Heart of Christmas Week 14: Reindeer Days Fun fold card and scrapbook layouts

Heart of Christmas Header 2024 - 1

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

Week 14

Today I feature the the Reindeer Fun bundle and coordinating Reindeer Days DSP (designer paper) in this fun fold design. The two largest circles from the Stylish Shapes dies were used to die cut the circles. The largest one is cut through the card front after the deigner paper was added. The smaller one is a Basic White layer ink blended with Granny Apple Green. The sentiment is stamped in Garden Green ink to bring in the colour from the designer paper.

The layers of the Reindeer are Early Espresso, Pecan Pie, Basic Beige and Festive Glimmer for Rudolph’s nose! The wreath is Granny Apple Green with a Real Red bow and swome Iridescent Adhesive-backed Discs.

Once the Basic White insert is added and decorated with deigner paper, the circle feature can be glued through the card front by adding glue only to the right half of the circle. This then forms the pop out feature.

Using the same suite of products and the additional Reindeer Memories Sticker Sheet, I’ve created four scrapbook pages ready to stick my Christmas Day photos into!

This double page layout also has some piecing to them. I traced around a paper plate with a pencil and used my piecing tool in the Take Your Pick Tool and the Piercing Mat to add the holes.

You can see the piercing more on this layout.

These next two pages use a piece of Country Woods DSP as their base. This one has the tab in the top corner for adding journalling an a large photo. Most of those deer have been fussy cut from the Reindeer Days Designer Paper. While recovering from surgery and not being allowed to do too much, this was a great way to pass the time away productively.

This page I have room for three photos and the top left is for journalling.

Early Espresso: Latte Love Scrapbook page

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 23 – Early Espresso

Today I have something a little different… a 12″ x 12″ scrapbook layout for you!

Stampin’ Up! have recently welcomed the Close to my Heart family to join in recent months and with this some scrapbooking inspiration has returned to the Stampin’ Up! range and I am excited to be reinvigorated to scrapbook memories. This one today is of me and my girlfriends who have caught up most Friday mornings for many years, since our kiddos were in primary school and these A Little Latte Designer Series Papers were the perfect choice!

Latte Love Scrapbook Page for Early Espresso Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2024

  • First, tear the edges of the Pool Party design on both sides and sponge the edges with Pecan Pie ink and adhere it to the Basic White 12″ x 12″ scrapbook page.
  • Layer the coffee bean design onto some Early Espresso cardstock and the heart design onto some Pecan Pie cardstock and lay these on the page to work out where to add the stamping of the coffee stains and splatter [Latte Love stamp set] in Early Espresso & Pecan Pie inks.
  • Once stamped then adhere these DSPs to the page.
  • Layer the 10cm x 10cm photo onto Basic White, Pool Party & Early Espresso cardstock and adhere to the page.
  • Die cut the Peacan Pie circle using the Spotlight on Nature dies and sponge the edges.
  • Die cut the three coffee cups from the Designer Paper and die cut the coffee pot using Pool Party, Early Espresso cardstock and Window Sheet for the glass, and the spoons from Silver Foil, then adhere these to the page.
  • Stamp the sentiment in Versamark ink, add White WOW Embossing powder, tap off the excess and melt it with your Heat Tool.
  • Die cut some leaves from Early Espresso cardstock using the Enduring Beauty dies and die cut the sentiment using the circle die and adhere these to your layout.
  • To finish off I added some Adhesive-backed Swirl Dots and put it into a White Frame to display.

Rainbow Cake without the calories!

Reminder: today is the last day to purchase any last minute Holiday catalogue items as well as the Year End Clearance Close Out for retiring Holiday Catalogue items. The Clearance Rack also has some heavily reduced items, so check them out too!

Who doesn’t love cake?!!! Check out this amazing rainbow cake of glorious colour without the calories!!!

This white card fits into a DL business size envelope, so it is larger than the normal A5 card, but hey, it needed to be to fit all those layers of cake!

I took 7 colours of card stock and cut them into 1/2″ strips and glued them to a piece of scrap card, butting each one up against the other.  Then I cut off the overhanging pieces with scissors.

Once I had the right size, I then added some Snowfall Accents Puff Paint between each layer and used the Heat Tool to puff it up. How cool does it look, so realistic like icing oozing out!!!

Using the Leaf & Classic Label punches I was able to create the candles.

Art with Heart Blog Hop: featuring Embossing Folders

AWHT Enmbossing folder Blog Hop 2019.jpg

Welcome to another Art With Heart Blog Hop. This month we are featuring Stampin’ Up’s! versatile range of Embossing Folders. There are new Embossing Folders available in every Stampin’ Up! catalogue and they are an inexpensive way of adding WOW to your projects. Currently there are 24 different Embossing Folders in the range.

Tonight we plan on showing you lots of ideas on how to use these folders.

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from the talented, Sujatha Harding. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

My first project uses many of the Stampin’ Up! Dynamic Textured Embossing Folders all in the one card. By just using 5 panels embossed with a different folder, gives loads of interest and texture to this card. On top of that, I have added the Heirloom Frames & 3D Embossing Folder!

The Purple Posy ink is now in stock and it is such a glorious colour. I have stamped the daisy four times with the ink before punching with the Medium Daisy Punch. Then I punched a couple of scallop circles from a retired punch and cut into each of the scallops to create petals, using fingers to create the curl. I added a pearl to the centre and a velum leaf underneath. The sentiment (Woven Heirloom stamp) is stamped onto White Vellum and glued behind the frame.

My next project is a 12″ x 12″ scrapbook page using the Pigment Sprinkles; the perfect product for this particular page. My 10 year old had so much fun at the recent Colour Explosion Fun Run held at her school. Look at that smile, it says it all!

The pigment Sprinkles can be quite messy to use and you need the smallest amount to create vibrant backgrounds. I sprinkled all the different colours onto the page and then used the Spritzer to add water and spread the colour.

Here is a close up of the embossed frame. I just had to create a page for her to remember the day in future years to look back on and have fond memories.

For best results when using the Stampin’ Up! 3D Embossing Folders; use the 3D Embossing Folder Plate; it adds a little more oomph to your die sandwich to make those 3D designs pop.

Blog Hop: In Colours 2018-2021

Blog Hop InColour

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring In Colour theme. Check out the new 2019-2021 In Colours and lets not forget the current 2018-2020 In Colours.

If you would like a copy of the 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue, contact any of the girls on the blog hop and we will get in touch with you.

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from the talented, Ros Davidson. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

My first project is a 12″ x 12″ Scrapbook page and each of the daisies [Daisy Lane stamp set] in one of the 10 current In Colours. I kept this page very simple in design as I wanted the colours to shine through. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink, white emboss powder applied and heat set. I cut it in half with scissors, so I had an even balance above and below the photo. The centres of the daisies is silver glimmer paper and I love that sparkle!

Scrapbook page using Stampin Up Daisy Lane by Kate Morgan AWHT Blog Hop In Colours 2019.JPG

My next project is a card using the Wonderful Moments stamp set and the Mosaic Mood DSP and coloured with Stampin’ Blends Markers. I stamped the image in Soft Suede as it’s not as harsh as the black ink which most people stamp images with.

Tip: when using Stampin’ Blends markers (alcohol markers) you can actually stamp your images using any of the Stampin’ Up! Classic inks (water based).

Mosaic Mood & Wonderful Moments for 60th Birthday by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2019

This card uses Terracotta Tile as the base and this colour is also in the Mosaic Mood designer papers. Did you see the scallop shaped DSP on the right? I cut around the scallop edge with Paper Snips for extra detail.

The Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers used are: Mint Macaron, Mango Melody, Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler.

Mosaic Mood & Wonderful Moments for 60th Birthday by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2019.

My last project uses the Bird Ballad stamp set, Woven Threads designer series paper and the Heirloom Frames Dies and 3D Embossing folder. The Frame is the new Seaside Spray card with a strip of Rococo Rose card behind layered with some Very Vanilla Scallop Lace Trim.

Bird Ballad meets Heirloom Woven Threads by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2019 In Colour Blog Hop.JPG

The birds are coloured with Stampin’ Blends Markers and some Wink of Stella applied to the chest of each bird for added sparkle.

Precious memories forever

I love to do memory keeping but I know I need lots more practice at it. I envy so many scrapbooker’s who share their work and I admit, I find it very difficult to create a page I actually love, but I give it my all.

Today I have put this page together, because it is so important to me, to cherish these memories for many years to come. My eldest daughter who has just turned 12, was a finalist in the Primary Schools Speech Contest this month and it was a big deal!

Memory Keeping using Stampin Up Embossing Paste, Delicate Lace Edgelits, Frosted Florals by Kate Morgan, Australia 2018.JPG

She had to go through a couple of processes at her school before being chosen to represent her school in the final. There is no way in the world, I could ever, or even now, get up in front of an audience and deliver a speech in front of that many people!

I love the shine of this Frosted Florals Specialty Designer Series Paper that is printed on Shimmery card stock. It is available in the new Holiday catalogue (5 Sept) and it is stunning! The Embossing Paste, I added some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to also give it a lovely shine.

Here she is with her Certificate of Participation.

Petals & More Memory Keeping

Hello Crafters,

As you know, July 30 – August 30 is a busy month for us and we have 2 birthdays done and another to go just in our immediate family!

Here is the Project Life page I did for my eldest who turned 12 using up some of the retired Petal Passion Memories & More Card Pack. It is is important to me to record these milestones and my kids often get out my albums and browse through them. They love looking back on the memories they have made so far ♥

The Large Number Framelits dies are also retired, but I will forever use them for my scrapbooking and memory keeping albums. Here I have cut them out with Black Glimmer paper.

I will share some more pages soon of my 9 year olds special day!

Do you create a scrapbook album or a form of Memory Keeping for your family to look back on in years to come? Life is too short and I love to have these memories for the future generations.

Memory Keeping Layout with Tea Room Specialty DSP

Dear Crafters,

Today I share a double spread layout of some 12″ x 12″ scrapbook pages using the pretty Tea Room Specialty Designer Series Paper.

This first page fits one photo, 6″ x 4″ on the green mat. I love all the die cut embellishments around the page. The butterfly, flowers and the pretty delicate lace edging above and below where the photo will sit. It all coordinates so well.

Here’s the second page of the double layout with some more pretty embellishments and this one has 3 spaces for 3″ x 3″ photos. I love the celebrate thinlit and the stitched Labels framelit for added embellishments.

AWHT Blog Hop featuring Designer Series Paper

Blog Hop DSP.jpg

Dear Crafters,

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring designer series paper. This month, Stampin’ Up! have a special on designer series paper, buy 3, get 1 free! We hope our blog hop inspires you to get crafting with your designer series paper.

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from Cathy Proctor. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

My first project is a 12″ x 12″ scrapbook page of my eldest daughter when she was only 11 months old. She was already walking and into everything, so we went outside to get some winter sunshine and of course, she went straight for the flowers. So what better paper to use than the Petal Promenade DSP! I’ve paired it up on a base of Fresh Fig with some coloured punch outs of Sahara Sand and Blushing Bride using the Tailored Tag punch. I also added the cat punch and some of the Tea Room copper metallic edged ribbon, tied in a bow. The sentiment is from the Accented Blooms stamp set and the metal rose is from the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit.

Petal Promenade DSP Scrapbook Layout, Memory Keeping by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up, Australia.JPG

My second project is a fancy fold card using the Tropical Escape DSP which coordinates with the Tropical Chic Bundle; Tropical Chic stamp set and Tropical Thinlits dies. It can be found on pages 120-121 of the annual catalogue.

The colours I have used are: Shaded Spruce, Blushing Bride and Soft Sea Foam.

The layering squares framelits added in the diamond formation, adds a new dimension to this fold. As you can see below, the frame is adhered to the left panel of the card and the centre piece is adhered to the right panel and slides underneath to close.

with the card fully open, I have added some stamping to coordinate with the design on the front!

Memory Keeping: the best memories to cherish

Hello Friends,

It is the first week of the school holidays here in Melbourne and I have been in desperate need of updating my memory keeping albums, and I have to say, I am very happy to be up to date again!!! Yay me!!!

But, today I am sharing a page from earlier this year when we took the girls out to the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice-creamery. I booked them in to the kids class “become a Junior Chocolatier” many months ago. It only ran for 1 hour and they got to create their own chocolates. As you can see by the smiles on their faces, they loved it!!! They even got to keep their apron and chefs hat and got a certificate as well.

Memory Keeping by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia 2017 #YVCI #stampinup.JPG

When we got home, I asked them to write on one of the Project Life cards, their own thoughts of their experience and I incorporated this into my page. This way, I not only have their memories written down, but they have done it in their own handwriting!

This is what they said:
