Paper Piecing

Dear Crafters,

Today I have created a card using the Paper Piecing Technique, not to be confused with the Paper Piercing Technique!

This technique is quite easy, but you need to like fussy cutting!!!!

I stamped the floral image onto the chosen Designer Series Paper and then fussy cut out the flowers petals with Paper Snips. I did the same for the leaves, but onto a different designer paper.

Stamp the image again (stem) onto your Very Vanilla card and then glue the fussy cut pieces over the top.

I added the cute little ribbon bow, using some of the metallic ribbon that I got for FREE during Saleabration when I placed a $90 order!!!

Birthday Blast

Dear Crafters,

Today my youngest daughter has a birthday party to attend and this little 7 year old loves pink apparently. That was the first step in deciding what colours to use, and next decision was what stamps and/or dies to use.

I haven’t yet inked up my Birthday Blast stamp set, so I got that our and the coordinating edgelits, Star Blast.

Oh, and check out the Blushing Bride Glimmer Star Blast!!!

See the stars scattered around the card? Well those came out of the edgelits and I wasn’t going to waste them! I added some Wink of Stella to the stamped stars.

What do you think of this quick and easy card? This would look good in so many colour combinations and can be masculine, feminine or whatever you want really!!!

The Watercolour Pencils make colouring very easy with the AquaPainter.

and those sentiments, they are just adorable! I have stamped them onto vellum and glued them to the card using Tombo Multipurpose Adhesive.

Those Stitched Shapes Framelits add the extra touch, especially with the scallop circle die behind in vellum!

Hey chicky, lets shake em!

Happy Boxing Day!

Are you hitting the Boxing Day sales in town or are you staying clear of them like me, and enjoying the peace and quiet at home, stamping?!!!

Today I have a cute shaker card using the new Occasions and Sale-a-bration products available from 4th January!

I think this stamp set Hey, Chick is going to be very popular! These funny little chickens just make me smile 🙂

I love a good shaker card too, so I added some brown rice inside my shaker card. It just reminds me of chicken food lol.

To create the background, I added ink to the embossing folder before running it through the Big Shot. This gives the effect of chicken wire!

I coloured the chickens with our new Watercolour Pencils and used a Blender Pen to blend the colour. You will be totally amazed at how well it works on Whisper White card, Shimmery White card and even better, the Watercolour Paper!

And don’t forget to decorate the inside of your card too!

Begin by stamping the image in Basic Black ink and let it dry.

Using the Watercolour Pencils, colour the image and blend with a Blender Pen.

I stamped the sentiment onto the Melon Mambo card before running it through the Big Shot with the Falling Petals Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Glue all the layers together!

Today I share some watercolouring with a gorgeous, must have stamp set from the Occasions 2017 catalogue, Beautiful You.

Begin by stamping the image in Basic Black ink and let it dry.

Using the AquaPainter and inks, watercolour the sky from the top, getting slightly lighter as you get to the bottom of the page.

Using the new Watercolour Pencils, colour the image and use the Blender Pen to blend the colour! These are just a fabulous product I can see myself using lots and lots!

I stamped the sentiment onto vellum and added it with Tombo glue.

I added some Wink of Stella to the umbrella.

Carousel Birthday

Today I share another gorgeous suite from the Occasions 2017 catalogue, Cupcakes and Carousels.

I love how simple this card is with just stamping directly onto the Designer Series paper, but then adding a little dimension with the cupcake tops!

Begin by stamping all the images in Black ink. Then stamp the carousel again with versamark ink onto whisper white card and adding copper embossing powder and heat setting it. This set coordinates with the Up & Away thinlits, which were used to die cut the cupcake icing. Add each one with 1/2 a dimensional.

Watercolour Dragonflies

Today I share another sneak peek of the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle, but this time using the emboss resist technique.

I love how simple but effective this technique is!

Begin by stamping the images in Versamark ink, then add clear embossing powder and heat set.

Using the AquaPainter and ink, brush on the colour blending the two together in the centre. I’ve used Calypso Coral and Marina Mist.

To get those dots, I dropped tiny amounts of water from the AquaPainter, let it sit for a minute or two, then dabbed off with some paper towel. This lifts the colour already added.

I also added a vellum dragonfly and some pearls to the body.
