Today, I have a Lucky Elephant embossed in Silver!

Isn’t it gorgeous? Most elephants are gray, but I love how shiny the silver embossing makes my elephant stand out even more!

See the placement of the sentiment? Do you think it’s in a funny position, angled like that? Well, to be honest, when I stamped the string, I accidentally got ink on my finger and made a little smudge. But because I had almost finished my card and was so annoyed with myself, I placed that sentiment so it sort of covered the smudge (at the end of the AY on birthday!) oops. Argh, we all make mistakes, right?!!!!

Cool Treats Ice-cream Card

Dear Crafters,

Today I have a deliciously sweet looking card for you using the Cool Treats Bundle which I made for my mum’s birthday today!!! I’m able to post it for you now, as we celebrated her birthday yesterday.

Who doesn’t love ice-cream right?!!! Check out the coordinating Designer Series paper, Tasty Treats. The sentiment is one that you could use for many occasions, not just birthdays.

I love how versatile this bundle is going to be. You can create masculine or feminine or anything you like, but swapping the colours.

I love the chocolate sauce dripping on the top scoop of ice-cream with a coordinating enamel dot on top!

Check out the gorgeous lace doilies too! I just love them. They come in a large pack and they are whisper white on one side and very vanilla on the other, making them so versatile. Be sure to get some of those for your projects!

Blog Hop: Kids birthday cards & party items

Today I’m excited to bring you a blog hop with some of the awesome ladies in the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. Today we focus on the kids in our lives, from birthday cards to party ideas.

For my projects, I have used the Balloon Adventures Stamp Set, Balloon Pop-up Thinlits and the Sunshine Wishes Dies.

My colour scheme is Watermelon Wonder, Wisteria Wonder, Silver & White for a more girly theme and for the more masculine theme, I’ve used Pacific Point, Tip Top Taupe, Gold & White.

What kid doesn’t love a shaker card?!!! With these Balloon pop-up thinlits, shaker cards are so easy to create!

I used some of the Designer Series Paper stacks to create these cute little napkin fold treat holders. The sentiment was perfect too!

And what party is complete without cake, right?!!! Making these cupcake toppers with a stamp, punch and tooth pick, creates a wonderful suite for any party! (and yes, I baked these chocolate cupcakes just to take the photos for you!)

Nailed It Masculine Card

Dear Crafters,

Yesterday saw the release of 3 brand new Sale-a-bration items. Did you add any or all of them to your order? I had to have the glimmer paper, I just couldn’t go without some extra glitter!

Today, I have a masculine card using the Nailed It stamp set and coordinating Build It Framelits. I am certainly not a confident creator of masculine cards and I honestly don’t have too many boys or men in my life who I need to get creative for, but when I saw this one in the Occasions catalogue, I knew it was definitely one to add to the shopping cart!

The Specialty Designer Series Paper, Urban Underground, is the perfect compliment.

I love the little sentiments and stamps and small enough to embellish the background of the white circle layer.

I made a second card, to show how you can step it up for a more advanced stamper. Can you see the differences?

The second card has a lot of sponged edges and extra embellishments!

On this close up, you can see that I sponged the edges of the hammer the white circle, gray banner and the Designer Series Paper.

I have to admit, I am not a fan of the colour Delightful Dijon and as an In Colour that is retiring in June, I won’t be sad to say goodbye, BUT I do actually like it with this card 😉 It has certainly surprised me and I will be making many more masculine cards with it!

What do you think of these cards? For the stamper who cannot afford to have all the products, the first card is very achievable, however with a few extra dollars to buy the embellishments and some sponge daubers, you can add that extra touch.

Carousel Birthday Spinner Card with Glimmer

Today I sharing a sneak peek of 1 of the 3 new Sale-a-bration items that will be available from tomorrow!

I just adore this Carousel Birthday suite with the coordinating Designer Series paper. The sentiment is from the Suite Sentiment stamp set, and is such a fun font for this card.

I love this ferris wheel, but I felt that it needed to be spinning around, so I used the Layering Circle Framelits to die cut the wheel and make it into a spinner card using a brad in the centre.

This set also coordinates with the Up & Away Thinlits, so I was able to die cut the glimmer paper easily. In the glimmer paper pack, you get 12 sheets of 6″ x 6″ in 3 colours; Bermud Bay, Sweet Sugarplum & Mint Macaron.

Check out the Wink of Stella on the wheel too for an extra glimmer!

Kiss Goodbye to MS

Dear Crafters,

Today I have created a card that is a subject very close to my heart literally, as it is the demon that I live with every day, Multiple Sclerosis. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a condition of the central nervous system, interfering with nerve impulses within the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. It is characterised by sclerosis a Greek word meaning scars. These scars occur within the central nervous system and depending on where they develop, manifest into various symptoms.

I was first diagnosed in 2004, so I have been dealing with it for many years and up until the past couple of years I was doing fine. I will now embark on a change of treatment to monthly infusions, so I depending on how my body takes them, I may not be able to post quite as often as I would like, but please stay with me, as my craft and family is what keeps me going!!!

Today, I have a card which has the slogan “Kiss Goodbye to MS”. An initiative of MS Research Australia, the mission is to accelerate Australian research targeting the prevention, better treatments and a cure for MS.

The minute I saw the stamp set, Sealed with Love, I noticed the lips and knew I had to have this set to create my own cards for MS. It also had the word KISS, which is perfect for my sentiment. The black font I printed from my computer.

And check out my Everyday Hero wonder woman, she just says to me, we can beat this disease and it’s not going to define who we are!

Popping Box Card

Dear Crafters,

Recently I saw an amazing Tutorial by Gemma Clarke, a UK Demonstrator, who made this awesome popping box card and I have been wanting to make it ever since! She also has a link to her YouTube videos in two parts on her blog.

I have used the stunning Lift Me Up Bundle from the Occasions catalogue. I just love the brightness of the colours in these papers.

As you can see, it is a long box that is decorated with the Carried Away DSP.

Pull the ribbon tab and out pops this box!!! Amazing, right?!!!

But the thing is, this popping box folds flat to fit inside the long box. It has a rubber band mechanism to make it pop! If you want to see a short video of it opening click here, for the link on my Facebook page.

I also decorated the inside of the box.

On each of the 4 sides I decorated the popping box with stamps, DSP and die cuts.

Today I have created a multi-layered card used the Birds & Blooms Thinlits, Layering Circles Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits and the Best Birds and Awesomely Artistic Stamp sets.

On the left side of the card, I placed some coordinating DSP for a solid block of colour!

The bird & flowers have been coloured using the Clear Wink of Stella straight into the ink pads! Not sure if you can see that bit of shine?

Oh, and check out the lace stamp!!! Yes, because they are photopolymer and are so pliable, you can bend them onto your blocks to create a different look!!!

The sentiment is from the Avant Garden stamp set, which is one of the two Sale-a-bration FREE stamp sets I have used on this card!

I’m not sure if you can see the Wink of Stella on the flowers, but it just adds that extra little shine 😉

Paper Piecing

Dear Crafters,

Today I have created a card using the Paper Piecing Technique, not to be confused with the Paper Piercing Technique!

This technique is quite easy, but you need to like fussy cutting!!!!

I stamped the floral image onto the chosen Designer Series Paper and then fussy cut out the flowers petals with Paper Snips. I did the same for the leaves, but onto a different designer paper.

Stamp the image again (stem) onto your Very Vanilla card and then glue the fussy cut pieces over the top.

I added the cute little ribbon bow, using some of the metallic ribbon that I got for FREE during Saleabration when I placed a $90 order!!!
