Terracotta Tile Wreath

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 43 – Terracotta Tile

Terracotta Tile is from the 2019-2021 In Color collection. You may be wondering why we have skipped forward to ‘T’, but by the time we get to Terracotta Tile in the alphabet, it will have already retired and we wanted to give it a well deserved send off!!! We will be back to the ‘S’ colours next week!

I have to admit, this is my least favourite of the retiring InColors, so I don’t think I will miss it and I really struggle using it. So I began wanting to do a wreath card with the Arrange a Wreath Bundle and the faux resin dots I made recently.

I thought the wreath would look lovely on some of the brick patterned paper from the In Good Taste DSP pack. I got out my Blending Brushes and added some Terracotta Tile ink to give it some extra colour. Doesn’t it look amazing?!!

The wreath layers are Garden Green card, Basic White card and Ornate Garden Specialty DSP. The sentiment panel is stamped using the Stamparatus, with the best wishes reinked a couple of times to get that darker tone on the background. I used my paper snips to cut it out.

The wreath & sentiment are added to the card on Mini Dimensionals and a white twine bow added with a glue dot. I finished off with some faux resin dots around the wreath; a little like berries.

Love You Rococo Rose

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 42 – Rococo Rose

Rococo Rose is another one of the InColors which will sadly retire soon when the new Annual catalogue is released and 5 new InColors will be introduced. I really like this soft blush colour and it works beautifully with the colours I’ve used today.

Pierced Blooms Love You card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021

I die cut many of the flowers with the Pierced Blooms dies in the various colours before working out exactly how I was going to put this card together. Once I had all the pieces, I thought it would look pretty cool in a wreath style, but as they are fairly large blooms, I needed to have a larger Thick Basic White square card (12.5cm²).

The flowers are placed on dimensionals and then I went back and added some foliage underneath.

The ‘Love You’ is from the Forever & Always Bundle. I stamped them in Rococo Rose on white card and die cut the ‘love’ with the coordinating die and the ‘You’ I just used paper snips.

You can see I added more of those cute Butterfly Gems and some Wink of Stella to the So Saffron die cuts for a little sparkle.

Rich Razzleberry Perennials

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 41 – Rich Razzleberry

Rich Razzleberry is from the Regals collection and a colour I used to use a lot of, but not so much recently. It was lovely to get it out again and get creative!

Today I went with the Pretty Perennials Bundle. This is my first time using these products and I thought they would look lovely in Rich RazzleberrySeaside SprayMisty Moonlight.

I began randomly stamping the background card in Rich Razzleberry ink for a lovely tone on tone effect. Then I took a 2″ strip of basic white card and used the thick brush from the Water Painters pack and watercoloured the stripes. Once it was dry, I cut it down to 1½” wide and glued it to the card front. The extra strip was glued inside the card!

Next, I stamped the flowers in various sizes and die cut them with the coordinating dies. I sat them on the card to see how I was going to place them. Once I was happy, I glued down some of the smaller ones, with the larger ones slightly layered over the top. The only one I popped up on a dimensional, was the large flower above the sentiment. The six leaves were also embossed in the Subtles TIEF and run through the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

The sentiment was stamped in Misty Moonlight ink on Seaside Spray card and fussy cut with Paper Snips. The happy is popped up on dimensionals. I also coloured the Basic Pearls with my Seaside Spray Dark Blends Marker.

Week 40 – Real Red

Real Red is lovely bright red, but it is not a colour I use a lot of. My first instinct was to stamp and colour a rose, but wanted to try something completely different. I had a sample of this Snail Mail DSP which has Real Red listed as one of the colours. Because I don’t have anything else from this suite, I decided to really focus on the papers. One sheet has lots of larger snails, so I cut one out with my paper snips.

My card base is Real Red with a Basic White layer. The patterned paper is one sheet, but I cut a third off and flipped it over for a bit of contrast and I quite like the sentiments in the speech bubbles. The Ornate Borders die is used to add some interest between the two pieces of DSP.

Once again I used a Square Vellum Doilie to soften the bold patterned paper.

Are you wondering where I got the mushroom? I made it myself using the Ice Cream Builder Punch for the hood (Real Red & Blushing Bride), a 1/8″ circle punch for the dots and cut the white stem by hand!

The ‘happy birthday’ sentiment is stamped in Real Red and I used my electric cutting machine to cut it out or you can use paper snips to fussy cut.

Monthly Creative Showcase: Sketch challenge

AWHT Creative Showcase

For tonight’s showcase, we were given a card sketch as a starting point for inspiration. This is something that I really struggle with, but really wanted to challenge myself to have a go at.

Sketch Challenge

This card is for my Father-in-law birthday so I started with the Well Suited DSP. I chose Pacific Point as my card base and then layered two patterns of the DSP, joining them under the Seaside Spray Scallop Ribbon Trim. The stitched triangles are embossed using the Scripty 3D, Tasteful Textile 3D & Hammered Metal 3D Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. The Happy Birthday (Sweet Ice Cream stamp set) is stamped in Night of Navy ink, fussy cut with Paper Snips then added with Dimensionals.

Thanks to Ros Davidson, I had a go at making some of my own Faux Resin Dots. Using a standard hole punch, I punched some cardstock, placed them onto the Silicone Mat and added some Fine Tip Glue piled up on top. Allow them to dry fully (a few hours), before adding them to your card with a glue dot.

On the inside, I added an offcut of the DSP and stamped the sentiments with Night of Navy ink and the stars with Pacific Point ink.

Pierced Blooms on Painted Texture

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 39 – Purple Posy

Purple Posy is lovely soft purple and one of the InColors which will sadly retire in the next few months when 5 new InColors will be introduced.

I cannot stop using these Pierced Blooms dies. They are just fabulous!

My card base is Purple Posy with a layer of Highland Heather then a Basic White piece, dry embossed with the Painted Texture 3D TIEF.

Vine Design Thinking of You card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021.

I love this colour combination: Rococo Rose – Purple Posy – So Saffron – Soft Sea Foam

The sentiment is stamped in Highland Heather ink and cut out with an electronic cutting machine if you have one, or simply fussy cut with Paper Snips. The sentiment and the flowers are popped up on dimensionals and everything else is glued with Multipurpose Glue.

How cute are those little Butterfly Gems – they come in all the 2019-2021 InColors.

On the inside I added another flower die cut and strips of card like on the front of the card!

Icypoles are a favourite in my house!

Today’s card is very simple to create, as the background DSP does all the work for you! This is the reverse side of one of the sheets in the Ice Cream Corner 12″ x 12″ patterned paper pack.

Who doesn’t love an icypole on a warm day?!!! Well it’s a long weekend in Melbourne this weekend and the weather is warming up again, so I’m sure my kids will be wanting some icypoles to cool down.

Sweet Ice Cream card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Auaralia 2021

The icypoles are stamped in Mango Melody and Magenta Madness and the stick is Crumb Cake ink. Once I stamped both the icypoles, I fussy cut them and adhered them with dimensionals. The same is done with the sentiment stamped in Bermuda Bay to match the background.

The Square Vellum Doilies add some softness to the bold background so the icypoles stand out more.

Abundance of Butterflies

AWHT Colour Creations Showcase

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Showcase to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 38 – Pumpkin Pie

Pumpkin Pie is one of my least used colours in the Stampin’ Up! range. I haven’t used much of it in my card today, but I actually love how it looks with Misty Moonlight.

I took a piece of the patterned paper from the Dandy Garden 6″ x 6″ DSP pack. I cut the piece to fit my White card base.

Floating & Fluttering Bundle 2021 by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia

I stamped the butterfly image twice in Memento Black ink using the Stamparatus, then die cut them both. Placing them on the card I wanted to add a sentiment through the centre at an angle, so I cut a strip out of the centre of the DSP before gluing the two pieces at either end of the card base.

The butterflies are coloured with Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers; Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody, Misty Moonlight & Granny Apple Green. They are add with dimensionals to the card.

This sentiment from the Quite Curvy stamp set, is stamped in Misty Moonlight ink. I coloured some pearls with the Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends Marker.

Vine Design card with a handy tip for your die cut sentiments

This Vine Design bundle is rather cute and I’m glad I purchased it recently.

I used some of the Paper Blooms DSP (free during Saleabration with qualifying order – ends tonight) as the background. I die cut the leaves in Night of Navy cardstock and stamped 8 of the flowers in Night of Navy ink onto Rococo Rose card, then die cut them out.

Vine Design Thinking of You card by Kate Morgan, Stampin' Up Australia 2021

The sentiment is stamped in Rococo Rose ink and die cut. Can you see that extra embossed edge around the sentiment? I share my handy tip below:

The sentiment and flowers are popped up on dimensionals and placed some retired metallic pearls in the centres of each flower. The Butterfly Gems are super pretty and I had to add a few of them too!
