Faux Wood Grain with Daisy Delight

Dear Crafters,

Today I have a new technique that I haven’t tried before and I was pretty happy with how it turned out.

I am using the Daisy Delight Bundle and the Faux Wood Grain Technique.

Can you tell I am just loving this bundle?!!! It is unbelievable value at under $55 for the stamp set and coordinating punch!

Anyway, here is my card. I love the look and simplicity of this. I haven’t added a sentiment, because truthfully, I don’t think it needs one and I can just write inside the card.

I love how the vellum adds a touch of softness, rather than a solid colour and that ribbon, wow, it is gorgeous to work with!

To see how to create the faux wood grain technique, head over to YouTube to see Carolyn Bennie demonstrate this amazing technique. I just love how every time you try it, it looks so different.

I adore this colour combination too!

For best results with the Colour block, ensure you have a clean clear D block and a pierce mat under the cardstock when stamping.

Posy of Gerberas with Stampin’ Up! Daisy Delight

Dear Crafters,

Today I have a gorgeous posy of flowers made out of paper, yes paper, and if you come along to my class tomorrow, I’ll show you how to make them!

I had my mum call in yesterday and she couldn’t believe that they weren’t real flowers!

You know when you walk into a florist to buy a bunch of flowers and you nearly fall over at the price of them? Well, this Daisy Delight bundle is a great bargain for $54.75 which is probably what many spend on buying a bunch of flowers that will die in a weeks time, but these ones you can keep for a lifetime and enjoy making many more for all your friends for their birthdays!!!! Wouldn’t that be such a wonderful gift to receive?!!!

Daisy Delight by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator, Rowville 3D

Each flower is made up of 3 stamped and punched flowers and offset when glued together. I also used my bone folder to turn the ends of the petals down.

The stems of the flowers are made using cheap plastic drinking straws that I had in the kitchen cupboard, and I covered them with florists tape.

Daisy Delight by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator, Rowville 3D back.JPG

This is the back of the flower. You can see that the straw has been cut 5 times about 1/2cm down and opened up. This was glued with Tombo Multipurpose glue to the back of the flower. It didn’t look aesthetically pleasing, so I then cut a ring using the 3/8″ and 3/4″ circle punches to cover it and also make it more sturdy!

Daisy Delight by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator, Rowville 3D posy

The greenery was something I have had for many years and it goes so well with these gerberas!

What do you think? These are just so bright and cheery and I reckon they would make the perfect gifts for anyone to brighten their day!

A shaker card for Mum!

Dear Crafters,

Today, I have the Mother’s Day card that I made for my mum, featuring the new Delightful Daisy Designer Series paper from the soon to be released Annual catalogue. My new motto is going to be #cutitnothoardit

I have also used the Large Letter framelits that you can get in a bundle saving you 10% but this is only until 31st May. They will be in the new Annual catalogue, but you cannot get it as a bundle, so get yours today by clicking here, you won’t be disappointed!

Letters for You Photopolymer Bundle

Anyway, are you ready to see my shaker card?!!!

I am absolutely in love with the new Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper which will be available to order on 1 June 2017.

The sequins on the inside are the old 2013-2015 In Colour sequin pack, but they actually coordinate quite well with the colours in this DSP!

The large letter framelits were used to create the negative image for the front of the card, creating the shaker section…. but I also used the positive images for the inside of the card! No waste in this house!!!! lol

The sentiment, Happy Mother’s Day is from the Crazy About You stamp set and the flowers stamped on the MUM dies cuts is from brand new Colourful Seasons stamp set.

Art With Heart Team Blog Hop: Annual Catalogue Sneak Peeks

art-with-heart-team-blog-hop-logo-currentDear Crafters,

Tonight I am participating in a blog hop along with the super talented ladies in the Art With Heart Team. We thought it  would be fun to share some fabulous ideas to inspire you from our brand new 2017-2018 annual catalogue, which is available 1st June.

Be sure to request your copy of the catalogue today!

Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

For my projects, I have used the Colorful Seasons suite, Colorful Seasons stamp set and Seasonal Layers thinlits dies (page 147 of new annual catalogue). I love how this bundle has so many items to be able to create a project for any season. There are 24 stamps in this stamp set; sentiments, flowers, leaves, branches, snowflakes and more!

Autumn – I have used Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango and Chocolate Chip. The material of the sun chair was stamped using the kissing technique with the wavy stamp from the set, Work of Art! I stamped the sentiment in Daffodil Delight, but it needed something, so I also stamped in Pumpkin Pie, but slightly offsetting it for a shadow effect.

Autumn - Colourful Season & Seasonal Layers Thinlits by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up demonstrator, Australia

Spring – I have used Powder Pink, Sweet Sugarplum, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White. The blossoms were stamped with Powder Pink and Sweet Sugarplum inks and die cut. The second one is a stamped off version of Sweet Sugarplum! I just love this colour combination and I could certainly see myself sitting on this chair enjoying a drink under the cherry blossoms 🙂

Winter – I have used Dapper Denim, Soft Sky and Whisper White with some Silver Glimmer of course! The snowflakes are stamped in Dapper Denim and stamped off a 2nd and 3rd time to get the gradient in the colour. I have also used some of the new Glitter Enamel Dots; how stunning are they?!!!!

Don’t forget to email me at craftwithkate@live.com.au to request your copy of any Catalogue or to ask about joining the Art With Heart team.

The flamingo is stamped with Memento Black, Flirty Flamingo and Powder Pink inks.  The sentiment was stamped and cut out using the new Pretty Label punch. Then we cut 2 more of the punch pieces in Flirty Flamingo card and off set them behind the white one to create the layered effect.
