Birthday, Masculine, Stampin' Up!

Hope your day is on cloud nine

Dear Crafters,

Today, I am flying to Sydney for the Stampin’ Up! OnStage Local event to be held tomorrow at Luna Park!  I am very excited, as this is the launch of the brand new Annual Catalogue, and only those demonstrators who attend the event, get to see the catalogue before anyone else. Also, I have a little secret to share… I am also one of the display stampers! Yes, I have been busy creating for the past couple of weeks with brand new catalogue items that no one has seen. I am very nervous about displaying my projects, but I am sure they will be okay 😉

When I return home, I will be able to share some pics of my displays with you, but not until Tuesday 11th April, so make sure you tune in then!

So today’s card with the sentiment Hope your day is on cloud nine, is kind of appropriate, as that is how we will be feeling tomorrow as we get that catalogue in our hands!!!!!

Lift Me Up Hot Air Balloons Masculine card by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Australia. Occasions 2017

I love the simplicity of this card and the colours coordinate so well. We made this in my class on Saturday and the ladies loved it.

The colours are: Dapper Denim, Crumb Cake, Soft Sky & Very Vanilla

I wasn’t sure about adding a bow to this card, seeing as it was masculine, so we added a little linen thread tied in a knot…. perfect!

Birthday, feminine, Flowers, Stampin' Up!

Awesomely Artistic with a bee!

Dear Crafters,

Today, I am mixing up a couple of stamp sets; Dragonfly Dreams, Awesomely Artistic along with the Window Box thinlits dies.

Awesomely Artistic, Dragonfly Dreams, Window Box thinlits by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up demonstrator Melbourne #Occasions2017 Saleabration2017

The white card is sponged along the edges with Crushed Curry ink to soften them.

Next I stamped the flower image with Smoky Slate ink and used my AquaPainter with inks to colour the flowers and leaves.

A small strip of glimmer paper was then added. The vellum is die cut with the Window Box Framelits die and attached to a circle of crushed curry cut with the 2″ circle punch. I embossed it with the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I also added some gold metallic thread behind the circle before adhering to the vellum with Fast Fuse to hold it all in place firmly. The little bee was added last!

Handmade Cards, Stampin' Up!

To a wonderful friend…

Dear Crafters,

Although Sale-a-bration has ended, the Occasions and Annual catalogues are jammed packed with gorgeous products, that I never want them to end.

Today, I am focusing on the stunning Dragonfly Dreams stamp set, however, I am not using the dragonfly images, but the little bee!

To a wonderful friend using Stampin Ups Dragonfly Dreams by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up demonstrator Melbourne #Occasions2017

I stamped the bee image all over the Tip Top Taupe card base in Memento Black ink.

I also stamped the bee again onto the oval die cut from the Stitched Shapes Framelits. The sentiment is also stamped in black.

To a wonderful friend using Stampin Ups Dragonfly Dreams by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up demonstrator Melbourne #Occasions2017 closeup

The bee was coloured using the ink pads and blender pens.

I think the burlap ribbon gives the card a bit of a natural feel to the card.

Hoppy Easter: Art with Heart Blog Hop

art-with-heart-team-blog-hop-logo-currentDear Crafters,

Today I am participating in a blog hop along with the super talented ladies in the Art With Heart Team. We thought it would be fun to share some Easter projects, seeing as Easter is only about 3 weeks away!

Sale-a-bration continues, but must end on 31st March, so to earn your free item, just place a minimum $90 order – ask me how!

Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links. You have come to me from our team leader, Claire Daly!

Now let’s get started!

For my projects, I have used the Sale-a-bration stamp set, Hey Chick!

IMG_4790.JPG

Here is another little Easter Treat Basket using the Window Box thinlits dies. I adore how versatile these thinlits are for so many projects, from gift boxes to these cute little baskets which hold three hollow eggs!

Easter Treat Basket using Stampin Ups Window Box thinlits & Any Occasion stamp set by Kate Morgan Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator Australia 3D DIY Occasions 2017 Saleabration 2017

To create this one, you cut two of the box shapes and join them together, but then you only need half of the hexagon shape, so cut these in half. I also removed the tabs from either end (top and bottom of pic). Then cut a strip for the handle. Super easy to create! The sentiment is from the Saleabration, Any Occasion stamp set.

Easter Treat Basket using Stampin Ups Window Box thinlits by Kate Morgan Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator Australia 3D DIY Occasions 2017.JPG

This next one is using the same idea but I die cut the stripes into the side and used those strips to create a basket weave effect.

Easter Basket using Stampin' Ups Window Box Thinlits by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia. Occasions 2017 3D DIY

The card uses the Circle of Spring stamp set and the coordinating Wonderful Wreath framelits dies from the Annual catalogue. To create the background,I inked up one side of the Petal Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, placed the Sahara Sand cardstock inside, closed it and rubbed over the top to create the pattern. I also sponged the edges and die cut a circle behind the wreath so the sentiment would shine through!

The Stampin’ Write Markers (Mint Macaron, Sweet Sugarplum, Flirty Flamingo & Peekaboo Peach) were used to colour the wreath for a bold and bright look!

Thanks for visiting today.

Succulent Garden Suite

Dear Crafters,

Today I have created a card using the Succulent Garden Suite. I have to say, I was very happy with how this turned out, as it was reasonably quick to create and I can see myself making loads more in this simple, but effective layout. The flower was what took the time, but once you have made one, you can put them together quite fast.

Succulent Garden Suite by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Australia. #occasions2017 DIY 3D Glimmer 1

The succulent is made of 2 of each of the 3 largest petals and 2 of the smaller daisy type dies. I sponged the edges with Rich Razzleberry ink using a sponge dauber. A bone folder was used to curl the edges under before joining the flowers together. I found by putting the flowers together in pairs first and then each of the 4 pairs together to make the one giant flower was the easiest!

Succulent Garden Suite by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Australia. #occasions2017 DIY 3D Glimmer sponged

The Designer Series Paper is double sided, so I cut one piece to be 14.5cm x 10cm, then I cut it through the centre at about 8cm, turned one piece over and joined them together on the card! This is a very quick and effective way to decorate the background. Then I added a strip of glimmer paper over the join.

Everyday Hero, Super Mum!

Dear Crafters,

Today I have a Super hero card, but instead of the usual bright primary colours, I have used Sweet Sugarplum and more feminine colours to create a card for the super mum!

I love the street scene stamped across the bottom in coordinating ink.

I coloured the image using the Watercolour Pencils and AquaPainter, but I did also use the Wink of Stella clear brush to blend the colour of her cape!
