Pecan Pie: Valentine Kisses Diagonal Joy Fold card

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 37 – Pecan Pie

This fun fold card features the Valentine Kisses Bundle and various Designers Series Paper packs.

Take a piece of Pecan Pie card 14.9cm x 21cm and score in half at 10.5cm. Open the card flat and cut the card front from the bottom right corner up to the top of the centre fold to create the card base. The feature piece measures 8.5cm x 25cm, score in half at 12.5cm. Both the White insert and the Love Notes Mix & Match DSP on the feature piece measure 8cm x 12cm. The inside Nature Walk DSP is 10cm x 14.4cm. The triangle Mixed Up Patterns DSP is 9.5cm x 13.4cm, cut on the diagonal (bottom right to top left).

Once you lift up the front feature layer, the left side opens to reveal the Diagonal Joy fold design.

Here’s a close up of the bear holding the heart balloons. It is stamped and coloured the same way as the bear on this card I posted on 1 January using Blends Combo Markers; Ivory & Crumb Cake, then adding fur using Pecan Pie & Early Espresso Watercolor Pencils. The diecut balloons are cut in White card and coloured using Blends Combo Markers; Balmy Blue, Strawberry Slush & Summer Splash.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next week for Petal Pink inspiration.

Peach Pie: Birthday fun fold card

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 36 – Peach Pie

The front of this handmade card has the Lovely & Beautiful Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) with a belly band featuring the Beautiful Butterflies dies and the Nested Essentials dies, with their lovely stitched edge feature.

Remove the belly band and you have an expanding card revealing the occasion!

It is was very hard to photograph the entire length, but I think you can see how it would stand up to display in a zigzag kind of way.

Here it is lying flat so you can see the whole card. It is practically two cards joined together.

There was quite a bit of work involved with all the diecutting of the letters and the background pieces they are adhered to, but it was worth it in the end.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next week for Pecan Pie inspiration.

Misty Moonlight: Peaceful Garden Sympathy card

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 32 – Misty Moonlight

This handmade card features the Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) and some soon to be released in January, Beautifully Celebrated dies.

This card is cased from Kathy Ellerbusch Alt, who showed how to create one in a recent ‘live’ on Facebook using the newly released Product of the Month (POM) True Blue Florals DSP. More details below.

Measurements

Misty Moonlight card base: 21cm x 14.8cm, scored @ 10.5cm
Cloud Cover: 14.3cm x 10cm
Designer Series Paper: 14cm x 6cm  (centre), 14cm x 4.5cm (2, one each side), 14cm x 2cm (inside)
Basic White: 14.3cm x 10cm (inside)

How you can re-create this card

  1. Score and fold the card base.
  2. Adhere the insert inside with the strip of DSP on the right hand side.
  3. Adhere the Cloud Cover layer to the card base.
  4. Adhere the 14cm x 6cm DSP to the centre of the card.
  5. Take the 14cm x 4.5cm DSP and add adhesive to one side only. The left piece has adhesive only on the left and the opposite on the other side.
  6. Fold back the inside corners of the DSP. Starting with the top left, start the crease from the edge of the DSP underneath (centre piece). Once you have this one done, you can repeat on the others to mimic the first one.
  7. Die cut the two labels and the glitter leaves. The centre label I added the smaller label on top and ran through my embossing machine with the Silicone Craft Sheet to get the embossing.
  8. Stamp the sentiment.
  9. Using a blending brush, add ink to the edges of each label.
  10. Adhere the labels together then add Dimensionals on the back and adhere it the centre of the card. I also placed a mini dimensional under each of the DSP corner folds to hold them in place.
  11. Add the embellishments.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for Mossy Meadow inspiration.

Melon Mambo:Extraordinary Flora with a handy scoring tip!

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 31 – Melon Mambo

These handmade cards feature the Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape and coordinating Extraordinary Flora die. The Everyday Arches dies also feature, but I’ll explain how shortly.

The Washi Tape is big, bright, and beautiful! It is 3¼” (8.3cm) wide and features a gorgeous pattern of watercolour florals and botanical images. The design alternates from pink and purple variations of the same pattern. I added the washi tape to some Basic White card then die cut them.

My Thick Basic White card bases have a layer of Melon Mambo added. The next layer is Basic White and I placed it onto my Simply Scored with one of the Everyday Arches dies sitting on top. Carefully holding the die in place, use the smaller tip of the stylis and score the lines to the width of the die.

I adhered this layer to the card then arranged the washi tape die cut pieces, some glued and some on Mini Dimensionals.

The sentiment [Beautiful Butterflies stamp set] on card 1 was stamped on Melon Mambo card in Versamark ink, White Wow emboss powder added and melted with my Heat Tool. The ends were cut using the Three Banner Punch. Card 2s sentiment is from the Banner Sayings stamp set and punched with the Three Banner Punch.

White Baker’s Twine bows and Adhesive-backed Shiny Sequins & Iridescent Pearls were added.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for Misty Moonlight inspiration.

Lost Lagoon: Sunflowers Black Out Embossing Technique

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 30 – Lost Lagoon

This handmade card features the Sunflowers 3D Embossing Folder, Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers and some die sets; Branching Out and Party Alphabet.

After embossing a piece of Basic White cardstock, turn it over and colour the debossed side with your Darling Duckling, Lost Lagoon and Pecan Pie markers. Take the Secret Sea inkpad and gently drag it across the entire surface to create the black out, then sit it aside to dry. Doesn’t it make those flowers pop?!!!

This piece is mounted onto some Brushed Metallic cardstock then onto a Lost Lagoon card base. A label is diecut from Lost Lagoon card using the Branching Out dies and the ‘H’ ‘B’ is diecut from the Floral Delight Designer Series Paper using the Party Alphabet dies. The sentiment is from the new Banner Sayings Bundle, comprising a stamp set and the Three Banner Punch.

On the inside, I added more of the Branching Out cut dies to frame the message panel and added the greenery which is part of the dies pack. These are covered in Wink of Stella so the are glittery!

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for Melon Mambo inspiration.

Lemon Lolly: Christmas Greenery in a fresh colour palette

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 29

This handmade card features the Christmas Greenery stamp set, however it is not necessarily a Christmas card, although it could be sent to someone who may not celebrate Christmas to let them know you are thinking of them at this time of year.  This fresh colour palette is perfect for sending love & joy to someone you care about. My colours this week are Lemon Lolly, Fresh Freesia, Lost Lagoon and Misty Moonlight.

How you can re-create this card

1. Create the base – a Thick Basic White card base, 21cm x 14.9cm, scored @ 10.5cm.

2. Stamp and colour – the images are stamped randomly in a cluster. I find holding the label over the space where you will eventually add it helps in the placement of the stamping.

3. Add the sentiment – one of the Traditional Labels dies in Lemon Lolly cardstock is stamped in Misty Moonlight ink and added on Dimensionals.

5. Finishing touches – some Traditional Sparkling Sequins are dotted around, along with some gold dragonflies and birds. Wink of Stella is splattered for extra sparkle!

Many of us also participate in the Heart of Christmas blog hop that goes live every Monday night, where we showcase Christmas inspiration in the lead up to Christmas. We would love you to join us for our final one this Monday!

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for Lost Lagoon inspiration.

Lemon Lime Twist: Concertina Fun Fold card

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 28 – Lemon Lime Twist

This handmade fun fold card features the Charming Day Bundle. I have paired Lemon Lime Twist with Berry Burst and Night of Navy.

Here is a closeup of the ink blending on that beautiful rose and the dry embossing on the Lemon Lime Twist card with the Beautiful Patterns Embossing Folder.

But here is where the magic happens, as you open the card to reveal this concertina. The gorgeous Floral Charm Designer Series Paper coordinates with the Charming Day stamps, which you can see stamped in the background as a tone on tone look and the floral on the White panel was done with Write Markers, inking directly onto the stamp and onto the card.

The Branching Out dies were used to cut the 2 centre panels for the concertina to slide through.  Connie Stewart, Simply Simple Stamping gave me the idea for this card.

Many of us also participate in the Heart of Christmas blog hop that goes live every Monday night, where we showcase Christmas inspiration in the lead up to Christmas. We would love you to follow us!

Welcome to the Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2025!
I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THESE PROJECTS
I recently attended the online Traditions of Christmas Craft Class led by Stampin’ Up!s designers. Being online via a live stream in the comfort of your own home, makes attending so easy. It is recorded and available straight after via an exclusive Facebook page. You can rewatch it as often as you wish. So many amazing techniques, tips and tricks were shared and variations in using alternative products if you are not keen on the Traditions of Christmas Suite Collection.

Here are the projects:

Card 1 uses some ink blending with a homemade mask, ink splatters and die cuts with a lovely sentiment.

Card 2 is so pretty in Secret Sea and Old Olive with a stamped background

Card 3 is a fun fold using the DSP

as you open this card from under the right side of the feature element

to fully open – check out that gold foil embossed with the Traditional Wreath 3D Embossing Folder!

Project 4 is a 8″ x 8″ home decor piece and here it is hanging on my front door!

I would encourage you to purchase this Craft Class available in the online store. Click here to purchase and view all the details.

Gray Granite: Everday Arches Double Z Fold card

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 26 – Gray Granite

This handmade card features the Everyday Arches dies to create a fun double Z Fold design. I made a similar Christmas themed one on 13 October for our Heart of Christmas blog hop, you can see it here.

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THIS CARD
As you know, I do love a fun fold and I just love these dies, so putting those two things together gives me this design. It probably looks really hard, but in fact, it is fairly easy when you know how!

How you can re-create this card

For the YouTube Tutorial by The Tattered Stamper click here

I have made mine as a masculine card using the Woven Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP) with the following inks: Gray Granite, Mossy Meadow, Misty Moonlight.

The Textured Notes stamp set is used to stamp the images onto the white mechanism, the back of the card (to write the message to the recipient) and the corner of the envelope. I also flicked some Gray Granite Blends Marker over the stamped images to soften all the white space.

The sentiments on the front are from Unbounded Beauty & the one on the back of the card is from Pattern of Friendship. These are all stamped in Misty Moonlight ink.

Many of us also participate in the Heart of Christmas blog hop that goes live every Monday night, where we showcase Christmas inspiration in the lead up to Christmas. We would love you to follow us!

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for Highland Heather inspiration.

Don’t forget about the joining offer during October. It is a huge $175 saving. Click here for all the details.

Welcome to the Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2025!
I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

Week 8: Poinsettia card

This handmade card features Christmas Greenery stamp set, the Traditional Labels stamp set and the Foiled Frames & Labels Ephemera Pack.

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THIS CARD
A very simple card with some stamps, ink & paper!

How you can re-create this card

1. Create the base – a Cherry Cobbler card base, 29.7cm x 10.5cm, scored @ 14.8cm.

2. Stamp – on a Basic White card 11cm x 8cm, stamp the poinsetta image [Christmas Greenery stamp set] around the edges in Cherry Cobbler ink, then the leaves in Old Olive ink. Also stamp these images on the bottom left corner of your envelope. Stamp the sentiment in Secret Sea ink onto a gold label from the Foiled Frames & Labels Ephemera Pack.

3. Layering – a piece of Gold Foil 12cm x 9cm is adhered to the centre of the card base, then the stamped layer.

4. Add the sentiment on Stampin’ Dimensionals to the centre of the card.

5. Finishing touches – some Traditional Sparkling Sequins are added in a triangular placement.
