Sneak Peek of Buffalo Check with Baby Bear & Copper accents

Welcome to another Art With Heart Team Colour Creations weekly Blog Hop. Today we are featuring Crumb Cake!!!

I am using the Baby Bear stamp set with the new Buffalo Check background stamp (available 5 September in the Holiday catalogue). I have only used two colours; Crumb Cake and Copper… can you believe that?!!!

Baby Bear is a photopolymer 3-step stamp and I used it with the Stamparatus to get the darkest colour I could for the 3rd image. The 2nd image is inked a couple of times and the 1st image only once, to get the colour variation. The Buffalo Check background stamp I also did with the Stamparatus to get a nice dark colour, reinking about 7 or 8 times!

I used the Versamark inkpad and wiped it along the edges of the checked layer and dipped it in copper embossing powder and heat set. I love how it gives a jagged look and not the perfect layer. I added a copper foil layer using the Layering Squares Scallop framelit before adding the baby bear layer with dimensionals. I love the copper trim bow too. Those metallic brass brads you’ll find on page 198 of the Annual catalogue!

AWH Blog Hop Colouring.jpg

Dear Crafters,

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring stamp sets that you can colour in. We hope our blog hop inspires you to pick up some Stampin’ Write Markers, Watercolour Pencils, Stampin Blends Markers or another form of colouring medium and colour in with your stamps. Don’t forget to contact any of the ladies on the blog hop to order any products, especially the limited edition colour your season products.

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from Claire Daly. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

My projects tonnight are a sneak peek into the upcoming Holiday catalogue available from 5 September and I’m using the Cauldron Bubble Bundle.

Colouring In Blog Hop with Cauldron Bubble by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia
I have used Gorgeous Grape for the card base and a layer of Call Me Clover. I stamped the stars in Gorgeous Grape ink before adding the spider web, die cut in Basic Black card. The little spider trinkets are also part of this suite and add that extra touch! The cat, broomstick and the witch are stamped in Memento Black ink and coloured in with Stampin’ Blends Markers; Call Me Clover, Highland Heather, Basic Black, Ivory and Bronze. Then these were die cut and added to the card with dimensionals.

For my next card, I have used Basic Black as my card base with a layer of Highland Heather, and a strip of the Toil & Trouble DSP. Under this is a piece of the stunning Black Glitter Organza ribbon! It is so sparkly and pretty. I have used the Watercolour Pencils to colour in these images and blended the colour with a Blender Pen.

Can you see how sparkly the caudron is and the spider web?!!! Well, to create these, I used the new Champagne Glimmer Paint and an AquaPainter to cover a piece of Basic Black card. Once it is dry, you can die cut the cauldron. I stamped the cauldron again in Granny Apple Green and Real Red, coloured them with Watercolour pencils, before fussy cutting the flames and the bubbles and gluing them to the cauldron. The stars are also created in a similar way, with Champagne Glimmer Paint of Black and Gold Shimmer Paint on whisper white card.

I also coloured the hat and used the Granny Apple Green watercolour pencil to create the band across the hat, gluing it on with Tombo Multipurpose glue. Make sure you purchase your Watercolour Pencils Assortment 2 pack now, as they won’t be available after 31st August. They really are awesome for anyone who loves to colour!

Heart of Christmas: Dashing Deer

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop.jpg

The Art With Heart Team ladies had so much fun creating Christmas projects for our weekly Heart of Christmas blog hop last year, that we are returning with weekly Chrissy festivities for you! Once a week we will have Christmas inspiration until the end of November.

Today, I am sharing a sneak peek of some of the lovely products in the new Holiday Catalogue, which starts on 5th September.

I’m using the Dashing Deer Bundle; Dashing Deer stamp set and the coordinating Detailed Deer Thinlits dies. Who doesn’t love a Reindeer?!!! I also feature the Dashing Along DSP. You can earn this exclusive Dashing Along Designer Series Paper pack for free (in addition to Stampin’ rewards) when hosting a holiday catalogue event with $400 in sales from 1st – 30th September.

The Swirls & Curls Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is used on the Crumb Cake base card. Three panels; Gold Foil, Cherry Cobbler and the Dashing Along DSP are cut to different lengths with the Banner Triple Punch and layered on each other. The sentiment is stamped with Versamark ink and Gold Embossing Powder applied, then heat set.

The deer being the main feature, had to be sparkly, so I cut it in Gold Glimmer of course!!!

The inside of the card has another sentiment stamped in Cherry Cobbler and the two swirly dies are also part of this same bundle, finishing off the inside nicely.

Colour Creations: Coastal Cabana with Bella & Friends

Hello Crafters,

Welcome to another Art With Heart Team Colour Creations weekly Blog Hop. Today we are featuring Coastal Cabana!!! I have to say, I was so excited that it returned with the colour revamp this year. I just adore it ♥

I got inspiration from Tina Rappe for this card, but changed it up to suit our Australian paper sizes. I also made one for my daughter’s 12th birthday with the Pretty Kitty which you can see here. This was one of the cards I taught at my last card class too!

Today I am using the Bella & Friends stamp set with the Garden Impressions DSP which is a stack of 6″ x 6″. This pack doesn’t actually have Coastal Cabana as one of its colours, but I thought this coordinated quite well anyway.

The front panel is embossed using the Basket Weave TIEF. I thought it was perfect for this card, as I imagine most puppies having a basket to sleep in!

The puppy is coloured with the Watercolour Pencils; Coastal Cabana, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Real Red then used the Blender Pen to blend and smooth out the colour.

I had a small strip of the Designer Paper left over, so I added it the centre layer where I will add my message. The ribbon is a retired one from a Sale-a-bration freebie from a few years back!

Lip Balm Box

Hello Crafters,

Today, I have a cute Lip Balm Box that The Paper Pixie shared on her blog on 30 July. You can get the instructions here. I made one to just see how easy it was, and yes, Julie was right!

Lip Balm Holder for Happy Birthday Gifts by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2018.JPG

I have used Highland Heather card for the base, some retired DSP and the Tropical thilnlits die for the leaf. The Itty Bitty Greetings, Happy Birthday stamped and added with mini dimensionals for some added height.

I think these would make fantastic party loot… pity I didn’t come across it a little earlier for my own kids parties!

Petals & More Memory Keeping

Hello Crafters,

As you know, July 30 – August 30 is a busy month for us and we have 2 birthdays done and another to go just in our immediate family!

Here is the Project Life page I did for my eldest who turned 12 using up some of the retired Petal Passion Memories & More Card Pack. It is is important to me to record these milestones and my kids often get out my albums and browse through them. They love looking back on the memories they have made so far ♥

The Large Number Framelits dies are also retired, but I will forever use them for my scrapbooking and memory keeping albums. Here I have cut them out with Black Glimmer paper.

I will share some more pages soon of my 9 year olds special day!

Do you create a scrapbook album or a form of Memory Keeping for your family to look back on in years to come? Life is too short and I love to have these memories for the future generations.

Colour Creations: Cherry Cobbler

Hello Crafters,

Welcome to another Art With Heart Team Colour Creations weekly Blog Hop. Today we are featuring Cherry Cobbler!!!

I am using this colour combination with the Cake Soiree stamp set and coordinating dies.

I Gold Embossed the cake and the edges of the Gorgeous Grape layer.

Colour Creation with Cherry Cobbler using Stampin Up Cake Soiree by Kate Morgan, Australia 2018.jpg

The sentiment on top of the cake is also embossed, but with White Embossing Powder. The photo doesn’t do the cake justice, because the gold embossing looks very dull, when in fact it is quite shiny. I used watercolour pencils to colour the flowers in the 3 coordinating colours and the white pencil to add some highlight. The flowers on the top of the cake were stamped in full colour and stamped off once for the lighter shade.

Unicorns for a special birthday girl!

Hello Crafters,

Yesterday it was my little girls birthday and she turned 9! She has this fascination like every other 9 year old girl, with unicorns, so check out this card I made especially for her. She loved it! I got loads of inspiration from various Pinterest pages.

Unicorn birthday card using Stampin Up Tropical Chic by Kate Morgan Australia.

The Tropical Chic bundle was perfect for the flowers and I stamped them in the gorgeous bright colours of the inkpads shown in the image above onto Shimmery White card for that added sparkle. The coordinating dies made it super easy to cut them out.

The eyes I cheated and printed off the internet. I have to admit, I did try and failed twice trying to draw them by hand, so I went to the trusty old computer and found these cute whimsical eyelashes! The ears I cut out by hand too as was the Gold Glimmer horn, but these were much easier to do. I added some Wink of Stella to the pink centres of the ears.

The two small hearts were punch from a heart border punch from my retired stock, but it’s so handy for these types of projects. The sentiment is from the Varied Vases stamp set and inked with Powder Pink ink before cutting with the Classic Label punch and trimmed at one end. I added it with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Thanks Coach for a wonderful netball season!

Hello Crafters,

Today I have a Double Z Fold Card made for my kids’ netball coaches… yep, there are 2 coaches so I had to make 2 of them!!!

I must admit, it did take quite a while to come up with creating the whole team on the one card, but I think this works quite well. The goals at either end and then all the players on the court, even with the centre circle! The team colours are a Gold and Burgundy, so the closest colours were Merry Merlot and Crushed Curry. I used Balmy Blue for the background, even thought most of the season I could have used Basic Gray or Smoky Slate (being the winter competition)!!!!

Thanks Netball Coach card using Stampin Up Punch Art by Kate Morgan Australia.

The net is made by stamping the image from the Sea of Textures stamp set and then die cut with the Pretty Pines, small pine cone thinit and trimmed. The players are all punch art using the Cookie Cutter punch, Fox Builder punch and the retired Owl builder punch. The centre circle was 2 circle punches; cut the smaller one, then line up the bigger one over where the smaller one was punched!

The bibs with the positions are stamped using the new Make a Difference stamp set!

Colour Creations: Diorama card featuring Calypso Coral and Sea of Textures

Hello Crafters,

Welcome to another Art With Heart Team Colour Creations weekly Blog Hop. Today we are featuring Calypso Coral!!!

I am using the Sea of Textures bundle to create this Diorama card. Calypso Coral is the perfect colour for the fish, coral and starfish!

Wonderful Adventure Diaorama card using Stampin Up Sea of Textures by Kate Morgan, Australia.JPG

I have also used Pool Party for the background and embossed it with the Seaside TIEF. Crushed Curry makes wonderful bright coral and Bermuda Bay, well it’s just a stunning colour for almost anything!

Wonderful Adventure Diaorama card using Stampin Up Sea of Textures by Kate Morgan Australia.

The measurements to make this card, I started with a piece of cardstock measuring 5⅞” x 11¾” and scored at 3½”, 4”, 7½”, 8, 11½”. Burnish all the scorelines, and die cut the circle . Remember, before you adhere the short end to the centre of the card, make sure you do all the decorating first, it makes it much easier. 😉

And here’s the inside of the card. I stamped off the netting image with Crushed Curry for a more subtle background effect on the white card, but stamped it full strength on the Pool Party card behind the circle cutout. The octopus is stamped tone on tone in Calypso Coral. The border around the die cut circle is a piece of the Nature’s Poem DSP.

Wonderful Adventure Diaorama card using Stampin Up Sea of Textures by Kate Morgan, Australia.

I love the layers of this with the Diorama style card acting like a port hole of a sunken ship.
