Gorgeous Sweet Soiree birthday

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a feminine card using the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Occasions catalogue. I just adore the hand-painted designs and the silver foil accents.

Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP

Oh I love the colours in this…. Berry Burst, Marina Mist, Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, Powder Pink, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Silver Foil & Whisper White.

For my card base, I used Berry Burst and Marina Mist then the layer of DSP. The sentiment is from the Sweet Cupcake stamp set and cut out with the Classic Label Punch. Some silver glimmer paper is cut into a banner with paper snips and some of the ribbon from the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit behind.

Don’t forget to decorate the inside of the card with coordinating DSP!!!

Personally, this foiled DSP doesn’t need much added, as it is so beautiful all by itself, don’t you agree??

Now let’s get started!

Today I share my favourite Sale-a-bration product, and hands down, it has to be this bright and colourful Designer Series Paper, Bubbles & Fizz. Here are the colours:

Bubbles & Fizz DSP.jpg

I wanted to show you all the different designs, so what better way to do it, than with the herringbone technique!

Bubble Over Suite Bubbles & Fizz DSP Stampin Up Saleabration 2018 by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia..jpg

I sliced the DSP into 1/2″ x 12″ strips. I took a piece of scrap card cut to 4″ x 5-5/8″ and covered it in Fast Fuse. Then I began placing the strips starting with the Lemon Lime Twist bubbles one across the centre. I kept adding strips in different directions, cutting them off at the edge of the card. This creates an amazing background!

The Stitched Shapes Circle Framelits, break up all the straight lines and helps take the eye to the feature of the bottle like a target.

Bubble Over Suite Bubbles & Fizz DSP Stampin Up Saleabration 2018 by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia

I die cut the large bottle in white card from the Bottles & Bubbles Framelits dies. I used a sponge dauber to add some Lemon Lime Twist ink to it, applying more at the bottom and lighter at the top. Check out those gorgeous Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes on the bottle. I even used some of the extra strips to decorate the inside of the card!

For my next card, I have used the same Designer Series Paper with the Epic Celebrations stamp set from the Sale-a-bration brochure with the Trifold Shutter card technique.

Trifold Shutter Card using Stampin Up Bubbles & Fizz DSP &Epic Celebrations, Saleabration 2018 by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia.

I coloured the images using a blender pen and ink pads; Bermuda Bay and Smoky Slate. The Stitched Shapes Framelits were used to die cut the shoes image.

As you can see, this DSP can be used in many different ways, not just with the Bubble Over Suite!

Stunning Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a quick and easy card using the Sweet Soiree Embellishment kit & Sweet Soiree Designer Series Paper from the Occasions catalogue.

The blue punched detail behind the Designer Series Paper is Marina Mist card cut with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch and only a small amount showing, as I only wanted a hint of blue.  The floral image is some of the vellum embellishments from the kit, which has been coloured using Stampin’ Blends markers.

The Stitched Shapes Framelits are cut in glossy white card and added with dimensionals. The metal embellishments are from the Petal Passion Suite and are added with a glue dot. The Berry Burst Metal Edged ribbon was added with a small staple before the DSP was glued to the front of the card.

Let the Good Times Roll on Australia Day!

Dear Crafters,

Today I share this card using the Let the Good Times Roll bundle in the Occasions catalogue. You may remember I shared one earlier in January that was a feminine one, but today is my dads 70th birthday and I thought this was an appropriate card for him, as it brought back wonderful memories of the times he would take me on the rides at the theme parks while my mum & sister looked on in terror!!!! Dad & I loved them!!!

The base card measures 8¼” x 5⅞” and is folded in half.
The Whisper White insert measures 8″ x 5½”.

Stampin Up Let the Good Times Roll Masculine card

Are you ready to see the magic happen as you open up the card to reveal the 3D pop up inside?

Let the Good Times Roll Masculine inside card Stampin Up

Who wouldn’t get a thrill out of opening this card?!!!! Isn’t it just so cool?!!

This is a 14 piece photopolymer set, so it makes it super easy to line up the stamped images as well as using the coordinating dies to cut them out so no more fussy cutting! I have used lots of colour as I think it is such a fun card that screams colour!

Remember, here are the tips I found when using this bundle:

  1. use whisper white, not the thick whisper white card, it’s easier to fold the tracks
  2. do not score your white card all the way through. Only score each side about 1/2″, line up the die and then cut, then use a ruler to score across to the edge of the die cut
  3. Score along each edge of the tracks and the bottom edge before trying to fold them
  4. Add an extra layer over the framework of the roller coaster for strength
  5. it will fold flat, you just need patience in the manipulating of the tracks
  6. I made a quick 30 second video to show how it folds flat, view here. (I’m not into making videos, so no instructions with it, lol).
  7. You can also view the YouTube video by Brandi at the Stampin’ Up! home office here to see more about how to create the pop up section!

Now let’s get started!

Today I share my favourite suite in the new Occasions catalogue as I have previously mentioned and I just love how many items are in this Petal Passion Suite.

Petal Passion Suite

I am using Pool Party as my base card with a layer of the Petal Passion DSP. Yes, these papers are black and white and can look quite harsh at first, but wait until you see them with some colour!

Petal Palette Suite Stampin Up Occasions 2018 Blog Hop by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia. Feminine card

I coloured the DSP with my Stampin’ Blends; Calypso Coral Combo, Old Olive Combo and Pool Party Light for the background. What a difference it makes!!!

Petal Palette Suite Stampin Up Occasions 2018 Blog Hop by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia. Feminine card DIY

I also coloured the bird with the Pool Party Combo blends pack and the Colour Lifter.  I die cut some vellum circles using the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies and glued them down by lightly sponging on some Tombo Multipurpose glue, so you can’t see it. I then added some of the gold metallic ⅛” ribbon and tied another piece in a bow and added it with a glue dot.

The sentiment is heat embossed with gold embossing powder and it looks stunning on that framelit.

The gold strips down each side of the DSP is some Washi tape.

Saleabration, you are amazing!

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a card using one of the Saleabration free products, the Amazing You stamp set. You can earn this for free until 31st March with any qualifying order. Contact me to find out more!

Amazing You by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator, Australia #Saleabration2018

I stamped the floral images in black ink onto Melon Mambo card x 6 and fussy each of them; 3 in full  and 3 of the just the 4 centre petals. I placed these on top with a dimensional behind them and added a clear faceted gem to the centres.

Amazing You by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator Australia #Saleabration2018

I stamped the same floral image in Pool Party onto the white panel two times. Then I used the Emerald Envy and Dapper Denim Stampin’ Write Markers to colour the stamp before stamping it on the edge of the white panel. These were the same colours used for the sentiment.

I stamped the sunshine image onto the base card, before adding the white panel. Then I glued on the flowers and added a piece of white baker’s twine.

Let the Good Times Roll

Dear Crafters,

Today I share with you a card that took a little while to create and understand how it actually worked when putting it together. When you see it, you will be amazed, but I have to admit there was some frustration at the beginning!

I’m using the Let the Good Times Roll bundle in the Occasions catalogue.

I started with an A5 piece of Lemon Lime Twist card stock = 8¼” x 5⅞” folded in half.
The Whisper White insert measures 8″ x 5½”.

Firstly, I will share with you the inside of the card before the front, and you will see why in a second. This is the most amazing 3D pop up card you will have seen in a while!

Let the Good Times Roll Feminine inside

What kid would not get a thrill out of opening this card?!!!! Isn’t it just so cool?!!

This is a 14 piece photopolymer set, so it makes it super easy to line up the stamped images as well as using the coordinating dies to cut them out. I have lots of colours as I think it is such a fun card that screams colour!

Here is the front of the card:

Celebrate the New Year with colour!

Dear Crafters,

Happy New Year!  I hope that 2018 brings you much joy, love, health and happiness.

Today’s card is a fun card to celebrate the New Year, with some Birthday Ribbon bows, using the new Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set available in the Occasions catalogue starting in 2 days time!

Celebrate with Picture Perfect Birthday, Stampin' Up! by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia DIY

I have used some pretty bright colours for this card; Peekaboo Peach, Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Old Olive, Pool Party & Tempting Turquoise.

This is a photopolymer stamp set, so it is quite easy to line up the two-step stamping for the bows. Check out those gorgeous Tutti-fruitti Adhesive-backed Sequins too, they will also be available and I’m sure they will be a huge hit when the catalogue goes live. These were one of the first embellishments I added to my order.

The fringing on the edges of the panel where the sentiment is, was created by many little paper snips along the edges of the Flirty Flamingo paper. Doesn’t it look cool?!!!

Celebrate with Picture Perfect Birthday, Stampin' Up! by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia, DIY

Don’t look too closely at the Old Olive stamping… I recently reinked my stamp pad and it was a little too juicy!!!

The “celebrate” sentiment was only part of a stamp in the set, so I actually used a Tempting Turquoise Stampin’ Write Marker to ink up just that one word before stamping!

It’s a Musical Season this Christmas

Dear Crafters,

Today I have some more Christmas inspiration for you from the Holiday catalogue using the Musical Season Bundle and the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper.

I just adore this little drummer boy and the instruments die cut with silver foil are just perfect. I added some ribbon across both corners, almost like wrapping a present!

I love how this sentiment stamped in the rich Cherry Cobbler looks with the stamped off Smoky Slate Lyre behind! I stamped this same thing on the inside of both these cards.
