Macaron Madness

Dear Crafters,

Well, today I have a very yummy and delicious looking card that I created as part of a challenge with our SU team. Some very worthy demonstrators got to experience the Mediterranean Cruise in May and then extended their time in Paris. This photo of the macaron tower was in a shop window in Paris and wow, who wouldn’t take a photo of it, it’s a beauty! So when Claire returned, she challenged our team to create a project using this photo as inspiration. I immediately knew what I was going to create!!!!

Using the Build a Birthday & Balloon Builder stamp sets, I began by stamping the cake stand, then layering up my Macarons one by one. Then I added a layer of double sided tape and sprinkled over some gold glitter to create the layers in between.

I added the clear Wink of Stella to the centre of each macaron, I’m not sure if you can see that in the photo?

I loved this card so much, I decided to make another one using the bigger stamps from the same Balloon Builder stamp set. Who said you had to make balloons? I love to think outside the box!!!!

This time I used made some Peekaboo Peach, Mint Macaron and Sweet Sugarplum macarons!!!! They look so good I could eat them.

Flowers, Stampin' Up!, Sympathy

Flourish with Sympathy

Dear Crafters,

You know those sad occasions when you need to send someone a sympathy card and you don’t have some already made? Well today I have made one for that very day when unfortunately we need one.

This card is white with Rich Razzleberry and what a stunner colour combination!

I love all the textures in this card, from the Petal Burst embossed background, to the Flourish Framelit to the Pansy and Petite Petals flower.

I also added some of the new Copper Metallic thread behind the Pansy, not sure if you can see it, as it is so fine.

Don’t forget to stamp your envelopes to coordinate too!

World Chocolate Day!

Dear Crafters,

Today is World Chocolate Day and what better way to celebrate than with a card in its honour!!!

I LOVE chocolate, no I mean I REALLY LOVE and this card is probably going to stay in my stash as I really love it also!!!

There is a lot of work in this card, in that there are lots of little pieces to cut and glue together. You will need some patience for this one if you are to make it!

The black card base is A5 (21cm x 14.8cm) scored in the centre at 10.5cm.

Sweet Sugarplum layer is 10cm x 14.3cm (sponge the edges)

Black layer is 9cm x 13.3cm

12 x Chocolate pieces (chocolate chip cardstock) are 2cm x 2.5cm (sponge edges) & top layer is 1.5cm x 2cm (sponge edges then embossed with Floral Affection Embossing folder). Glue each piece down with Tombo Multipurpose glue.

Make sure you do sponge the edges of all the cardstock as it gives it the depth needed to make it look real. Yes, it is a lot of work but how cool is it though?

Cut a piece of DSP to 11cm x 8cm. At each side I folded it over and glued to the back so the block actually looks wrapped.On the right side it is cut at 6cm up to the left side to get that angle. Before gluing it down, add some aluminium foil.

How beautiful is this colour combination too? I love the Sweet Sugarplum, Chocolate Chip and Black together.

I even added another piece of chocolate to the bottom right inside of the card and the envelope (although I didn’t take photos of these, oops!)

Just Add “S”

It has been quite a few months since I have entered any challenges, but today I enter the Just Add Ink challenge, “Just Add S” to your project (#318).

So I have chosen to add a Sunburst!

I love making this style of card, not only does it showcase so many of the wonderful Stampin’ Up! papers, but it can also use up some smaller scraps left over from previous projects.

I also adore this new Baby Bear stamp set. Isn’t it just adorable? I have stamped it with Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede, as it is a two-step stamp, although there are 3 parts to it, hence the 3 colours!

I also wanted to show you some cards with the new Affectionately Yours DSP using the same Sunburst technique. They are so bright and cheery. This time the little cat is created using the Foxy Friends bundle (purchase both items together to save $$).

Designer Jewellery!

Dear Crafters,

You probably looked at the heading and thought “What? Designer Jewellery? I thought this was a paper crafting site”. Well yes, today I have an extra blog post to share with you with some amazing projects that I have made using our Designer Series Papers!!! I love to showcase them in this way, because it is always a talking point when speaking with so many people. I get loads of wonderful comments and I’m always asked where I purchased them from…. well me of course!

Here is this Necklace and Earring Set made with the Floral Boutique DSP!

The jewellery items I purchased on eBay and I used my circle punches to cut the Designer Series Paper. The necklace circle was a little too big, so I did have to trim around the edges with paper snips for it to fit neatly inside the tray! I adhered it with Crystal Effects and then added some more Crystal Effects on top to add the glass circle. The earrings were done the same way.

And here are two more sets made with the Affectionately Yours DSP and the Blooms & Bliss DSP!

Sugarplum Sweetness

Oh my, how I do love this colour combination of Sweet Sugarplum and Very Vanilla!

I have needed to make some thank you cards for some very special people who have been very supportive in helping me out since I had ankle surgery over 4 weeks ago now. I am starting to get up and walk again, but its a huge process. I certainly have a real empathy for those who struggle with any form of disability with the legs. I still have a cast on, but have a special shoe that I wear over the cast to be able to put some weight on it. Anyway, enough of me, lets get back to this stunning card!

Floral Phrases, Detailed Floral Thinlits, #stampinup, Thank you, 2016, #stampinupaustralia, Feminine Handmade Card, DIY, Sweet Sugarplum

I cut a piece of sweet sugarplum card down to fit inside the base card, before using the Detailed Floral Thinlits to die cut the floral images at both ends on the big shot machine using the precision plate. To get all the intricate bits out, I used the new die brush! This was adhered with Tombo Multipurpose Glue.

The sentiment was stamped and punched out with the Word Window punch.

I even stamped a coordinating image on the inside of the card and on the back of the envelope.

Today I use the brand new Detailed Floral thinlits dies, another of my must have on my first annual catalogue order!

I started by die cutting the black card with the thinlits and glued them to the top and bottom of the card, then stamped the sentiment and added the enamel dot.

Using the new 2016-2018 In Color Stampin’ Write Markers, I coloured all the flowers and leaves. Because the borders of the thinlits are black, it doesn’t matter how well you colour in as it doesn’t show on the black card!

Dear Crafters,

Today I have created a card that could be used for many different occasions, as it is so veratile. You have to check out the designer paper too, it is my favourite in this annual catalogue!

I started by adding a piece of designer paper to the card base and cut a strip of Island Indigo to the same length. A piece of white card was cut slightly smaller and then I randomly stamped the floral images and the sentiment before gluing them all together.

I added a strip of crumb cake which was punched with a retired border punch under the decorated strip. I punched the flowers in coordinating cardstock and added rhinestones. I love the watercolour look of these stamps!

The sentiment is also from the same stamp set. I adore this Designer Series Paper, it is certainly my favourite pack in this new annual catalogue. Be sure to visit over the next few weeks as I share many more projects with these papers.

Foxy Friends Shadow Box

Dear Crafters,

Today I have created a Shadow Box with the brand new Foxy Friends Bundle. I had so much fun playing with this bundle that I wanted to incorporate as many of the little animals in one project, but they wouldn’t fit on a card so I made a shadow box to display!

Sorry for the reflection, it is quite difficult to photograph without it and it didn’t look the same not in the frame!

I started with a whisper white background and cut it to size to fit into the 8″ x 8″ frame.

I stamped all the animals, punched them out with the Fox builder punch and some I had to fussy cut. I created an extra head for each one. Once I glued them together, I added the second head piece with a dimensional for that true 3D effect.
