Birthday, Handmade Cards, Holiday Catalogue, Stampin' Up!

Sip Sip Hooray!

Tonight I have used the Sip Sip Hooray Bundle from the Holiday catalogue. I purchased this bundle because it will be so handy for many different occasions; Christmas, Birthdays, Weddings, Engagements, any form of celebration!

Navy and Gold also is very rich and coordinates so well. Behind those bubbles is Gold Foil which really shimmers, but is so hard to photograph. The images of the glasses are stamped in the new Delicata Metallic Golden Glitz ink.

I can’t wait to have another session with this bundle.

Christmas, Holiday Catalogue, Stampin' Up!

Christmas is the Most Wonderful Time of the year

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop 2019

Oh wow, have you seen the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley on page 39 in the Holiday catalogue? You need to check it out!

Most Wonderful Time Product Medley.JPG

The only extra things you need are ink, glue, card bases and clear blocks for your stamps, but I’m sure you have these things at home already!

Most Wonderful Time Product Medley by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2019 Holiday catalogue

I lashed out and purchased the Delicata Golden Glitz Metallic ink pad as well, which you can see I have used for the stars, ribbons on the presents and also around the edges of the Red & gold star card stock. Initially this was white with gold starts, but I found it way to bright, so I sponged it with Real Red ink.  The star on top of the tree was cut from this same piece of card before I sponged it, and the hole is hidden by the tree!

This one uses more gold with the foil frame and the white background is embossed with the Scripty Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder.

The lighting wasn’t great getting that sentiment but it’s the Delicata Golden Glitz Metallic ink.

Most Wonderful Time Product Medley by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2019 Holiday catalogue..

This card has a piece of DSP cut 5mm short of the card size and I used the circle punch to cut the circle out before gluing the DSP to the card for the featured candy canes to sit in. How cute is that tinsel?!!!

Most Wonderful Time Product Medley by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2019 Holiday catalogue..jpg

Even though the candy canes and the banner are stickers, you can still add dimensionals to pop them up for extra dimension. You wouldn’t think these were even stickers, as the quality is amazing!

09-19_header_dsp_cauksp

For more information about the promotion, contact any of the ladies on the blog hop and we will be happy to help you.

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from the talented, Sharon Davern. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

Project #1 This Woven Threads DSP is just stunning and features the new In Colours. I have chosen the piece with Seaside Spray and Terracotta Tile. By punching the pieces of DSP and gluing them down with a small gap between them, creates this wonderful effect. The ribbon and the Ornate Frames Dies are from the Holiday catalogue and coordinate perfectly. These dies are part of the Halloween suite, however I love them on their own with other stamped sentiments.

Project #2 The Perennial Essence DSP is stunning and reflects Monet’s artworks. Having studied art at school, this was the first DSP added to my list. The Floral Essence Bundle coordinates with it and I added the flower to the bottom corner, so the DSP is the showcase.

Here is a closer look at the Delicata Golden Glitz inkpad on the vellum. I wasn’t sure how well it would dry and I was impatient, so I added clear embossing powder and heat set it. I was amazed that the glimmer still showed through so well!

Project #3 This card is a CASE (Copy & Share Everything) from a card on page 132 of the Annual Catalogue, although I have changed up lots of the products. The See a Silhouette DSP is so bold and bright and I found this pattern very overpowering, but by cutting the images out, you produce something wonderful! I adore these Heirloom 3D Frames too for the embossed background.

Christmas, Handmade Cards, Stampin' Up!

Heart of Christmas: Week 6

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop 2019

This week I am taking a break from the Brightly Gleaming Suite and using some of the products from the Annual catalogue, and they are not even Christmas sets!

Can you believe this is the Rooted in Nature stamp set and coordinating Nature’s Roots dies?

Christmas card using Stampin Up Rooted in Nature by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019.jpg

It is simply stamped images loads of times and then a few extras which I die cut and added with Tombo glue and/or dimensionals. I also added the new Shimmery Crystal Effects to four of the trees (the two Seaside Spray ones & two Night of Navy ones).

How gorgeous is that Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon? It is super soft and pliable to create the bow and has a silver thread through it. Wrap the ribbon around the card layer and where you are going to tie the bow, place a glue dot under it to hold it knot while you have your hands free to tie the bow. A really great tip I’ve learned along the way!

I haven’t put any sentiments on these as yet, as I am waiting on an order to arrive with more appropriate Christmas greetings.

Wildly Happy Collage with Pigment Sprinkles

Tonight I have a collage scene using the fox image from the Wildly Happy stamp set. I have also used the Pigment Sprinkles on the Fluid 100 Water colour paper to create that textured background of the grass. Simply wet the paper with an AquaPainter and carefully sprinkle a very small amount of colour onto the paper. You will see it spread instantly and such vibrant colour. I also added a little water in the Stampin’ Spritzer to add a little more water to spread the colour. Leave it to dry completely before cutting the hill shape with scissors. The smaller hill is Mossy Meadow card, cut with the Layering Oval framelits and embossed with the Suble Dynamic Embossing Folder for extra texture.

Wildly Happy Fox Stampin Up by Kate Morgan Australia 2019.JPG

The tree is cut using the Sweet Silhouettes dies in Early Espresso card. I added this with mini dimensionals to add some height above the foxes.

The foxes are coloured using Stampin’ Blends markers and fussy cut before adding them to the card. I love how they are curled up resting under the tree!

Christmas, Holiday Catalogue, Stampin' Up!

Heart of Christmas: Week 5

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop 2019

You may be getting sick of me sharing projects using the Brightly Gleaming Suite, but I just can’t get enough of it 😉

It is so versatile, you can create loads of different designs and styles and I adore it. Add the Delicata Celestial Copper Metallic ink pad and I can create all my Christmas projects I require.

This card features the amazing Designer Paper to really make this card shine!

Handmade Christmas card using Stampin Up Brightly Gleaming by Kate Morgan Australia 2019 Holiday catalogue.

These ornaments are simply cut with the punches from DSP! Super simple and added with dimensionals. Those rhinestones are from the Noble Peacock rhinestone pack!

The edges of the Rectangle die cut in Very Vanilla card, has the Copper ink pad swiped across each edge to give that extra shine and look like another layer is added.

Silhouette Scenes with the Rice Background Technique

Tonight I have a card that is created using the Rice Background Technique. Really it is a watercolour wash on the Fluid 100 Watercolour paper and while it’s still very wet, sprinkle some rice (or rock salt) over it and allow it to dry without moving it. Once it is dry, the rice draws the colour from the paper. Brush off the rice and you are left with this lovely effect. Mine is used to look like rain at sunset!

Rice or Salt Background using Stampin Up Serene Silhouettes & Shimmery Black Emboss Powder by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019.jpg

I stamped the image (Silhouette Scenes) with Versamark ink and applied the Shimmer Black Emboss Powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool.

Heart of Christmas: Week 4

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop 2019

Tonight’s Heart of Christmas card is a very simple one cased from Linda Dalke.

The holly image is stamped twice in Pretty Peacock ink in two corners before adding the centre piece over the top on dimensionals.

The Night of Navy card layer under the Designer Series Paper with the two baubles stamped in copper ink and punched out, also added with dimensionals. I love the knots of ribbon added to each one. The sentiment is stamped with Pretty Peacock ink on Very Vanilla card and added with Tombo Mulitpurpose glue.

Heirloom texture and embossing

When I started this card, I had the White card embossed with the Scripty Embossing Folder and the Tasteful backgrounds dies cut in Copper Foil and glued to the centre, but then I was stuck for inspiration on how to continue and finish this card.

Anyway, after a few weeks on the sidelines, it finally came to me like a light bulb moment, so to speak! I wanted to keep it delicate and so added the Petal Pink card base and then the oval Heirloom 3D Embossing folder and die to frame the copper picture.

Feminine Birthday card using Stampin Up Heirloom 3D Frames & dies, Tasteful Background dies, Scripty TIEF by Kate Morgan Australia 2019

I also purchased the Ornate Frames Dies from the Holiday catalogue in my pre-order, so I got those out and the Celestial Copper ink pad and stamped Happy Birthday, because we all need plenty of those cards! This new metallic ink pad dries really well and won’t smudge if left to dry. You can use the Heat Tool to dry it quicker, but it is so much better than the old Metallic Encore ink pads we used to have. I will have to place another order to add the Silver and Gold ones to my stash now I know how good they are!

I tied a bow with some copper trim and added it to the centre with a glue dot. So in the end, I was very happy with how this turned out. What do you think?

Heart of Christmas – Week 3 with a Bookmark card and instructions!

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop 2019

Today has been a big start to the release of the Holiday catalogue – click the image to download your copy and start shopping – you won’t be disappointed!

2019 Holiday catalogue image Craft with Kate

Tonight I have a 4″ x 4″ bookmark card using the Brightly Gleaming Suite.

Bookmark card using Stampin Up Brightly Gleaming suite by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019 Holiday catalogue.jpg

Start with a Mossy Meadow card base 10¾” x 4⅛”.
Score at 4¼” then turn the card 90o and score again at 2¼” and then perforate this line.
Insert the smaller end into the Scallop Tag Topper Punch so the edge lines up with the perforation, punch, then trim off the excess.

Bookmark card using Stampin Up Brightly Gleaming suite by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019 Holiday catalogue open

To decorate:
1 x DSP to 3⅞” x 3⅞”.
1 x DSP 2” x 4” and punch with the scallop tag topper punch and glue to the bookmark.
1 piece 3” x 3” for the front and 1 piece 4″ x 4″ Very Vanilla card for the inside. Rub the edges of the 3″ x 3″ card with the Celestial Copper Delicata Metallic Ink pad.
Stamp the holly images (Mossy Meadow ink) and fussy cut before adhering to the Very Vanilla square with dimensionals. Punch 2 x small baubles from DSP and 1 x larger one in Copper Foil, then emboss it with the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder.

Stamp the sentiments in the Celestial Copper ink. On the inside of the card, the string is actually created by running the edge of a metal ruler on the Celestial Copper ink pad and using it as a stamp!
Finish off with a coordinating piece of ribbon. I used a bambi stapler to hold it.

Bookmark card using Stampin Up Brightly Gleaming suite by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019 Holiday catalogue 2

and here’s a coordinating bon bon but slightly smaller than the one I shared in last week’s Christmas Blog Hop (you can see the instructions here). The only difference is that I made this one shorter starting with 8″ x 8½” Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP. All the other instructions are the same!
