Frame with Interchangeable ‘O’

Today I am sharing the project we made at my class on Thursday and the ladies had a great time making them. I allowed them to make up to 5 each and choose their own colours. Below are all the examples I had for them to choose from!

I got the frames from KMart and started by removing the glass. I cut a piece of Whisper White card to 8″x6″ and scored it across the page at every 1/2″. Not sure if you can see that in the photo? I placed this back in the frame, then the glass and the other pieces that it came with before putting the backing piece in. Having the scored lines allowed me to line up the H, M, E, leaving a space for the interchanging ‘O’. These were die cut using the Large Letters Framelits dies. Each of the ‘O’s were die cut using either the Layering Circle Framelits, Layering Ovals Framelits or the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies. Behind the ‘O’ is a magnet glued to the white card. Behind each ‘O’ I have added some Magnet tape.

Today, I am sharing another card focusing heavily on this stunning Joyous Noel Designer paper and the coordinating Joyous Noel Glimmer.

I was inspired by a card created by Amy Koenders and it really caught my eye. I used the same piece of DSP (because it is my favourite!) but I changed up the top section and the card base.

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty stamp set and the Classic Label punch to cut it out.

Here’s the inside using another strip of this DSP, Glimmer strip and another glimmer sprig!

This reversible Merry Merlot & Copper ribbon is so soft and stunning and I love it! How pretty does that bow look?!!

Colour Creations: Garden Green & Gold Christmas

Welcome to another Art With Heart Team Colour Creations weekly Blog Hop. Today we are featuring Garden Green!!!

I think this Designer Paper is so pretty and lifelike, that I didn’t want to cover it up too much and let it be the hero of this card. I did add a strip of Gold Glimmer and a piece of Cherry Cobbler that has the Stitched Labels framelits die (those little crosses) down one side.

Those berries are the basic pearls coloured with the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends marker. The spigs have Wink of Stella on them for that gorgeous glimmer and the Starburst punch is embossed with the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder. The Merry was stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder.

On the inside, I’ve added two strips; one of DSP and some gold glimmer.

The ‘Christmas’ is die cut from Gold Foil and attached with Tombo multipurpose glue.

Looking forward to warmer weather with High Tide

Today’s card has a summery feel to it and yes, I am still waiting for some warmer days to appear in cold Melbourne town! It is Spring and daylight savings is about to start tomorrow night, so hopefully that will mean some better days ahead.

I have recently purchased this High Tide stamp set and wanted to get it out and have a play.

I have used quite a few different ink pads, although it doesn’t really look overly colourful, but I do love the Pineapple Punch card base with Very Vanilla layer to really bring it to life!

Once I had finished stamping, I felt it still needed something… maybe because it was a single layer card, meaning there was no dimension to it. So pulled out my Wink of Stella and turned to moon into a shiny moon with refection on the water and the tops of the wings of the birds flying high in the sky have a silvery tone to them.

I also felt it still needed something else, so instead of cutting it down and adding a mat layer, I decided to sponge the edges with Versamark ink, add some Gold Emboss Powder and heat set it. This is a great way to add that layered look and some extra shine!

Here is the inside without a sentiment at the moment. I’m not sure what it will end up being, whether it’s for a birthday, sympathy, thinking of you, or could even be a happy holidays card!

The water is stamped in Pool Party and Soft Sea Foam. The lighthouse is Gray Granite and Blueberry Bushel. The beach is Sahara Sand. The plants are Mossy Meadow. The birds are Memento Black. The moon and reflection are Smoky Slate.

Heart of Christmas: All is Bright this Christmas

Today’s card is simple and easy to create multiples of, in a short space of time. Cutting a strip of the All is Bright Designer series paper, layering it on some Gold Foil and gluing it to a card, it’s that simple!

I also stamped the sentiment in one colour and added some Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes.

This took me all of about 5 minutes to make and if you are time poor leading up to this festive season, it could be the answer for you too!

Colour Creations: Fresh Fig and Champagne Rain

I’m pretty much just using Fresh Fig and Whisper White today, although I did add a hint of other colours with the Artisan Pearl Embellishments. Oh and check out the champagne foil background!!! I ran it through the Big Shot in the Subtle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and look what it created… doesn’t it look like Champagne rain? So pretty!

Christmas Decoration with Joyous Noel

Here I am again with another creation using my favourite Designer Paper, Joyous Noel Specialty DSP. This time, I have made a Christmas Decoration to hang on the Christmas tree this December.

If you are not into fiddly things, then this may not be the decoration for you, but I had to give one a try as they looked very different to anything else I had seen before. I don’t think I will be making loads of them to put on my tree though 😉

Colour Creations: Flirty Flamingo

Welcome to another Art With Heart Team Colour Creations weekly Blog Hop. Today we are featuring Flirty Flamingo!!!

I have seen lots of people using the Buffalo Check stamp and adding some lines to look like Plaid and I had to give it a go. How good does it look?!!! Just reminds me of a check shirt and it’s perfect with these trees!

By using the Stamparatus to ink the stamps, if you don’t get a good coverage the first time or you want a darker colour, you can re-ink and stamp again as many times as required. I did this multiple times with the Buffalo Check stamp and twice with the sentiment. Once I got the right colour with the Buffalo Check, I used a ruler and the Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Write Marker to rule some lines to look more like Plaid. Using both the thick end down the centre of each white strip of the check and then the thin end of the marker across the check pattern. Can you see that?

The trees are inked and stamped a couple of times before re-inking and stamping again to get that depth of a forest.

The iridescent sequins are the perfect colour tones to coordinate with my colour palette. I used the Take Your Pick Tool to add them to my card. It is such a cool new tool and saves so much time! I also added some Wink of Stella to the trees for extra glisten!

The copper trim added some darker interest between the image and the plaid and the bow helps to soften it and add a feminine touch.

Now let’s get started!

I am using some of my favourite products from this catalogue; Dashing Deer Bundle and the Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper with its stunning copper foil accents. I also love the new Joyous Noel Glimmer paper in 6″ x 6″ and in 3 colours; Merry Merlot, Copper and Tranquil Tide. I have used 2 of these in my projects today!

My first project is a card using Gray Granite as the base. I would never think to use this colour for Christmas, but in fact, it looks amazing and it is one of the colours in the DSP.

Check out the inside of this card though! I have made a banner at the top with some more of this gorgeous Designer Paper by scoring it in the centre and 1″ either side so it folds in to the card with a metal snowflake embellishment hanging from it with copper metallic thread.

Dashing Deer & Joyous Noel Stampin Up by Kate Morgan, Australia 2018

My next project is a small gift box that I cased from Pootles in the UK. This stunning reversible ribbon is featured again wrapped around it, tied in a bow, to hold the box closed. This box measures 3¾” high x 3” wide x 1½” deep. You could fit lots of little Christmas chocolates inside, yummy!

I punched a couple of Tranquil Tide Sprigs from the Joyous Noel Glimmer paper and added the copper star embellishment with some copper metallic thread hanging down the front.
