Colour Creations Showcase – Misty Moonlight – Origami folding and a simple Triangle Christmas card

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 28 – Misty Moonlight

This is such a gorgeous rich blue and I think my favourite blue tone in the Stampin’ Up! colours. I am naturally drawn to blue, being my favourite colour!

Tonight I have two cards for you – the first being a card that I had a bit of fun learning to fold some of our Flowers for Every Season DSP in Origami. It isn’t perfect, but I will practice some more to get those nice clean, crisp folds.

This floral paper is perfect for this fold and I was happy with the final look. The sentiment is from the Seaside Notions stamp set.

I mounted it onto some white card to frame it on the Misty Moonlight woodgrain patterned paper from the In Color DSP Pack. How beautiful are those Beaded Pearl centres?!!  They finish it off nicely.

My next card is a simple Christmas card using the Snowflake Splendor DSP, Stitched Triangle dies and the Christmas Layers dies for the snowflakes.

The Copper Star Designer Elements on top of the trees add a touch of elegance.

Please head over to Cathy’s blog to see the full list of participants in this week’s Colour Creations Showcase. We would love for you to visit each one and leave some comments if you feel inspired.

Jaded Gold Pines for the Christmas season

The In the Pines Bundle coordinates perfectly with the In Good Taste patterned papers. I also used some of the Just Jade sheets from the 2020-2022 In Color Paper Pack, behind the large tree cutout and also die cut a couple of the smaller trees, as well as a Gold Foil one and Just Jade one.

The layer of Just Jade card is embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder before I brushed the edges with the Versamark inkpad. Some Gold emboss powder is added and heat set. This adds the look of an extra layer, without the bulk of extra card. The sentiment is also Gold Embossed and cut out with the Classic Label Punch.

Die cut the fancy tree (largest) in the centre top of the woodgrain patterned paper and place some of the Just Jade patterned paper behind it. I selected that stripy patterned piece, as it looks a little like a string of lights or tinsel wrapped around the tree.

The Just Jade Ribbon is tied around the woodgrain layer, and in a bow, before it is adhered to the Just Jade card layer. Then add the smaller trees last.

Some Gold Faceted Gems were added to the tops of the trees.

On the inside, I added some leftover strips of card and patterned paper an another small tree.

I can’t believe I am still finishing off my Christmas cards – I normally have them all done, written messages inside and in the mail by 1 December, eek! Have you mailed your Christmas cards yet?

Colour Creations Showcase – Mint Macaron – Faceted Gift Box

AWHT Colour Creations ShowcaseEach week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 27 – Mint Macaron

This is a really easy gift box to put together, even though it looks quite fancy!

It stands at 14cm tall x 13cm wide and can fit gift card, chocolates, jewellery – lots of different gifts for this Christmas.

It uses a full sheet of A4 cardstock with some scoring and minimal cutting to create the base.

The free template can be found over on my Tutorial page.

The Ornate Garden DSP is super elegant with the touch of gold foil swirls.

The Small Blooms punch was used to cut the gold foil and some Gilded Gems added to the centres.

The tag is cut with the Label Me Fancy punch and some Linen Thread tied through to attach it to the Mint Macaron ribbon at the top.

Partridge in a Pear Wreath

Arrange a Wreath Bundle

My colour combination: Rich Razzleberry – Bermuda Bay – Bumblebee – Whisper White

Using Blending Brushes or a foam sponge roller, add colour directly from the inkpads of each of the feature colours onto a Whisper White strip of cardstock. This will create a beautiful soft background. Before adhering it to the front of your card base, flick some drops of Wink of Stella over it and allow it to dry for a few minutes.

Stamp 4 or 5 pears by inking them up on the Bumblebee inkpad, then take a Sponge dauber to add a little Bermuda Bay ink around the edges to get that two tone colour. Give your stamp a huff of breath to re-activate the ink before stamping onto white card, then cut them out with the coordinating die. Repeat the same process for the bird, starting with Bermuda Bay, then sponge Rich Razzleberry.

Die cut 3 wreaths in each of the colours and glue them together. Add the stamped images with dimenionals, so they pop up a little. Stamp your sentiment and add some Elegant Faceted Gems.

Quick and easy Christmas Pine Tree featuring DSP

Using the 2020-2022 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP in the background as well as behind the tree cut out, you can quickly create some elegant Christmas card. The In the Pines bundle and Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set are my must have items for the holiday season.

My colour combo: Just Jade, Cinnamon Cider, White

The Lovely Labels Pick a Punch is used to create the fancy ends of my sentiment. The Just Jade layer is embossed with the Subtle 3D TIEF for a bit of texture. A Star Designer Element is added to the top of the tree. We all need a star or an angel there!

I till felt it was missing something, so I added a Just Jade Gingham bow made using the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack.

On the inside, I added some left over strips and used the Banner Triple Punch on the ends.

Colour Creations Showcase – Merry Merlot – Dove of Hope with Blended Background

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 26 – Merry Merlot

The Dove of Hope stamp set and coordinating Detailed Dove dies make gorgeous Christmas cards without too much effort.

Craft with Kate Colour Combination Merry Merlot Just Jade Whisper White

The card base is Merry Merlot, embossed with the Dainty Diamonds 3D TIEF. The Whisper White layer, I scored the border using the Simply Scored, at 1/8″ intervals. This is another great way to create borders without adding extra bulk to your card.

I used a Decorative Mask (oops, sorry this one is retired) but you can use any mask with Blending Brushes. Once I removed the mask, I found it a bit “in your face”, so I lightly brushed over it again to soften the look… much better! The sentiment is stamped in Merry Merlot before I added the dove.

Some Elegant Faceted Gems were added at the very end for a little bling.

Christmas Arrange a Wreath on a fancy brick wall

First I want to make sure you are aware of the Merry & Bright Online Extravaganza tomorrow – for 1 day only on 24th November – save 10% off most of the Annual catalogue products. Click here to view the PDF of all the details of what is on sale, including bundles where you are already saving 10%!

The Arrange a Wreath Bundle is such a wonderful product and you can create so much with it. Today, I have a Christmas Wreath on a fancy brick wall, a background of the In Good Taste DSP.

The Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay Wreath are such gorgeous colours together and the Real Red flowers just pop!

The sentiment is stamped on a die cut from the Tasteful Labels dies. It was a bit too big, so I moved the die and cut again to make it shorter! I love how we can do this to make our sentiments fit perfectly.

The little So Saffron pearl embellishments are a retired product, but they were the perfect colour for my project. You could also colour the plain Basic Pearls with an alcohol Blends Marker to colour it any tone you like!

Christmas, Designer/Patterned/Specialty Papers (DSP), Handmade Cards, Markers for Colouring, Stampin' Up!

Curvy Christmas in Classic Christmas Colours

Here is a quick background using the new Classic Christmas DSP and the Curvy dies & Curvy Christmas stamp set.

The card base is Thick Whisper White and the DSP added to the top. The sentiment is stamped in Shaded Spruce to match, using the Stamparatus for that perfect image.

I just love this little reindeer – stamped in Memento ink and coloured with alcohol Blends Markers and some Wink of Stella added to his nose and bow. I fussy cut him out and popped him up on dimensionals.

This card is so simple and you could whip up loads of these in time for Christmas if you haven’t started your cards yet!

Colour Creations Showcase – Melon Mambo No-line Watercolour Technique

AWHT Colour Creations ShowcaseEach week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 25 – Melon Mambo

For tonight’s card, I wanted to revisit the no-line watercolour technique, where you stamp the image (2nd generation) in Sahara Sand ink onto Watercolour paper.

This is definitely a technique that takes a lot of practice (for me anyway!) and you need to take your time to allow the colour to dry before adding more for a deeper effect. I used the Water Painters (without filling the barrel with water). I just have a glass of water next to me so the brush doesn’t get too wet as I work. I take the ink from the lid of the inkpad and apply with a light colour over the entire bloom, before going back over it in small sections, allowing to dry between layers.

From a distance, the poppy looks pretty good and I’m fairly happy with the outcome. I haven’t added a sentiment as yet, that will come when I figure out who this card will go to, hence why the image is not centred in the die cut frame. I will add the sentiment to the left later on!

The Scripty Embossing Folder gave my card a more old-worldly feel, as does the Scalloped Lace Trim. The die cut is popped up on dimensionals.

On the inside, I stamped the poppies across the bottom using the same technique. The sentiment is stamped in Sahara Sand ink 3 times using the Stamparatus, to get a nice dark colour.
