Popping Box Card

Dear Crafters,

Recently I saw an amazing Tutorial by Gemma Clarke, a UK Demonstrator, who made this awesome popping box card and I have been wanting to make it ever since! She also has a link to her YouTube videos in two parts on her blog.

I have used the stunning Lift Me Up Bundle from the Occasions catalogue. I just love the brightness of the colours in these papers.

As you can see, it is a long box that is decorated with the Carried Away DSP.

Pull the ribbon tab and out pops this box!!! Amazing, right?!!!

But the thing is, this popping box folds flat to fit inside the long box. It has a rubber band mechanism to make it pop!  If you want to see a short video of it opening click here, for the link on my Facebook page.

I also decorated the inside of the box.

On each of the 4 sides I decorated the popping box with stamps, DSP and die cuts.

I added the gorgeous Carried Away Designer Series paper that I got for FREE during Sale-a-bration when I placed a $90 order!!!

What do you think of this striking project?

  1. I tried and I cannot convert this to inches. Has anybody converted this to inches? Thanks, I love the box and want to give it to my grand daughter for her b’day.

  2. Hi Kate, Loving your take on this internet sensation. What a great tutorial Gemma made. I used the Carousel Birthday for my take, and my class are making it at the moment. Will finish this week so pics on Friday. Cheers
