Kiss Goodbye to MS

Dear Crafters,

Today I have created a card that is a subject very close to my heart literally, as it is the demon that I live with every day, Multiple Sclerosis. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a condition of the central nervous system, interfering with nerve impulses within the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. It is characterised by sclerosis a Greek word meaning scars. These scars occur within the central nervous system and depending on where they develop, manifest into various symptoms.

I was first diagnosed in 2004, so I have been dealing with it for many years and up until the past couple of years I was doing fine. I will now embark on a change of treatment to monthly infusions, so I depending on how my body takes them, I may not be able to post quite as often as I would like, but please stay with me, as my craft and family is what keeps me going!!!

Today, I have a card which has the slogan “Kiss Goodbye to MS”. An initiative of MS Research Australia, the mission is to accelerate Australian research targeting the prevention, better treatments and a cure for MS.

The minute I saw the stamp set, Sealed with Love, I noticed the lips and knew I had to have this set to create my own cards for MS. It also had the word KISS, which is perfect for my sentiment. The black font I printed from my computer.

And check out my Everyday Hero wonder woman, she just says to me, we can beat this disease and it’s not going to define who we are!

Oh, and check out the lace stamp!!! Yes, because they are photopolymer and are so pliable, you can bend them onto your blocks to create a different look!!!

The sentiment is from the Avant Garden stamp set, which is one of the two Sale-a-bration FREE stamp sets I have used on this card!

I’m not sure if you can see the Wink of Stella on the flowers, but it just adds that extra little shine 😉

Paper Piecing

Dear Crafters,

Today I have created a card using the Paper Piecing Technique, not to be confused with the Paper Piercing Technique!

This technique is quite easy, but you need to like fussy cutting!!!!

I stamped the floral image onto the chosen Designer Series Paper and then fussy cut out the flowers petals with Paper Snips. I did the same for the leaves, but onto a different designer paper.

Stamp the image again (stem) onto your Very Vanilla card and then glue the fussy cut pieces over the top.

I added the cute little ribbon bow, using some of the metallic ribbon that I got for FREE during Saleabration when I placed a $90 order!!!

Paper Piecing with Beautiful You

Today I have another card using the Beautiful You stamp set but I’ve only stamped the top part of the stamp and altered the dress!

I love this Falling in Love Designer Series paper and with this lace pattern, it just reminded me of a gorgeous lacy dress, so I created a larger dress for this image!

I love these colours together, but then again, my favourite colour is blue!

On the left side of the card, I kept the die cut in full, but on the right, I cut out the centre section before adhering it to the card!

Beautiful in Blue

Today I have another card using the Beautiful You stamp set but I’ve added another crafty tool to this one and I think I’ve done okay!!!

I love this Designer Series paper and wanted to see how well it went with this stamp set, and I reckon it goes really well, and check out my stitching… yes, I pulled out the old trusty sewing machine and put in some navy thread and added some sewing to my card!!!

Happy New Year 2017

Happy New Year!!!

Let’s hope 2017 brings us more joy and happiness than 2016 did.

Today I have the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits with the Watercolour Pencils and AquaPainter!

I just added some of the pencils in a row from top to bottom and then swished the AquaPainter from left to right and down the page. So simple and so effective!

Oh, and check out those Black Glimmer Dragonflies!!!

I love these Watercolour Pencils, they make colouring super easy and you can use either the Blender Pen or AquaPainter to blend the colour. I I have used the AquaPainter!

Hula Hoop Girl

Well it is nearly the end of 2016 and in a way, I am glad to see this year over and very much looking forward to a happier and healthier 2017.

Now that Christmas is over, I am now focusing on the brand new products in the Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogues available from 4th January!

Today I have the Beautiful You stamp set. When I first saw this particular image, I just knew she had to have a hula hoop swinging around!

The background was sponged using the Seasonal Decorative Masks which are currently on sale for $7.00. You get 4 masks for that price too. It’s a bargain!!!

To draw the Hula Hoop, I used the inside of the smallest Oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits using a black Sharpie pen!!!

I love these Watercolour Pencils, they make colouring super easy and you can use either the Blender Pen or AquaPainter to blend the colour. I have also added some Wink of Stella to her hat!

Today I share a gift idea that I have been making for Christmas gifts for some crafty people who will appreciate them.

I keep my ribbons on small shelving but I find they sometimes roll off and unroll and then I have ribbons everywhere! You know what I mean, right?!!!

Well, I did a search on YouTube and found this nifty idea by Linda Parker, a UK demonstrator and had to make one or two or three!!!

I have used the new Falling in Love DSP with Blushing Bride cardstock as the base. This DSP will be available on 4th January 2017.

And I love these Stitched Shapes Framelits, they give that little bit of added detail!
