Whale Wobble card

I just love how quickly this card came together!

Predominantly using the patterned paper, this is the main feature of this card, with very little stamping. In fact, the only stamping is the sentiments, fish and a little bit on the anchor!

Whale Wobble card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2020

The Whale Builder punch was used to punch out the whale from a piece of the patterned paper and a wobble element was placed behind it to create the 3D effect. Click here to see the whale wobbling!

I also used the Smooth Sailing dies to cut some extra seaweed/plants to add to the scene and the Brass Foil anchor.

Decorating the inside with some more designer paper, seaweed die cuts and a sentiment completes the card!

Heart of Christmas in July

Heart of Christmas image

Welcome to our first Heart of Christmas with the Art with Heart Team. Each month we will share Christmas inspiration with you using current Stampin’ Up! products. Make sure you “Follow my Blog” by entering your email address to the right of this screen, so you don’t miss out on seeing my posts!

The 2020 August-December Mini Catalogue will be available to customers early in August, but as a demonstrator, we get an extra month early to order before anyone else. So tonight I am sharing some of the new products I have had fun creating with!

New product that I am using tonight are:

  • In the Pines Bundle [155182]*
  • In the Pines Stamp Set [153448]
  • Pine Woods Dies [153563]
  • Trimming the Town Designer Paper [153491]
  • Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper [153513]
  • Blue Adhesive Backed Gems [ 153547]
  • Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folders [153574]
*Save 10% when buying a Bundle (stamp set & dies)

The colours I will be using in tonight’s projects are:

Balmy Blue Misty Moonlight Old Olive White

For my first two cards, I am using only the Designer Paper, no stamping, die cutting or embossing! Two very quick and simple cards using this amazing paper. The designs definitely need little else added to create fantastic Christmas cards. The sentiment is another full sheet of small sentiments and I simply cut the sentiments apart and added then to the card with mini dimensionals. Some of the Blue Adhesive Backed Gems have been used on each of my cards tonight.

This next card uses the Stamparatus to line up the trees for super easy stamping. The top row of trees were stamped 3 times each before moving the plate on the stamparatus across 2 notches and stamping again. The bottom row was stamped once each to get that look of depth. Some of the coordinating dies were used at the bottom for the snow hills. The sentiment was placed on the clear block and because they are photopolymer, they can be curved on the block to go with the curve of the snow.

Have I said how much I love this designer paper?!! The patterns are so beautiful and this card shows off another two of the designs perfectly. The one behind the tree has a diagonal pattern and I thought it was perfect, like the tinsel wrapped around the tree!

In the Pines & Trimming the Town DSP Olive Stampin Up by Kate Morgan Australia 2020.

This final card tonight is similar to the previous one, although I have placed some Balmy Blue Glimmer paper behind the die cut image and a small strip across the centre. I also used the new embossing folder on the Balmy Blue panel.

Forever Fern with the Baby Wipe Technique

AWHT Creative Showcase

The Art With Heart Team are back with another Creative Showcase, this time featuring different colouring techniques. The Stampin’ Up! range contains a bevy of functional and effective colouring tools; Blends Markers, Water Painters, Inks, Daubers, Watercolour Pencils, Stampin’ Write Markers and more. Enjoy the amazing projects our team members have to share with you, demonstrating these products.

Now let’s get started!

Tonight I am sharing the baby wipe technique featuring the Forever Fern Bundle. To get started setting up your technique, you will need a couple of baby wipes folded in half on a plate. Take your chosen ink refill bottles, and place a few drops of each colour randomly so you have different colours next to each other, leaving a little space between the colours so they can spread and merge. This is now your inkpad, stamp your image right into the baby wipes. When using this technique, you want to make the most of the ink, so expect to make loads of projects with stamped images from the one batch. I stamped lots of sheets of A4 Shimmery White card to make the most of it!

Bumblebee Jade Magenta

I stamped the background with the one image. The foliage behind the sentiment is stamped in Just Jade ink and die cut and another of the leaf images stamped the same way as the background.

How gorgeous does that sentiment look in all those pretty merged colours?!

My next card I used the inlay technique. The foliage is stamped using the baby wipe technique and then the Just Jade layer is die cut with only the dies randomly placed before being embossed with the Greenery embossing folder. This is glued to the Magenta Madness layer and then the foliage glued inside! The sentiment is stamped on white card and die cut with the Tasteful Labels dies.

The gold hoop embellishment is added and some more foliage is die cut out of card stock and popped up on dimensionals on the edge of the hoop. To finish off I added a bumblebee gingham bow, In Color Enamel dots and some of the gold thread.

My final card tonight is my favourite. I love the background image in these colours. It is a more delicate leaf image and very feminine.

The Forever Greenery Trim Combo pack has this gold thread and when you cut it in small pieces, it unravels and you get these delicate threads. I placed them behind the die cut images for a softer look.

Of course, with some left over images, I added these die cuts to the inside of each card!

Colour Creations Showcase – Cajun Craze

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase

Tonight’s Stampin’ Up! colour is Cajun Craze, a real deep rusty brown colour!

I will admit it right now, it is my least favourite colour in the Stampin’ Up! range, but when used in small doses, it can be effective!

Tonight’s card features Cajun Craze, Pool Party and Whisper White.

The Pool Party card base is embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder. The next layer is die cut with the Ornate Layers Dies and white layer is cut with the Stitched Rectangle dies.

Arrange a Wreath Bundle for Crajun Craze Colour Creations Showcase by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2020

The wreath stamp is inked up with Cajun Craze ink and I stamped this onto scrap paper before onto my card layer. This is called stamping off or 2nd generation stamping. The full colour was just too dark for what I was wanting.

To create the die cut wreath, I first took a clear block, placed some Cajun Craze ink on it and a drop of Frost White Shimmer Paint. Using the Water Painter, add some water and mix the ink & paint together and brush it across a piece of white card. Once dry, cut the wreath and glue it on top of the stamped wreath. Cut the edges off from around the overhanging edges. Glue the white layer to the Pool Party layer and add the sentiment in 2nd generation stamping. These layers are added to the card base with dimensionals.

Die cut the small and large flowers and glue them to the front and inside card. Place a Champagne Rhinestone in the centre of each flower and add a pretty Pool Party Sheer ribbon bow.

Some Wink of Stella is added to the flowers on the front of the card and also to the sentiment.

Misty Moonlight Special

The Flowers for Every Season designer paper is just amazing, from the vibrant colours to the more subdue colours in this sheet. I think Misty Moonlight is my favourite of the NEW In Colors, and I love this particular patterned paper in the pack.

Misty Moonlight & Flowers for Every Season DSP by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2020

This card is very simple, but I feel that the paper does all the talking and I didn’t want to cover it up too much. Hence the vellum layer behind the sentiment.

Bright Magenta Birthday

Tonight I am featuring this stunning Designer Paper, Flowers for Every Season with the NEW in Color, Magenta Madness. Oh my, the bright and cheery colours here make my heart so happy!!!!

Magenta Madness Feminine Handmade card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2020

The Well Written dies were cut multiple times and glued together to add some depth and so they pop up from the card a little. Those butterflies are die cut in Brass Foil and add a gorgeous shine. The centres of the flowers have the Bumblebee coloured Enamel Dots!

Behind the die cut images, you can see the whisper white layer, but can you also see the vellum layer behind it? I felt it was needed so the sentiment didn’t get too lost on that amazing designer paper.

Colour Creations Showcase – Bumble Bee

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase

Tonight’s Stampin’ Up! colour is the NEW In Color, Bumblebee!

I have two cards for you and they feature all the New In Colors and the gorgeous Flowers for Every Season Designer Paper.

Bumblebee Cinnamon Cider Whisper White

Bumblebee card using Stampin Up Flowers for Every Season DSP & Well Written dies by Kate Morgan, Australia 2020

To create this bow, I cut a length of ribbon (approximately 9″) and tied the bow in the centre so you have two long tails. Glue these tails at the back of the card before adding this entire layer to your card base. I did place a glue dot behind the bow, just to hold it in place.

My next card is a Peek a boo window card!

Peek a Boo Window 14th birthday card using Stampin Up Prized Peony by Kate Morgan Australia 2020

To create the window, simply place your die over the card in your machine, but place the top clear plate only over the section of the die that you want to cut, leaving part of it exposed, then run through your machine. Score a line straight across so the two cut edges meet to create the window opening.

Peek a Boo Window 14th birthday card using Stampin Up Prized Peony by Kate Morgan, Australia 2020..

I cut an extra oval from white card to place on the front of the window to stamp on.

I also cut a slightly larger oval to place behind the front layers to stamp on. This is glued down before adhering the top layers. This allows for the card base to be a normal A6 card with a sentiment and for your written message inside.

Peek a Boo Window 14th birthday card using Stampin Up Prized Peony by Kate Morgan, Australia 2020.

When the card is open, I have stamped a message using the Family Party stamp set. It is s wonderful set for personalising your message.

Arrange a Wreath this Christmas

Can you believe it is July already? Where has this year gone?!

Tonight you may not quite be ready for what I am about to share with you, but I have my first Christmas card!

I know it is always a panic towards the end of the year, to be ready for Christmas, as it comes around so fast when we are super busy. I start in July and make one or two cards a week, so by the time 1 December comes, I have a nice little stash of cards to send out in the post.

Anyway here goes!

I using the Arrange a Wreath Bundle from the 2020-21 Annual catalogue and it’s a beauty. I have created a square card with a layer of the new In Color, Just Jade textured with the Greenery embossing folder, love it. Then a layer of designer paper from the Flowers for Every Season paper pack.

Christmas card using Arrange a Wreath in Just Jade by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2020

The wreath is die cut in Just Jade and the flowers in Poppy Parade to coordinate with the designer paper. The signage is stamped in Crumb Cake ink and the sentiment in Black ink. I attached some Linen Thread so it is hanging from the wreath and added a little bow at the top. These die cut elements are added with dimensionals for that real wreath effect.

Colour Creations Showcase – Blushing Bride

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase

Tonight’s Stampin’ Up! colour is Blushing Bride!

Oh how I love this Arrange a Wreath Bundle 🤍 and especially with this colour combination of Blushing Bride, Magenta Madness and Whisper White.

Blushing Bride Magenta Madness Whisper White

White card base: 12.5cm x 25cm, scored at 12.5cm
Blushing Bride Layer: 11.5cm x 11.5cm, embossed with the Greenery Embossing folder

Arrange a Wreath Feminine Handmade Birthday Card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2020

The 3 x wreaths are die cut in each of the coloured cardstock. The Magenta Madness and White wreaths are glued together and the Blushing Bride wreath is added on top with mini dimensionals. Add some Wink of Stella to the Blushing Bridge wreath.

Stamp 8 x hearts in Magenta Madness ink and die cut them out. These are added with mini dimensionals and a ribbon bow added with Multipurpose glue.

The sentiment is stamped onto white card and cut using the Everyday Label Punch and added to the centre with dimensionals. Are you wondering why the punched piece doesn’t look like the punch shape? Well, I needed a smaller shape but I liked the shape of the side of this punch, so when placing the sentiment into the punch, I punched it closer to the top of the sentiment, then turned it around and put it back into the punch from the inside and slid it in until I was happy with the position and punch!!! Tada!!!

Blended Peony on Just Jade

Here I am back again with another card using the Prized Peony bundle and another 60th birthday card!

This time I have stamped the large image and coloured it with Blends Combo Markers; Magenta Madness, Petal Pink and Just Jade.

Look at that incredible embossed Just Jade layer, using the Greenery Textured Embossing Folder.
