World Chocolate Day!

Dear Crafters,

Today is World Chocolate Day and what better way to celebrate than with a card in its honour!!!

I LOVE chocolate, no I mean I REALLY LOVE and this card is probably going to stay in my stash as I really love it also!!!

There is a lot of work in this card, in that there are lots of little pieces to cut and glue together. You will need some patience for this one if you are to make it!

The black card base is A5 (21cm x 14.8cm) scored in the centre at 10.5cm.

Sweet Sugarplum layer is 10cm x 14.3cm (sponge the edges)

Black layer is 9cm x 13.3cm

12 x Chocolate pieces (chocolate chip cardstock) are 2cm x 2.5cm (sponge edges) & top layer is 1.5cm x 2cm (sponge edges then embossed with Floral Affection Embossing folder). Glue each piece down with Tombo Multipurpose glue.

Make sure you do sponge the edges of all the cardstock as it gives it the depth needed to make it look real. Yes, it is a lot of work but how cool is it though?

Cut a piece of DSP to 11cm x 8cm. At each side I folded it over and glued to the back so the block actually looks wrapped.On the right side it is cut at 6cm up to the left side to get that angle. Before gluing it down, add some aluminium foil.

How beautiful is this colour combination too? I love the Sweet Sugarplum, Chocolate Chip and Black together.

I even added another piece of chocolate to the bottom right inside of the card and the envelope (although I didn’t take photos of these, oops!)

Happy 7th Birthday Nicola!

Dear Crafters,

Today I have another project using the brand new Foxy Friends Bundle and the Large Number Framelits. Sorry for the reflection, it has been quite gloomy here in Melbourne and very difficult to photograph!

This card was made for a gorgeous little girls 7th birthday party that we attended on Saturday.

I started by applying some of the A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper to the background of the card and then a grass was added. I cut a strip of cucumber crush card and used the fringe scissors to create this.

I stamped the cat & punched the pieces out with the Fox builder punch. The stump and the mushrooms were stamped and fussy cut.

Can you see the Stampin’ Write Marker lines on the Banner and the 7? How did I draw that line so evenly around them, you ask? Well, when I die cut the images, before I took them out of the die, I traced that line around the inside of the die and did small dots, then I removed the card from the metal dies. Clever hey?!!!!!

Dear Crafters,

Today I have another Shaker card using lots of new products from the Annual Catalogue. This one has more of a masculine feel to it, using the gorgeous Dapper Denim and Emerald Envy In Colours.

The base card I stamped first with the little lights at the top and then the stars all over the card, leaving a blank space where the easel is to go. The easel is stamped and then I die cut the centre using the Layered Square framelits and then fussy cut the easel.

The sentiment is from the new Thoughtful Banners stamp set and the coordinating Dual Banner punch.

The bits inside the shaker are created using the new Sprinkles punch. The new foam adhesive strips make creating shaker cards so much easier, be sure to get some in your next order.

And check out that gorgeous ruched ribbon. Can you see the Wink of Stella on the little stars?! You know me, even though it’s a masculine card, a little sparkle on the stars was a must! lol

Today’s project I absolutely love but I am sad that the Greeting Thinlits and the Hello stamp set are no longer available. However, you could still create this card using different sentiments.

The card base is Wild Wasabi, with the same colour as the next layer, only 5mm shorter. This layer has sponged edges with Wild Wasabi ink. I also punched the Extra Large oval punch and sponged the edges also.

I had some printed vellum left over (retired) so I stamped the Birthday Girl image onto it and glued it to the back of the wild wasabi layer. I added the Bow Paper Clip Embellishment.

The next step was die cutting all the leaves, flowers & hello sentiment and adding them to the card with Tombo adhesive and dimensionals.

Painter’s Palette Shaker Card

Today I share some more new products from the upcoming 2016-2017 Annual catalogue which goes live on 1st June!

This is the new Painter’s Palette stamp set in a shaker card.

The sentiment is coloured using the Wink of Stella directly into some Emerald Envy ink and applied directly to the sentiment. This ink is one of the new In Colours, isn’t it pretty?

The easel is stamped in Sweet Sugarplum ink (another of the new In Colours) and the Layered Square Framelits was used to cut out the inside to create the shaker card. I have used some retired in colour sequins which I thought actually went quite well with these new in colours.

The star image is also stamped in Emerald Envy and the Medium Star punch was used to cut it out before adding it with a dimensional. The shaker card uses another new product of foam adhesive strips which makes it much easier. Be sure to check them out on 1st June!

Rose Wonder White Wash

Today I share a card using the Rose Wonder stamp set and the coordinating Rose Garden thinlits!

This is such a gorgeous stamp set and who doesn’t love roses?

So here is my card!

The technique used to create this card is called the white wash technique. Simply, the image is stamped and embossed with white embossing powder, then a white wash applied to the image with an Aquapainter and then coloured using the Aquapainter and inks. There are many tutorials on YouTube and Pinterest if you would like to have a go!

Once I coloured the image using rose red ink, I added some Wink of Stella ~ how gorgeous and sparkly does that look?!!!! Oh I love some sparkle!!! lol

Hooray, let’s celebrate

On Monday I shared a card using the Affectionately Yours Designer Series Paper and today I have a card using the Washi Tape from the same suite!

So here is my card!

What a fun way to use some washi tape. Can you see that middle one? It has copper metallic dots on it. It is super duper pretty and shiny!

Roller Skater

Dear Crafters,

Last Sunday my youngest daughter attended a 7th birthday party for a little girl in her grade at school. It was at Caribbean Rollerama, so what better style card to make, than a Roller skate card!

The sentiment is from the Birthday Blooms stamp set and the Petite Petals flowers are stamped with Rose Red ink onto Rose Red card stock and cut out with the coordinating Petite Petals punch. Circle punches were used for the wheels and some candy dots added to the centre.

The laces (white baker’s twine) was added using a needle and thread!

Don’t you think it is just the most appropriate card for a skating party?!!!

Happy Birthday Everyone

Dear Crafters,

Today’s card uses some stamp sets that I wouldn’t coordinate with the framelits, but I think it works!

I have mixed the Gorgeous Grunge & Happy Birthday Everyone stamp sets with a product from the Occasions 2016 catalogue, the Cups & Kettle Framelits dies. These framelits are currently on the Retirement List, so get them before they are gone!

My colour scheme: Bermuda Bay, Wisteria Wonder & Whisper White.

I stamped the Gorgeous Grunge splatter stamps first in Wisteria Wonder then added the Glitter Washi Tape, before adding the sentiment.

I die cut the cup and the heart and added the cup with dimensionals. The heart has some Wink of Stella painted on it as well!

Don’t forget to decorate the inside of your card too!

Oh and did you notice the stamp on the back of the envelope, #imbringingbirthdaysback? Well, that is the stamp that Shannon West, SU Demonstrator & trainer from head office in Utah designed. In January, Shannon posted on her FB page that social media had ruined the good old fashioned birthday card, so she wanted to bring birthdays back and went about creating her own hand carved stamp! So many people thought it was such a great idea (as did I), that Stampin’ Up! made one almost identical, just slightly smaller for all of us to purchase. Dandelion Magic & last ever Weekly Deals

Dear Crafters,

Today I have a card that I have cased from Pinterest by a lady called Bente Stempelt. I thought it was such a clever idea to create one large dandelion from all those little dandelion stamps!

I love using balloons for birthday cards but this was just too clever an idea using Balloon Celebration stamp set from the Occasions catalogue.

My colour scheme: Hello Honey, Old Olive, Smoky Slate, Soft Sky & Whisper White.

This is a single layer card, so no dimension, but it really doesn’t need it.

I stamped the clouds first and then the stem before the centre and then the fairy bits (I don’t know their technical term) which we all blow off to make a wish. Didn’t you do that as a kid?!!!

The grass is actually the stamp in the set that is the bunch of strings (upside down and just the ends). I stamped the sentiment last, but you could really stamp in any order you like!

Don’t forget to decorate the inside of your card too! You can see I have stamped the grass again and some dandelion bits on the inside.
