Stampin' Up!

Only 4 days left…

Saleabration

Dear Crafters,

I don’t have a project to share with you today, as my computer had a spasm and is being repaired 😔

I guess that is a better result than having to replace the whole thing, so I should be grateful for that. Hopefully we will have it home soon so I can post some more goodies for you all to enjoy.

This is just a reminder though, that if you want to receive any free items from the Saleabration brochure, you only have 4 more days to place your online order via  http://katemorgan.stampinup.net/

I have to admit I am going to miss the Sweet Sorbet DSP, Banner punch & Banner Blast stamp set, Decorative Dots TIEF, bit I did select the MDS Sweet Sorbet ensemble so I can enjoy these papers in my digital scrapbooking!

In mentioning MDS, why not download your free 30 day trial of My Digital Studio. I have spent the past few weeks working on my digital album from 2011 & will share some pages with you when I have full computer access again!

Until next time,

happy stamping,

Love, So Very Grateful (JAI#207 )

Hello Crafters,

At Just Add Ink this week, it’s a sketch challenge!

The minute I saw this challenge I knew what I was going to do, it was just the colours that I wasn’t sure about. Because I wanted to use the ‘love’ die from the expressions thinlits, I thought I should do something with pinks!

So Very Grateful

Some of the items used in this card are from the Sale-a-bration & Occasions Catalogues:

So Very Grateful

To create the banner edges, I placed the pink pirouette card stock into the side of the Decorative Label punch. Isn’t it a cute result?!!!

I didn’t have any ribbon in coordinating colours, so I used the Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon and coloured it by placing it onto the Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Ink pad and let the colour soak in. I used my heat tool to dry it so the ink didn’t run onto the So Saffron tag.

I think the pearls just finish this card off perfectly.

Be sure to have a go at some Challenges, they are great fun to play along and see what others design, so head over to Just Add Ink for more inspiration from the Design Team!

Don’t forget there are only a few days left to place your orders before Sale-a-bration ends. Any orders of $90+ can earn free product from the Sale-a-bration brochure (pgs 11-17). But if you place an order of $180+ you get to choose 2 free products!!! Be sure to check them out now!

Owl Punch Art

Hello Crafters,

Morning everyone and what a wonderful time of year it is, with the cooler mornings and lovely days. I am thankful for the cooler change!

I know I am not the only one who loves owls at the moment, so I wanted to share with you today a gorgeous card I made which was case’d from Deb Raymer of Debzhouse Stamping.

So here it is!

Owl Punch Art

I used the Venetian Romance DSP with the coordinating card stock of Soft Suede, Pistachio Pudding, Tangerine Tango & Crisp Canteloupe.

The background is embossed with the Woodgrain TIEF. The white markings on the beak and eyes was using a White Uniball Signo Gel Pen.

Owl Punch Art

The punches used to make this cute baby owl are:

I added some green feather that I found lying around in my kids craft area and it matched perfectly for my owl!

Soccer Card

Hello Crafters,

This time of year is all about sport and the AFL has begun! But instead of an Aussie rules card, I decided to make an English Football card in the form of Soccer.

So here it is!

IMG_4348

The item I have used to create this is the Hexagon punch in white and black and adhered to a crumb cake card base.

This card was so quick and easy to create I am sure I will be making plenty of these for the boys parties my kids will be invited to.

I added some of the Pacific Point Striped Grosgrain Ribbon for an interest of colour under the Happy Birthday from the Sassy Salutation stamp set.

Gift Ideas

Tea Light Candle Gift Box

Hello Crafters,

Now that the long weekend is far behind us, I need to share with you some little tea light candle gift boxes that I have made in time for Mother’s Day!

I will be doing a workshop on these on Saturday 22 March, 10am. Email me if you would like to come along, or rsvp via my Facebook event!

I got a bit carried away creating these. I started with one and then did a couple of different colours according to the tea lights I had.

I started by stamping the images with the same ink as the card stock (tone on tone). I used So Very Grateful Stamp Set (Wood or Clear) which is in the Occasions Catalogue. Isn’t it just so pretty?!

Tea Light Candle Gift Box

I used my Big Shot machine to die cut the Chalk Talk framelits on the pink one and then found it easier to use the Decorative Label punch on the other two. Using a punch saves so much time and you can whip these up in no time.

The card stock colours used here are Tangerine Tango, Strawberry Slush & Wisteria Wonder. Come along to my workshop and you will see just how easy these are to make for yourself. You will have loads of gifts to give away once you try this!!!

Here is a close up!

Kids Cards

Circle Treat Cups

Hello Crafters,

What a wonderful time for a long weekend, to be able to have an extra day to create, and to celebrate I want to share with you an awesome idea for kids cards using the Circle Treat Cups and fill with some tic tacs!

Who wouldn’t love receiving this card with a special treat inside?!! I know many a kid who would love this.

Treat Cup

My inspiration for this card, when driving to work and seeing the hot air balloons up above the Melbourne skyline. They look so peaceful, tranquil, colourful and so I filled this balloon with fruity tic tacs!!!! What kid doesn’t love tic tacs? I know my two girls certainly do!!!

Two in One Challenge!

Hello Crafters,

Today I share a card that I have submitted for two card challenges, the first at Just Add Ink ~ just add a sunburst, and secondly at Pals Paper Arts ~ colour challenge (PPA194).

It’s Friday and the long weekend is about to begin, but my time off started yesterday (lucky me!) so I wanted to put some time aside today to enter some challenges and it just happened that these two challenges I was able to combine.

I began with an A5 size card base, measured the middle of either end and slid the card into the Scallop Tag Topper Punch, then trimmed off the excess. From the left side I scored at 3-1/4″ and folded in. Then decorate.

Sunburst PPA194

I have used the colour scheme from the colour challenge and at first, I wondered how it would turn out. Not colours I would normally think to combine, but I was pleasantly surprised.

The embossing folder was the only non SU item I used.

As you may have noticed by past blog posts, I have loved playing with the Scallop Tag Topper punch, as it is so versatile. You do not have to just keep it for making tags, but so many other things!!! See some of my other posts using this punch to make boxes, treat boxes, card in a box, chocolate treats, and more! The Scallop Tag Topper punch is available in the Occasions Catalogue, click here to view it online.

Here it is open. I stamped the Simply Stars stamp set on the inside for a bit of interest as well as on some card stock and cut out for the front of the card. These were adhered with Stampin’ dimensionals.

Tied together with a piece of Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon.

Here is a close up of the embossed background and the stars showing the 3D effect created using Stampin’ Up Dimensionals and the gorgeous large rhinestone gives it that little sparkle!

Sunburst
