9bdc0-34343751_10157403755198098_7101250458500464640_o

Welcome to another Art With Heart Team Colour Creations weekly Blog Hop. Today we are featuring Lovely Lipstick and this is my photo inspiration. How gorgeous are the colours of these flowers?! My dear friends gave me this following a couple of weeks of poor health and they certainly cheered me up!

What Stampin’ Up! colours do you see? Apart from Lovely Lipstick, I see Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape!

I was so inspired by these flowers that I had to use the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set with coordinating Bouquet Bunch Framelits dies!

Beautiful Bouquet for Lovely Lipstick Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2018.JPG

There is very little stamping on this card, only the sentiment and the Green flowers. Everything else is die cut using the framelits and glued to the card with Tombo Multipurpose Adhesive. I did add some Wink of Stella to the bow!

Sketch Challenge for our last Art with Heart Blog Hop for 2018!

Blog Hop Card Sketch Nov 18

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring a card sketch. We hope you like how we have each put our own spin on this sketch and that it inspires you to get creative and make some fabulous cards. If you are inspired by the sketch, please share your projects with us!

Blog-hop-sketch

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from our hop organiser, Ros Davidson. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links. Now let’s get started!

My first project tonight uses the stamp set, Enjoy Life with a technique called the Floating Window. The card base is Tranquil Tide with a Square die cut out of the front. I placed a small piece of Berry Burst Metallic Edged Ribbon, cut on angles, below the square to act a bit like a window shelf.

Enjoy Life 2018 Handmade Card using Stampin Up by Kate Morgan Australia

On the inside of the card, I used my D size clear block and tapped it onto the Pool Party Inkpad, then spritzed it with some water and stamped it onto the Whisper White card for a cool watercolour effect. You must wait for this to dry before stamping the images over the top in Stazon Black ink and the female image in Berry Burst ink. By using the Stamparatus, I could then keep the figure in the same position to be able to ink the window sheet in the exact same place so it lays over the top of the image on the inside of the card when you open and close it.

A piece of window sheet is stamped with Stazon Black ink with the grass and the female image only. Using the Stamparatus, I could get a nice dark image, by re-inking the stamps a couple of times. You may be able to see the two images layered in this photo!

My second project is a quick Christmas card, using some of the Under the Mistletoe Designer Paper with some Frost White Shimmer Paint sponged over the top. The sentiment from the Merry Christmas to All stamp set is stamped in Versamark ink and silver embossing powder applied, then heat set with a heat tool. I also added a square of Silver Foil and some Silver Glimmer cut with the Triple Banner Punch.

Heart of Christmas: Inlaid Technique with Dashing Deer

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop.jpg

Today, for our very last Heart of Christmas blog hop post for 2018, I am sharing a very simple card using the Dashing Deer bundle. But don’t worry, I still have plenty more Christmas projects to share with you over the coming weeks!

My card base is the lovely Merry Merlot. The Sparkle glimmer layer was die cut with the deer die and removed and glued to the front of the card. I die cut another of that same deer in the Merry Merlot glimmer from the Joyous Noel 6″ x 6″ Glimmer Paper pack from the 2018 Holiday catalogue.

Dashing Deer Inlaid technique by Kate Morgan, Australia 2018

I glued the Merlot deer into the place where the Sparkle glimmer deer was removed. This creates that inlaid look and makes the card entirely flat (apart from the bow)! It was a bit hard to photograph.

Dashing Deer Inlaid technique by Kate Morgan, Australia, 2018

I stamped the sentiment on the inside with another smaller deer and a strip of the same Glimmer paper.

Colour Creations: Lemon Lime Twist with a Sneak Peek of new Occasions catalogue product!

9bdc0-34343751_10157403755198098_7101250458500464640_o

Welcome to another Art With Heart Team Colour Creations weekly Blog Hop. Today we are featuring Lemon Lime Twist!!!

I am giving you a sneak peek of a new stamp set that will be available in the 2019 Occasions catalogue. I won this as my Prize Patrol set at the OnStage event for demonstrators last Saturday! It is called Wonderful Romance.

My card base is Old Olive with a layer of Lemon Lime Twist and then I have stamped the image in Sahara Sand on Whisper White card. The sentiment is also stamped in Lemon Lime Twist.

I don’t think the photo does it justice, but the larger leaves are coloured with Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Write Marker and then a layer of the Fine Tip Glue added for the shiny look. The other leaves are coloured with Soft Sea Foam & Old Olive and the flowers are Lovely Lipstick! Each flower has an enamel dot in the centre (these are new too!) and the bow is Linen Thread.

Stampin' Up!

Stampin’ Up! OnStage event with sneak peeks

Today I am sharing some of the excitement from the Stampin’ Up! event, OnStage Local, held last Saturday at the Melbourne Tennis Convention Centre. I attended with my dear friends and team mates, Kim and Andrea.

#StampinUp30

We had such a ball celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Stampin’ Up! with around 400-500 other demonstrators. We always get so inspired by the Make and Takes, live product demonstrations and seeing the other events worldwide on the big screen, as well as catching up with our AWH team members!

This year I also got to celebrate some milestones of my own; Annual Recruiting, Annual Leadership, Title Advancement and a march across the stage for my 5 year anniversary.

We got our copy of the new Occasions catalogue and Saleabration Brochure…. I can only show you the cover at this stage, but let me just say, start saving now!!!! LOL

2019 Occasions Catalogue Stampin Up.jpg

Here is one of the Make and Takes we made during the event using the Needle & Thread Bundle!

Sneak Peek 2019 Occasions catalogue Needle & Thread Bundle by Kate Morgan, Australia

It’s great to share some of these sneak peeks, but these products won’t be available until 2019 and the Holiday catalogue is still available until then. We have Christmas coming in only 6 weeks, so lots still to organise!!!!!

Heart of Christmas: Dry Embossed Deer

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop.jpg

Tonight, I am hosting the 14th Heart of Christmas Blog Hop on behalf of Claire and can you believe it’s less than 6 weeks until Christmas?!

I am using the Big Shot Embossing Mats for tonight’s card to showcase something a little different created with the dies. It was very difficult to photograph the copper foil without getting my reflection in it, so here goes!

Dry Embossed Christmas Card using Stampin Up Dashing Deer & Joyous Noel by Kate Morgan Australia Christmas 2018..JPG

The Copper Foil is run through the Big Shot with the Embossing Mats and the Detailed Deer Thinlits die to get this effect. The die doesn’t cut all the way through, but only leaves the impression. How cool is that?!! It opens up the possibilities you can get from your dies. I rounded the two corners using the Envelope Punch Board.

I added some Merry Merlot & Copper Reversible ribbon and tied it in a bow. It is so luxurious and soft. I added a Share What You Love Artisan Pearl for the eye of the deer.

On the inside, I stamped the sentiment in Merry Merlot ink and added another strip of the same Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper with some of the Joyous Noel Copper Glimmer paper.

Colour Creations: Highland Heather in Abstract

9bdc0-34343751_10157403755198098_7101250458500464640_o

Welcome to another Art With Heart Team Colour Creations weekly Blog Hop. Today we are featuring Highland Heather!!! This is a new colour this year and it is very pretty.

My first thought was, “oh what the heck will I feature?” and so I starred at all of my stamp sets for ages. I selected Abstract Impressions, as I haven’t used it very much but I adore the Springtime Impressions Thinlits dies that are part of the bundle saving 10%.

My colour combination is:

I glued the layers of Grapefruit Grove and Highland Heather together then ran it through the Big Shot with the Ruffled Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder.

I stamped the flower images onto whisper white card. The Grapefruit Grove I stamped off once before stamping, as I wanted a softer look. The Highland Heather is stamped in full strength. I then cut the banner at the bottom with paper snips. This was glued to the embossed layers.

The features across the centre has a Highland Heather banner, some Grapefruit Grove Grosgrain ribbon, Gold Mini Sequin Trim. The Vellum die cut with the large floral die and some Gold Metallic Thread sits behind the purple banner. Then I added the die cut butterfly with glue and added a ribbon bow to finish it off. I also added some Share What You Love Artisan Pearls across the white banner.

Here’s a close-up so you can see all those layers!

With so much going on with this card, I didn’t think it needed a sentiment, as it would take away the butterfly focal point. What do you think?

Square Easel Card with Dashing Deer and the rich Joyous Noel papers

Today I share a card that my ladies made in yesterday’s Christmas class!

It’s an Easel card that measures 4⅛” x 4⅛” when closed. I made it this size so that I could get 2 cards from 1 sheet of card stock.

Easel Card using Stampin Up Dashing Deer & Joyous Noel by Kate Morgan Australia Christmas 2018

I stamped the reindeer image and the floral image on the front of the card in Tranquil Tide ink as well as the sentiment on the inside. This is how the card looks when laying flat to fit into an envelope.

The Starburst Punch was used the cut some of the Joyous Noel Glimmer paper behind the deer. Doesn’t it add a gorgeous sparkle?!!

When the card is open and laying flat it looks like this from the front

and this on the inside. You can see the scoreline of the front and how it folds to sit up to display. I placed some Gray Granite card on the inside with a strip of the DSP and some more glimmer paper. The sentiment is stamped and punched out with the Tailored Tag punch and sits on dimensionals so the front of the card forms the Easel!

Heart of Christmas: The Shrinking Deer!

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop.jpg

Today, I am sharing a fancy fold card which opens on the diagonal!

I am using the Dashing Deer Bundle with the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper and some Shrinky dinks plastic. The DSP on the front measures 5¾” x 3¾” and is cut on the diagonal. I sponged the edges with Memento Black ink before adhering to the card.

Dashing Deer Shrinky Dinks card Stampin Up Holiday catalogue 2018 by Kate Morgan Australia.JPG

The two deer dies were used to die cut some black shrinky dinks plastic which I then heat with my heat tool to shink them. How cute are they? The were a little tricky to shrink as they turned out so small, but it was worth it!

I sponged some Sahara Sand ink across the bottom of the Very Vanilla oval and stamped the edge with the flower image from the Dashing Deer stamp set. The ovals are die cut using the Big Shot and the Layering Ovals Framelits dies.

When the card is open it looks like this. I stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink and the flower image in Sahara Sand ink and added a strip of the DSP.

Dashing Deer Shrinky Dinks card open Stampin Up Holiday catalogue 2018 by Kate Morgan Australia

To make this card, you simple score an A4 sheet down the centre and across the centre. Then cut the A4 sheet on the diagonal from one corner to the other. This will give you two cards to make from the one sheet. The DSP on the front measures 5¾” x 3¾” and is cut on the diagonal and glued on.

Colour Creations: Gray Granite Pocket Card with a hidden surprise inside!

9bdc0-34343751_10157403755198098_7101250458500464640_o

Welcome to another Art With Heart Team Colour Creations weekly Blog Hop. Tonight we are featuring Gray Granite!!!

I have made a Pocket card, but it’s no ordinary Pocket card as it has a hidden surprise inside. Read on to find out more!

The Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper is the feature, along with the Dashing Deer bundle. You may recognise that deer from a recent card I made. I had stamped a few extra and it was perfect for this card too.

The full instructions are written below, but I used the Envelope Punch Board to make this and added the Circle Tab Punch pull tab to the card inside.

Pocket Gift Card for Christmas 2018 using Stampin Up Dashing Deer, Festive Farmhouse DSP by Kate Morgan, Australia.JPG

Can you see what may be inside?!! Yes a gift card.

Pocket Gift Card for Christmas 2018 using Stampin Up Dashing Deer, Festive Farmhouse DSP by Kate Morgan Australia.JPG

The belly band is created with the Scallop Tag Topper punch and held together with White Baker’s Twine. I stamped the sentiment in Gray Granite on white card and used the Everyday Label Punch to cut it out, but it was too big, so I cut it down at the top and bottom! A piece of Whisper White card is added to the back of the insert to add your message.

Pocket Gift Card for Christmas 2018 using Stampin Up Dashing Deer, Festive Farmhouse DSP by Kate Morgan Australia..JPG

I can see I will make quite a few of these for Christmas gifts this year!

Instructions on how to make your own Pocket card:
To make your own pocket card with secret gift card inside, use the envelope punch board and make an envelope using 7½” x 7½” card, scored at 3” on EPB.
Cut off the top flap. Do not glue it together until the card insert is made and inserted.
Card insert: 3½” x 7” score a 2”.
Place Tear & Tape along the side edges of the flap only and fold up to create the pocket for the gift card.
Using the Circle Tab Punch cut x 1 in the same cardstock colour.
Using the ¾” circle punch, cut 2 x DSP. Glue these to the circle tab punch piece.
Fold in half and glue it to the top, centre of the card insert.
Now that the card insert is inside the envelope, you can glue the flap to hold it together.
Cut a piece of DSP 7½” x 2” and punch both ends with the scallop tag topper punch.
Wrap it around the card and tie together with a piece of 11” baker’s twine.
Decorate as desired.
You can leave it loose like a belly band or glue it to the envelope to hold it in place!
