Birthday, Kids Cards, Mini Catalogue and Sale-a-bration (SAB), Stampin' Up!

Happy Birthday, Panda (Sneak peek)

Dear Crafters,

Today I have the cutest little birthday card with some pandas. Aren’t they just adorable? They are one of the Sale-a-bration stamp sets that you can select for FREE with any $90+ order starting 3rd January!

Birthday card using Stampin Ups Party Pandas & Special Celebrations, Saleabration 2018 by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia.

You can see the panda in the middle has a shadow, that is because I stamped it and then cut it out and adhered it to the card on dimensionals for a 3D effect. The same with the balloons!

Here’s the sentiment on the inside of the card with another cute panda.

You know when you finish a card and then you pick up the inkpad to close it and you drop it on your project? Argh, well I did that and I was so annoyed with myself. Have you ever done this too?

See this picture below, it was on the front of the card. I had spent so much time on it, I couldn’t bare to throw it away and start again, so I embellished it. Yep, I drew the string by hand and then added another gold glitter balloon!!! Problem solved. Have another look at the finished card and you would never have known ♥

Sneak peek of Party Pandas

Dear Crafters,

Now that it’s December, being a demonstrator is super cool because we can preorder from the upcoming Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogues. Today I am using the Party Pandas stamp set, one of the many new  Sale-a-bration sets due for release in January and you can earn it for FREE with any $90 order!

I stamped the panda image three times, but on the angles so it looks like he is doing a cartwheel!!! Isn’t it just the cutest?!!! I think this will be super popular during Sale-a-bration this year. It certainly was the first set on my order!

I also stamped one panda image on the inside of the card and on the envelope.

Congratulations: In the City

Hello friends,

Today I take you back to the Annual catalogue and one of the Hostess stamp sets, In the City!

I’ve had this in my collection for a little while and it has never been inked up, so I thought it was time to get it out and give it some love. I think with 60 stamps in the set, it scared me a little, but wow, it was so quick and easy to use. I will definitely be giving it some more love over the coming weeks, so stay tuned!

In the City Stamp Set (60 stamps!)

Stampin Up In the City by Craft with Kate, Independent Demonstrator, Australia Congratulations Handmade Card DIY

I love all the colours in this card; Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party, Sweet Sugarplum, Tempting Turquoise and Wisteria Wonder. It’s like a lolly shop of candy colours!!!

I poked a hole in the tail of the plane and threaded some twine through and secured it at the back of the card before gluing it to the LLT card layer. The twine is adhered to the banner with glue dots.  The sentiment is from the Best Birds stamp set.

Don’t forget to stamp the inside of the card and the envelope to coordinate. It’s so much fun to get this sort of happy mail in the post box, don’t you agree?!

I cased this based on a card by Candy Ford. Thanks for the inspiration!

It’s a Roller Coaster Ride!

Dear Crafters,

Who doesn’t love a bright and colourful kids birthday card?!!! Today I am using the Let the Good Times Roll stamp set, with the coordinating Thrill Ride Pop-up Thinits dies (available in a bundle) from the upcoming Occasions catalogue due for release in January, and check them out!

Here is the front of the card. These little roller coaster cars are so cute with the birthday balloons hanging from them as they travel along the track.

but open the card and this is where the magic happens….

Check out the pop up on the inside!! Isn’t it amazing?! I have to admit, this card did take a bit of time to create, as it was quite fiddly and time consuming, but it is so worth it. You just need to take your time and keep manipulating the pieces to get it right. Make sure you score along the bottom of the roller coaster and along the edges on either side of the tracks with your bone folder, to make it easier too.

This card does fold flat to fit into a C6 envelope and can be mailed!!!

She believed she could… so she did!

Hello Friends,

My project today is a quick and easy card using the This Little Piggy stamp set with the Stampin’ Blends Markers to colour the image.

I have only used the Pink Pirouette Combo pack of blends markers ($15.50) for this card to colour and blend the pig. Such great value! I did add some Wink of Stella to her wings though for a little extra sparkle!!!

Make a Wish Eclipse card using Happy Birthday Gorgeous

Hello Friends,

My project today is a another Eclipse card using the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set!

Eclipse card using Stampin Ups Large Letters dies & Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia 2017 DIY

I love to personalise these cards, but sometimes it is also great to have some birthday cards on hand to use at the last minute, so I made this one for that occasion.

I love this colour combination of Berry Burst, Powder Pink, Sweet Sugarplum and Emerald Envy!

The easiest way I found to get the letters lined up without them moving, was by putting some washi tape across the letters to hold them in place before die cutting. This also made it easier in the class setting to save time!

Eclipse card with Watercolour Wings

Hello Friends,

My project today is a card I made for my niece’s birthday a couple of weeks ago. Her favourite colours are aqua and pinks, so I’ve used Pool Party, Dapper Denim, Powder Pink and Sweet Sugarplum.

I’m not sure if you can see the Wink of Stella on the body of each butterfly, but it is so pretty in real life!

Who loves donuts or cookies?

Hello Friends,

My project today is was inspired by Connie Tumm from the USA.

Personally, when I first saw this card, I saw those yummy, sweet, fancy jam biscuits, but so many others just saw donuts, so I’m happy to go with either!!!!

This is my version of the card and we made this at my last class with a lovely group of ladies who loved it! They had so much fun making them and they are made donuts!!!

Donut birthday card using Stampin Ups Layering Ovals Framelits, Sweet Cupcake stamps & punches by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia 2017.JPG

I personally don’t eat donuts, but I do know they come with chocolate, vanilla & strawberry icing with sprinkles on top, so that is what we made.

The card base is chocolate chip, with Very Vanilla and Pink Pirouette for the other layers. We used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to die cut the oval from the centre of the card.

Some of these punches have retired, but I will always keep them as they come in handy for so many projects just like this! The 3/8″ circle punch was also used for the centre of the each donut!

Birthday, Kids Cards, Masculine, Stampin' Up!

Personalised masculine birthday card using Sweet Cupcake!

Hello Friends,

My project today is for a little boy turning 8! I am terrible with creating cards for boys as I don’t have any boys in my family, especially not at this age anyway! It was Joel’s birthday during the recent school holidays and he had a party at Timezone which my daughter was so excited about. This is the card I finally came up with!

Masculine birthday card using Stampin Ups Large Letters dies & Sweet Cupcake stamp set by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator Australia 2017

The icing on this cupcake was meant to look like choc-mint and the cupcake represents the O in his name. I also embossed the card base with the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF for some extra texture.

I stamped another cupcake and placed it inside the card with the sentiment from the same stamp set, Sweet Cupcake.

The reason I chose to use Lemon List Twist for the card base is because it matched the gift bag that we had put the present in!!!

Favourite Colour Combination for the Art with Heart Team Blog Hop

art-with-heart-team-blog-hop-logo-current

Dear Crafters,

The Art with Heart Team ladies are selecting their favourite colour combinations to share with you tonight. Choosing the right colour scheme can be essential to your design and with Stampin’ Up!s stunning collection, there are 50 colours to choose from. There’s sure to be some combinations that work really well together and you can take inspiration from.

Now sit back and enjoy some time out of your day to cruise through our blog hop and soak up some colour explosion eye candy!

Blog Hop July 2017 - Favourite Colour Combination.jpg

Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links. You may have come to me from my lovely team member, Amie McIlroy.

Now let’s get started!

Today, it’s all about our favourite colour combinations and I certainly do love these colours together. In fact, any colour with black can be so striking!

Favourite Colour Combination Blog Hop for Art with Heart Team by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator, Australia. TAMS Color Builder

I am using the amazing new embossing paste and Pattern Party Decorative Masks.

Favourite Colour Combination using Stampin Ups Sweet Cupcake & Embossing Paste by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator, Australia for Art with Heart Team Blog Hop.

I mixed a small drop of Berry Burst ink into the paste and mixed it around thoroughly. I placed the die of the icing from the cupcake Framelits onto white cardstock. Holding it carefully, I applied a liberal amount of the paste, swirling it around to create the icing. I then used a thinner layer on the black card using the mask to create the background, hence it looks lighter in colour. Set these aside to dry.

I die cut the circles using the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies. The sentiment was using the stamps from the Sweet Cupcake stamp set, but you may notice that the word “wishes” is not there. I thought it looked a bit silly saying Sweet Birthday Wish and needed to make it plural, so I carefully inked up the “ess” from the “you happiness” stamp, placed a piece of paper over the last “s” so it didn’t stamp on my card to create wishes!

Favourite Colour Combination using Stampin Ups Sweet Cupcake & Embossing Paste by Kate Morgan, Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator, Australia for Art with Heart Team Blog Hop 3D.JPG

The cupcake wrapper was stamped in Soft Suede (2nd and 3rd layers stamped off once, then twice) before being die cut and added below the icing. Once the icing was dry, I used paper snips to cut around the whole cupcake and added it to the Berry Burst circle with dimensionals.

I love the touch of gold glimmer to die cut the sentiment and the golf metallic thread added behind the circle layers.

At the very end once all of the layers were stuck down, I went back with the palette knife and added a tiny bit more of the white paste across the raised edges of the icing to add some highlighting and a swirl effect. I just want to eat it!!! At least this cupcake is better for the figure, hehe!
