Storybook Friends and Storybook Moments DSP

The Storybook Moments Collection caught my eye immediately when browsing through the new 2025 Jan-Apr Mini catalogue. It has all my favourite Beatrix Potter inspired characters, including Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddleduck, etc. These images are pop out diecuts which are part of the DSP pack! Here’s what is included in this collection:

164681

This cute little mouse sits on a Bubble Bath frame [Storybook Friends dies] with some text stamped it in Basic Beige ink using the Elements of Text stamp set. The Perennial Postage dies cut out the white layer which sits on a Bubble Bath matt. The flowers and leaves are from the Country Flowers dies.

Bubble Bath: Angled Slide & Lock Card

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 14 – Bubble Bath

Today I feature the Charming Duck Pond and Lily Pond Lane Designer Papers in this fun Slide and Lock card.

I just love these gorgeous doubled sided designer papers and this card uses only one sheet, as the reverse side is the second pattern!

Angled Slide & Lock card with Charming Duck Pond and Lily Pond Lane DSP for Bubble Bath Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024 closed

The circles are from the Spotlight on Nature dies and the lock channel is a die from the Something Fancy dies. The Charming Duck Pond dies created the duck and lillies. These were all cut in Basic White cardstock and coloured using Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers; Bubble Bath & Granny Apple Green.

Some Adhesive-backed Dappled Dots were added last, being careful not to interfer with the slide & lock mechanism.

The feature circle slides across to the left to open the card, such a great design.

The stamped hello on the inside is a larger stamp, but I only inked up the ‘hello’ for the inside of my card. The offcut piece from the front design didn’t go to waste by placing it along the bottom of the white insert.

This card could be used for many occasions; new baby, birthday, thinking of you, just about anything!

I was inspired by Lisa Curcio, but changed up my measurements to be suited to Metric measurements.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for inspiration using Cajun Craze.

Please enjoy the wonderful inspiration of our next team member, Rosa Leyden.

Azure Afternoon: Spotlight in Nature Watercolour & Baby Duckling card

2024-25 blog header

I’m thrilled you are here to join us each Wednesday evening for the AWHT Colour Creations Blog Hop showcasing the full range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 7 – Azure Afternoon

Card 1

Features the Spotlight on Nature stamp set with some beautiful watercolouring.

On a Thick White card base are 2 matt layers of Peach Pie & Azure Afternoon cardstock. The Fluid 100 Watercolour paper is stamped with the floral image with Black Stazon ink .

Watercoloured card with Spotlight on Nature for Azure Afternoon Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

I then masked around the edges with some washi tape, before applying a watercolour wash with Azure Afternoon, Granny Apple Green & Pretty Peacock inks and a Water Painter. This is carefully applied around the floral image. Once this was dry (I used my Heat Tool to quicken the process), before adding some darker splatters and drops of water to carefully lift some of the colour. I carefully removed the washi tape.

Watercoloured card with Spotlight on Nature for Azure Afternoon Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024.

The image is coloured with Peach Pie ink for the flowers, and the leaves and stems I used Granny Apple Green & Pretty Peacock by mixing them on a clear acrylic block. The sentiment is stamped and fussy cut and added on Mini Dimensionals and one of the Brushed Brass Butterflies added.

The inside of the card and the envelope were decorated the same, by adding a masked circle of Azure Afternoon ink applied with a Blending Brush and then the beautiful butterfly image was stamped.

Card 2

Features the Charming Duckpond Bundle for a sweet baby card. A piece of the Country Woods DSP was cut to the card front size and die cut with the largest die. Behind this I added 2 more patterns from the same DSP pack, but I used a Blending Brush to add Azure Afternoon ink to the bottom section to reflect water.

Baby card with Charming Duckpond for Azure Afternoon Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

The mother duck & ducklings are stamped in Gray Granite and diecut before using my Wink of Stella to add a very light tone of Azure Afternoon ink & Peach Pie for the beak and feet. The duck in the water is just diecut and coloured. The reeds are cut from more of the same DSP and coloured the same way as the water.

The sentiment is stamped using the Unbounded Love stamp set and diecut using the Spotlight on Nature dies.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you join me next Wednesday for inspiration using Balmy Blue.

Please enjoy the wonderful inspiration of our next team member, Di Furniss.

CCBH: Night of Navy

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 35 – Night of Navy

How are you enjoying Saleabration? It is such a generous way for Stampin’ Up! to give free product with qualifying orders to customers and demonstrators. Have you placed an order and what was your favourite SAB item?

Today I feature the Little Dreamers Bundle.  I started off with masking the images and adding some blending, but I changed my mind and decided to just add diecuts. The panel with the blending is Crumb Cake card, which helped make the night sky darker. I used Night of Navy at the top and Pretty Peacock below.  Then I took some white ink refill and placed it onto my glass mat and using a Water Painter, added some water and tapped it across the card. Some of the larger splats I needed to dab dry with a tissue.

Little Dreamers Baby Card for Night of Navy Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

I just love this little calf sitting on some clouds under a night sky. I added this panel to a Basic White card matt then onto a Night of Navy card base. The moon and stars are diecut using the Silver & Gold Adhesive-backed Glimmer paper.

On the inside, I added some ink around the edges with what was left on my Blending Brushes.  A simple sentiment and shooting star were stamped in Night of Navy ink.

My second card is a fancy fold design. I’m not sure what it is called, maybe a Gatefold Pop Out card? I am using the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper and the Countryside Corners dies.

Country Inn Fancy Fold Card for Night of Navy Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024

To open the card, you simply push both sides of the card backwards and they will then pop out from behind the centre diecut feature.  To close the card, fold each of the sides in behind the diecut feature. I just love the patterned papers in this pack and I love how this showcases them perfectly. The embossed white panels use the coordinating  Countryside Blossoms Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Country Inn Fancy Fold Card for Night of Navy Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024 open

The sentiment is from the Throughout the Year stamp set and the foliage diecuts are from the Grove dies. Some Boho Blue 2023-2025 In Color Dots were added around the sentiment. The sentiment diecut panel is added on Dimensionals to the centre panel of the card. I adore this design and can see myself making loads of these with different DSPs.

Sea Turtle with Babywipe Technique and a Baby card using Little Dreamers Bundle

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 15 – Cajun Craze

Today I am using a newly purchased stamp set, Sea Turtle, and using the Babywipe Technique and some water colouring. After being inspired by Andrea Sargent at our recent 35yr event, she demonstrated her water colouring technique, I was really keen to have another go!

Cajun Craze Blog Hop

I started with the Fluid 100 Watercolor paper and applied a layer of water using my wider Water Painter. Picking up some Coastal Cabana ink I dabbed it onto the water and let it spread. I repeated this process with the Pretty Peacock and Blueberry Bushel inks. As the colours blended together beautifully, I used the Heat Tool to dry it and move some of colours in the process. I took the Water Painter again, picked up some Pretty Peacock ink and tapped it on my fingers to add some splotches, then set it aside to dry.

The next step was to fold two babywipes and place them on a paper plate. Adding some ink refill drops in the four colours to create my own ‘inkpad’. Press the tutle stamps onto the babywipes then onto some Basic White card. Just look at the gorgeous colours you get!

These were fussy cut using Paper Snips. Once I had 3 little tutrles, I placed them onto my Versamark inkpad to cover them entirely, then into some Clear Emboss Powder and melt it with the Heat Tool.

The starfish are stamped in Cajun Craze ink onto Basic White card. I took a Blending Brush and lightly added some extra colour before using Paper Snips to cut them out. The Gorgeously Made dies were used for the plant life. One I left white and the other added some light  watercolouring.

Sea Turtle Babywipe Technique card by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2023 Cajun Craze colour creations blog hop angle

To assemble, I have a Thick Basic White card base and the watercolour piece is added to the centre using Tear & Tape. I find this nice and strong to keep the paper flat. The frame is slightly smaller than the card base and cut the centre with the Deckled Rectangle die, before running it through my Cut & Emboss Machine in the Timeworn Type 3D TIEF. I glued the plants onto the card first then the frame added with Tear & Tape. The linen thread bow was added on a glue dot and the starfish on a dimensional. The smaller starfish is glued down. Each of the turtles are added on a dimensional. The sentiment is from the Waves of Inspiration stamp set and some Tinsel Gems dotted around.

On the inside, I added an insert with some fish stamped across the bottom, a large turtle and  some more starfish!

Sea Turtle Babywipe Technique card by Kate Morgan Stampin Up Australia 2023 Cajun Craze colour creations blog hop

My next card has a little more Cajun Craze on it than the above card. I recently purchased the Little Dreamers Bundle and thought the lion would be perfect in Cajun Craze!

I stamped the Rays of Light stamp in Crushed Curry ink onto Basic White card. The Regals 6″x6″ DSP was cut to size I wanted to allow for a narrow border on the card base. I used the Deckled Circles dies (new in upcoming Mini catalogue) to cut out a circle. I added Dimensionals to the back of the DSP and cut the Rays of Light down to fit underneath. This raised the top layer as you can see below. I stamped the lion and used the dies to cut it out. I inked the star only in Crushed Curry ink and cut it out too and added it with a dimensional for added height.

Little Dreamers Baby card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2023 Cajun Craze Colour Creations Blog Hop

These images were coloured gently with my Water Painter and inkpads. I also added Wink of Stella to the lions mane & tip of the tail and the star. It’s hard to see in the photo.  The lion is added on dimensionals and I added some extra little stars from the same die set. The White Herringbone Ribbon was added and some Linen Thread tied is a bow.

On the inside a sentiment is stamped and fussy cut to partially sit over a strip of DSP (this is the reverside side of the DSP on the front of the card).

Happy Forest Friends card

2022-23 CCBH Logo

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order.

Week 15 – Crumb Cake

Tonight we focus on the colour, Crumb Cake, a lovely neutral tone that goes with every colour in the Stampin’ Up! range.

I adore this Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Paper, and although it doesn’t have Crumb Cake in it, I felt that it worked well with the bear and trees. My card base is Crumb Cake with a layer of So Saffron card, then another Crumb Cake layer embossed with the Stitched Greenery die.

Happier Than Happy card by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2022

The patterned paper is cut using the Deckled Rectangles die and layered onto So Saffron card. I trimmed a piece of the Natural 1/2″ Woven Ribbon and added it with glue dots across the card. The top panel is added with dimensionals. I die cut three acorns from Crumb Cake card and glued them to the trees. The sentiment (Happier Than Happy Bundle) is stamped onto So Saffron card and die cut with this cute little banner and added with dimensionals. A Linen Thread bow is added with a glue dot.

I strip of the embossed Stitched Greenery Crumb Cake card is added down the right side of the Basic White insert.

I made this card for my youngest daughter’s birthday this Friday – welcoming her TEENAGE-HOOD! Yikes, when did that happen?!!! This suite was the Number 1 item she added to our ‘must have’ list when we first browsed through the Annual catalogue together, so it was appropriate I used it for her 13th birthday card!

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you can join me next week for inspiration using Crushed Curry.

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 20 – Granny Apple Green

Today’s card has a very general, but pretty theme, and could be used for so many different occasions, as there are no sentiments or DSP on it!

My colour combination is Granny Apple Green, Evening Evergreen and Polished Pink. Anyway, enough mumbling on, here is my card!

Count on Me Pierced Blooms for CCBH Granny Apple Green by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021.

The narrow strip at the bottom of the Granny Apple Green Stitched Greenery layer, is some of the ‘darker’ Silver Foil sheet. The bear was stamped in Black Memento ink and coloured using the Crumb Cake & Polished Pink Blends Marker Combo Packs, then fussy cut with Paper Snips.

The Gold Thread wrapped around the card has retired (oops), I was sure it was still available. Anyway, you could use any metallic thread you may have. I added some Wink of Stella to the centres of the larger flowers for more sparkle.

I finished it off with some 2021-2023 In Color Jewels that I adore and almost finished my pack. I might have to add some more to my next order!

Count on Me Pierced Blooms for CCBH Granny Apple Green by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2021 sq

I love how the piercing in the background and the Pierced Blooms die cut images go together so well. This card was inspired by Nikki Spencer who used different flowers and colour combination, but I loved the layout!

CCBH Coastal Cabana – All For Baby card with Decorative Mask background

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 12 – Coastal Cabana

Tonight’s card is using the All for Baby Bundle, which is a recent addition to my supplies. I don’t actually have a lot of baby style stamp sets, but this one is rather cute with the distinctive stamps that create the shading/tone when you stamp the image – how clever is that?!!

All For Baby CCS Coastal Cabana Stampin Up 2021 by Kate Morgan, Australia

The Coastal Cabana card base is covered with the Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks, new in the Annual Catalogue. They are a great way to add patterns with the Blending Brushes and inkpads without using DSP. I also used the same technique on the Basic White card cut with the Stitched So Sweetly die. Although, this time, I left the card in the die and placed the Mask over the top so that it left the gorgeous, crisp, white scallop border. I wrapped around some White 3/8″ (1cm) Glittered Organdy Ribbon and tied it in a bow, before adding the centre panel on dimensionals. The images are stamped in Fresh Fressia and Soft Suede inks, die cut and added on dimensionals. The pegs are die cut from the new Silver Foil 12×12 Specialty Pack and also added on some cut-down dimensionals.

All For Baby CCS Coastal Cabana Stampin Up 2021 by Kate Morgan, Australia closeup

On the inside, I stamped another bodysuit and die cut the little pocket in Coastal Cabana card and added it to the corner with a lovely stamped sentiment.

Sneak Peek of Buffalo Check with Baby Bear & Copper accents

Welcome to another Art With Heart Team Colour Creations weekly Blog Hop. Today we are featuring Crumb Cake!!!

I am using the Baby Bear stamp set with the new Buffalo Check background stamp (available 5 September in the Holiday catalogue). I have only used two colours; Crumb Cake and Copper… can you believe that?!!!

Baby Bear is a photopolymer 3-step stamp and I used it with the Stamparatus to get the darkest colour I could for the 3rd image. The 2nd image is inked a couple of times and the 1st image only once, to get the colour variation. The Buffalo Check background stamp I also did with the Stamparatus to get a nice dark colour, reinking about 7 or 8 times!

Baby Bear & Buffalo Check with Copper for Colour Creations Crumb Cake Challenge by Kae Morgan, Stampin Up Australia.JPG

I used the Versamark inkpad and wiped it along the edges of the checked layer and dipped it in copper embossing powder and heat set. I love how it gives a jagged look and not the perfect layer. I added a copper foil layer using the Layering Squares Scallop framelit before adding the baby bear layer with dimensionals. I love the copper trim bow too. Those metallic brass brads you’ll find on page 198 of the Annual catalogue!

Blog Hop: Casing the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue with Animal Outings

35650140_10216367116633139_6605810454600089600_n

Dear Crafters,

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects CASED from the annual catalogue. If you would like a copy of the 2018 – 2019 annual catalogue, contact any of the girls on the blog hop and we will get in touch with you.

If you’re already hopping, then you just came to me from the lovely, Kathryn Ruddick. If you’re just joining, great! Use the “next” button at the end of my post to hop all the way around. Blog Hops are full circles, so you can start hopping here and then at the end of each post there is a link to the next one. There is also a list of participants at the end in case of any broken links.

Now let’s get started!

At OnStage in April, we got the Animal Outings stamp set in our bags when we arrived and I couldn’t have been more pleased. I think everyone who attended the event were super excited that we had some Aussie animal friend images.

The other great news once we got our hands on the catalogue, was that there are coordinating framelits so we don’t have to fussy cut each of the images, super exciting! So when 1st June came around, those framelits were first on my order.

I have cased my cards from page 26 of the catalogue.

Animal Outings welcome card, Stampin Up by Kate Morgan, Australia, 2018..JPG

The base card is the new Granny Apple Green with the leaves die cut in Shaded Spruce. The banners are from the Nature’s Poem DSP and that small scallop edge is Blackberry Bliss (a returning colour) cut with the Decorative Ribbon Border punch. I coloured the kangaroo & koala with Stampin’ Blends and popped it up on dimensionals.

Animal Outings welcome card, Stampin Up by Kate Morgan, Australia 2018.

See that little Blackberry Bliss heart? It was actually an extra piece left over when the rhino was die cut and I trimmed it slightly. The sentiment was stamped in Soft Suede ink.

Animal Outings Rhino die_2018.jpg

My next card uses the cute giraffe, again coloured with Stampin’ Blends. I’ve used So Saffron as my card base so the giraffe would stand out more. I’ve also used Crumb Cake and Soft Sea Foam.  I love this die cut background.

Animal Outings Giraffe welcome card, Stampin Up by Kate Morgan, Australia, 2018.

The sentiment was stamped on Whisper White and cut out with the Tailored Tag punch. The branches were coloured with a Blender Pen and inkpads and added with Tombo multipurpose glue.

This last card is cased from page 48 of the catalogue (below) and it is my favourite.

I wanted to make it sweet and feminine, so I have used some of the Petal Promenade DSP and a Pearlised Doilie to soften the tone along with lots of different embellishments.

I stamped the rhino image repeatedly across the background of the new colour, Gray Granite, card base in the coordinating ink pad. A banner of the Petal Promenade DSP was glued down over the doilie, then a thin banner of Silver Glimmer paper. The rhino is added with dimensionals.

The Share What You Love Artisan Pearls, White Dotted Tulle and a White Baker’s Twine bow finish it off nicely.
