Week 35 – Misty Moonlight

2025 Jan-April Mini Catalogue Cover 2025 SAB Cover

2025 January Scrapbooking Brochure cover

Today I feature the For the Books bundle in the new 2025 Jan-Apr Mini catalogue with this cool bookmark card; a gift within the card (cased idea from Cards by Juliet).

Some Timeless Plaid DSP is added to the front left panel and the Fun Patterns Embossing Folder (currently on sale in the Last Chance Products) is used on the right panel. The little book is die cut (Misty Moonlight and Basic White) and the little tassels (Basic White & Calypso Coral) are added on some Gold Twisted Thread. The sentiment is stamped onto an Everyday Arches die (new in Online Exclusives).

The bookmark slides out from the hidden panel on the front of the card. I stamped the images first and then used my Light Crumb Cake Blends Marker to draw lines for the shelves.

On the inside the sentiment and images are stamped and then coloured using a Blender Pen.

To use Blender Pens

  1. Stamp an image in Tuxedo Black Memento ink or Jet Black StāzOn ink on Basic White Cardstock. Allow the ink to dry.
  2. Squeeze a Classic Stampin’ Pad in the middle to transfer some ink to the inside of the lid (or you can use Classic Stampin’ Ink Refills).
  3. Pick up some ink with your Blender Pen and colour your image. Add more ink for darker shades.
  4. When changing colours or finishing your project, clean the Blender Pen by simply scribbling on scrap paper until there’s no more colour transferring from the pen.

Artist Tips

  • Blender Pens may stain, but that won’t affect the results. Reuse them again and again!
  • Blender Pens give you a watercolour effect, but they don’t saturate the paper like Water Painters can.
  • Blender Pens give you more colour options than Watercolor Pencils because they can be used with any Classic Stampin’ Ink.
  • Blender Pens provide a less-intense result than Stampin’ Blends.
  • Blender Pens were a perfect fit for the books in the For the Books Stamp Set because their fine tips work well with smaller images and details.

As a bonus, when you spend $100+ you get to select free product from the Saleabration brochure. This card showcases two of the free products; Bloom Impressions Designer Paper and the Pick a Season stamp set.

Melon Mambo: Cake Celebrations Birthday Spanner card

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 34 – Melon Mambo

Today I feature a fun fold portrait spanner card. It is simply a portrait folding card and the two sides of the card front are cut at 1.5cm to the centre scoreline. Once decorated, add the sentiment that adheres across the cardfront, but only glued to the two side strips creating the spanner. Scroll on to see how it opens!

Feminine Birthday portrait spanner card using Stampin Up Cake Celebrations and Marbled Elegance SDSP for Melon Mambo Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan Australia 2024

I have used the Online Exclusives bundle, Cake Celebrations with the Marbled Elegance Specialty DSP because it is so gorgeous!

Feminine Birthday portrait spanner card using Stampin Up Cake Celebrations and Marbled Elegance SDSP for Melon Mambo Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan Australia 2024 close up

To create the cake, I die cut the larger cake piece in Basic White and used the largest Water Painter to pick up some ink from the lid of my Melon Mambo ink pad, creating that brushed look of icing on a cake. The frosting was also die cut from Basic White crd and adhered to the top of the cake, but then I added a thick layer of White Pearlised Enamel Effects and how good does it look?!!! The banner and the cake stand are die cut in Gold Foil for more glamour! These sit on a Basic White circle from the Stylish Shapes dies.

When you open the top layer, you can see how the sentiment is adhered holding the front together.

Fold up the next layer to reveal the inside where there is plenty of room to write your message between the strips of designer paper.

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 31 – Lemon Lime Twist

Today I feature a side step card design with the Country Woods DSP and the Country Flowers bundle.

Country Flowers Side Step card for Lemon Lime Twist Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

I’m not sure if you can see it clearly in the photo, but there is stitching of White Baker’s Twine on the left panel. I die cut the two long dies (Everyday Details dies) that look like rows of dots (see below).

Everyday Details dies

I used a needle to thread the twine and it adds extra texture to the card. The pieces of patterned paper in the background are coloured around the edges with Lemon Lime Twist ink using Blending Brushes.

The two pots are also patterned paper and the one above is stamped in Smoky Slate ink. The flowers and leaves are die cut from Basic White card and coloured with Blends Combo Markers; Bubble Bath, Granny Apple Green,  Lemon Lime Twist & Petunia Pop. The stool is coloured with Grey Granite & Smoky Slate. The Iridescent Jewels in the flower centres are coloured with the Dark Lemon Lime Twist Blends Marker.

Gray Granite: Otterly Amazing cards

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 29 – Gray Granite

Today I feature the Otterly Amazing bundle and the Otterly Adorable Designer Series Paper (new to the Online Exclusives section of the store).

OTTERLY ADORABLE SUITE COLLECTION164939
OTTERLY ADORABLE SUITE COLLECTION 164939

As you can see above, there are some adorable full page 12 x 12 patterned sheets and I have cut one up to create this first card, a simple single layer card. The card base is Gray Granite and then I inked the edges of the patterned paper with my Gray Granite ink pad, added Clear Emboss Powder and melted with my heat tool. This adds a lovely soft border without adding extra cardstock bulk to my card. A piece of the soft Loft Lagoon Soft Cording is wrapped around and tied in a bow.

Otterly Amazing single layer card for Gray Granite Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024

Can you see the glisten of the water? I used an old Water Painter and some Versamark refill ink to paint over the water before adding Clear Emboss Powder then melted with my heat tool. This added a bit of wow to a simple single layer card.

Otterly Amazing single layer card glistening water for Gray Granite Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024

on the inside a simple white panel and a diecut otter from the DSP. How cute is he?!!

Card 2 is for the casual crafter, more of a stepped up card but not difficult to create. Using the patterned papers really helped creating the scene, and the otters are diecut from the papers – how cool is that?! The extra plant life is cut from Pretty Peacock and Garden Green cardstock and the rocks from Gray Granite.

Otterly Amazing Stepper card for Gray Granite Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024

Here is a close up of the sentiment that is heat embossed with White WOW Emboss powder. I have used a white gelly roll pen to add some detail to the rocks and around the sentiment. Some Riverside Irregular Pearls were added.

Granny Apple Green: Country Birdhouse Pop Up Standing Card

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 28 – Granny Apple Green

Today I feature a fun fold card using very earthy tones this week. I find Granny Apple Green a very bright tone, so I used it by adding ink blending around the outer edges of the Country Woods designer paper layer. The Country Birdhouse stamps and coordinating dies were used to stamp the birdhouse, and two birds in Black Memento ink and I die cut the elements to embellish the card.  The base was dry embossed with my favourite Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder.

Country Birdhouse Pop Up Standing card for Granny Apple Green Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024

The sentiment and die cut piece is from the Unbounded Love bundle.

The birdhouse is coloured with Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers; Pecan Pie and the Natural Tones Collection of Deep Combo (SU100), Medium Combo (SU500), Medium Light (SU700) & Light Combo (SU900).

Country Birdhouse Pop Up Standing card for Granny Apple Green Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024 side

The birds and leaves are also coloured with Blends Markers; Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green & Soft Sea Foam. The perch and the bow are cut from Early Espresso cardstock. The perch is glued into the centre of the base and the bird attached with a glue dot.

You may be wondering “how do I mail it”? Well, the bottom section folds up so it fits into a C6 envelope!

Heart of Christmas Week 14: Reindeer Days Fun fold card and scrapbook layouts

Heart of Christmas Header 2024 - 1

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

Week 14

Today I feature the the Reindeer Fun bundle and coordinating Reindeer Days DSP (designer paper) in this fun fold design. The two largest circles from the Stylish Shapes dies were used to die cut the circles. The largest one is cut through the card front after the deigner paper was added. The smaller one is a Basic White layer ink blended with Granny Apple Green. The sentiment is stamped in Garden Green ink to bring in the colour from the designer paper.

Reindeer Fun Fun Fold card Week 14 HOC by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

The layers of the Reindeer are Early Espresso, Pecan Pie, Basic Beige and Festive Glimmer for Rudolph’s nose! The wreath is Granny Apple Green with a Real Red bow and swome Iridescent Adhesive-backed Discs.

Reindeer Fun Fun Fold card Week 14 HOC by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024 detail

Once the Basic White insert is added and decorated with deigner paper, the circle feature can be glued through the card front by adding glue only to the right half of the circle. This then forms the pop out feature.

Reindeer Fun Fun Fold card Week 14 HOC by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024 open

Using the same suite of products and the additional Reindeer Memories Sticker Sheet, I’ve created four scrapbook pages ready to stick my Christmas Day photos into!

This double page layout also has some piecing to them. I traced around a paper plate with a pencil and used my piecing tool in the Take Your Pick Tool and the Piercing Mat to add the holes.

Reindeer Memories Scrapbook Page 1 Week 14 HOC by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

You can see the piercing more on this layout.

Reindeer Memories Scrapbook Page 2 Week 14 HOC by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

These next two pages use a piece of Country Woods DSP as their base. This one has the tab in the top corner for adding journalling an a large photo. Most of those deer have been fussy cut from the Reindeer Days Designer Paper. While recovering from surgery and not being allowed to do too much, this was a great way to pass the time away productively.

Reindeer Memories Scrapbook Page 3 Week 14 HOC by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

This page I have room for three photos and the top left is for journalling.

Gorgeous Grape: Painted Lavender Double Door Pop Up card

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 27 – Gorgeous Grape

Today I feature the Painted Lavender stamp set and coordinating dies with the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper (DSP) in a fun fold design.

Colour Combination - Gorgeous Grape

The front feature is stamped in second generation ink, meaning I stamped off on scrap paper before applying to the card. I also stamped this same image in full strength onto Basic White card and die cut it to add over the top on Dimensionals. The greenery is die cut in white and Pretty Peacock ink applied with a blending brush. Gorgeous Grape ink is also applied around all edges of the white layer. The lavender and butterflies have Wink of Stella on them for some sparkle.

Painted Lavender Double Door Pop Up card for Gorgeous Grape Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024

As you open the centre panel, it reveals two beautiful Gorgeous Grape doors, dry embossed with one of the Fun Patterns Embossing Folders.

Then continue to open to find a stamped panel, with some more images from the stamp set. These are coloured with Fresh Freesia, Gorgeous Grape and Pretty Peacock, but wait, there is more. Open that panel up to reveal your message and some more gorgeous stamped images!

I haven’t put any sentiments on this card, as I’ll add the appropriate ones at the time when I know who I’m sending this to.  I cased this design from Karen Philipp, a US Demonstrator.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for inspiration using Granny Apple Green.

Please enjoy the wonderful inspiration of our amazing blog hop organiser, Cathy Proctor.

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 26 – Garden Green

Today I feature the To Market Designer Paper in this fun layout, using Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie and Basic White.

Thank You card To Market DSP for Garden Green Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024

How did I make it?

  1. Begin with a sheet of Garden Green cardstock cut to 29.7cm x 10.5cm, score @ 14.8cm to create a top folding portrait orientation standard sized card.
  2. Cut a piece of DSP 10cm x 14.2cm and cut in half down the centre. Flip one piece over the reveal the reverse pattern and glue them side by side to the card base.
  3. Cut another piece of DSP 7.5cm x 10.5cm and a matt layer of Garden Green card 8cm x 11cm and glue them together.
  4. Wrap some green Natural Tones Linen Thread around the right side three times and tie in a bow. Adhere this to the centre of the card on Dimensionals.
  5. Die cut a different floral pattern from the same DSP pack using a circle from the Spotlight on Nature dies and glue this to the previous layer, overhanging it slightly on the left.
  6. Diecut the Basic White banner [Stylish Shapes dies] and stamp the sentiment [Simply Said] in Garden Green ink.
  7. Cut a piece of the green Festive Glimmer Paper 1cm x 7cm and adhere to the back of the banner with Glue Dots.
  8. Cut a Golden Woven Leaves in half and add to the back of the banner with Glue Dots on the lower left 7 upper right. Adhere this to the lower part of the circle on Dimensionals.
  9. Die cut three flowers [Country Birdhouse dies] in Pumpkin Pie cardstock and add with Glue Dots to the card.
  10. Finish off by adding some Brushed Brass Butterfly Embellishments and Adhesive-backed Sparkle Gems to the centre of each flower.
  11. On the inside a Basic White insert 10.5cm x 7.3cm with a strip of the floral DSP to carry over the design!

TIP: I cut a sheet of A4 cardstock down the centre at 10.5cm, then cut each of these into 7.4cm pieces, so I can get 8 inserts from one sheet of cardstock!
