Secret Sea: Pop Up Floating Shadow Box card

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours. For the first 5 weeks we showcase the new 2025-2027 In Colors and then continue with all the remaining colours in alphabetical order.

Have you browsed the new 2025-2026 Annual Catalogue yet and created your shopping list?

Week 3 – Secret Sea

I have to say, I am in love this new colour – such a gorgeous rich deep blue and it is even stunning stamped off for a lighter shade. Anyway, I get side-tracked, this handmade card features @stampinupofficial products; Pretty Florals Bundle and the Florals in Bloom Designer Series Paper (DSP).

This patterned paper is so beautiful, I didn’t know which piece to use first, but I selected this one as it has my favourite colours. The flowerrs are stamped in Secret Sea, Petunia Pop (both 1st & 2nd generation) and the stems are watercoloured with Shy Shamrock to get the lighter shade.

But here’s the wow when you open the card!

Here’s the side view where you can really see why it gets its name. I decided to use a more muted pattern paper on the inside to let the feature of this card shine. I stamped the floral image overr the pop up panel in Secret Sea to add more of a soft design element.

That window is die cut using the Nested Essentials dies, as are the layering elements. A strip of Window Sheet holds the sentiment layers in place. More of the same flowers are added here.

Both of the sentiments are from the Simply Said stamp set. Those gorgeous Flat Pearls finish it off nicely with the little Gingham Ribbon bow.

Lisa Curcio has a YouTube Tutorial for this but I have converted it to suit metric measurements.

Smoky Slate: Z Fold card with Everyday Arches and Beautiful Butterflies

Week 49 – Smoky Slate

This handmade card features a Smoky Slate card base measuring 29.7cm x 10.5cm, scored at 9.9cm & 19.8cm and folded in three and dry embossed with the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing folder. The Everyday Arches dies are used to die cut 3 x Bubble Bath arches, 3 x Smoky Slate arches and 3 x Basic White arches.

The large butterfly die is cut in the three colours and glued together in the centre. The body is die cut in Basic Black card. Two of the Basic White arches are stamped with Versamark ink, White WOW Emboss Powder added and melted with my Heat Tool. A Blending Brush with Bubble Bath ink is blended over the butterflies to reveal the magic! This is known as the Emboss Resist Technique.

I also took the Smoky Slate and Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers and gently placed the larger tip inside the lid and carefully flicked ink onto the White arches to get the splatters.

When assembling the card, the Bubble Bath arches are glued on first to the card base, then a piece of gold Open Weave Trim across the card length. The White and Slate arches are glued together and then onto the card.

The sentiment is also heat embossed with White Wow Emboss Powder and added on Mini Dimensionals. Some sequins were added to the centre of the butterfly and around the card.

The centre panel is splattered with Blends Markers and embellishments around the edges. This is the panel for writing a message. Thes smaller butterflies were die cut from Bsic White card that I splattered with the Blends Markers before die cutting. Then added the body in Basic Black card.

The last panel is the same as the front panel with emboss resist and blending, and some more die cut butterflies and sequins added.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for inspiration using Soft Sea Foam.

Shaded Spruce CCBH: Happiest of Birthdays

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 45 – Shaded Spruce

Today I feature the Mini Alphabet dies and the Paper Florist dies. I began by adding a piece of Adhesive sheet (your best friend when it comes to this!) to the back of some Basic White card before die cutting the Mini Alphabet. Once die cut, I popped out each of the letters and adhered the main panel to the Shaded Spruce card base. I coloured the letters, before removing the backing and adhering them back into place. The flowers were die cut and coloured the same way.

The Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers used to colour the letters and the flowers are: Lemon Lolly, Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party, Azure Afternoon, Fresh Freesia & Berry Burst. Some Wink of Stella is added to the centres.

On the inside, I used my Blending Brush to add some Shaded Spruce ink around the edges and stamped one of my favourite sentiments [Throughout the Year] and added some more flowers/leaves. The Adhesive-backed Shiny Sequins in the Lemon Lolly colour finishes the card off perfectly.

Translucent Florals card with All About Autumn Specialty DSP

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 21 – Daffodil Delight

Today’s card uses the Translucent Florals Bundle (stamp set & dies), along with some of the gorgeous All About Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper. I chose a piece in Moody Mauve, so selected the cardbase in the same colour.

Daffodil Delight Fresh Freesia Moody Mauve Parakeet Party Colour Combinations Craft with Kate

I selected my colours first and stamped lots of the images, die cut them, then went about arranging them on my card front. Once I had an idea, I added dimensionals to the back of each one and placed them to the card, starting with the leaves, then the Fresh Freesia flowers, Daffodil Delight flowers, then the smaller Moody Mauve ones.

I wanted some sparkle, so die cut the More Dazzle Specialty paper for the stamen and a couple of tiny flowers. The Daffodil Delight card flowers have a Tinsel Gem placed in the centre.

Soft Sea Foam Blog Hop ~ Interactive Pansy Patch

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 45 – Soft Sea Foam

Tonight’s card features the Pansy Petals DSP, Pansy Patch Bundle and the Give It a Whirl dies.

My card base is Soft Sea Foam (tent fold design). The top layer is two pieces of the Pansy Petals DSP. I placed them in my Cut & Emboss Machine and placed the large die over the top to work out where the join would be in the centre. After die cutting this large piece, I then used the circle piece from the dies to cut the window.

Turning the scallop circle mechanism (where you see the arrow), turns to feature other stamped images! Starting with the happy birthday sentiment, then next is a flower ready to bloom.

Then rotate again, you have this gorgeous pansy. The stems and leaves are stamped in Soft Sea Foam and the petals are Fresh Freesia (1st an 2nd generation stamping). The DSP layer is adhered with Dimensionals to allow space behind for the mechanism to turn. I added a small strip of Soft Sea Foam card across the centre join of the DSPs for a neater look.

Here you can see the mechanism better. The brad which the mechanism spins on, is hidden behind the scallop circle on the front (behind the Brushed Brass Butterfly). This is popped up on Mini Dimensionals.

I finished with adding three Brushed Brass Butterflies and three 2021-2023 In Color Jewels.

CCBH Petal Pink: Friendly Hello

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 35 – Petal Pink

Tonight’s card focuses on the Saleabration double item, Friendly Hello stamp set and 12″ x 12″ Designer Papers. Both of these items can be selected free with a $180 product order!

SAB Friendly Hello 159990

Card 1 – I have used the Basic Borders dies to cut the lovely scalloped edging and the Scalloped Contours dies for the white centre panel. The stamping is done in Black Stazon, Petal Pink and Pool Party with the same inks used to colour the bird using Blender Pens.

Friendly Hello SAB card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2022

I added Wink of Stella to all the flowers for extra shine. The sentiment and the bird image were fussy cut using paper snips before adding with mini dimensionals.

Friendly Hello SAB card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia, 2022

Card 2 – pretty much uses the same products, but I have stamped directly onto the DSP background in Misty Moonlight ink. The new Vellum Layering Designs adds a softness to the background and I have die cut it with the Scalloped Contour dies. The Misty Moonight layer is cut using the Stitched Rectangle dies and then the smaller of the Scalloped Contour dies in Petal Pink card. This is stamped in Versamark ink with the same stamp as the background. White Emboss powder added and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Friendly Hello Bundle SAB by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2022 Petal Pink, Misty Moonlight

The bird image is stamped in Misty Moonlight, fussy cut and colour using Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers (Petal Pink & Pool Party). A few extra leaves were stamped and glued behind the main image, added with dimensionals. This gave some extra depth.

The sentiment is also White Heat Embossed onto Misty Moonlight card and fussy cut with Paper Snips. Two pieces of the new 1/8″ Cotton Ribbon Combo pack were tied in a bow and added with a Glue Dot.

Flowering Tulips

Today I have the pretty Tulip Fields Bundle [Tulip Fields stamp set & Windmill Fields dies]. Purchase this bundle and you can select an item for FREE during Saleabration!

As soon as I saw this bundle, I knew I had to have it. It reminds me of our day trips to Tesselaar Tulip Festival in Silvan.

My card base is Mint Macaron with some Basic White cloud die cuts. The tulips layers are Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Highland Heather with dimensionals between the layers for depth.

The windmill is cut from the Cork specialty paper for the base and then Soft Suede card for the top layer and the blades. The blades are attached with a brass brad so they can spin!

On the inside, I added a white insert with a simple sentiment (Flowering Tulips stamp set) and some more of the same colour smaller tulip border dies. The sentiment on the front is from the Flowering Tulips set also and cut with the Dual Oval Punch.

Bouquet of Love

Tonight’s focus is on the amazing Bouquet of Love Hybrid Folder which also includes a heart die and sits inside the folder to cut at the same time as embossing the cardstock!!! Yes, it is amazing!

This first card is very dramatic – it started off being a Blushing Bride card, but I found it a little underwhelming. I placed the embossed piece back into the folder and inked the opposite side of the folder with Black Memento ink. Carefully, I closed the folder and ran it back through my machine and wow, what a result. I wanted it a little darker though, so repeated the process and here is the result.

Bouquet of Love Hybrid folder inked by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2022

I glued it to a layer of Basic Black card, which is how I got that black heart in the centre. Then I glued it to the Blushing Bride card. Next I added the gingham ribbon bow, die cut the flowers/leaves and stamped a sentiment. These were all added with Mutipurpose Glue and the ribbon with a Glue Dot. Oops, I just realised that one of the Irridescent Rhinestone Jewels has fallen off the larger flower.

Bouquet of Love Hybrid folder inked by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2022 feature

On the inside, I added a white panel and simply glued the heart to the centre which was the piece that cut out in the first run through the die cutting & embossing machine.

Bouquet of Love Hybrid folder inked by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2022 inside

This next card is just simply embossed and die cut and then I placed a piece of the Abstract Beauty Specialty DSP behind the heart. Then I mount this onto a piece of Blushing Bride card. I added a small piece of white ribbon from the top of the heart snd up over the top of the card and adhered it behind before gluing onto the Thick Basic White card base.

Bouquet of Love Hybrid folder by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2022

I tied a bow with the same ribbon and adhered it with a glue dot. Basic Rhinestone Jewels were the last to be added to finish it off with a bit of bling! The inside was decorated the same as the previous card. I deliberately left a sentiment off this card, as it could be used for so many different occasions from Wedding, Anniversary, Birthday to Mother’s Day!
