Crushed Curry: Watercolour Charming Day

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 18 – Crushed Curry

This handmade card features the Charming Day stamp set and the Greetings For All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack.

This sentiment is just perfect with these colours reminding me of glorious sunshine, and it sure would lift the spirits of the recipient. It could also be used for any occasion like a Birthday, Mother’s Day, Sympathy, Thinking of You or Just Beacause.

How you can re-create this card

1. Create the base – a Thick White card base, 21cm x 14.9cm, scored @ 10.5cm.

2. Stamp and colour – the largest image is stamped randomly onto some Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with Versamark ink. Gold WOW Emboss Powder is added and melted with my Heat Tool. I water coloured the images with the following inks: Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green & Mossy Meadow and left to dry.

3. Layering – Some Gold Twisted Thread is twice wrapped around the Watercolor layer before it is adhered to some Gold Foil, then onto the card base.

4. Add the sentiment – one of the sentiments from the Greetings For All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack is added on Dimensionals.

5. Finishing touches – stamp the image on the inside corner and on the envelope to complete the set.

Many of us also participate in the Heart of Christmas blog hop that goes live every Monday night, where we showcase Christmas inspiration in the lead up to Christmas and today, the NEW September – December Mini Catalogue is live and available for you to view online here. All the fabulous new products have been added to the online store for you to browse. This catalogue’s full of inspiration for you to share the joy of creativity with friends and family over the many celebrations and festivities that the next few months will bring. There’s gorgeous new suite collections, quick and easy projects and scrapbooking supplies.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for Daffodil Delight inspiration.

Beautiful Butterflies square card

This handmade card features  the Beautiful Butterflies products.

For this card, I began with a Basic White card base, and embossed the front with the Beautiful Butterflies Hybrid Embossing Folder. This not only embosses, but also die cuts the large butterfly at the same time, how cool is that!

I die cut [Beautiful Butterflies dies] the intricate piece from the 2024-2026 In Color™ Glimmer Specialty Paper.

Before adhering these to the card, I placed another diecut piece in Summer Splash cardstock into the hole where the white butterfly came from (see below). The adding the white and glimmer butterflies on top gluing through the centre so the wings can pop up. Some 2024-2026 In Color™ Shimmer Gems are added down the body. The sentiment is from the Greetings for All Mix & Match Euphemera Pack.

Wild Wheat: Peekaboo Arches Fun Fold card with Storybook Moments

Week 51 – Wild Wheat

This is the final colour in the Stampin’ Up! Collection. Next week we will start from the beginning of the alphabet, so please join me next Wednesday, but in the meantime, enjoy my Wild Wheat project.

This handmade card is a fun fold card using my favourite Everyday Arches dies and the Storybook Moments Suite Collection.

These gorgeous Beatrix Potter inspired products remind me of all the storybooks read to me as a child, they were my favourite, and I read them to my girls when they were little. I love how the front of the card has the arched window (remember Play School on ABC TV?!).

As you open up the card you are wow’d with more details and the die cut elements from the Storybook Moments Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.

The Storybook Friends and Storybook Garden Patch bundles are stamped, coloured and diecut and work perfectly with the patterned paper & more!

Close up of the Peter Rabbit image coloured with Stampin’ Blends Markers and the Colour Lifter dotted on to create the fur. It is so cute?!!!

on the back is where you write your message to the recipient!

I was inspired by Dawn Griffiths at The Glitter Pit (click for tutorial).

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday as I embark on the Stampin’ Up!  colours again, starting with our brand new 2025-2027 In Colors™.

Envelope Box Card

While all my Stampin’ Up! friends are in Brisbane at the #OnStage2025 3-day event, I was not so fortunate to be able to travel this time, but I will be stalking them all to see their excitement as they receive a copy of the new Annual Catalogue and share new product inspiration and amazing achievements.

Today’s fun fold card uses some new Online Exclusive products, the Lovely Garden Suite Collection. I am using only a couple of these items from the collection, the Lovely Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Thankful Garden stamp set.

Lovely Garden Suite #165541

This is a very similiar concept to the card in a box that was very popular a few years back.

All the flowers are fussy cut from the Designer paper pack and layered onto the card.

Here is a side view to see the beautiful layering.

I was inspired by Claire @ Created the Ottaway in the UK who called her design, an envelope flower card and you can find her YouTube tutorial here.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you visit again.

Garden Green: To Market Simple Layout Thank You Card & Triangle Giftbox

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 26 – Garden Green

Today I feature the To Market Designer Paper in this fun layout, using Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie and Basic White.

Thank You card To Market DSP for Garden Green Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024

How did I make it?

  1. Begin with a sheet of Garden Green cardstock cut to 29.7cm x 10.5cm, score @ 14.8cm to create a top folding portrait orientation standard sized card.
  2. Cut a piece of DSP 10cm x 14.2cm and cut in half down the centre. Flip one piece over the reveal the reverse pattern and glue them side by side to the card base.
  3. Cut another piece of DSP 7.5cm x 10.5cm and a matt layer of Garden Green card 8cm x 11cm and glue them together.
  4. Wrap some green Natural Tones Linen Thread around the right side three times and tie in a bow. Adhere this to the centre of the card on Dimensionals.
  5. Die cut a different floral pattern from the same DSP pack using a circle from the Spotlight on Nature dies and glue this to the previous layer, overhanging it slightly on the left.
  6. Diecut the Basic White banner [Stylish Shapes dies] and stamp the sentiment [Simply Said] in Garden Green ink.
  7. Cut a piece of the green Festive Glimmer Paper 1cm x 7cm and adhere to the back of the banner with Glue Dots.
  8. Cut a Golden Woven Leaves in half and add to the back of the banner with Glue Dots on the lower left 7 upper right. Adhere this to the lower part of the circle on Dimensionals.
  9. Die cut three flowers [Country Birdhouse dies] in Pumpkin Pie cardstock and add with Glue Dots to the card.
  10. Finish off by adding some Brushed Brass Butterfly Embellishments and Adhesive-backed Sparkle Gems to the centre of each flower.
  11. On the inside a Basic White insert 10.5cm x 7.3cm with a strip of the floral DSP to carry over the design!

TIP: I cut a sheet of A4 cardstock down the centre at 10.5cm, then cut each of these into 7.4cm pieces, so I can get 8 inserts from one sheet of cardstock!

Crushed Curry: Frosted Forest Thank You

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 21 – Crushed Curry

free shipping 18 sept 2024

Today I feature the Frosted Forest Bundle and the Meandering Meadows Designer Paper in this thank you card.

Forever Forest Thank you card for Crushed Curry Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024

On a Thick White card base, I stamped the large tree image twice in Basic Beige ink to give a watermark look. A strip of the designer paper with a small strip of Festive Glimmer above it, for a little sparkle, are adhered together. Some Linen Thread is wrapped around twice and tied in a bow. This is adhered to the lower half on the card.

The sentiment is stamped in Pecan Pie ink onto Crushed Curry cardstock and diecut with a banner from the Stlyish Shapes dies. This is adhered on Dimensionals to the card.

Forever Forest Thank you card for Crushed Curry Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024 close up

The tree is stamped in Pecan Pie ink before using the masks and Blending Brushes to colour the image. The trunk is Pecan Pie, while the leaves I started with Crushed Curry on the tops, followed by Lost Lagoon and then the final mask is Pretty Peacock ink. Once diecut, it was also added on Dimensionals. To finish off, some Pretty Peacock Tinsel Gems are added.

On the inside, a wide leftover strip of the DSP fits nicely down the right hand side, leaving enough space to write a message.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for inspiration using Daffodil Delight.

Please enjoy the wonderful inspiration of our next team member, Sharon Davern (it’s her all time favourite SU colour, hehe!!!).

Crumb Cake: Labeled with Love

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 20 – Crumb Cake

Today I feature the Labeled with Love stamp set in this soft feminine thank you card. I’ve been asked to make some thank you cards for teachers for the end of Year 12 for my eldest daughter.

A Thick Basic White card base with a layer of the pretty dry embossed background (Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder) which I splattered with my dark Crumb Cake Blends Marker (this photo is a little yellowish and looks more like Very Vanilla, but it is infact Basic White).

Labeled with Love Card for Crumb Cake Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024

A fellow SU Demonstrator, Melody Hyde, shared her idea of stamping the label image to create this medallion effect, by stamping once, rotating 90º, stamping again and repeating. I did this in Black Memento ink and then lightly coloured each section carefully with ink and a Water Painter. This was then die cut using a circle from the Stylish Shapes dies.

The flowers were stamped in Bubble Bath and the leaves in in Crumb Cake. This is fussy cut with Paper Snips and added to the medallion on dimensionals. Some smaller leaves from the Fluffiest Friends dies were cut in Crumb Cake cardstock and glued behind for extra interest.

Labeled with Love vintage card for Crumb Cake Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024

The sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake ink onto a white diecut from the Unbounded Love dies. Some Iridescent Pearls were coloured with Bubble Bath Blends Marker and added to the centre of each flower. A Linen Thread bow is added on a Glue Dot.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for inspiration using Crushed Curry.

Please enjoy the wonderful inspiration of our next team member, Rachel Palmieri.

Today I feature most of the products in the A Little Latte Suite Collection. It includes the Latte Love Bundle, A Little Latte Designer Series Paper, Adhesive-backed Swirl Dots and the Natural Polka Dot Trim (which I am not using today).

I love this fancy fold design and it works well with the elements in this suite.

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 45 – Shaded Spruce

Today’s card started off a little shaky to be honest. I find this green a little tricky to create with, but I knew I wanted to use this pretty vellum with the leaf pattern. The Shaded Spruce card base was folded in half then I cut the Scallop edge on the front. I took another piece of card and die cut the edge again a little further in so it created the double scallop edge and adhered it to the card front.

I took a Blending Brush and applied Shaded Spruce ink to the reverse side of the Vellum. I needed to have some white card behind it but it can be tricky when it comes to gluing to the card, without the glue showing through. I managed to do it by adding glue to the right side and placing a thin strip of Gold Foil over the top. I then glued it onto the card front butting it up too the edge of the Scallop Contours die. The left side of the vellum doesn’t have any glue behind it, so I notched the top and bottom with my 1/8″ circle punch (this helps hold the ribbon/twine in place) and wound some gold Simply Elegant Trim around and tied in a bow. A glue dot was placed under the bow to hold it in place.

Thank you card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2023 Shaded Spruce CCBH

The Something Fancy dies were used to cut the Regency Park DSP and frame behind the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment (Charming Sentiments) onto Night of Navy card in Versamark Ink, added Gold Emboss Powder and melted it with my Heat Tool. It was die cut using the coordinating dies (Sentiment Silhouettes) and popped up on Mini Dimensionals.

On the inside I placed a strip of the Regency Park Designer Series Paper down the right side and placed a smaller piece of white card with some gold foil.

I find this all really dark and it did not exactly please me, so I went about creating a softer and more subtle, feminine card.

I made a card a couple of weeks ago with a similar effect, but this week I have cut the card to create more of a picket fence look. I am using a couple of the In Colours that are due to retire at the end of May; Fresh Freesia & Polished Pink.

Framed Florets on a picket fence by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2023

The Framed Florets Bundle was used to stamp many flowers in Versamark ink, White Emboss Powder added and melted with the Heat Tool. I water coloured them with Shaded Spruce, Polished Pink and Fresh Freesia inks. I watered down some Shaded Spruce ink and added it to some Thick Basic White paper. Once dry, I die cut some leaves. Some Open Weave Polished Pink Ribbon and White Crinkled Ribbon was cut in half and added between the layers of flowers. The sentiment is embossed in white onto Fresh Freesia card. Some Iridescent Basic Pearls were added for that extra feminine touch!
