Baby Wipe Technique

Dear Crafters,

I had a card making class on 8th October where we I taught the baby wipe technique!

If you need to make a few cards at a time, this technique is a great way to start. I have used the same technique, but multiple stamp sets for a different look!

The ink colours I have used are: Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Dapper Denim & Island Indigo!

There are loads of tutorials on YouTube if you have never tried this technique before.

This cards uses the Bloomin’ Love stamp set and the Happy Heart Textured Impression Embossing Folder.

This next card uses the Floral Phrases stamp set.

Don’t you just love that colour variation as the inks blend together on the baby wipe?!!

And my 3rd and final card for this post, is a sweet cupcake card!

Just check out that frosting and the ribbon I’ve tied in a knot rather than a bow if I was making a feminine card!

A little Christmas Spirit

Dear Crafters,

With the super sale on the Designer Series Papers, buy 3 get 1 free (further details at the end of my post), I share another card using some of the Presents & Pinecones DSP and the Christmas Pines Bundle. I love how there are so many different double sided designs in 1 pack of paper and you can create such different projects, even though they are using the same products and template.

This time I embossed the pine cone with copper embossing powder. I would have preferred to coordinate it with the glitter strip, but the gold pine cone just didn’t look right!!!

Birthday Blooms in water colour

Dear Crafters,

I have a different type of card today that can also be used as a gift. It has a card on the top and a little pull out box underneath to place a gift!

I have used the Birthday Blooms stamp set and the water colouring technique. Yes, I know, I have a long way to go with my water colouring, but hey, I had a go!

I also didn’t have any water colour paper, so I used the Shimmery White card stock, so maybe that didn’t help.

The ink colours I have used with my Aqua Painter were: Melon Mambo, Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Delightful Dijon, Dapper Denim, Wild Wasabi and Garden Green!

Christmas Card with a Gift Box

Dear Crafters,

I have a different type of card today that can also be used as a gift. It has a card on the top and a little pull out box underneath to place a gift!

I have used the Candy Cane Lane DSP and the Cookie Cutter Bundle. I just love these products!

Aha, and there is my gift! A designer series paper necklace!!!

I just love how all of these products coordinate!!!

Here’s how to make it:

Start with an A4 piece of card and cut it down to 3″ x 11 6/8″ then score it at 3″, 4″, 7″, 8″, 11″

Burnish the folds and add Tear & Tape as shown below

Fold up the right hand side (see below), remove the cover off the tape and then fold down the left side to secure firmly.

Next cut a piece of card to 4 7/8″ x 4 7/8″. Score each edge at 1″. Using scissors, cut in and notch as shown below. Also use a 1″ circle punch to create the semi circle before you put the box together with tape. This will then slide beneath the card!

Faux Iris Twist Technique

Well the school holidays are well and truly over and back to work hasn’t been the easiest, but today I share this card that is quite the opposite. It is an easy technique but super effective!

I have used the stunning Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper (Melon Mambo, Basic Black and Whisper White).

I stamped the sentiment ‘Enjoy’ from the Bella & Friends stamp set and the ‘It’s Your day’ sentiment from the Confetti Celebration stamp set.

I just love how with a couple of double sided DSP pages, you can create such a stunning card. This is a great technique to use up those scrap pieces you have saved for that special project!

Artistic Collage

Dear Crafters,

Today I have used the Collage technique with the Awesomely Artistic stamp set.

I embossed the island indigo base card with the Floral Affection TIEF.

Next, I cut a piece of whisper white card to 2.5″ x 3.5″ and stamped the You’ve Got This background stamp across one corner.

Then I stamped the Awesomely Artistic images layering them in a collage format, using mint macaron, island indigo and bermuda bay inks.

I stamped the sentiment and border onto whisper white card and cut it out with paper snips. I added some rhinestones for a little bling!

I added silver glimmer ribbon by stapling it to the top then adding the tag with dimensionals!

My style is not in the form of collage stamping, but I was happy with this!

Meerkat birthday

Dear Crafters,

Today I just have to share with you a card that my 10 year old daughter made for her friend’s birthday on Wednesday. Our initial conversation was that her friend loves Meerkats and my instant reaction was, how the heck do we do that???! Anyway, this is what she created all by herself and I am so proud of her!

Baby wipe Texture

Dear Crafters,

Today I have used the baby wipe technique with the Touches of Texture stamp set.

I die cut the Layered Squares framelits into the front of the A5 Emerald Envy card.

Next, I stamped the leaves (emerald envy) onto whisper white card stock and then the outline of the flower with dapper denim ink. I used the large splatter stamp with crushed curry ink and put that behind the flower.

I squirted some drops of crushed curry, blushing bride & soft sky onto some baby wipes that are sitting on a plastic plate, then pressed the stamp into it and then onto the flower!

I added a gold glimmer sentiment, hello from the Hello you thinlits and some emerald envy thick baker’s twine in a double bow!

I was super happy with the look of this one!

Oh my, have you seen this stunning Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder? You have to get it! This is the first time I’ve used it and WOW, doesn’t it give a great effect!!!!

Can you tell that the spikes are created from the tree (less the trunk!) die?
