Real Red: Simply Beautiful Watercolored Flowers Birthday card

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 45 – Real Red

This handmade card features a Basic Beige card base stamped with Versamark ink and a splatter stamp for a soft tone on tone look. A piece of Basic White card is diecut with the Beautifully Celebrated dies is run throught the Lovely Stripes 3D Embossing Folder and adhered to the centre of the card.

The flowers and leaves are stamped in Versamark ink on Watercolor paper, Clear Embossing Powder added and melted with my Heat Tool. These are then watercoloured using Real Red and Lemon Lime Twist inks & water with a brush, then diecut with the coordinating dies. Some more foliage is diecut with Basic White card and Vellum. The stamen are cut in Vellum & Gold Foil. The Simply Said sentiment is Gold Heat Embossed. You can also see some delicate threads, these are the Gold Twisted Thread that I unravelled. Wink of Stella is splatted by lightly tapping it against a Bone Folder.

I also shared this Flowers Fair card earlier in the week on Instagram & Facebook using Blends Combo markers.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next week for Shaded Spruce inspiration.

Pumpkin Pie: Flowers Fair

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 44 – Pumpkin Pie

These handmade cards features the new Flowers Fair stamp set (a large background stamp) was the first to catch my eye in the new release products for March. I see so many possibilities for ways to colour these gorgeous flowers.

My first card is stamped in Black Memento ink onto white card and coloured with Watercolor Pencils, then I used a Blender Pen to blend the colour to make it more vibrant.

The second card I stamped in Versamark ink onto Basic Black card, added White Emboss Powder and melted it with the Heat Tool. Using the Craft White ink refill, I added a few drops onto a Clear Acrylic Block and using a brush, filled in all the images.

The White outlines were coloured using Blends Combo Markers and once dry, the images are filled with Wink of Stella (it’s hard to see the sparkle in the photo).

Both image layers are mounted onto a layer of Pumpin Pie cardstock then onto the card base. The sentiments are from the Greetings For All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack and some retired ribbons. To finish off, I added a few of the little gold Dragonflies I had in my stash!

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next week for Real Red inspiration.

Be sure to add the Product of the Month (POM) for $9 when you add $125+ in product to your cart.

Old Olive: Simply Beautiful water coloured flowers

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 35 – Old Olive

This handmade card features the Simply Beautiful bundle and the Banner Sayings bundle from the new Mini Catalogue and Online Exclusives.

On a Thick Basic White card base, I added a piece of Old Olive Two-tone cardstock embossed with the Gathering Leaves 3D Embossing folder. I used a sanding block to reveal the white core, on the diagonal, behind the flowers. It’s hard to see, but I splattered some watered down White Craft ink across the card front and set it aside to dry.

The imags are all stamped onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper in Versamark ink, Gold WOW Emboss powder added and melted with my heat tool. I also did the corner of the evenlope and the inside of the card. The sentiment [Banner Sayings] is also done the same way onto Old Olive cardstock and cut out using the Three Banner Punch.

The leaves are coloured with Old Olive and Mossy Meadow ink. The flowers I started with a diluted Timid Tiger ink, then Strawberry Slush ink followed by Poppy Parade ink. Using a fine paint brush, I added the flicks of Poppy Parade ink.  Set aside to dry.

Once the images are dry, they are cut out with the coordinating dies and adhered to the card. The largest flower is added on Dimensionals. I took the Wink of Stella and splattered glitter across the entire card for beautiful shine.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next week for Peach Pie inspiration.

Crushed Curry: Watercolour Charming Day

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 18 – Crushed Curry

This handmade card features the Charming Day stamp set and the Greetings For All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack.

This sentiment is just perfect with these colours reminding me of glorious sunshine, and it sure would lift the spirits of the recipient. It could also be used for any occasion like a Birthday, Mother’s Day, Sympathy, Thinking of You or Just Beacause.

How you can re-create this card

1. Create the base – a Thick White card base, 21cm x 14.9cm, scored @ 10.5cm.

2. Stamp and colour – the largest image is stamped randomly onto some Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with Versamark ink. Gold WOW Emboss Powder is added and melted with my Heat Tool. I water coloured the images with the following inks: Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green & Mossy Meadow and left to dry.

3. Layering – Some Gold Twisted Thread is twice wrapped around the Watercolor layer before it is adhered to some Gold Foil, then onto the card base.

4. Add the sentiment – one of the sentiments from the Greetings For All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack is added on Dimensionals.

5. Finishing touches – stamp the image on the inside corner and on the envelope to complete the set.

Mossy Meadow: Storybook Friends with Pick a Season

It’s with a sad heart that I inform you, effective immediately, we are no longer continuing with our Art with Heart Colour Creations blog hop for the time being. However, I will still continue to share my projects with you each week, as it is such a great way of getting out of my comfort zone and experimenting with all the colours in the Stampin’ Up! collections, especially those we struggle to use.

So, in saying that, here I am with our next colour, Mossy Meadow!

Week 37 – Mossy Meadow

Today the Storybook Moments Designer Series Paper features with the Everyday Arches dies. You may be wondering where the arches are, but they have been turned into an oval! To do this, run the die through your die cutting machine from the arched end first, but stop when you get 2/3rds of the way along the die and rewind.  Remove the die and turn it 180º and line up with the little dots so the die will then cut the other end through your machine, but remember to stop and rewind so it doesn’t cut all the way through. Repeat this with the die one size larger with Mossy Meadow card to create the matt layer.

Stamp the mound image (Storybook Friends stamp set) and colour with your Water Painter and inkpads (Mossy Meadow & Calypso Coral) . Stamp your sentiment and add two of the pre-printed diecut images from the paper pack!

On the inside I used the negative space from the oval die cut to add some ink blending for the panel to write my sentiment. Some more stamping and a a strip of the patterned paper as used on the front of the card!

Storybook Friends stamp set added a cute extra touch to go with the Pick a Season stamp set (free with a $100+ order during Saleabration). I stamped the small house image in the background of my card base, layered a strip of patterned paper across the centre. The oval is created the same way as explained above with the Everyday Arches dies before stamping the tree & grass (Pecan Pie, Mossy Meadow & Calypso Coral). The fence and bunny are stamped in Pecan Pie, the bunny coloured with Blends Combo Markers (Light SU900, Medium SU500 & SU600).

Some Gold Twisted Thread is wrapped around and tied in a knot. This panel is added on Dimensionals and a White WOW heat embossed sentiment (Simply Said), die cut (Happy Little Things dies) and glued on. Three Gold Low Profile Dots are added below.

Fresh Freesia: Country Flowers Accordian Double Gatefold card

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 25 – Fresh Freesia

Today we mark the halfway point through our colours at Week 25!!! Which has been your favourite so far?!!

I am featuring the Country Flowers Bundle with the Country Woods Designer Series Paper (DSP) in this fun fold design. I have used Fresh Freesia, Misty Moonlight and Summer Splash as my main colour palette.

Accordian Double Gatefold card for Fresh Freesia Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024

Each of these pots are die cut in white card, but before removing the card, turn them over and run your stylus tip on the Take Your Pick Tool around the inside edge of the die for more definition. Then turn it over and use a Blending Brush to lightly add some ink to create that crisp white border. The flowers and leaves are stamped in Versamark ink, White WOW Emboss Powder added and melted with a Heat Tool. Colour the images using ink and a Water Painter. Around the edges, I added a light wash of Misty Moonlight to soften the harshness of the white edges.

Don’t you think that wood panelling of the Country Woods Designer Series Paper looks great in the background?!! The Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder was used on the Fresh Freesia panels.

If that is not enough room to write your message, add a White panel to the back of the card!

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for inspiration using Garden Green.

Please enjoy the wonderful inspiration of our next team member, Amie McIlroy.

Basic Gray: Country Birdhouse Shabby Chic card

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 9 – Basic Gray

Today I feature the Country Birdhouse and Country Flowers Bundles and the Country Woods DSP.

A Basic Gray cardbase with a layer that was dry embossed with the Fun Patterns Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Then I used a sponge dauber to add White craft ink gently over the raised pattern and around the edges of the card. Paper Snips were used to rough up the edges before adhering this to the card base. The birdhouse is die cut from the Country Woods DSP, the roof and stand from Silver Foil and the scallop detail in Basic Gray ink and stamped with the same colour. A small piece of Basic Gray card was darkened with a Blending Brush and Basic Gray ink to place behind the hole. The Lost Lagoon leaves and the Basic White flowers were glued and added on dimensionals.

Shabby Chic Love card with Country Birdhouse Flowers Woods DSP for Basic Gray Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024 envelope

The bird is coloured using Watercolour Pencils Assortment 1 & 2 packs; Balmy  Blue, Coastal Cabana, Early Espresso, Basic Gray and White. I also added a little colour to the leaves. The centres of the flowers has Pearlised Enamel Effects (White).  The white twine was pulled apart and only two strands used for a finer bow.

Shabby Chic Love card with Country Birdhouse Flowers Woods DSP for Basic Gray Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024 watercolour pencils

On the inside the pot was stamped in Basic Gray ink directly onto the Country Woods DSP and die cut. This was the same for the envelope details. Some leaves and flowers were added and the sentiment fit perfectly to the left. I adore this sentiment, as it can be used for any occasion.

Azure Afternoon: Spotlight in Nature Watercolour & Baby Duckling card

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 7 – Azure Afternoon

Card 1

Features the Spotlight on Nature stamp set with some beautiful watercolouring.

On a Thick White card base are 2 matt layers of Peach Pie & Azure Afternoon cardstock. The Fluid 100 Watercolour paper is stamped with the floral image with Black Stazon ink .

Watercoloured card with Spotlight on Nature for Azure Afternoon Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

I then masked around the edges with some washi tape, before applying a watercolour wash with Azure Afternoon, Granny Apple Green & Pretty Peacock inks and a Water Painter. This is carefully applied around the floral image. Once this was dry (I used my Heat Tool to quicken the process), before adding some darker splatters and drops of water to carefully lift some of the colour. I carefully removed the washi tape.

Watercoloured card with Spotlight on Nature for Azure Afternoon Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024.

The image is coloured with Peach Pie ink for the flowers, and the leaves and stems I used Granny Apple Green & Pretty Peacock by mixing them on a clear acrylic block. The sentiment is stamped and fussy cut and added on Mini Dimensionals and one of the Brushed Brass Butterflies added.

The inside of the card and the envelope were decorated the same, by adding a masked circle of Azure Afternoon ink applied with a Blending Brush and then the beautiful butterfly image was stamped.

Card 2

Features the Charming Duckpond Bundle for a sweet baby card. A piece of the Country Woods DSP was cut to the card front size and die cut with the largest die. Behind this I added 2 more patterns from the same DSP pack, but I used a Blending Brush to add Azure Afternoon ink to the bottom section to reflect water.

Baby card with Charming Duckpond for Azure Afternoon Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

The mother duck & ducklings are stamped in Gray Granite and diecut before using my Wink of Stella to add a very light tone of Azure Afternoon ink & Peach Pie for the beak and feet. The duck in the water is just diecut and coloured. The reeds are cut from more of the same DSP and coloured the same way as the water.

The sentiment is stamped using the Unbounded Love stamp set and diecut using the Spotlight on Nature dies.
