Blog Hop: Mother’s Day Inspiration

Dear Crafters,

AWHT Logo-001

Today I bring you another AWHT blog hop with some of the awesome ladies in the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team. Today our focus is on Mother’s Day!

You have come to my blog from the lovely, Judy May.

Now let’s get started!

Because our focus is on Mother’s Day, I cannot go past flowers! What mum doesn’t love flowers, I know I sure do 🙂

For my project, I have used the Flower Shop Bundle and the Petite Petals Bundle.

Flower Shop

I have used Rose Red as my card base. I die cut the circles using the Circles Framelits on the front of the card. I used two sizes and placed them onto the Magnetic Platform so they stay still and don’t move.

IMG_1327

Next I punched out two 1″ circle punches and added 2 dimensionals as shown, before putting the second circle on top!

IMG_1329  IMG_1332

Stamp the flowers on the front of the card, then turn it over and add dimensionals (doubled up). Add some ribbon around the bottom of the card between the dimensionals and tie in a knot at the front left hand side of the card. Take the paper off the dimensionals and attach it to the front of the card base.

IMG_1333

Place the small circles under the inner edge of the framelit as shown below.

IMG_1335

Add a 2 dimensionals, doubled up to the back of the centre circle and slide it between the layers of the small circle so that the small circle will now move around the large circles.

IMG_1336

Attach all the extra embellishments with dimensionals.

Flower Shop

Be sure to stamp the inside panel of the card and the envelope for a complete set.

I originally saw a similar idea on Dawn Griffith‘s blog.

Let’s keep this blog hop hopping. Next up we have the lovely, Nikki Sadler.

Six-sided sampler

Dear Crafters,

This Friday is the last day to order your Bonus Bundles for April!

Here they are again if you have forgotten to order them!

Screen Shot Bundles Flyer April 2015

Today I share a card using the Six-sided Sampler Bundle saving you an extra 15%. The bundle is Six-Sided Sampler Stamp Set and the coordinating Hexagon punch.

Six-sided Sampler

The base card is Coastal Cabana with a layer of Crisp Cantaloupe card.

The hexagons are stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding & Basic Gray ink on Whisper White card stock and punched out using the coordinating Hexagon Punch. I covered the White card with a glue stick, then added the punched pieces. The overhanging edges I just cut later with the trimmer.

The greeting was coloured using Stampin’ Write Markers directly onto the stamp and lining them up with the Stamp-a-ma-jig!

Six-sided Sampler

I cut a 3cm strip of gold glitter card and put one end into the Hexagon Punch and pulled it up through the inside (see below) then did the same at the other end!

Hexagon Punch  Hexagon Punch

This was added with dimensionals and the greeting was also added with dimensionals with the addition of some Gold Bakers Twine.

Be sure to decorate the inside panel of your card and even the envelope!

Six-sided Sampler

Here is another one I made using Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Rose Red & Garden Green.

Butterflies, feminine, Handmade Cards

Sheer Perfection Butterfly

Dear Crafters,

Today I share with you a stunning, colourful and bright card with the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum Stack and some Stampin’ Write Markers.

I have used the vellum sheet with the Butterflies, and die cut a banner using the Banner Framelits from it as well as a piece of Whisper White card at the same time. Turn the vellum over and colour with the Brights pack of Stampin’ Write Markers. I adhered the vellum to the white banner using glue dots.

Sheer Perfection Vellum

The base card is Melon Mambo with another layer of Melon Mambo on top. This layer I have sponged the edges with coordinating ink and a sponge dauber, before cutting the 4 corners out.

I then attached some twine by wrapping it around each edge to form a border. Add all the layers with dimensionals.

I added a band of Coastal Cabana card embossed with the Decorative Dots TIEF.

Sheer Perfection Vellum

The sentiment is stamped in Coastal Cabana ink on Whisper White card stock and I cut it out with paper snips. This is added to the card with dimenionals.

How gorgeous is this butterfly vellum coloured from behind? I just love how bright this card is!

Sheer Perfection Vellum

Be sure to decorate the inside panel of your card by stamping a butterfly!

Soft Blooms at JAI

Hello Crafters,

Today I enter a challenge at Just Add Ink. The challenge this week is an Inspiration Challenge JAI#257.

I loved this picture as soon as I saw it, as it has my favourite colours of Crisp Cantaloupe, Very Vanilla and gorgeous soft tones.

I started with a card base of Calypso Coral, then a layer of Crisp Cantaloupe.

Hexagon Stippled Blossom

Today I showcase a card made using the Six-Sided Sampler Bundle which is on sale until 17 May. It is great value and very versatile. I often make masculine cards with this set, but as you can see it can also be quite feminine!

The Six-Sided Sampler Stamp Set and Hexagon Punch can be purchased as a Bundle for a short time only. Until 17 May 2015 you can get this bundle for only $55.16 (clear) or $63.66 (wood).

Six-Sided Sampler Clear-mount Bundle by Stampin' Up!

I stamped each of the four chosen images, six times each, onto Very Vanilla card stock in Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pear Pizzazz & Sahara Sand. Then punched each one out with the Hexagon Punch.

I applied some double sided sticky paper to the Whisper White card stock and peeled off the top layer so the entire piece is sticky. I added the Hexagons so they nudge up against each other to form the background pattern. Once finished, I trimmed the excess from each edge with paper snips.

I stamped the Stippled Blossom blooms in Crisp Cantaloupe and then Calypso Coral, a two step process using my handy Stamp-a-ma-jig!!! I masked the first one and then stamped a second bloom next to it. Then I fussy cut them out using paper snips before adding to the card with dimensionals.

The leaves are punched fom Silver Glitter paper using the Bird Builder Punch.

Hexagon Stippled Blossom

The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments Stamp Set and punched with the Word Window Punch. I poked a small hole on the left hand side and added it to the Crochet Trim with some Linen Thread.

Be sure to decorate the inside panel of your card and even the envelope, it helps tie it all together!

Hexagon Stippled Blossom

I have to say I was very pleased with the outcome of this card!

Please leave a comment below, if you think my card met this challenge.

Why don’t you give a challenge a go, they are so much fun. Head across to the Just Add Ink page for more inspiration and see how the designers interpreted this challenge.

Crazy Ovals

Hello Crafters,

Today I enter a challenge at Just Add Ink. The challenge this week is Just Add Eggs or OvalsJAI#255.

My immediate reaction to this would be Easter Eggs with only 2 weeks until the Easter Bunny arrives, but I was sure many others will head in this direction, so I have done something completely different!

I have never made a Spinning Card, so this was the perfect chance to try it.

Crazy About You

I love this Crazy About You bundle with the coordinating framelits. I wanted something fun so I chose a base card of Coastal Cabana with some Melon Mambo and Whisper White.

First, I cut the 2 ovals together before stamping the flower in coordinating ink. I also did it again on some scrap card and I used the 1-3/4″ scallop circle punch to cut it out.

I punched two circles of cardstock with the 1/2″ circle punch and joined them together with 2 dimensionals, one on top of the other. Glue this to the centre back of the flower. Slide it into the gap between the ovals of the card so it will slide around the oval.

This is the spinning part. Move the large flower around the oval!

Crazy About You

I added the sentiment Bravo and some coordinating candy dots and a rhinestone to the centre of the flower. I used double dimensionals (one on top of the other) to sit the layers up so that the flower will spin easily around the oval.

Be sure to decorate the inside panel of your card and even the envelope. I never send a “nude” envelope!

Crazy About You

This was such a fun card to make and not as difficult as I thought it was going to be!

Please leave a comment below, if you think my card met this challenge.

Sympathy with Sheltering Tree

Dear Crafters,

Today I share some more sympathy cards following my recent posts earlier this month, where I said I would make some in advance to make it easier for when the time comes to send one out to a loved one during their difficult time.

But, this time I have done a more masculine card. You don’t want to be sending a pretty pink one to a male friend, but I will include one of those too!
