Cobbler and I think these will be my ‘go to’ Christmas colours this year. The teddy bear is stamped in Crumb Cake with Early Espresso features.

This card uses the Whisper White Notecards & Envelopes which make card-making very quick and easy and you can create multiples of these cards in a short period of time. We all like that at Christmas time, right?!! And these packs are such great value at $10.50 for 20 notecards and 20 envelopes!

I decorated the envelope with the bear on the front and some of the pine needle branches on the back seal.

Check out the new Decorative Ribbon Border Punch; it was one of the first things on my wish list!

The Heart of Christmas

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Dear Crafters,

Do you know it is only 26 weeks until the end of November? Yes, how scary is that?!!!

So, because every year Christmas comes around so quickly, our Art with Heart team leader, Claire Daly, has decided on a weekly Wednesday post of handmade Christmas inspiration; cards, tags and other projects, and she has asked us to join her. By the time Christmas comes around, we won’t be so overwhelmed and we will have a nice little stash of cards organised prior to the silly season!!!

I know the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue launched last Thursday, but there are so many great Christmas stamps in there and the 2017 Holiday Catalogue will be available in September to add even more goodies to our cause.

My card today uses the Lovely as a Tree stamp set, which has been one of the longest standing stamp sets in the South Pacific catalogues since Stampin’ Up! came to Australia and it is perfect for Christmas cards!

I am loving Tranquil Tide with Gold and Very Vanilla as a colour combo and I can see myself using this for many more Christmas cards!

Christmas Scrapbooking

Dear Crafters,

Well, it’s almost Christmas…. only 2 more sleeps until Santa arrives! Who is excited?!!

Today I have my completed scrapbooking pages that I had started and shared with you back in October. You can see that post here.

I have added my photos of my girls making our gingerbread, which has become our family tradition at the beginning of December each year.

Did you also notice the mini calendar? Well, there’s a story behind that!

Each year, I purchase about 25 of these mini calendars to make Calendar Easel Cards and I always have one or two left over. So this year, I have incorporated the individual pages into my scrapbooking pages!!!!

A great idea to use them up without feeling guilty throwing them in the bin. Just circle the date the photos were taken for a quick and fun way to add a date to your page.

And here is another page, this time celebrating my daughter receiving her Green Certificate at swimming, which took over 12 months to achieve. We didn’t think we would ever see this day, so certainly a memorable moment to scrapbook!

What do you think of this neat idea to use up those mini calendars?

Wishing you all a safe and Merry Christmas and I’ll be back on Monday with some new products!!!!

Handbag Gift Bag

Dear Crafters,

On Monday I shared a fancy fold card using the delightful, Candy Cane Lane DSP and Cookie Cutter Christmas Bundle.

Today, I have a Handbag made purely from paper to place that lovely card into, in the same Designer Series Paper!

gift-handbag-using-stampin-ups-candy-cane-lane-dsp-holiday-catalogue-2016-by-kate-morgan-independent-demonstrator-classes-in-rowville

and here you can see the card inside!

gift-handbag-using-stampin-up-candy-cane-lane-dsp-holiday-catalogue-2016-by-kate-morgan-independent-demonstrator-classes-in-rowville

How did I create this bag?  Start by making the base using a piece of cardstock 8″ x 5″. Score on each edge at 1″. At each corner on the long edges, cut up to the first score line. Using a bone folder, burnish the score lines, then stick the base together to create a box.

Next, I simply started with a 12″ x 12″ piece of DSP, cut in half so you have two 6″ x 12″ and join them together so you have one long piece. Cut this down to 18 1/2″. Add Tear and Tape along the long edge and down one side. Fold it around the base and join together to create the central part of the bag.

The handles are 1″ strip cut from the longer side of an A4 sheet. Score down the centre lengthwise leaving 1.5″ from both ends. Place a piece of tear & tape along one inside edge only to the score lines and fold together. I also used another strip of cardstock of 1″ to place around the top of the bag to make it more sturdy, but that is optional. To finish, I glued some pom pom trim around the top.
