Congratulations: In the City

Hello friends,

Today I take you back to the Annual catalogue and one of the Hostess stamp sets, In the City!

I’ve had this in my collection for a little while and it has never been inked up, so I thought it was time to get it out and give it some love. I think with 60 stamps in the set, it scared me a little, but wow, it was so quick and easy to use. I will definitely be giving it some more love over the coming weeks, so stay tuned!

In the City Stamp Set (60 stamps!)

Stampin Up In the City by Craft with Kate, Independent Demonstrator, Australia Congratulations Handmade Card DIY

I love all the colours in this card; Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party, Sweet Sugarplum, Tempting Turquoise and Wisteria Wonder. It’s like a lolly shop of candy colours!!!

I poked a hole in the tail of the plane and threaded some twine through and secured it at the back of the card before gluing it to the LLT card layer. The twine is adhered to the banner with glue dots.  The sentiment is from the Best Birds stamp set.

Don’t forget to stamp the inside of the card and the envelope to coordinate. It’s so much fun to get this sort of happy mail in the post box, don’t you agree?!

I cased this based on a card by Candy Ford. Thanks for the inspiration!

I also sponged some Marina Mist ink across the branches of the trees to give some colour to the sky behind. The font was printed on my computer.

The Heart of Christmas, Week 27: At Home with You

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 27 of The Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team! This is our final post of Christmas Inspiration for the Heart of Christmas. I hope you have enjoyed my projects each Wednesday for the past 27 weeks! It sure was fun and a great way to build up my stash of Christmas cards. Now to write in them all and post them off with my yearly newsletter!

My project today focuses on the At Home with You stamp set and coordinating framelits.

Christmas Card using Stampin Up At Home with You by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia

I embossed the crumb cake card with the Brick Wall TIEF and then used a sponge dauber with coordinating ink to give the wall some texture. I added a small piece of Basic gray cardstock to the bottom to look like pavement. I think it worked really well. The door is stamped with Black Memento ink onto Cherry Cobbler cardstock and die cut.

The pot plants are coloured with the new Stampin’ Blends Markers.

On the inside of the card I added a small piece of the Year of Cheer Specialty Washi tape with another pot plant image.

I love these cute little Boxwood Wreath embellishments and the Cherry Cobbler Double Stitched ribbon, tied in a bow, to finish it off.

Masculine Card using the Colourful Seasons Bundle with Sheet Music

Dear Crafters,

Here is another Masculine card using the Colourful Seasons Bundle, Sheet Music and Rose Wonder stamp sets, Wood Textures DSP and the Copper Metallic Foil!

Masculine Thank You card using Stampin Up Seasonal Layers thinlits & Wood Textures DSP by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia #stampinup #cutitnothoardit DIY

I love the simplicity of this card, although it uses many different products. The Copper gives it a gorgeous shine and I love how the Sheet Music stamp is directly stamped onto the Wood Textures DSP! Can you see that under those leaves? I actually stamped it off once before stamping onto the paper so it was a little more subtle.

Masculine Thank You card using Stampin Up Seasonal Layers thinlits & Wood Textures DSP with copper by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia DIY #stampinup #cutitnothoardit

I copper embossed the Early Espresso card with the large maple leaf and heat set it before die cutting the shape. The sentiment is actually from the Rose Wonder stamp set.

I also stamped the large maple leaf on the inside of the card and on the envelope to tie it all together.

Birthday, Fancy Folds, Kids Cards, Stampin' Up!

It’s a Roller Coaster Ride!

Dear Crafters,

Who doesn’t love a bright and colourful kids birthday card?!!! Today I am using the Let the Good Times Roll stamp set, with the coordinating Thrill Ride Pop-up Thinits dies (available in a bundle) from the upcoming Occasions catalogue due for release in January, and check them out!

Here is the front of the card. These little roller coaster cars are so cute with the birthday balloons hanging from them as they travel along the track.

but open the card and this is where the magic happens….

Roller Coaster card using Stampin Up Let the Good Times Roll & Thrill Ride Popup thinlits by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia open

Check out the pop up on the inside!! Isn’t it amazing?! I have to admit, this card did take a bit of time to create, as it was quite fiddly and time consuming, but it is so worth it. You just need to take your time and keep manipulating the pieces to get it right. Make sure you score along the bottom of the roller coaster and along the edges on either side of the tracks with your bone folder, to make it easier too.

This card does fold flat to fit into a C6 envelope and can be mailed!!!

Blog Hop/Instagram Hop, Flowers, Stampin' Up!, Techniques & Tutorials

Blog Hop: Add Texture with Embossing!

Hello Crafters,

Tonight the Art with Heart team girls are sharing some creative projects by adding texture with embossing. Embossing can add a lovely dimension, and with our wonderful Stampin’ Up! products, we can create many different looks. These include Heat embossing using embossing powder, dry embossing using our textured folders or by adding embossing paste!

AWHT Blog Hop - November 2017 - Add Texture with Embossing.jpg

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from the lovely, Sharon Davern. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

My first project today features some new products you may not have seen yet, from the soon to be released Occasions catalogue and Sale-a-bration brochure. This stamp set, Party Pandas is going to be very popular as one of the FREE stamp sets when you spend $90+ during Sale-a-bration! I have also featured the Scattered Sequins Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

I have added some Wink of Stella to each sequin, but I’m not sure if you can this in the photos? The Lemon Lime Twist ribbon and the Adhesive Backed Tutti Fruitti Sequins are also new products.

For my next project, I have used the Embossing Paste with Pattern Party Decorative Masks and then quickly added some gold embossing powder and heat set it. This showcases two embossing techniques in one, and look at that amazing effect!!!! I’ve also dry embossed the background, so all three embossing techniques are used on this one card!

I’ve also used the Stampin Blends Markers to colour the flower!

The embossing paste adds a wonderful texture to your projects. The best thing about it, is that you can colour it with your reinkers to change the colour, you can add embossing powder before it dries and heat set it, but you can also mix in some fine glitter!

Why don’t you give embossing a try? It adds wonderful texture to your projects!

Heart of Christmas Inspiration: Christmas Card with Scissor Bling

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 26 of The Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team!

My project today is not just a beautiful handmade card, but also a gift, with some scissor bling being the feature! You can see the scissor bling hanging from the centre of the card. This can be removed and added to the recipients Paper Snips/Scissors after Christmas.

You may also notice some new ribbons… yes, they will be available in the upcoming Occasions catalogue. I was lucky enough to receive some at our recent OnStage event.

  • Lemon Lime Twist 1cm Mini Striped Ribbon
  • Berry Burst 1cm Metallic Edged Ribbon

You have to see them in real life, just to see how stunning they are.

The scissor bling is attached to some little phone charm cords that I purchased on eBay.

Masculine Thank You Card

Dear Crafters,

Are you like me and struggle with Masculine cards? Well, I have been on a bit of a roll lately with lots of requests for Masculine cards, and this Wood Textures Designer Series Paper is perfect to use!!!

Masculine Thank You card using Stampin Up Wood Textures DSP, Painted Harvest & Seasonal Layers thinlits by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia #stampinup #cutitnothoardit DI

I have obviously gone for the earthy tones and the Seasonal Layers thinlits are the perfect match, along with some of the burlap ribbon. The sentiment is from the Delightful Daisy stamp set as I wanted a fairly large image to stamp onto the Oval Stitched Shapes framelits die cut.

I love all the layers on this card. What do you think?

Earthy tones for a Masculine card

Hello Friends,

My project today is a Masculine Farewell card using the Wood Textures Designer Paper, Painted Harvest stamp set and the Seasonal Layers thinlits.

I initially had the Lemon Lime Twist panel on the left plain, but then i decided to stamp those little acorns and I think it looks great. I also stamped one on the envelope!

Seasonal Layers thinlits & Wood Textures DSP Masculine Farewell card

The sentiment was printed using my computer, but look at that detail in the Wood Textures DSP?!!! It has so much detail and it looks so real! I love these detailed leaves too.

On the inside of the card I used some of the Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape and a small piece of the Wood Textures DSP.
