Tonight’s Stampin’ Up! colour is Cajun Craze, a real deep rusty brown colour!
I will admit it right now, it is my least favourite colour in the Stampin’ Up! range, but when used in small doses, it can be effective!
Tonight’s card features Cajun Craze, Pool Party and Whisper White.
The Pool Party card base is embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder. The next layer is die cut with the Ornate Layers Dies and white layer is cut with the Stitched Rectangle dies.
The wreath stamp is inked up with Cajun Craze ink and I stamped this onto scrap paper before onto my card layer. This is called stamping off or 2nd generation stamping. The full colour was just too dark for what I was wanting.
To create the die cut wreath, I first took a clear block, placed some Cajun Craze ink on it and a drop of Frost White Shimmer Paint. Using the Water Painter, add some water and mix the ink & paint together and brush it across a piece of white card. Once dry, cut the wreath and glue it on top of the stamped wreath. Cut the edges off from around the overhanging edges. Glue the white layer to the Pool Party layer and add the sentiment in 2nd generation stamping. These layers are added to the card base with dimensionals.
Die cut the small and large flowers and glue them to the front and inside card. Place a Champagne Rhinestone in the centre of each flower and add a pretty Pool Party Sheer ribbon bow.
Some Wink of Stella is added to the flowers on the front of the card and also to the sentiment.

Kate, this is such a pretty card! I love how the 2nd generation colour of Cajun Craze looks with Pool Party. And what a pretty colour Cajun Craze is when mixed with the Shimmer Paint. Such a clever use of this not too popular colour.

Such a brilliant way to incorporate Cajun Craze, Kate. The use of Pool Party cardstock and the frost white shimmer paint is genius.

A gorgeous card Kate. I love the sensitivity with which you have used the Cajun Craze, both by stamping off and by mixing it with shimmer paint. Your colour combo works well. Wonderful. XXX
