Super Simple water-coloured Magnolias

Tonight’s card focuses on the Magnolia embossing folder and how to colour the flowers with an AquaPainter and some inkpads. By squashing the inkpad into the lid before opening it, gives you enough of a colour palette to work with. Squeezer the AquaPainter to get a drop or two of water into the ink to get the brush going, swirl it around and then gently add the colour to the flower.

The colour will lighten as it dries. Wait for it to dry completely before gluing the layer to your card. The sentiment (Very Versailles stamp set) is stamped in Soft Seam Foam ink on the same colour card and added with dimensionals.

I added some Wink of Stella to the stamen for a bit of glimmer and extra interest.

Would you give this simple style a go? What colours would you use?

Another milestone with Double figures!

Today we had another milestone in our house; my baby turned 10 and it is truly a bit of a shock to us! How did that happen…. a teenager and a 10 year old in two weeks?!!! LOL

Anyway, she wanted a card with flowers on it, so of course my go to floral stamp set at the moment is Beautiful Friendship, so that it what was used.

Beautiful Friendship – $38.00 (#149252)

Here is her card!

I used the retired Little Numbers dies (I’ll never get rid of them!) and the wishes is from the Well Written Dies. How awesome does this look with the glittery black organdy ribbon and the black border of the Nested Labels dies?!! I added some Wink of Stella to the number 10 too.

My daughter loves aqua, so I thought the Coastal Cabana cardstock was a good choice for the base card. On the inside, I stamped the rose and leaves and then added the gorgeous and perfect sentiment from the same stamp set to the centre. I was really happy with how this card turned out and she loved it!

Magnolia Blooms in Shimmer White

Tonight’s card is using the Magnolia Blooms stamp set which can be found in the Beginner Brochure and it also coordinates with the Magnolia Suite in the Annual catalogue. This card is reasonably simple to create with a couple of layers of Designer paper adhered to a card base of Petal Pink.

The sentiment is stamped in Memento Black ink and a small piece of ribbon added above it. The flower is stamped in Versamark ink on Basic Black card, Shimmer White Emboss Powder added and heat set with the Heat Tool and watch the magic happen!

Can you see that gorgeous Shimmer White Embossing Powder sparkling?!!! Oh my gosh, it looks even better in real life, just stunning. I cut out the image with Paper Snips and popped it up on some dimensionals so it really stands out.

Bird Ballad Pop Up Card

Today I was able to place an order from the upcoming Holiday catalogue. You could too if you join my team and add product from the Holiday catalogue to your starter kit!

The Holiday catalogue will be available to customers on 4 September 2019. But while I wait and stalk AusPost over the next few days, I have some more gorgeous projects to share.

This one is really feminine and flowery. The Bird Ballad DSP is super pretty and creates the perfect, easy background for cards.

I then die cut one of the Stitched Nested Labels dies from the bundle is white card and stamped the Hello sentiment. I stamped the bird and flowers onto scrap white card and coloured them using the Stampin’ Blends Combo packs; Calypso Coral and Crumb Cake. I had to fussy cut them before adhering to the card with dimensionals. Pretty simple, hey?!

But wait til you see the inside…

This is the pop up part of the card on the inside. I saw this technique done by Jennifer MacGuire and thought it was pretty cool, however I wasn’t keen on the way she created the mechanism… I got glue everywhere! I think I will try something similar but alter it next time.

Simple Stamping for the AWHT Blog Hop

Simple Stamping Blog Hop.jpg

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring Simple Stamping, which means our projects feature only paper, stamps and ink. It’s a great way to create a quick and easy card for new stampers or for when you need a card at short notice. These projects highlight how Stampin’ Up! ink, paper and card stock coordinates perfectly.

If you would like a copy of the 2019 – 2020 annual catalogue, contact any of the girls on the blog hop and we will get in touch with you.

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from the lovely, Christina Barnes. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

Card 1: This doesn’t have a lot of stamping, just the one sentiment stamped onto vellum, but it showcases some of the stunning Designer papers Stampin’ Up! produce. Just one piece of DSP cut twice evenly and glued to the card. A very simple way to use stamps, ink & paper!

Simple Stamping using Stampin Up Beautiful Friendship & See a Silhouette DSP by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019.JPG

Card 2: created using the Clear Stamp Block ‘E’ as a stamp, pressing it directly onto the stamp pad. I used Daffodil Delight in the centre and then added Balmy Blue at one end and Pear Pizzazz at the other. Then I spritzed it with some water before stamping the block directly onto the Shimmery White card.

Simple Stamping using Stampin Up Silhouette Scenes & Colourful Seasons by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019

While waiting for this to dry, go ahead and fold your Pear Pizzazz card base in half and add a layer of Basic Black card. Now that the ink has dried, stamp the branch & flowers (Colourful Seasons stamp set) and the girl on the swing and sentiment (Silhouette Scenes stamp set) all in Memento Black ink. Glue this layer to the card.

Don’t you just love swinging on a swing? This was one of my “perfect places to be” when I was a kid!!!

Card 3: uses the gorgeous stamp sets, Beautiful FriendshipI had a piece of paper in the shape of an oval sitting on my desk, so I placed it in the centre of the card and stamped the floral images around it, creating that central focus point.

Simple Stamping using Stampin Up Beautiful Friendship & Kindness & Compassion by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019.

Then I stamped the sentiment using the new Kindness & Compassion stamp set.

Cards 4&5: are some Thank you cards for my daughter’s netball coaches. Their team are called the ‘Roses’, so I thought Beautiful Friendship was the perfect stamp set to use. The images are stamped in Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Purple Posy, Granny Apple Green for the leaves, sentiment and card base.

Simple Stamping using Stampin Up Beautiful Friendship & Love What You Do by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019.JPG

I adore this one with the roses stamped in Mango Melody and Calypso Coral. The other colours are the same as the previous card. The sentiment is from the

It certainly was a challenge to create SIP (stamps, ink & paper) cards, but they can be just as effective! Why don’t you give them a go?!!!

I am using the Daisy Lane suite for my card. The stamp set and mini daisy punch are available as a bundle saving you 10% and there is a special offer below so make sure you keep reading to take advantage of the 11 free tutorials.

Easy Slider Card using Stampin Up Daisy Lane by Kate Morgan, Australia 2019.

I’m using 3 of my favourite new In Colours; Seaside Spray, Purple Posy and Rococo Rose.

The fern image is stamped in Purple Posy on Seaside Spray cardstock. The medium daisy is all Seaside Spray (ink & card) and the smaller daisies are stamped in the 3 colours on white card and fussy cut. The leaf punch is used with vellum for a softer look.

The circle punch was used to punch the top of the card so you can pull the white card up to reveal the message inside.

Of course I had to add some Wink of Stella to the main daisy and over the Smile sentiment.

Water-colouring with Pigment Sprinkles and Daisy Lane

Wow, look at this bright background I’ve created with the new Pigment Sprinkles?!!!

Pigment Sprinkles are watercolour pigment crystals in exclusive Stampin’ Up! colours. Mix them with water to make watercolour backgrounds and washes and use them for other water-colouring techniques.  You get 6 jars – 1 of each of these colours: Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape, Mango Melody, Melon Mambo.

I used the new Fluid 100 water colour paper (amazing quality) and I went it quite liberally with the Stampin’ Spritzer before sprinkling some of the Pigment Sprinkles on top. TIP: make sure you are light handed as a little goes a long, long way…. jut ask me how I know?!!! Then sit back and watch the instant magic happen! You can also spritz a little more water on if you want a more watercolour look (like the daisies).

Daisy Lane stamp set & Pigment Sprinkles, Stampin Up Australia by Kate Morgan 2019

The daisies were also created using this same technique but in 2 colours for each size. Allow the water-colour paper to dry completely before trying to punch them out.  The same with the background piece. I actually used my heat tool to quicken up the drying process as I was a little impatient and wanted to keep going. I stamped the stem in Gorgeous Grape ink so it would stand out on the bright background 😉

Use a bone folder to help curve the petals of the daisies before gluing to the card; just gives a bit more life to them.

How gorgeous are those Perennial Essence Centres? So fussy and they are nice and bright to match perfectly with this card.

Colour Creations: Daisies in Pretty Peacock

AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop

So today I am featuring Pretty Peacock, and what a stunning colour it is. I have used it with Very Vanilla, the 2019-2021 In Colour 6″ x 6″ DSP and the Daisy Lane stamp set. This also coordinates with the Daisy punch and a new Medium Daisy punch is also available now, but of course mine hasn’t arrived yet, so I fussy cut the small daisy images for now!

I used my bone folder to give the petals more dimension, gently curling them up.

Do you notice that gorgeous new In Colour scalloped linen ribbon too? It’s so gorgeous. I also love the font of the sentiment and how cleanly it stamped. WOW! The new Stitched Nested Label dies are a great addition to your die cutting collection.

The stems was stamped on Pretty Peacock cardstock in the same ink and fussy cut.

Are you going to add the Daisy Lane stamp set to your order? You should, it is amazing and can be used for so many different projects.

Colour Creations: Daisy Lane in Rococo Rose

AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop

I’m a little sad that our AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop has finished, but never fear, we are going to continue for the another 5 weeks showcasing the 5 new In Colours!!!

So tonight we are starting with Rococo Rose, and at this stage I think this one is my favourite colour.

I am loving the Daisy Lane stamp set and I have paired it with loads of new product from the Annual catalogue which started today!!! Yay!!!

My card base is Rococo Rose cardstock with a layer of Whisper White embossed with the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder.

The 2019-2021 In Colour Designer Series Paper Stack is awesome for creating cards and here I have used it by cutting it out with the 1-3/4″ circle punch in each of the designs in the 6″ x 6″ paper stack. The Scalloped Linen Thread is super pretty and I just had to add it to my card.

Daisy Lane in Rococo Rose Stampin Up Australia by Kate Morgan.JPG

The daisy is stamped twice in Rococo Rose ink on the same colour cardstock and punched out using the Daisy punch. I joined them together with Tombo Multipurpose glue and used the bone folder to gently curl the petals for a more realistic look. That gorgeous iced rhinestone in the centre is retired unfortunately, but I love it. The stem was stamped in Crumb Cake ink on whisper white card and fussy cut.

Daisy Lane in Rococo Rose Stampin Up Australia by Kate Morgan.

Don’t forget the add some stamped images and/or DSP to the inside of your card!
