Precious memories forever

I love to do memory keeping but I know I need lots more practice at it. I envy so many scrapbooker’s who share their work and I admit, I find it very difficult to create a page I actually love, but I give it my all.

Today I have put this page together, because it is so important to me, to cherish these memories for many years to come. My eldest daughter who has just turned 12, was a finalist in the Primary Schools Speech Contest this month and it was a big deal!

Memory Keeping using Stampin Up Embossing Paste, Delicate Lace Edgelits, Frosted Florals by Kate Morgan, Australia 2018.JPG

She had to go through a couple of processes at her school before being chosen to represent her school in the final. There is no way in the world, I could ever, or even now, get up in front of an audience and deliver a speech in front of that many people!

I love the shine of this Frosted Florals Specialty Designer Series Paper that is printed on Shimmery card stock. It is available in the new Holiday catalogue (5 Sept) and it is stunning! The Embossing Paste, I added some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to also give it a lovely shine.

Here she is with her Certificate of Participation.

Blog Hop: Add Texture with Embossing!

Hello Crafters,

Tonight the Art with Heart team girls are sharing some creative projects by adding texture with embossing. Embossing can add a lovely dimension, and with our wonderful Stampin’ Up! products, we can create many different looks. These include Heat embossing using embossing powder, dry embossing using our textured folders or by adding embossing paste!

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from the lovely, Sharon Davern. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

My first project today features some new products you may not have seen yet, from the soon to be released Occasions catalogue and Sale-a-bration brochure. This stamp set, Party Pandas is going to be very popular as one of the FREE stamp sets when you spend $90+ during Sale-a-bration! I have also featured the Scattered Sequins Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

I have added some Wink of Stella to each sequin, but I’m not sure if you can this in the photos? The Lemon Lime Twist ribbon and the Adhesive Backed Tutti Fruitti Sequins are also new products.

For my next project, I have used the Embossing Paste with Pattern Party Decorative Masks and then quickly added some gold embossing powder and heat set it. This showcases two embossing techniques in one, and look at that amazing effect!!!! I’ve also dry embossed the background, so all three embossing techniques are used on this one card!

I’ve also used the Stampin Blends Markers to colour the flower!

The embossing paste adds a wonderful texture to your projects. The best thing about it, is that you can colour it with your reinkers to change the colour, you can add embossing powder before it dries and heat set it, but you can also mix in some fine glitter!

Why don’t you give embossing a try? It adds wonderful texture to your projects!

Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links. You may have come to me from my lovely team member, Amie McIlroy.

Now let’s get started!

Today, it’s all about our favourite colour combinations and I certainly do love these colours together. In fact, any colour with black can be so striking!

I am using the amazing new embossing paste and Pattern Party Decorative Masks.

Favourite Colour Combination using Stampin Ups Sweet Cupcake & Embossing Paste by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator, Australia for Art with Heart Team Blog Hop.

I mixed a small drop of Berry Burst ink into the paste and mixed it around thoroughly. I placed the die of the icing from the cupcake Framelits onto white cardstock. Holding it carefully, I applied a liberal amount of the paste, swirling it around to create the icing. I then used a thinner layer on the black card using the mask to create the background, hence it looks lighter in colour. Set these aside to dry.

I die cut the circles using the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies. The sentiment was using the stamps from the Sweet Cupcake stamp set, but you may notice that the word “wishes” is not there. I thought it looked a bit silly saying Sweet Birthday Wish and needed to make it plural, so I carefully inked up the “ess” from the “you happiness” stamp, placed a piece of paper over the last “s” so it didn’t stamp on my card to create wishes!

The cupcake wrapper was stamped in Soft Suede (2nd and 3rd layers stamped off once, then twice) before being die cut and added below the icing. Once the icing was dry, I used paper snips to cut around the whole cupcake and added it to the Berry Burst circle with dimensionals.

I love the touch of gold glimmer to die cut the sentiment and the golf metallic thread added behind the circle layers.

At the very end once all of the layers were stuck down, I went back with the palette knife and added a tiny bit more of the white paste across the raised edges of the icing to add some highlighting and a swirl effect. I just want to eat it!!! At least this cupcake is better for the figure, hehe!

The Heart of Christmas, Week 7

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 7 of the Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My project today is a Fancy Fold card (instructions below) using the Star of Light, Cookie-Cutter Christmas & Tabs for Everything stamp sets and the brand new Embossing Paste!

Wow, this embossing paste is fabulous! I loved playing with it, but just a warning, you need to work fairly fast and ensure you clean up straight away before it dries hard onto your masks. The design was completely dry within a few minutes!

Here I have mixed in a tiny drop of reinker to colour the paste to coordinate with my colour scheme.

The Santa was stamped in Black ink and coloured with Stampin’ Write Markers.

Here is the side view so you can see how it folds flat to fit into a standard C6 envelope for posting!

You can find the instructions for how to create this fancy fold card from my recent post, Tranquil Tulips.

I hope you have enjoyed my Heart of Christmas post and I look forward to sharing more Christmas inspiration with you next Wednesday!

If you would like to see more Christmas inspiration, check out the other lovely ladies who are participating this week, starting with Sharon Davern.

Happy Stamping,
