Anzac Day broach made from paper!

Dear Crafters,

Anzac Day is a time for the community to come together to remember and recognise the service and sacrifice of members of the Australian Defence Force. Originally a commemoration of the landing of Australian and New Zealand forces on Gallipoli on 25 April 1915, Anzac Day is a public expression of gratitude and reflection resonates to the present day.

Anzac-day.jpg

So today, in memory of the ANZACs, I have made my own Red Poppy to pin on my top!

ANZAC poppy broach using Stampin Up Pansy punch by Kate Morgan, Australia

I used the Pansy punch, which unfortunately is retiring soon, and punched 3 x Real Red flowers. I used my bone folder to curl the petals and to loosen the fibres of the card so it becomes more pliable. I then used a retired punch (cannot remember what set it was from) for the black centre. I used the Piercing mat and tool to put a hole through the centre then joined them together with a black split pin. I glued a small magnet to the back so I could then add it to my top without piercing the material, by adding a magnet inside my top to hold it on!

Here’s s closer look!

Birthday, Designer/Patterned/Specialty Papers (DSP), Handmade Cards, Kids Cards, Mini Catalogue and Sale-a-bration (SAB), Retired Products Lists, Stampin' Up!

Quick and Easy Birthday Cards

Dear Crafters,

Today I share 4 cards that are quick and easy to create using the Picture Perfect Party 6×6 Designer Series Paper stack. For these 4 cards, I have only used 2 of the sheets of DSP. One side of these papers are photographic shots and they are so life-like!

This card uses Peekaboo Peach for the card base and the sentiment. Glue a 3″ strip of DSP across the centre of the card. Stamp the sentiment from Rose Wonder stamp set onto the balloon. Add two strips of the Bermuda Bay Mini Chevron ribbon and tie a bow!

This card uses Berry Burst for the card base and the sentiment. Glue a 3″ strip of DSP across the centre of the card. Stamp the sentiment from Rose Wonder stamp set onto the balloon. Add a piece of the Lemon Lime Twist Mini Striped ribbon and tie a bow!

This card uses Basic Black for the card base. Glue a piece of 3¾” x 5½” DSP to the centre of the card. Stamp the sentiment from Number of Years stamp set onto the 4″ x 1½” vellum in Berry Burst ink. Die cut the number 9 using the Large Numbers dies in Berry Burst card. Using a sponge dauber, apply a thin layer of Tombo Multipurpose glue. This is the only way to add vellum without the glue showing through! Add the 9 with mini dimensionals.

This card uses Lemon Lime Twist for the card base. Use a 2½” strip of DSP across the centre of the card, but add the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch out behind before gluing to the card. Add a piece of Berry Burt Metallic edged ribbon across the bottom of the DSP then tie a bow and glue it on! Die cut the numbers using the Large Numbers dies from Silver Glimmer card and add with mini dimensionals.

I cannot believe that the Number of Years stamp set and the coordinating dies are about to retire 😦 I use them all the time for kids birthday cards and if you too haven’t purchased them yet, make sure you add them to your shopping cart before they are gone!

Versamark Resist Technique with Paint Play

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a card using the Versamark resist technique, also known as ‘Ghosting’. It is really simple but effective. Start with glossy white card and stamp the flowers with Versamark ink. Let it sit for a few minutes, while you score your Night of Navy card and cut a strip of Berry Burst and Powder pink. Glue these together and then stamp the sentiment for the retiring Butterfly Basics stamp set in Night of Navy ink.

Versamark Resist Technique using Stampin Up Butterfly Basics, Paint Play by Kate Morgan, Australia

Now the glossy card has had a bit of time to rest, it will still be sticky, but you can now go and ink up the sponge brayer and apply across the entire gloss card. Once you have the desired coverage, using a piece of paper towel, rub in circular motions to remove the ink from the versamark images. Cut the glossy card down to size and glue to the base card. Add the sentiment strip.

To finish it off, I added some of the Glitter enamel dots, they are so divine and add that little bit of sparkle. I also added a Berry Burst Bitty Bow.

Both of the stamp sets and the embellishments will be retiring and are only available while stocks last. Be sure to add them to your shopping cart now.

Petal Passion Embellishment Earrings for a Silver Advancement

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a gift I made for one of my team members, Amie, who promoted to Silver last month! I am so proud of her and all of her achievements.

Petal Passion Embellishment earrings for Silver promotion Stampin Up by Kate Morgan, Craft with Kate, Australia.

I made these Silver earrings using the Petal Passion Embellishments. Then I was thinking, how am I going to send them across to the other side of the country safely. So I made this gift holder using the Envelope punch board and put the earrings inside. When you open it up, the earrings slide up. The silver ribbon is retired, but it was perfect for my project.

Really going to miss this little bunny…

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a card using mainly products that will be retiring on 31 May and will be selling fast over the coming weeks.

Here is one of my favourite colour combinations and two of these will be retiring 😦

I was a bit sad that this cute little bunny stamp set was retiring, but it is one that I will be hanging on to. It is so versatile, it is great for baby cards as well as Easter!

Sweet Little Something Bunny card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia.JPG

It may be easier to tell you what product isn’t retiring (not including tools, eg Big Shot): whisper white cardstock, classic label punch and the sahara sand, crumb cake & soft suede inks. That’s all, everything else is only available while stocks last!

I am really going to miss those Lots of Labels dies too, I use them loads 😦

I did use the Stamparatus to stamp the bunny as I made a few of these cards. It’s so much quicker to have the stamps lined up and then you just change the plates each time to stamp. More on that though once the Stamparatus is available on 1 June 🙂

The sponging around the edge of the die cut was done with Pink Pirouette and then a lighter layer of Rose Red just on the edges. Isn’t is pretty?!!!

OnStage Sneak Peek

#OnStage2018.JPG

Dear Crafters,

Well, I think I have finally recovered from all the excitement of OnStage in Sydney, however I am still scanning the pages of the new annual catalogue. But, I did place a Product Purchase Premiere order yesterday, which is a limited list of products only available to those demonstrators who attend a live event.

I have to say, there was information overload with the extra Colour Revamp! Yes, there are 13 colours retiring along with the InColours and lots of new ones coming, and some of them are to die for!!!! Lovely Lipstick being one of them and my favourite 😉

in-colours.jpg

and the new colours are:

There are also some returning Retired colours, so lets look at the entire colour collection!

You may notice many ‘current’ colour inkpads in the last chance products… that is because the case is a new, more intuitive design, easier to open and they stack on top of each other, plus they’ve improved the formula of the ink, as well!

Last Chance Products are available until 31st May or while stocks last.

Dream Catcher card using Mini Embroidery Hoops

Dear Crafters,

Well, I’m back from OnStage in Sydney and boy, what an exciting catalogue is coming our way in June! You are going to love it and there are so many awesome new products, I don’t know what will be at the top of my shopping list, I want it all 🙂

Today I have a card for a friend who loves Dream Catchers and I had a couple of these Embroidery Hoops that I bought because they were cute but I didn’t know how to use them! Have you done that? Bought something and then struggle to use it?

I know the doily and the baker’s twine have retired, but I need to start using up some of these products before they retire next time. I keep buying and storing product away for a special card, but I need to stop and use them now…. lol

I cut the doily down to fit the mini embroidery hoop, as it was much bigger and then I added strands of baker’s twine and one of the cute tassels from the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit (Occasions 2018 catalogue).

Stamparatus Storage with Monogram Tag

Dear Crafters,

I’m popping in this morning for this brief post, as I’m heading to Sydney this morning for the OnStage event tomorrow at Luna Park!

I won’t be able to share all the excitement until Tuesday when the spoiler alert ban is lifted, but I’m certain there will be lots of new product and gorgeous goodies in the upcoming Annual catalogue, a copy of which I will get my hands on tomorrow!

Today I share something I have created for Bev who is going to Sydney with me. We usually make swaps (card fronts) to take to these events to swap with other demonstrator friends, but I completely ran out of time with work being so busy and with Easter on top of that 😦

You may remember I posted earlier in the week with a different form of storage for the Stamparatus to sit on your desk, you can see it here if you missed it, but today I have this idea for travelling with your Stamparatus!

Luckily I managed to get my hands on a couple of these toiletry bags from Kmart which are the perfect size and storage idea to fit our new Stamparatus. I’m guessing there will be many others who rush out and purchase one, and they only come in black, so I needed to find a way to make them our own, and what better way than with a Monogram tag!

Shrink plastic Monogram tag for Stamparatus storage using Stampin Up Large Letters, Bloomin Love by Kate Morgan, Craft with Kate, Australia.JPG

First of all, I die cut the 3rd largest die from the Lots of Labels Framelits and cut the shape from Shrink Plastic (or shrinky dinks), then punch a hole at one end. It’s critical you do this before heating and shrinking it! Next, stamp your images. I’ve used Basic Black archival ink for the large letter and Pumpkin Pie ink to stamp the heart from the Bloomin’ Love stamp set. Then let the magic begin as you heat it with your heat tool and watch it shrink!

Here’s a closer look.

and here is the toiletry bag open…. it actually could hold 2 Stamparatus if you had them, as an easier way to transport them to Workshops outside of your home!

Shrink plastic Monogram tag for Stamparatus storage using Stampin Up Large Letters by Kate Morgan, Craft with Kate, Australia

and once I made Bev’s, I had to make one for myself, of course!  I love butterflies, so I stamped them in Bermuda Bay ink. The small mobile phone lanyards were purchased on eBay.

Heart of Happiness

Dear Crafters,

It’s getting exciting now, as many Stampin’ Up! demonstrators are heading away this week for the OnStage events around the country. I am heading to Sydney on Friday afternoon for Saturday’s event at Luna Park. We will be honoured to have Sara Douglass, CEO of Stampin’ Up! at our event, so we are very lucky to have her host our event.

I won’t be able to share any of the fun until Tuesday 10th April when the spoiler alert ban is lifted, but this event is where we get to see lots of new product that will be in the upcoming Annual catalogue. It is such an exciting time of year!

Today I share some more hearts from the Heart Happiness and Sure Do Love You Bundle in the Occasions catalogue. Even though Sale-a-bration is over for another year, the Occasions catalogue still runs through to the end of May!

I love how these stamp sets coordinate and can be used for so many different things, not just Valentines Day. Today’s card can be used for a Birthday or a thank you…. with the sentiment, Just for you, it can be anything you want it to be.

Heart Happiness & Sure Do Love You Bundle Stampin Up Occasions 2018 by Kate Morgan, Craft with Kate, Australia.

I love this colour combination of Powder Pink, Melon Mambo and Whisper White together. By just adding some simple layers, you can create a wonderful effect. The tiny hearts are stamped to create a more interesting background.

and that Decorative Ribbon Border Punch adds extra interest.
