Flower Patch

Hello Crafters,

This morning I share with you a card I have made for the mum of a close friend of mine. I always remember her birthday because it is Halloween, but today it is a special birthday. I cannot believe that she is the age she is, so I will just call it a big ‘0’ birthday! Anyway, happy big ‘0’ birthday Mrs Nerra!!!!!

I know how much she loves her garden and her flowers, so I had to use the Flower Patch and coordinating Flower Fair Framelits.

Flower Patch

The base Bermuda Bay and embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder. The banners are framelits and I used them with the Strawberry Slush DSP Stack and some vellum.

I stamped the Flower Patch Stamps with Strawberry Slush and Blushing Bride inks and the leaves are Pistachio Pudding and Bermuda Bay. These are all die cut using the Flower Fair Framelits.

I also added some gold sequins for a bit of bling and the Happy Blooming Birthday sentiment was just perfect for this occasion!

Flower Patch

I added some of the stamps to the bottom corner of the inside of the card. I always decorate the inside as it just ties the whole card together.

Tic Tac Box

Hello Crafters,

This morning I share with you some cute little gift ideas that I am trialling for the kids school teachers for the end of the year!

I got this idea from Pootles in the UK, but wanted to make them bigger with the giant tic tac boxes, so here we go.

Tic Tac Box

The base measures 5-1/4″ x 3-1/2″ and scored on the long edge at 2-1/8″ & 3-1/8″.

The band on the inside is 9-1/2″ x 1″.

The DSP is 1/8″ smaller to decorate.

I stamped the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments Stamp Set in Strawberry Slush on Whisper White card and punched it out with the small oval punch. I also punched 3 flowers from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack in Blushing Bride card.  I sponged the edges of all punched images with Strawberry Slush ink.

Tic Tac Box

I added some rhinestones to the centre of the flowers after adhering them with a glue dot.

I tied a whisper white taffeta bow around the box to hold it closed.

Work of Art

Hello Crafters,

Today I share with you some cards created using the Work of Art Stamp Set. You may be like me and think “what on earth would I use that for?”. Well, let me show you what you can create! Now all of these cards I did in one afternoon and yes, I did have some inspiration from Jenny van Dijk a fellow SU demo.

First of all, I wanted to share a couple of cards that can be used for those who may be struggling with the terrible illnesses of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) or Breast Cancer.

Now for some quick Christmas cards!

Has that given you some inspiration to show just how versatile this stamp set is?!!! Yes, I was amazed once I sat down and actually had a play with it.

Bokeh Hearts

Hello Crafters,

With the gorgeous evenings with daylight savings, I love being outside in the evenings and looking up at the stars! The Bokeh technique sure reminds me of the stars, but in this card, I wanted to try it with hearts instead. I used Strawberry Slush, Pink Pirouette, Wisteria Wonder and Perfect Plum with the Hearts Decorative Mask and sponge daubers.

Hearts Decorative Mask     Hearts Decorative Mask

Then I wanted to try this same technique using circles! Instead of using the Circles Decorative Mask, I took a piece of acetate and punched holes into it with different size Stampin’ Up! circle punches. This card uses Crisp Canteloupe, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party & Marina Mist.

Bokeh Technique

Then I wondered if I could make a Christmas card using this same technique, and guess what? It worked!

I used the Festival of Trees Stamp Set and coordinating punch. This card uses some of the 2014-2016 In Colours of Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey & Mossy Meadow.

Bokeh Festival of Trees

I think this is a stunning technique and I am loving the backgrounds. I know I will definitely be creating more of these!

This background is very cheap and easy to create, why don’t you give it a go too.

Petite Petals

Hello Crafters,

This morning I share with you a card that I made for a 60th Birthday for a lady who loves red and white! I think I have managed to maintain that brief and add some gorgeous flowers and a little bling!

Petite Petals

I stamped the Petite Petals flower image onto the envelope as well as the card! I just love to coordinate the envelopes, it’s a nice touch!

Petite Petals

I added some pearls and gold embossing to the Petite Petals flowers that I stamped on red card and used the coordinating punch.

Feathery Inspiration JAI#236

Hello Crafters,

Melbourne is a very windy day today and hoping to reach 29 degrees, so I will quickly share a card I have made for the Just Add Ink ‘Feathery Inspiration‘ Challenge before heading out to a family BBQ!

I love this colour combination and needed to make a card for my friends birthday next week, and guess what her favourite colours are? Yes, blues and greens!!!

Flower Patch Peacock

I started with a card base of Bermuda Bay and a layer of coordinating DSP. I then stamped the Flower Patch Photopolymer Stamps starting with Pool Party, then Pistachio Pudding then Bermuda Bay. I used the coordinating dies Flower Fair to die cut the images. The body of the peacock is Pacific Point card stock.

Flower Patch Peacock

I used the 1/2″ & 3/8″ circle punches and the heart is from the Owl Builder Punch.

I added some rhinestones to the feathers for some more interest and who doesn’t love a bit of bling?!!!.

I added the sentiment from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set in Pacific Point and used the small oval punch.

Peacock Flower Patch

The inside of the card I stamped an image from the Bordering Blooms stamp set in Memento Black ink then coloured with the coordinating Blendabilities.

Olaf from Frozen

Hello Crafters,

I had an order to make some cards for twin girls who are turning 6 and I knew straight away what I was going to make!

What 6 year old doesn’t love the movie FROZEN?!!!!

So here is Olaf, my favourite character from the movie. He just makes me laugh looking at him!!!!

IMG_5322      Olaf Frozen

I haven’t used any ink pads or stamps to create this funny little guy, but a heap of punches!

The sticks for his arms are cut by hand with paper snips and I added googly eyes and used a Stampin’ Write Marker to draw his eyebrows and hair.

Emily and Grace are obviously the names of the twins and I made their cards in their favourite colours!

Stars in their multitudes

Hello Crafters,

Melbourne has turned on a gorgeous sunny day today, so I will quickly share a card I have made for the Just Add Ink Colour Challenge before heading outside to enjoy the sunshine with my girls!

The challenge this week is a Colour Challenge JAI#235.

I love this colour combination and needed to make a card for my daughter’s friends birthday next weekend, and these colours screamed cupcake to me!

Birthday Cupcake Card

I started with a card base of Pink Pirouette. I then got out the Stars decorative mask and using my sponge daubers and the above colours, I began sponging from lightest to darkest randomly around some Whisper White card stock. This almost gives the effect of Bokeh!

Birthday Cupcake Card

I used the Cupcake Builder punch with the 2014-2016 In Colours Backgrounds DSP, then Strawberry Slush card for the cherry and sprinkles.

I added some chevron ribbon before adding the embellishment with dimensionals.

Birthday Cupcake Card

I added the sentiment from the Sassy Salutations Stamp Set in Blackberry Bliss.

Birthday Cupcake Card

I think this is a very sweet little card and I am loving the stars background. I know I will definitely be creating more of these!

This background is very cheap and easy to create, why don’t you give it a go too.

Please leave a comment below, what you think of my card.

PS I was the winner at JAI for this card!!!

World Card Making Day

Hello Crafters,

Today being World Card Making Day, I’m excited to bring you a blog hop with some of the awesome ladies in our Stampin’ Up! Art With Heart Team and our focus is GIVING.

There is nothing better than checking the mailbox and there is some happy mail from the postie!!! I hesitate and almost cringe wondering what bills are going to face me from the mailbox, but to find some happy mail instead is an absolute bonus, and better still, when it has been handmade by someone who is thinking about you, makes it even more special!

So, let’s share some happy mail cards that I am going to send out to some wonderful people this week ~ get ready to stalk that postie in case you are the lucky recipient!!!!

I also just want to add that I have a great time sharing what I love, and Stampin’ Up!’s Statement of the Heart is To love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments…. in this we make a difference! I just love that and I think it sends a message to all of us who love to be creative.

Now let’s get started and see what you can make with some of Stampin’ Up!s amazing products from the Holiday and Annual catalogues.

A6 Card Box Chevron Petite Purse

The envelopes are stamped in Crumb Cake ink with I Love Lace down the left hand side.

Now for the card:

I Love Lace

I started with Island Indigo card stock, layered with a strip of Rich Razzleberry Core’dininations card stock. I took a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and cut it to the same length of the card and used the Chevron Border punch along one edge. I trimmed it so it has a 1/8″ border on each edge. I repeated this so I have two strips. I then turned one around and intertwined them (as shown).

Chevron Punch     Chevron Punch

I took a piece of Whisper White card and stamped it with the I Love Lace stamp using Versamark and then applied gold embossing powder and heat set it. Once touch dry, I punched the flowers using the Petite Petals and Itty Bitty Accents flower punches. I sponged the edges with the coordinating ink pads.

I Love Lace     I Love Lace

The leaves were die cut from the Flower Fair Framelits!

I added the flowers, leaves , sequins and twine with glue dots. The sentiment is from the Good Greetings Stamp set, a FREE Hostess item with any order (workshop or party) to the value of $300 as well as the Hostess dollars earned.

Don’t forget to decorate the inside of the card also. It doesn’t need to be fancy, but see how I added a little of the I Love Lace along the bottom? It just ties all the elements together!!!!!

I Love Lace

Would you like to see more? Yes?

Petite Purse     Petite Purse

I used the Petite Purse die to cut out an Island Indigo purse, then used Versamark ink and the I Love Lace stamp, before covering with gold embossing powder and heat setting. I attached the handle with gold brads and the petal in the same way.

Well here is another small project, an A6 card box!

IMG_5305

although this time, I made a box for the cards to go in to. This would make a quick and easy gift, along with a few cards to give to someone.

A6 Card Box

I started with an A4 piece of card and trimmed it to 29.7 x 20cm. I scored the short side at 2cm, then rotate to the long edge and score at 2, 14, 16, 28cm. Along the bottom edge (shown above), cut up each of the scorelines to the 2cm line.  I used the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch to create the 1/2 circle at the top.

Here is a close up of the decorating (same techniques as the card)!

I cannot tell you just how much I love these colours together!!!!
