CCBH: Old Olive

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 36 – Old Olive

How are you enjoying the new Mini catalogue?  Have you placed an order and what was your favourite new product?

Today I feature the Planted Paradise stamp set in this very simple card.  I am very limited in my supplies this week, as I cannot get to my cardstock while we don’t have an ensuite. Last week it was totally demolished for a complete rebuild. I’m just glad the 2 days of jack jammering has finished, eek that was loud. Next week the tiling will be done and I’ll be able to access my cardstock again. Anyway enough of my hectic life, back to the card!

The card base is Thick Basic White. The vase is stamped in Pebbled Path ink. The plants are stamped in Old Olive and some also have Pebbled Path ink done with the rock n roll technique, where you ink the image in Old Olive, then roll the stamp on its edges on the Pebbled Path inkpad to get the dual tone, then stamp. Each of these are fussy cut with Paper Snips, some of the plants are cut between the leaves and added behind.

Planted Paradise Rock n Roll Technique card for Old Olive Colour Creations Blog Hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2024.

The circle behind the feature, is created using Blending Brushes and Old Olive ink. I die cut a circle (Stylish Shapes dies) from some scrap card as the template. I also flicked some Pebbled Path ink from my Pebbled Path Stampin’ Write Marker. I added the feature pieces on Stampin’ Dimensionals, a Linen Thread bow added on a Glue Dot and some Rhinestone Jewels added on the vase. I have deliberately left off a sentiment until the time comes to use this card. It could be used for any occasion!

Here you can see the splatter and the dimension of the plant.

The Glass Mat Studio is amazing. As a Demonstrator, I was able purchase this early, as it is on offer during Saleabration as part of your joining kit (worth $106!). It is such a wonderful tool. One feature I use it for is ink blending. I tap my inkpad onto the glass, then use the Blending Brushes to pick the ink up. Once done, simply wipe the ink clean with the Cleaning Cloth provided. Another item included is the white Silicone Mat as shown below. Place your open inkpad on it so it doesn’t slide around using your Blending Brushes, while you hold your mask in place. It is great to mix ink colours for watercolouring. More reasons why I love this tool can be seen here.

Hexagon Gift Box & Card

Happy New Year!

I wish you all a healthy and happy 2024 and hope you had a wonder Christmas with your loved ones.  Saleabration begins in a couple of days (4 January) and today I have a 3D project to share with you using one of the Saleabration items that can be earned FREE with a $90+ product order.

The Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper is so stunning, you will definitely want to get your hands on it! The gorgeous watercoloured images and the magnificent colour palette is irresistable!!!

SAB 2024 Flight & Airy DSP Jewellery Gift Box by Kte Morgan, Stampin Up Australia

The image on the top, is fussy cut from one of the sheets of paper – isn’t it just adorable?!!

I got this idea from StempelPunktchen and you can see her Tutorial on YouTube.

Project 2
This card was inspired by Heather Thomas, A UK Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and 2023 Artisan Team member. Again, I have fussy cut the focal image from the designer paper, but look at that gorgeous Embossed background! The Layered Florals 3D Textured Impressions Embossing Folder run through my embossing machine with Basic White card. Then I used a Small Blending Brush with Bubble Bath ink to lightly colour the larger flowers. The yellow flowers and small leaves are coloured using Stampin’ Blends Markers (Lemon Lolly & Soft Sea Foam). This is then added to some Bubble Bath cardstock, then onto a Thick Basic White card base. The strip across the bottom is from the Bee Mine 12×12 DSP, a Vellum Layering Design piece is die cut using the Stylish Shapes dies. A piece of Bubble Bath card is stamped with the sentiment (Charming Sentiments stamp set) in Boho Blue ink. The image was glued on and I finished off with some Iridescent Pastel Gems.

Lost Lagoon: Fancy Fold with Bee Mine & Fluffiest Friends

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 31 – Lost Lagoon

This week, I have a sneak peek of some new Designer Series Paper to be released in the new January-April Mini Catalogue. I am also featuring product from the Online Exclusives, the Fluffiest Friends Bundle. I love this furry bear with his big red pot of golden honey, it just makes me smile and I had a ball colouring it in. But more about that later.

Bee Mine Fluffiest Friends Fancy Fold card Stampin Up Mini catalogue 2024 by Kate Morgan, Australia Online Exclusives 2023

I realise Lost Lagoon isn’t one of the colours in the Bee Mine Designer Series Paper, but I felt it was a great grounding colour.  I embossed a strip and glued it to the left side and two different patterns of the DSP to the right. The Sweet Sorbet Ribbon & bow was added along with some Adhesive-backed Hearts. The sentiment from the Something Fancy stamp set, was stamped and cut with Paper Snips and added on dimensionals.

The bear is stamped in Smoky Slate ink and coloured using Blends Combo Markers; Gray Granite (D), Crumb Cake (L, D), Daffodil Delight (L, D), Real Red (L, D).  Then using my 35 year old Derwent Pencils, I added the texture of the fur & surrounds. Alisa Tilsner has a paid class on how to do this, but I definitely need a lot more practise.  I die cut it using the Stylish Shapes die.

The front and back panels of the card are our standard A5 size. The card is suspended on the centre mechanism that is scored 3 times to have 4 panels. The Scalloped Contour dies were used to cut the 3 white scalloped panels, the white tag and the scallop border where the white tag fits into.  Some more of the DSP is added to the panels and the 3 jars are cut directly from the patterned paper.

Lemon Lime Twist: Cheerful Daisies Lattice Cards Two Ways

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 30 – Lemon Lime Twist

Today I have two cards for you, both using a lattice technique.

The first one is using the Nested Essentials dies to cut the front of the Thick Very Vanilla card base.  Then I used 1cm strips to create and interweave the pieces from the back of the card. Adding Tear & Tape around the edges of the die cut from behind, helped to hold the strips in place. Once they were done, I cut a piece of the Lemon Lime Twist paper from the Brights 6 x 6 DSP pack, to size to place over the lattice to hide the mess!

Now it’s time to decorate with the Cheerful Daisies stamp set and coordinating dies. The pieces were all cut in Basic White card and coloured with Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers (colours listed below). The top die cut pieces are cut from the Three Colour Glimmer Specialty papers (Highland Heather & Petal Pink).

Decorate the inside with some left over pieces and/or stamped images.

My second card also has a lattice effect, although quite different. I got this idea from Rita Holmes (Ohio USA). I have altered it to metric measurements and used different products. I have used Fresh Freesia and Moody Mauve for this combination.

Highland Heather: Meandering Meadows 3 Panel card & Window card

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 29 – Highland Heather

Today’s card was inspired by Leslie Kilby in the UK. I also just received the gorgeous Meadering Meadows DSP. I thought it was perfect for this card to create the scene. The birds are stamped using the Waves of Inspiration stamp set.

3 Panel card Meandering Meadows DSP Fluffiest Friends by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2023 Highland Heather

The little rabbit on the front is from the Fluffiest Friends Bundle. It is holding a cupcake, but I covered the cupcake up with a little flower that I stamped and fussy cut to glue over the top. I felt it was better suited for this pretty floral scene. She is stamped in Black Memento ink, then Versamark ink using my Stamparatus, then added Clear Emboss Powder and heat set it. I used Watercolor Pencils to colour her and the Blender Pen to soften & spread the colour. The flower was coloured using Highland Heather Blends Combo Markers.

To further decorate the second panel, I just added a dragonfly & bird.

On the third panel, I added some Basic White card and stamped the sentiment, flower and border using the Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set.

Card 2

While I had all these products out, I decided to make another card. Using the Fluffiest Friends Bundle (Online Exclusives), I used the die to cut the ‘window’ from a piece of Highland Heather card, 13.5cm x 9.5cm.  I dry embossed it with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder, then used a blending brush with White Craft ink to add some highlights around the edges.

I cut a piece of the Meandering Meadows DSP and attached it to the card front. The front panel was then added with Stampin’ Dimensionals so it appears like a window. The cat is stamped the same way as the rabbit above. To colour it, I used Blends Combo Markers (Highland Heather, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lime Twist, Crumb Cake, SU300).

On the inside, I added a strip of DSP and a stamped sentiment (Heartfelt Hexagon) on Basic White cardstock.

Week 28 – Gray  Granite

Today’s card uses the Fluffiest Friends Bundle which is new to the Online Exclusives. I am using the cute bear eating his honey!

Fluffiest Friends Card for Gray Granite Colour Creations blog hop by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2023

My Gray Granite card base has a layer of Neutrals DSP which the edges have been sponged with the same colour ink. A layer of Gold Celebrations SDSP which is a metallic printed acetate with gold on one side and silver on the other. I have added the silver side and placed glue dots on the gold dots to adhere it to the DSP so you can’t see them. A Deckled Circles die is used for the Vellum Basics Specialty DSP.  The images are diecut using the coordinating dies and coloured with Stampin’ Blends markers (listed below).

Those little bees I had to fussy cut. Yes, they were tricky, but I felt they were perfect hovering  above the bee hive! The bear was stamped in Memento Black Ink using a stamp positioning tool, then in Versamsark ink before adding Clear Emboss Powder and melting it with my Heat Tool. He’s coloured with Gray Granite Blends Combo markers and the honey is Daffodil Delight and Real Red for the pot. He is diecut with coordinating dies and added on Dimensionals.

Decorate the envelope and the inside with some left over pieces and stamped flowers. This sentiment is from a soon to be released stamp set, Bee My Valentine.

Heart of Christmas Comfort & Joy

HOC Blog Header 2023Each Monday, some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our September-December Mini catalogue and Annual catalogue Christmas products.

Heart of Christmas Week 4

Today I am using product from our upcoming Mini catalogue, available from 6 September!

2023 September - December Mini Catalogue cover.

My card today is cased from the cover of the new Mini catalogue. My card base is Thick Basic White. The next layer is Basic White which has been die cut a few times with a die (Christmas Classics dies). This is adhered to the card base on dimensionals. I took my light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends Marker and flicked some ink using the thick end against the lid.

Joy of Christmas by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2023 Heart of Christmas

I stamped the image 6 times in Black Memento ink so I could use the Blends Markers to colour them once they were die cut.  I arranged 5 of them in  wreath before gluing them down.

Joy of Christmas by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2023 close up Heart of Christmas

The sentiment (Christmas Classics) was fussy cut with Paper Snips and a small piece of the Gold Satin Edged Ribbon (my last bit on the roll) was placed behind and adhered on dimensionals. Some Be Dazzled Specialty paper was used to die cut ome small foliage and I placed them around the sentiment, along with some larger fronds which were coloured using a Blending Brush and Granny Apple Green ink.

To finish, I added some Gold Sequins and added Wink of Stella to the berries.

Sending Love with Blackberry Bliss

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 13 – Blackberry Bliss

Blackberry Bliss is a very dark tone and sometimes I find it hard to know where to start with using it.

This card began with a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolour paper which I had every intension of doing watercolouring, but things changed as I went… I added Bubble Bath and Fresh Freesia ink with my Blending Brushes. Once I had a lovely soft marble type layer, I die cut the largest die from the Two-tone Flora dies, turned it to the reverse side, and gently added some Blackberry Bliss ink with a Blending Brush using the die cut as a stencil.

Masked glittery background Feminine card by Kate Morgan Sttampin Up Australia 2023 Blackberry Bliss Two Tone Flora

I was going to add some flicks of Wink of Stella, but it came out in a gush (oops) so I ended up having to cover the entire piece. How sparkly does it look though? It is even better in real life!!!

Masked glittery background Feminine card by Kate Morgan Sttampin Up Australia 2023 Blackberry Bliss Two Tone Flora sparkle

I die cut the two largest dies from the Radiating Stitches Dies to create the border. This was glued to the Watercolour piece. I added a Lemon Lime Twist matt layer for this to sit on and then onto my Blackberry Bliss card base.

The flowers are stamped on Bubble Bath card with the details in Blackberry Bliss ink. The solid stamps are Fresh Freesia and Bubble Bath inks. The leaves are stamped in Lemon Lime Twist onto Basic White card for a nice pop of colour and to also coordinate with the background layer. These were all die cut with the Two-tone Flora dies. I cut a piece of Gold Satin Edged ribbon in half lengthwise with Paper Snips and adhered it down with Stampin’ Seal before adding the flowers & leaves on Mini Dimensionals.

The sentiment from the Dainty Delight stamp set was partially inked with Versamark ink and stamped onto Blackberry Bliss card. White Emboss Powder was added and melted with my Heat Tool.  This was cut using a die from the Share a Milkshake dies. I felt it was a little bright, so I covered the sentiment with my Dark Bubble Bath Blends Marker. I finished with some Pastel Adhesive-backed Sequins.

On the insde, I added a Basic White layer on a Bubble Bath matt and added another flower and leaves. I did the same on the envelope!

Introducing Bubble Bath

2023-2024 AWH Colour Creations header

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 7 – Bubble Bath

Today brings us to a new core colour to the Subtles Collection, Bubble Bath. This gorgeous pale pink is definitely a favourite of mine!

I wanted to stick to pastel tones today and decided on this combination; Boho Blue, Bubble Bath and Lemon Lolly.  I used the alcohol ink blending technique, by taking the Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers in these colours and scribbled them onto a piece of Vellum. Using some Isocol Rubbing Alcohol, I dripped it gently over the vellum, then took a straw and blew the alcohol around to blend the colours a little and set it aside to dry.

Ink Blending Technique Bubble Bath colour creations blog hop 2023 by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2023

Using the Gorgeous Garden die, I cut a piece of Basic White card. I had a frame piece of Bubble Bath card left over from a previous project, so that was glued over the border to frame the white die cut piece. Now the vellum is dry, I glued it behind for a lovely soft background.  This is now glued to a Bubble Bath card base.

Ink Blending Technique Bubble Bath colour creations blog hop 2023 by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2023 happy birthday

The Nested Essential dies was used to cut a Bubble Bath piece to put my sentiment on. This ‘happy birthday’ from the Wanted to Say dies, was cut from Basic Black card and Silver Foil and popped up on Black Dimensionals. A piece of Bubble Bath Sheer Ribbon is placed behind and the Nested die cut is added on top with Dimensionals. To finish I added a few drops of Metallic Effects Basics (Silver) and set it aside to dry.

Dies: Gorgeous Garden, Nested Essentials, Wanted to Say
Card/Paper: Basic White, Basic Black, Bubble Bath, Vellum, Silver Foil

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining  the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration showcasing our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

Week 6 – Azure Afternoon

Today brings us to a new core colour to the Brights Collection, Azure Afternoon. This is a lovely bright blue and reminds me of the ocean, so that was my inspiration for this card.

Coffee with Friends Azure Afternoon colour creations blog hop 2023 by Kate Morgan, Stampin Up Australia 2023

I began by stamping the lady image on Basic White card in Memento Black ink and colouring it with Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers. I used Paper Snips to cut around the image before running my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker around the cut edges so you don’t see the white of the card. I wanted her sitting on a timber seat/bench, so I cut a piece of Pecan Pie card with a square from the Stylish Shapes die and ran it through my Cut & Emboss machine in the Timber 3D Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

The White layer is coloured using inkpads and my blending brushes; Pecan Pie at the bottom, Balmy Blue, Boho Blue and Azure Afternoon at the top. The top section used the cloud die from the Basic Border Dies and the one below is a die in the Seaside Bay dies. I stamped the birds and the speckles of the sand in Pecan Pie ink. The bird I wanted a lot lighter, so to ink the stamp I used my blending brushes to apply the ink. I also added a little bit of Azure Afternoon to the top of the bird before stamping and cutting it out with the die. The grasses were cut from some white card that I had blended with some Parakeet Party & Azure Afternoon inkpads.

The lady and bird are addedwith Mini Dimensionals. I adhered this layer to a Pecan Pie layer with a nice thin border.

The inside is decorated in the same way, but just the bottom section, leaving plenty of room for a handwritten message.
