Birthday Blossoms

Dear Crafters,

Today I go back to our Annual Catalogue and chose something feminine to work with. Here I used the Birthday Blossoms stamp set and the coordinating Pansy punch!

IMG_5564

My colours are Blushing Bride, Whisper White & Pool Party. I stamped the images and then used my Aqua Painter to colour the flowers. Once dry, I added some Wink of Stella to the centres of the flowers. You can see the shine!

The leaves were stamped and fussy cut and the Pansy Punch makes life easier to cut the pansies!!! These were adhered with dimensionals.

Don’t forget to decorate the inside panel of your card and the envelope!

Circle Fancy Fold card

Dear Crafters,

Today I have a circle fold card. I had seen one on a Facebook page that I am a member of, but there were no instructions, so I went about creating my own.

I started by die cutting the large scallop circle framelit from Lost Lagoon card stock and folding it in half. Then I die cut a smaller circle from the 2014-2016 In Colour DSP stack.

I then die cut smaller circles again out of Lost Lagoon and Whisper White and adhered these together and then onto the bottom fold of the card.

The next step was die cutting all the leaves and flowers using the Botanical Builder Framelits with Lost Lagoon, Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride and So Saffron card stock, glued them together. I added some with dimensionals.

Lastly, I added Wink of Stella to the centres of the flowers, I think you can see it in the photos?! I also added some basic pearls to 2 of the smaller flowers.

Isn’t this different? I love trying new things and not just our usual A5 cards all the time, but it still fits into our C6 envelopes….bonus!

And here is another one I made in black, white and the brights!

Skater Girl

Dear Crafters,

Today I share with you a card I was commissioned to make for a work colleague who requested a card for her daughter who loves skateboarding!

Here’s what I came up with:

IMG_4644

To begin, I stamped the skateboard from the Skating By stamp set and then the female figure from the Hey Girl stamp set.

I coloured the images with Copic markers, but stamped the female image onto some Brights Collection DSP and cut out the dress only and glued it on the stamped image for a pretty patterned dress! What a clever idea, hey!!!

IMG_4646

The balloon was also stamped onto DSP and cut out using the Balloon Bouquet punch, then added with a dimensional.

Don’t forget to add am image to the inside of the card and coordinate the envelope to match. I thought this cute floral image was perfect.

Pleat Fold Card

Dear Crafters,

“A party without cakebis just a meeting”, I love that sentiment and I’m sure it will get loads of use.

So today, I’ve tried a new technique which I found on Song of My Heart Stampers website. Although we use slightly different card stock sizes to the USA, I have just altered my design slightly.

I love how bright and cheery this is using Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and that stunning It’s My Party Designer Series Paper.

Its My Party DSP, Party Wishes, Party Punch Pack, Pleat Fold Card, Stampin Up, Occasions 2016

I stamped the cake image onto white card stock and fussy cut it out, then added it to the card with dimensionals. The candle is stamped and then punched out, using the candle from the Party Punch Pack. How cute is it?!!!

What do you think of this technique?

Bloomin’ Heart at JAI

Dear Crafters,

Today I enter a challenge at Just Add Ink. The challenge this week is from Rochelle who has suggested we all “Just Add Something New”.

rosepolkapaper2

With the new Occasions catalogue going live on 5th January, we have plenty of new yummy products to choose from.

Anyway, lets get rolling!

#bloominheartthinlitsdie #loveblossoms #birthdaybouquetdsp #occasions2016 #stampinup #flowers #bowpaperclipsembellishments

I started with a Mint Macaron card base and added a piece of the new Birthday Bouquet DSP. A piece of dotted lace trim in Mint Macaron was added across the centre.

Next I die cut the Bloom’ Heart Framelit from Blushing Bride card stock and glued it to some vellum and then cut around the edges with paper snips. This just gave it a more subtle and frosted background.

#bloominheartthinlitsdie #loveblossoms #birthdaybouquetdsp #occasions2016 #stampinup #flowers #bowpaperclipsembellishments #stampinupaustralia

I stamped the flower images (Bloomin’ Love stamp set) with Blushing Bride ink onto coordinating card stock and die cut them out, before adding with a glue dot and then a pearl into the centre of each one!

The Bow Paper Clip Embellishment was added (how cute are they?!!!)

On the back of the vellum, a dimensional was placed under each of the 5 flowers and added to the card.

I stamped the “celebrate” sentiment (from Beautiful Ride stamp set) in Mint Macaron onto Whisper White card stock and used the banner punch at one end.

Don’t forget to decorate the inside panel along with a coordinating envelope!

Masquerade

Hello Crafters,

Today I enter a challenge at Just Add Ink. The challenge this week is Just Add SequinsJAI#259.

Last night I was thinking about a request I received to make some birthday invitations with a Masquerade theme. Knowing that Stampin’ Up! didn’t have anything along those lines, I got an idea in my head that I was going to have my first attempt at carving my own stamp, a mask!

Well, I started at about 8.30pm once the kids were in bed and by the time I was happy with the outcome, it was almost 1am! Now that is very unusual for me, as I am normally in bed by about 10 on a Saturday night. lol

Anyway, I started with a card base of Crisp Cantaloupe, then a layer of Basic Black.

Masquerade

I stamped the image that I carved from the Undefined Stamp Carving Kit in Versamark Ink and added the Heat & Stick Powder and heat set it with the heat gun. (This was also the first time using the Heat & Stick product!). Then I added some Gold Stampin’ Glitter and heat again to set it and I was so happy with the effect.

Masquerade

I added some sequins with glue dots and stamped the Happy Graduation from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set at the bottom in black (I plan on giving this card to my daughter’s teacher who had her Graduation Ceremony last Thursday).

Masquerade

Be sure to decorate the inside panel of your card and even the envelope, it helps tie it all together!

Masquerade

This envelope I made myself using the Simply Scored and the Diagonal Plate.

I started with an A4 piece of printer paper and put it on the Diagonal Plate, short edge to the top, and scored at 1-5/8”.

Rotate the paper 180o and score at 4”.

Rotate 90o counter-clockwise, and score at 5-1/2”.

Rotate 180o and score at 4-1/8”.

Fold the top left section first, then the bottom right section. Next fold up the bottom left, then the top right. You will notice a small triangle is still showing, but you fold that over the top of the envelope and seal it with the stamp!!!!

Masquerade

I have to say I was very pleased with the outcome of my 1st attempt at carving my own stamp! Look out world, there could be many more to follow, lol.

Please leave a comment below, if you think my card met this challenge.
