Highland Heather: Umbrella Days

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 30 – Highland Heather

Today I feature the Umbrella Days bundle, new to the Online Exclusives section of the store.

Umbrella Days card for Highland Heather Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024

I first stamped the larger girl image and then masked her by stamping onto masking paper and cutting it out to place over the top of the previously stamped image. This is so when I stamped the smaller child, I could have it to appear behind the larger image. But warning, don’t be like me, and forget to take a little stickyness away from the masking paper. Ooops, I ripped the card when I was removing it.

The dog was stamped last. To try and cover up my booboo, I decided to add some paper piecing! Stamping the images onto Designer paper and then cutting out sections, eg the coat, to glue over the stamped image. I did this for the umbrella, coat and boots of the large image, the boots of the child and the coat for the dog! The rest were coloured with Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers.

I wanted to add the rain, so stamped the rain in Versamark ink, added clear emboss powder and melted it with my Heat Tool. I used a blending brush to add colour from the bottom to top using Lemon Lime Twist, Pool Party & Highland Heather.

I cut two strips of grass and coloured them with Blends Combo Markers; Lemon Lime Twist & Soft Sea Foam. The little flowers were coloured using Highland Heather.

This layer is added to Gold Foil and to a Highland Heather card front. Some dots were added using a White Gelly Pen.

On the inside is a 14cm x 28cm Basic White insert scored at 4.5cm & 9cm from either end. Some Meandering Meadows Designer Series paper is added to 3 of the 4 panels and a Wanted to Say die cut sentiment in the centre. This was then mounted to another Highland Heather card base (14.5cm x 10.5cm).

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for inspiration using Lemon Lime Twist.

Please enjoy the wonderful inspiration of our next team member, Di Furniss.

Gray Granite: Otterly Amazing cards

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 29 – Gray Granite

Today I feature the Otterly Amazing bundle and the Otterly Adorable Designer Series Paper (new to the Online Exclusives section of the store).

OTTERLY ADORABLE SUITE COLLECTION164939
OTTERLY ADORABLE SUITE COLLECTION 164939

As you can see above, there are some adorable full page 12 x 12 patterned sheets and I have cut one up to create this first card, a simple single layer card. The card base is Gray Granite and then I inked the edges of the patterned paper with my Gray Granite ink pad, added Clear Emboss Powder and melted with my heat tool. This adds a lovely soft border without adding extra cardstock bulk to my card. A piece of the soft Loft Lagoon Soft Cording is wrapped around and tied in a bow.

Can you see the glisten of the water? I used an old Water Painter and some Versamark refill ink to paint over the water before adding Clear Emboss Powder then melted with my heat tool. This added a bit of wow to a simple single layer card.

on the inside a simple white panel and a diecut otter from the DSP. How cute is he?!!

Card 2 is for the casual crafter, more of a stepped up card but not difficult to create. Using the patterned papers really helped creating the scene, and the otters are diecut from the papers – how cool is that?! The extra plant life is cut from Pretty Peacock and Garden Green cardstock and the rocks from Gray Granite.

Here is a close up of the sentiment that is heat embossed with White WOW Emboss powder. I have used a white gelly roll pen to add some detail to the rocks and around the sentiment. Some Riverside Irregular Pearls were added.

Granny Apple Green: Country Birdhouse Pop Up Standing Card

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 28 – Granny Apple Green

Today I feature a fun fold card using very earthy tones this week. I find Granny Apple Green a very bright tone, so I used it by adding ink blending around the outer edges of the Country Woods designer paper layer. The Country Birdhouse stamps and coordinating dies were used to stamp the birdhouse, and two birds in Black Memento ink and I die cut the elements to embellish the card.  The base was dry embossed with my favourite Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder.

Country Birdhouse Pop Up Standing card for Granny Apple Green Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024

The sentiment and die cut piece is from the Unbounded Love bundle.

The birdhouse is coloured with Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers; Pecan Pie and the Natural Tones Collection of Deep Combo (SU100), Medium Combo (SU500), Medium Light (SU700) & Light Combo (SU900).

The birds and leaves are also coloured with Blends Markers; Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green & Soft Sea Foam. The perch and the bow are cut from Early Espresso cardstock. The perch is glued into the centre of the base and the bird attached with a glue dot.

You may be wondering “how do I mail it”? Well, the bottom section folds up so it fits into a C6 envelope!

Gorgeous Grape: Painted Lavender Double Door Pop Up card

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 27 – Gorgeous Grape

Today I feature the Painted Lavender stamp set and coordinating dies with the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper (DSP) in a fun fold design.

Colour Combination - Gorgeous Grape

The front feature is stamped in second generation ink, meaning I stamped off on scrap paper before applying to the card. I also stamped this same image in full strength onto Basic White card and die cut it to add over the top on Dimensionals. The greenery is die cut in white and Pretty Peacock ink applied with a blending brush. Gorgeous Grape ink is also applied around all edges of the white layer. The lavender and butterflies have Wink of Stella on them for some sparkle.

Painted Lavender Double Door Pop Up card for Gorgeous Grape Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024

As you open the centre panel, it reveals two beautiful Gorgeous Grape doors, dry embossed with one of the Fun Patterns Embossing Folders.

Then continue to open to find a stamped panel, with some more images from the stamp set. These are coloured with Fresh Freesia, Gorgeous Grape and Pretty Peacock, but wait, there is more. Open that panel up to reveal your message and some more gorgeous stamped images!

I haven’t put any sentiments on this card, as I’ll add the appropriate ones at the time when I know who I’m sending this to.  I cased this design from Karen Philipp, a US Demonstrator.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for inspiration using Granny Apple Green.

Garden Green: To Market Simple Layout Thank You Card & Triangle Giftbox

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 26 – Garden Green

Today I feature the To Market Designer Paper in this fun layout, using Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie and Basic White.

Thank You card To Market DSP for Garden Green Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024

How did I make it?

  1. Begin with a sheet of Garden Green cardstock cut to 29.7cm x 10.5cm, score @ 14.8cm to create a top folding portrait orientation standard sized card.
  2. Cut a piece of DSP 10cm x 14.2cm and cut in half down the centre. Flip one piece over the reveal the reverse pattern and glue them side by side to the card base.
  3. Cut another piece of DSP 7.5cm x 10.5cm and a matt layer of Garden Green card 8cm x 11cm and glue them together.
  4. Wrap some green Natural Tones Linen Thread around the right side three times and tie in a bow. Adhere this to the centre of the card on Dimensionals.
  5. Die cut a different floral pattern from the same DSP pack using a circle from the Spotlight on Nature dies and glue this to the previous layer, overhanging it slightly on the left.
  6. Diecut the Basic White banner [Stylish Shapes dies] and stamp the sentiment [Simply Said] in Garden Green ink.
  7. Cut a piece of the green Festive Glimmer Paper 1cm x 7cm and adhere to the back of the banner with Glue Dots.
  8. Cut a Golden Woven Leaves in half and add to the back of the banner with Glue Dots on the lower left 7 upper right. Adhere this to the lower part of the circle on Dimensionals.
  9. Die cut three flowers [Country Birdhouse dies] in Pumpkin Pie cardstock and add with Glue Dots to the card.
  10. Finish off by adding some Brushed Brass Butterfly Embellishments and Adhesive-backed Sparkle Gems to the centre of each flower.
  11. On the inside a Basic White insert 10.5cm x 7.3cm with a strip of the floral DSP to carry over the design!

TIP: I cut a sheet of A4 cardstock down the centre at 10.5cm, then cut each of these into 7.4cm pieces, so I can get 8 inserts from one sheet of cardstock!

Fresh Freesia: Country Flowers Accordian Double Gatefold card

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 25 – Fresh Freesia

Today we mark the halfway point through our colours at Week 25!!! Which has been your favourite so far?!!

I am featuring the Country Flowers Bundle with the Country Woods Designer Series Paper (DSP) in this fun fold design. I have used Fresh Freesia, Misty Moonlight and Summer Splash as my main colour palette.

Accordian Double Gatefold card for Fresh Freesia Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024

Each of these pots are die cut in white card, but before removing the card, turn them over and run your stylus tip on the Take Your Pick Tool around the inside edge of the die for more definition. Then turn it over and use a Blending Brush to lightly add some ink to create that crisp white border. The flowers and leaves are stamped in Versamark ink, White WOW Emboss Powder added and melted with a Heat Tool. Colour the images using ink and a Water Painter. Around the edges, I added a light wash of Misty Moonlight to soften the harshness of the white edges.

Don’t you think that wood panelling of the Country Woods Designer Series Paper looks great in the background?!! The Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder was used on the Fresh Freesia panels.

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 23 – Early Espresso

Today I have something a little different… a 12″ x 12″ scrapbook layout for you!

Stampin’ Up! have recently welcomed the Close to my Heart family to join in recent months and with this some scrapbooking inspiration has returned to the Stampin’ Up! range and I am excited to be reinvigorated to scrapbook memories. This one today is of me and my girlfriends who have caught up most Friday mornings for many years, since our kiddos were in primary school and these A Little Latte Designer Series Papers were the perfect choice!

Latte Love Scrapbook Page for Early Espresso Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024

  • First, tear the edges of the Pool Party design on both sides and sponge the edges with Pecan Pie ink and adhere it to the Basic White 12″ x 12″ scrapbook page.
  • Layer the coffee bean design onto some Early Espresso cardstock and the heart design onto some Pecan Pie cardstock and lay these on the page to work out where to add the stamping of the coffee stains and splatter [Latte Love stamp set] in Early Espresso & Pecan Pie inks.
  • Once stamped then adhere these DSPs to the page.
  • Layer the 10cm x 10cm photo onto Basic White, Pool Party & Early Espresso cardstock and adhere to the page.
  • Die cut the Peacan Pie circle using the Spotlight on Nature dies and sponge the edges.
  • Die cut the three coffee cups from the Designer Paper and die cut the coffee pot using Pool Party, Early Espresso cardstock and Window Sheet for the glass, and the spoons from Silver Foil, then adhere these to the page.
  • Stamp the sentiment in Versamark ink, add White WOW Embossing powder, tap off the excess and melt it with your Heat Tool.
  • Die cut some leaves from Early Espresso cardstock using the Enduring Beauty dies and die cut the sentiment using the circle die and adhere these to your layout.
  • To finish off I added some Adhesive-backed Swirl Dots and put it into a White Frame to display.

Daffodil Delight: Full of Life Birthdays

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 22 – Daffodil Delight

Today I feature the Full of Life 6″ x 6″ DSP and the Alphabet A La Mode dies for this inlay technique.  I began with a 3″ strip of the DSP which I cut down to the length of my card and added Adhesive Sheet behind it. I placed the ‘birthday’ letters on top and held them in place with a large post it note so they didn’t move and ran it through my die cutting machine. I did the same on a piece of Black cardstock. I glued the DSP panel to a piece of Textured Metallic Specialty Foil Paper and glued it to the cardfront.

The letters were replaced with the black letters and because I didn’t want to waste the colourful letters, I recreated the card in reverse! On this second card, I mounted the black card onto some of the Gold Foil from the same Textured Metallic Specialty Paper pack! The ‘happy’ is stamed in Versamark ink, White WOW Emboss Powder added and melted with my Heat Tool.

On a Thick White card base, I stamped the large tree image twice in Basic Beige ink to give a watermark look. A strip of the designer paper with a small strip of Festive Glimmer above it, for a little sparkle, are adhered together. Some Linen Thread is wrapped around twice and tied in a bow. This is adhered to the lower half on the card.

The sentiment is stamped in Pecan Pie ink onto Crushed Curry cardstock and diecut with a banner from the Stlyish Shapes dies. This is adhered on Dimensionals to the card.

The tree is stamped in Pecan Pie ink before using the masks and Blending Brushes to colour the image. The trunk is Pecan Pie, while the leaves I started with Crushed Curry on the tops, followed by Lost Lagoon and then the final mask is Pretty Peacock ink. Once diecut, it was also added on Dimensionals. To finish off, some Pretty Peacock Tinsel Gems are added.

On the inside, a wide leftover strip of the DSP fits nicely down the right hand side, leaving enough space to write a message.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for inspiration using Daffodil Delight.

Please enjoy the wonderful inspiration of our next team member, Sharon Davern (it’s her all time favourite SU colour, hehe!!!).
