Heart of Christmas 10: Easy Christmas cards featuring the Peaceful Garden papers

Welcome to the Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2025!
I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

Week 10

These handmade cards are very easy to replicate and the Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) is so beautiful, we want them to be the focus!

Card 1 – is a top folding card that measures 21cm x 11cm, scored at 10.5cm. Add the card & Designer Paper layers and the circle feature attaches at the top. This is a Cloud Cover Spotlight on Nature die with a Stylish Shapes die circle of the Designer Paper inside. The Traditional Labels die banner is stamped and added on Dimensionals with a Glimmer leaf diecut behind on the right. Some Hues of Blue Flowers are added to finish.

Card 2 – is a side folding card that measures 21cm x 14.8cm, scored at 10.5cm. Add the Secret sea layer [14.6cm x 9cm], the Designer Paper [14.4cm x 5.8cm] and a strip of Glimmer [14.4cm x 2.5cm]. Stamp the sentiment onto Mistry Moonlight card in Versamark ink, add White Emboss Powder and melt with a Heat Tool. Add some White Craft ink refill to an Acrylic Block and add some drops of water using a Water Painter. Make sure the tip isn’t too wet, and gently tap it against a Bone Folder to gently add the splatters. Once dry, diecut the two circles and adhere them together then onto the card. Add a white dove to one side and some embellishments to the other.

Many of us also participate in the Colour Creations Instagram hop that goes live every Wednesday night. We showcase one SU colour each week. We would love you to follow us!

Gray Granite: Everday Arches Double Z Fold card

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 26 – Gray Granite

This handmade card features the Everyday Arches dies to create a fun double Z Fold design. I made a similar Christmas themed one on 13 October for our Heart of Christmas blog hop, you can see it here.

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THIS CARD
As you know, I do love a fun fold and I just love these dies, so putting those two things together gives me this design. It probably looks really hard, but in fact, it is fairly easy when you know how!

How you can re-create this card

For the YouTube Tutorial by The Tattered Stamper click here

I have made mine as a masculine card using the Woven Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP) with the following inks: Gray Granite, Mossy Meadow, Misty Moonlight.

The Textured Notes stamp set is used to stamp the images onto the white mechanism, the back of the card (to write the message to the recipient) and the corner of the envelope. I also flicked some Gray Granite Blends Marker over the stamped images to soften all the white space.

The sentiments on the front are from Unbounded Beauty & the one on the back of the card is from Pattern of Friendship. These are all stamped in Misty Moonlight ink.

Many of us also participate in the Heart of Christmas blog hop that goes live every Monday night, where we showcase Christmas inspiration in the lead up to Christmas. We would love you to follow us!

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for Highland Heather inspiration.

Don’t forget about the joining offer during October. It is a huge $175 saving. Click here for all the details.

Heart of Christmas 9: Branching Out Shaker card

Welcome to the Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2025!
I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

Week 9

This handmade shaker card features the Branching Out dies and the Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP).

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THIS CARD
I was inspired by a card Tami Hewlett created and I had these Gold Shaker Stars in anticipation of making some shaker cards. Seeing Tami’s card gave me great inspiration to make one similar.

How you can re-create this card

1. Create the base – a Crumb Cake card base, 29.7cm x 10.5cm, scored @ 14.8cm.

2. Layering – Some DSP 14.3cm x 10cm has Pecan Pie ink blended around the edges then adhered to the card base. Die cut die #2 (#1 being the smallest) in Basic White card then using a Blending Brush, gently blend Old Olive ink on the lower section. Adhere this to the centre of the card (sits behind the shaker element). To cut the Secret Sea card, place dies #1 and #3 with the smaller inside, and equal distance between them and run through your die cutting machine. Adhere a piece of Window Sheet behind the Secret Sea element. Add Foam Adhesive Strips on the back ensuring it is fully enclosed so no shaker bits will fall out once attached. Carefully place some of the shaker stars onto the white card, remove the backing from the foam strips and carefully place the window element on top.

3. Die Cut Embellishments – die cut some pinecones in Crumb Cake card, pine needles fom the green piece of Seasons of Elegance SDSP and the berries from Basic White card. The stems of the berries are coloured using the Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker. The pinecones have some Pecan Pie ink gently blended. Adhere these pieces, starting with the pine needles, to the top corner of the shaker element. Next the pinecones then the berries.

4. Add the sentiment – one of the Greetings For You Mix & Match Ephemera Pack sentiments is added with a Dimensional behind the right side.

5. Finishing touches – some Traditional Sparkling Sequins and a Gold Striped Mesh Ribbon bow are added.

Many of us also participate in the Colour Creations Instagram hop that goes live every Wednesday night. We showcase one SU colour each week. We would love you to follow us!

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Monday for more Chrismas inspiration.

Granny Apple Green: Sending Sunshine with Sunflowers

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 25 – Granny Apple Green

This handmade card features the Sunflowers 3D Embossing Folder. Being my first time playing with it, I began by simply colouring it with Blends Combo Markers in this bright colour combination!

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THIS CARD
I recently had a friend move away from the city for her country lifestyle and I wanted to send her some sunshine for her new start in country living!

How you can re-create this card

1. Create the base – a Granny Apple Green card base, 21cm x 14.9cm, scored @ 10.5cm.

2. Colour – the embossed card is coloured using Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers: Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lolly, Granny Apple Green, Pecan Pie & Pool Party. Once dry, I went over the sunflowers with the Wink of Stella (it doesn’t photograph well) but I can assure you it is so sparkly in real life!

3. Layering – Wrap a piece of Gold Striped Ribbon around the embossed layer and tie is a bow. Add this layer to the card base.

4. Add the sentiment – one of the Greetings For All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack sentiments is added on Dimensionals.

5. Finishing touches – some Adhesive-backed Dragonflies are added.

Gorgeous Grape: 50th Birthday Card

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 24 – Gorgeous Grape

This special handmade 50th birthday card features the Perennial Lavender DSP and the Eclipse technique.

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THIS CARD
Milestone birthdays are always worth celebrating and this half century one is for my little sister. We celebrated with a special dinner on Saturday night. She loves her garden, so flowers were my go to patterned paper.

How you can re-create this card

1. Create the base – a Secret Sea card base, 21cm x 21cm, scored @ 10.5cm.

2. Stamp – some Secret Sea Cardstock is stamped with Versamark ink, Gold WOW Emboss powder added and melted with the Heat Tool.

3. Layering – The Perennial Lavender DSP layer is 9.5cm x 20cm and the Gorgeous Grape layer is 9.7cm x 20.2cm.  Place the DSP onto the cutting plate of your diecut machine. Place the letters across the centre and diecut them. Glue the DSP to the Gorgeous Grape layer and then adhere them to the card base. Diecut the letters again with Foam Adhesive Sheets. Remove the backing paper and place them into the DSP spaces. Remove the top backing piece from the Foam Adhesive Sheet and add the diecut letters to create the eclipse.

4. Add the sentiment – adhere the sentiment with a dimensional in the centre and a little glue on the T and Y where the sentiment sits.

5. Finishing touches – some Adhesive-backed Heart Sequins & Purple Fine Shimmer Gems are added.

Heart of Christmas 7: Peaceful Garden fun fold and easy design cards

Welcome to the Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2025!
I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

Week 7: A fun fold card and a simple Peace on Earth card

These handmade cards features the Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Peace on Earth Bundle.

Card 1 is a fun fold design using the Everyday Arches dies to create the card base. The white mechanism is formed the same way but adhered in reverse. It’s best to stamp and colour the pieces before adhering them together.

I used the largest Everyday Arches die #1 for the card base, #3 for the two DSP pieces and the white piece for the back of the card, and #5 for the white section on the front.

I used the negative cardstock from the leaf diecut to use as a mask to create the patterns on the white layer, then used a blending brush and Cloud Cover ink to blend the edges and lightly into the centre.

on the back is the space for your handwritten message. These sentiments are from the Traditional Labels stamp set. I followed this tutorial to create this fun fold card.

Card 2 is a more simplified design, but equally as beautiful.

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THIS CARD
A very quick card to put together when you are time poor, using some beautiful patterned paper, some Glimmer, a sentiment and die cuts. You could very easily mass produce this card!

How you can re-create card 2

1. Create the base – a Cloud Cover card base, 21cm x 14.9cm, scored @ 10.5cm.

2. Stamp – the sentiment is stamped in Misty Moonlight ink.

3. Layering – A wide DSP panel, a small strip of Cloud Cover Glimmer paper then some die cut pieces .

4. Finishing touches – the white dove is added on Dimensionals with a small piece of foliage die cut from more Cloud Cover Glimmer, because you can never have enough sparkle!

Garden Green: Christmas Tags & More

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 23 – Garden Green

Today I have some Christmas inspiration with the Christmas Tags & More 6″ x 6″ Mix & Match Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Now that is a mouthful, but rightly so, as there is so much included in this pack, from paper, printed die cuts & tags!

Here are my cards

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THESE CARDS
No inks, no stamps, just beautiful papers and embellishments. You can easily re-create these in no time with these papers and some cardstock and adhesives you already have at home.

How you can re-create these cards

1. Create the base – 21cm x 14.9cm, scored @ 10.5cm and the slimline card is 21cm x 21cm, scorede at 10.5cm

2. LayeringCard 1 – has some Designer paper with a Real Red matt, some Garden Green card with a long piece of Designer paper on top. Two thing Gold Foil strips added either side. Some Christmas Greenery die cuts in Soft Sea Foam and Garden Green with the printed die cut of the red cardinal.
Card 2 – I actually cut 1″ off the side of the card front to have the beautiful strip of DSP showing. The front has some designer paper, but before adhering it, I used a needle and threaded some Linen Thread through the paper and adhered it behind before gluing the paper to the card.  This is tied through the top of one of the printed diecut ornaments, added on Dimensionals.

3. Add the sentiments – the Greetings for You Mix & Match Ephemera Pack with the gold foil sentiments on thick white card and adhesive on the back are the perfect sentiments for all your cards this Christmas.

4. Finishing touches – some Dear Dots, Linen Thread bow (card 2) and Gold Shaker Stars (card 3) have been added. Wink of Stella is added to the bird and all the berries on the designer paper.

Heart of Christmas 6: Three easy cards with no stamping in sight!

Welcome to the Heart of Christmas blog hop for 2025!
I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Monday evening for the AWHT Heart of Christmas Blog Hop showcasing Stampin’ Up! seasonal products.

These handmade cards features my favourite Traditions of Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Greetings for You Mix and Match Ephemera Pack.

Here are my cards

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THESE CARDS
Sharing the beauty of this spectacular paper with the gold foil accents with a predominant white card base.  Which one is your favourite?

How you can re-create these cards

1. Create the base – a Thick White card base, 21cm x 14.9cm, scored @ 10.5cm.

2. Texture – Dry emboss using embossing folders – Card 1 is Traditional Wreath 3D Embossing Folder and Card 3 uses the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder.

3. Layering – Card 1 has a Party Banners die cut on top of the embossed layer. Card 2 has Old Olive cardstock, then a diecut of Basic White Textured Notes die, then some DSP. Card 3 – Basic White then a rectangle frame in Bubble Bath.

4. Fussy cut/die cut – The images on cards 1 & 3 are die cut using the coordinating Christmas Greenery dies. It’s so cool that these work with the stamp set, but also patterns in the DSP! Both of these cards also have extra pieces above that are fussy cut from the partrial images on the edges of the DSP. Don’t waste these, you can also add these to the inside of your card or on the envelope.

5. Add the sentiment – each of the cards has a sentiment from the Greetings for You Mix and Match Ephemera Pack.

6. Finishing touchesTraditional Sparkling Sequins are added to each card for extra sparkle!

Fresh Freesia: Charming Day Birthday

Welcome to the Colour Creations Instahop. You can follow us on Instagram starting  @craftwithkate. Each week we will showcase the Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 22 – Fresh Freesia

This handmade card features the Charming Day stamp set, coordinating dies and Floral Charm Designer Series Paper (DSP).

A LITTLE ‘WHY’ ABOUT THIS CARD
I adore this style of card, however I’m not naturally able to come up with it myself, so I need to thank Kim McGillis who I cased the idea from. I was very happy with the result and adore this colour combination of Fresh Freesia, Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie.

How you can re-create this card

1. Create the base – a Pecan Pie card base, 21cm x 14.5cm, scored @ 10.5cm.

2. Stamp and colour – the card base is stamped with the floral image in Pecan Pie ink for a beautiful tone-on-tone look. Two more images are stamped onto Basic White card and die cut with the coordinating die. These are coloured with Water Painters and inks; Fresh Freesia and Crumb Cake. The sentiment is stamped onto Basic White card and flagged at either end with Paper Snips to create a banner.

3. Layering – Some Fresh Freesia cardstock [12.5cm x 8.5cm] is ruffed up around the edges with Paper Snips and the corners folded slightly for that rustic look. A piece of the patterned paper, the same size is added on the angle. A Basic White die cut [Traditional Labels dies] has some ink blending with Fresh Freesia ink. I used the Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Write Marker to flick some splatter onto the label. Sitting the sentiment in place, I was able to add the floral images so they partially sit behind. I die cut some of the leaves in Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie card and placed them behind the floral images and the label.

4. Add the sentiment – added on Dimensionals and then I used my Pecan Pie Stampin’ Write Marker to splatter some ink across the sentiment and floral images.

5. Finishing touches – a double bow of Linen Thread is added on a Glue Dot and some Starburst Sequins added. On the inside, a simple Basic White insert with a stamped image and this same treatment was added to the envelope!
