Blackberry Bliss: Beautiful Butterflies Z Fold card with easy step-by-step measurements

Week 10 – Blackberry Bliss

This handmade Z Fold card features the Beautiful Butterflies dies and the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper (DSP) and it fits into our C6 envelope.

on the inside

How did I make this?

1. Crumb Cake cardstock 21cm x 21cm, score at 5.25cm & 10.5cm.
2. Fold in half then back on itself to create a Z Fold.
3. Open it out flat, place in the trimmer with scorelines horizontal, and cut at 15cm.
4. Take the smaller section and flip it to create the bottom panel. Before adhering it, add the DSP to each end of the card front and some Basic White on the inside panel to write a message.
5. Add DSP to each end of the panel and a small square if Blackberry Bliss card with a stamped and heat embossed sentiment.
6. Die cut butterflies and adhere to the card, along with another sentiment on the front.

Berry Burst: Pop Up Vase card

Week 9 – Berry Burst

This handmade card features the Pretty Florals Bundle and three different Designer Series Paper (DSP) packs!

The Beautiful Bokeh DSP is used to die cut the petals on the Berry Burst flowers seen in the image below. The leaves were die cut from the reverse side of some Thoughtful Journey DSP for instant varied colour.

Open the card and that is where the pop up vase appears, full of Pretty Florals. The mechanism is attached to the card front and slides to pull the vase into its glory and closing the card, slides it flat again.

The ‘vase’ is from the Perennial Lavender DSP. All the leaves here are die cut from the Thoughtful Journey DSP. All the flowers are stamped onto Beautiful Bokeh DSP and die cut then added to the card, some glued, and some on Mini Dimensionals.

Basic Gray: Thankful Garden Fun Fold card

Week 8 – Basic Gray

This handmade card features @stampinupofficial products; Thankful Garden Bundle, Layered Thoughts stamp set, Lovely Garden DSP and some Ephemera packs.

All the images are stamped in Basic Gray ink and coloured using Blending Brushes and the masks with inks; Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Pretty in Pink, Strawberry Slush, Granny Apple Green and the DSP is coloured with Basic Gray in and a Blender Pen!

When the card is open, you have this wonderful scene and gorgeous sentiment on the inside using the Ephemera packs; Foiled Frames & Labels and the Greetings for All Mix & Match. Those small leaves were stamped and coloured the same way as the Designer Paper.

You can see some extra die cut leaves that have some blending on them and some droplets of water slattered on them.

on the back is the writing panel with the large bold sentiment [Layered Thoughts stamp set].

Azure Afternoon: Fun Fold card

Week 6 – Azure Afternoon

This handmade Circle Flip & Pop Out fun fold card features @stampinupofficial products; Celebratory Sips 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP). You may have noticed I also used this fun paper last week too, but this week in totally differrent colours. I love how the Azure Afternoon really pops with this paper. Again, all the images are fussy cut from the DSP.

As you open the card, the circle feature pops into the centre of the card

On the inside this ‘bay window’ style feature is fun, with more patterns of the DSP and another fussy cut drink!

Here you can see the fun fold design from the top. I added some extra DSP in the back behind the fun feature.

Secret Sea: Pop Up Floating Shadow Box card

Week 3 – Secret Sea

I have to say, I am in love this new colour – such a gorgeous rich deep blue and it is even stunning stamped off for a lighter shade. Anyway, I get side-tracked, this handmade card features @stampinupofficial products; Pretty Florals Bundle and the Florals in Bloom Designer Series Paper (DSP).

This patterned paper is so beautiful, I didn’t know which piece to use first, but I selected this one as it has my favourite colours. The flowerrs are stamped in Secret Sea, Petunia Pop (both 1st & 2nd generation) and the stems are watercoloured with Shy Shamrock to get the lighter shade.

But here’s the wow when you open the card!

Here’s the side view where you can really see why it gets its name. I decided to use a more muted pattern paper on the inside to let the feature of this card shine. I stamped the floral image overr the pop up panel in Secret Sea to add more of a soft design element.

That window is die cut using the Nested Essentials dies, as are the layering elements. A strip of Window Sheet holds the sentiment layers in place. More of the same flowers are added here.

Both of the sentiments are from the Simply Said stamp set. Those gorgeous Flat Pearls finish it off nicely with the little Gingham Ribbon bow.

Lisa Curcio has a YouTube Tutorial for this but I have converted it to suit metric measurements.

Front:
Secret Sea (card base): 28cm x 10.5cm
DSP: 10cm x 13cm, cut 3.5cm off the bottom for lower section

Inside:
Basic White: 10cm x 9.5cm
DSP (back): 10cm x 9.5cm
DSP (strip): 10cm x 1.5cm

Pop Up Panel:
Secret Sea: 18cm x 10.5cm
DSP: 7cm x 5.5cm to fit inside the Nested Essentials dies
Basic White: 6cm x 4.5cm to fit inside the Nested Essentials dies
Window Sheet: 10cm x 1.5cm

Envelope Box Card

While all my Stampin’ Up! friends are in Brisbane at the #OnStage2025 3-day event, I was not so fortunate to be able to travel this time, but I will be stalking them all to see their excitement as they receive a copy of the new Annual Catalogue and share new product inspiration and amazing achievements.

Today’s fun fold card uses some new Online Exclusive products, the Lovely Garden Suite Collection. I am using only a couple of these items from the collection, the Lovely Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Thankful Garden stamp set.

This is a very similiar concept to the card in a box that was very popular a few years back.

All the flowers are fussy cut from the Designer paper pack and layered onto the card.

Here is a side view to see the beautiful layering.

Pool Party: Otterly Adorable Fun Reveal card

Week 43 – Pool Party

Here is my project using the Otterly Adorable Designer Series Paper and the Otterly Amazing dies to cut the images out of the papers.

I used the Textured Notes dies to cut the rectangle in the Basic White layer to create a frame with some of the papers behind. Some Riverside Irregular Pearls were added beside the otters.

Open the card and this is where the magic happens. Open it slowly to see the otters swimming in the water attached on Window Sheet strips to a central mechanism.

I got this idea from Susan Campfield and adjusted the measurements to Metric to suit out Australian cardstock. In hindsight, her measurements would have worked anyway. More of the Textured Notes dies are added inside to write your message.

There isn’t any stamping on my project, just patterned paper, coloured card and some dies!!

Petal Pink: Sneak Peek of new product coming in March!

Week 42 – Petal Pink

On the Poppy Parade card base, a layer of Petal Pink sits behind the Specialty Designer Papers. The next two layers are the Textured Notes dies in Petal Pink and Basic White.

Look at that gorgeous Gold Wow Emboss Powder melted on the outline of the feature image. It is coloured using the Thankful Garden Decorative Masks and Blending Brushes with the following inkpads: Petal Pink, Melon Mambo, Poppy Parade, Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green. Die cut with the copordinating die and attach on Dimensionals.

Open the card to find this gorgeous display with more Specialty paper and the word MUM in Gold Foil on each of the 3 popout panels!

On the back of the front panel, I added some Basic White card to write a special message.

It is my mum’s birthday tomorrow and this is the fun fold card I’ved made for her ♥

Misty Moonlight Master the art of ink blending with For the Books Bookmark card

Week 35 – Misty Moonlight

Yesterday was the start of Saleabration and the release of the new 2025 Jan-Apr Mini catalogue and Scrapbook Brochure. To view the PDF of these catalogues, click the images below. Plus new products in the Online Exclusives section of the store!

Today I feature the For the Books bundle in the new 2025 Jan-Apr Mini catalogue with this cool bookmark card; a gift within the card (cased idea from Cards by Juliet).

Some Timeless Plaid DSP is added to the front left panel and the Fun Patterns Embossing Folder (currently on sale in the Last Chance Products) is used on the right panel. The little book is die cut (Misty Moonlight and Basic White) and the little tassels (Basic White & Calypso Coral) are added on some Gold Twisted Thread. The sentiment is stamped onto an Everyday Arches die (new in Online Exclusives).

The bookmark slides out from the hidden panel on the front of the card. I stamped the images first and then used my Light Crumb Cake Blends Marker to draw lines for the shelves.

On the inside the sentiment and images are stamped and then coloured using a Blender Pen.

To use Blender Pens

Stamp an image in Tuxedo Black Memento ink or Jet Black StāzOn ink on Basic White Cardstock. Allow the ink to dry.
Squeeze a Classic Stampin’ Pad in the middle to transfer some ink to the inside of the lid (or you can use Classic Stampin’ Ink Refills).
Pick up some ink with your Blender Pen and colour your image. Add more ink for darker shades.
When changing colours or finishing your project, clean the Blender Pen by simply scribbling on scrap paper until there’s no more colour transferring from the pen.

Artist Tips

Blender Pens may stain, but that won’t affect the results. Reuse them again and again!
Blender Pens give you a watercolour effect, but they don’t saturate the paper like Water Painters can.
Blender Pens give you more colour options than Watercolor Pencils because they can be used with any Classic Stampin’ Ink.
Blender Pens provide a less-intense result than Stampin’ Blends.
Blender Pens were a perfect fit for the books in the For the Books Stamp Set because their fine tips work well with smaller images and details.

The Everyday Arches dies have already become a favourite of mine, so get used to seeing them used heaps! This tree is stamped in Granny Apple Green, Misty Moonlight and Pecan Pie. I’ve wrapped some Daffodil Delight Satin Ribbon around and tied a bow. Some Brushed Brass Butterflies are added for shine.

Week 34 – Melon Mambo

Today I feature a fun fold portrait spanner card. It is simply a portrait folding card and the two sides of the card front are cut at 1.5cm to the centre scoreline. Once decorated, add the sentiment that adheres across the cardfront, but only glued to the two side strips creating the spanner. Scroll on to see how it opens!

I have used the Online Exclusives bundle, Cake Celebrations with the Marbled Elegance Specialty DSP because it is so gorgeous!

To create the cake, I die cut the larger cake piece in Basic White and used the largest Water Painter to pick up some ink from the lid of my Melon Mambo ink pad, creating that brushed look of icing on a cake. The frosting was also die cut from Basic White crd and adhered to the top of the cake, but then I added a thick layer of White Pearlised Enamel Effects and how good does it look?!!! The banner and the cake stand are die cut in Gold Foil for more glamour! These sit on a Basic White circle from the Stylish Shapes dies.

When you open the top layer, you can see how the sentiment is adhered holding the front together.
