Birthday, feminine, Flowers, Handmade Cards, Stampin' Up!, Washi Tape

Hooray, let’s celebrate

Dear Crafters,

On Monday I shared a card using the Affectionately Yours Designer Series Paper and today I have a card using the Washi Tape from the same suite!

So here is my card!

Affectionately Yours Designer Washi Tape, Confetti Celebration, DIY, #stampinup

And the sentiments are are from a new stamp set, Confetti Celebration that will be available from 1st June in the brand new 2016-2017 Annual catalogue.

What a fun way to use some washi tape. Can you see that middle one? It has copper metallic dots on it. It is super duper pretty and shiny!

Affectionately Yours Designer Washi Tape, Confetti Celebration, DIY, #stampinup

I love how simple this card is to make, by simply using designer washi tape!

I have also added a strip of washi tape to the inside panel of the card.

Roller Skater

Dear Crafters,

Last Sunday my youngest daughter attended a 7th birthday party for a little girl in her grade at school. It was at Caribbean Rollerama, so what better style card to make, than a Roller skate card!

IMG_4641

The sentiment is from the Birthday Blooms stamp set and the Petite Petals flowers are stamped with Rose Red ink onto Rose Red card stock  and cut out with the coordinating Petite Petals punch. Circle punches were used for the wheels and some candy dots added to the centre.

IMG_4643

The laces (white baker’s twine) was added using a needle and thread!

Don’t you think it is just the most appropriate card for a skating party?!!!

Happy Birthday Everyone

Dear Crafters,

Today’s card uses some stamp sets that I wouldn’t coordinate with the framelits, but I think it works!

I have mixed the Gorgeous Grunge & Happy Birthday Everyone stamp sets with a product from the Occasions 2016 catalogue, the Cups & Kettle Framelits dies. These framelits are currently on the Retirement List, so get them before they are gone!

My colour scheme: Bermuda Bay, Wisteria Wonder & Whisper White.

IMG_5588

I stamped the Gorgeous Grunge splatter stamps first in Wisteria Wonder then added the Glitter Washi Tape, before adding the sentiment.

I die cut the cup and the heart and added the cup with dimensionals. The heart has some Wink of Stella painted on it as well!

Don’t forget to decorate the inside of your card too!

IMG_5591

Oh and did you notice the stamp on the back of the envelope, #imbringingbirthdaysback? Well, that is the stamp that Shannon West, SU Demonstrator & trainer from head office in Utah designed. In January, Shannon posted on her FB page that social media had ruined the good old fashioned birthday card, so she wanted to bring birthdays back and went about creating her own hand carved stamp! So many people thought it was such a great idea (as did I), that Stampin’ Up! made one almost identical, just slightly smaller for all of us to purchase. You can add one to your order by clicking here!

Dandelion Magic & last ever Weekly Deals

Dear Crafters,

Today I have a card that I have cased from Pinterest by a lady called Bente Stempelt. I thought it was such a clever idea to create one large dandelion from all those little dandelion stamps!

I love using balloons for birthday cards but this was just too clever an idea using Balloon Celebration stamp set from the Occasions catalogue.

My colour scheme: Hello Honey, Old Olive, Smoky Slate, Soft Sky & Whisper White.

This is a single layer card, so no dimension, but it really doesn’t need it.

IMG_5525

I stamped the clouds first and then the stem before the centre and then the fairy bits (I don’t know their technical term) which we all blow off to make a wish. Didn’t you do that as a kid?!!!

The grass is actually the stamp in the set that is the bunch of strings (upside down and just the ends).  I stamped the sentiment last, but you could really stamp in any order you like!

Don’t forget to decorate the inside of your card too! You can see I have stamped the grass again and some dandelion bits on the inside.

Star Celebration

Dear Crafters,

Today I have a very busy balloon card!

I love using balloons for birthday cards and I’m sure it is the first thing you also reach for when creating projects for birthdays. As I have probably mentioned many times, this was the very first stamp set and Punch Bundle that I added to my cart when we were able to purchase from the Occasions catalogue.

My colour scheme: Watermelon Wonder, Blushing Bride and Whisper White.

IMG_5522

I stamped the balloons first and punched them out and then placed them on the white card to see where to stamp the strings. I added the sentiment and then all the stars, and lots of them!!!! lol

I felt something was missing, so I grabbed my Watermelon Wonder Stampin’ Write Marker and drew by hand, the little dashes around the edge to create a border.

Don’t forget to decorate the inside of your card too! You can see I have stamped the stars again and drawn the border in little dashes on the inside!

IMG_5523

Lastly, I added some rhinestones for a little glimmer!

Birthday Blossoms

Dear Crafters,

Today I go back to our Annual Catalogue and chose something feminine to work with. Here I used the Birthday Blossoms stamp set and the coordinating Pansy punch!

IMG_5564

My colours are Blushing Bride, Whisper White & Pool Party. I stamped the images and then used my Aqua Painter to colour the flowers. Once dry, I added some Wink of Stella to the centres of the flowers. You can see the shine!

The leaves were stamped and fussy cut and the Pansy Punch makes life easier to cut the pansies!!! These were adhered with dimensionals.

Don’t forget to decorate the inside panel of your card and the envelope!

Birthday, Holiday Catalogue, Masculine, Stampin' Up!

Beach Box

Dear Crafters,

Today’s card is a twist on using the Sleigh Ride Edgelits from the last Holiday Catalogue to create a beach scene. Who would have thought!!!!

IMG_4648

How cute are the beach boxes?!!!  You’ll notice that I have trimmed some of them to turn them from a church, into a beach box and coloured them in stripes with a Stampin Write Marker.

I also used Stampin Write Markers for the sand and water, but the sky I sponged with Soft Sky ink. The birds are drawn by hand with a marker.

IMG_4653

I added the sequins last. What do you think of my beachy card?

I originally saw this idea while searching on Pinterest, a card by Tracey May. Thanks Tracey for your inspiration!

Skater Girl

Dear Crafters,

Today I share with you a card I was commissioned to make for a work colleague who requested a card for her daughter who loves skateboarding!

Here’s what I came up with:

IMG_4644

To begin, I stamped the skateboard from the Skating By stamp set and then the female figure from the Hey Girl stamp set.

I coloured the images with Copic markers, but stamped the female image onto some Brights Collection DSP and cut out the dress only and glued it on the stamped image for a pretty patterned dress! What a clever idea, hey!!!

IMG_4646

The balloon was also stamped onto DSP and cut out using the Balloon Bouquet punch, then added with a dimensional.

IMG_4645

Don’t forget to add am image to the inside of the card and coordinate the envelope to match. I thought this cute floral image was perfect.

Birthday, feminine, Handmade Cards, Stampin' Up!, Techniques & Tutorials

Pleat Fold Card

Dear Crafters,

“A party without cakebis just a meeting”, I love that sentiment and I’m sure it will get loads of use.

So today, I’ve tried a new technique which I found on Song of My Heart Stampers website. Although we use slightly different card stock sizes to the USA, I have just altered my design slightly.

I love how bright and cheery this is using Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and that stunning It’s My Party Designer Series Paper.

Its My Party DSP, Party Wishes, Party Punch Pack, Pleat Fold Card, Stampin Up, Occasions 2016

I stamped the cake image onto white card stock and fussy cut it out, then added it to the card with dimensionals. The candle is stamped and then punched out, using the candle from the Party Punch Pack. How cute is it?!!!

Its My Party DSP, Party Wishes, Party Punch Pack, Pleat Fold Card, #StampinUp, Occasions 2016

What do you think of this technique?

Blooming Birthday

Dear Crafters,

In January, I made a similar card to this one, but here I have used some brighter colours.

I started with a black card base and added some Bermuda Bay DSP.

#BalloonCelebration #occasions2016 #stampinup #stampinupaustaalia

Next I stamped the images onto Whisper White card stock using the Memento Black Inkpad. The stems are from the Flower Patch stamp set, as is the sentiment, but those flowers are actually from the Balloon Celebration stamp set. Yes, it is that “wheel” looking stamp that we all looked at and wondered what on earth it goes with in the theme of the balloon celebration stamps.

#BalloonCelebration #occasions2016 #stampinup

The flowers are coloured with the Stampin’ Write Markers, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise. I stamped the dotty circle image onto vellum and punched it out with the 3/4″ circle punch.

I added each vellum circle with a glue dot and then added a large pearl to the centre of each flower.

Check out that gorgeous white jute ribbon behind, adding the perfect amount of texture!!!
