Heart of Christmas: Joyous Noel is divine

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop.jpg

Tonight, I am sharing more stunning product from the new Holiday Catalogue, which started today! Be sure to request your own copy of the catalogue.

Joyous Noel Merry Christmas to All Stampin Up Australia by Kate Morgan 2018

I adore this Joyous Noel Designer Series paper with its hints of copper foil, just stunning. My base card is Merry Merlot, embossed with the new Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder. A strip of the Joyous Noel DSP is added to the top and some Merry Merlot & Copper Reversible Ribbon… yes, reversible ribbon, is tied in a loose knot and added. I tied the copper star wire element to the ribbon with a small piece of copper metallic thread so it dangles down.

I embossed the sentiment using Versamark ink and Copper Embossing Powder and heat set it. I die cut it out using the Merry Christmas Thinlits die before dragging the edges across the Versamark ink pad and dipping them in the copper embossing powder. How pretty does it look?!

This stamp set is photopolymer, so they are easy to line up perfectly every time, and look how crisp the sentiment is, just perfect!!!

Merry Christmas to All

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop.jpg

Tonight, I have more sneak peek products from the new Holiday Catalogue, starting on 5th September. I feature the Merry Christmas to All Bundle, a stamp set and the coordinating Merry Christmas Thinlits dies.

You will notice loads of other new product too; the Festive Farmhouse DSP and Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint used on the Christmas die cut… can you see that stunning shimmer?!!! It’s also on the Sprig Punch. I used the AquaPainter to apply the Shimmer Paint directly to the Mossy Meadow cardstock. Such a fun way to add a glittery shine, and while I was punching the sprig, I also punched some from the Champagne Foil to coordinate with the paint.

The Christmas die cut is cut twice, once in Very Vanilla and then in the Mossy Meadow with the Shimmer Paint wash. I slightly offset them when gluing down for the light shadow effect to really make it pop on the dark background.

I coloured the rhinestones with the Darker shade of a Real Red Stampin’ Blends Marker. On the inside of the card, I added two small strips of the same Designer Paper down the left side and stamped the words in the centre. Isn’t it a lovely sentiment and the font is divine! I am so impressed with this bundle, it has so many combinations you can choose.

Heart of Christmas: Dashing Deer

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop.jpg

The Art With Heart Team ladies had so much fun creating Christmas projects for our weekly Heart of Christmas blog hop last year, that we are returning with weekly Chrissy festivities for you! Once a week we will have Christmas inspiration until the end of November.

Today, I am sharing a sneak peek of some of the lovely products in the new Holiday Catalogue, which starts on 5th September.

I’m using the Dashing Deer Bundle; Dashing Deer stamp set and the coordinating Detailed Deer Thinlits dies. Who doesn’t love a Reindeer?!!! I also feature the Dashing Along DSP. You can earn this exclusive Dashing Along Designer Series Paper pack for free (in addition to Stampin’ rewards) when hosting a holiday catalogue event with $400 in sales from 1st – 30th September.

The Swirls & Curls Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is used on the Crumb Cake base card. Three panels; Gold Foil, Cherry Cobbler and the Dashing Along DSP are cut to different lengths with the Banner Triple Punch and layered on each other. The sentiment is stamped with Versamark ink and Gold Embossing Powder applied, then heat set.

The deer being the main feature, had to be sparkly, so I cut it in Gold Glimmer of course!!!

The inside of the card has another sentiment stamped in Cherry Cobbler and the two swirly dies are also part of this same bundle, finishing off the inside nicely.

Merry Christmas! Impossible Gift Box

Dear Crafters,

Merry Christmas to everyone! It may not quite be Christmas Day where you are, but here in Australia it is Christmas morning, my kids are up and going through their Christmas stockings, waiting patiently (haha) for all the adults (we have my inlaws staying here too) to wake so they can open the rest of the presents under the tree! It’s such a magical time of the year ♥

Today I can finally share this little gift box idea inspired by Julie DiMatteo of The Paper Pixie. I made one following Julie’s video tutorial, but it wasn’t tall enough to fit in a gift card, so I played with the measurements and came up with one that was slightly taller, and you know what, I did it!!!

This box is called the Impossible gift box and when you see it, you think, how on earth do you make that? But, once you have made one, you will be quite surprise and fall in love with it too!

So, the one on the right is using Julie’s measurements, and the one on the left are my altered measurements!

I wrote the names of my niece’s on the letter held by the pandas, so no need for additional gift tags!!! Winning!!!!

What I love most about these boxes, is that the lid isn’t a separate piece which can get lost. It is all in one and you lift the top of the box to open it and fill it up. See the pictures below as to the mechanism of how it opens, just so clever! I was able to fit a gift card, lip gloss and some Christmas chocolates into each one before closing it up again.

Unfortunately, I cannot supply a full list of product used, as many are retired and this is the perfect time to use them up when making Christmas gifts, however, the Panda stamp set is going to be available from 3rd January as one of the Sale-a-bration stamp sets, along with the Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper used on that same project! The Lemon Lime Twist ribbon will also be available on 3rd January in the Occasions catalogue!

Be sure to download a copy of the Occasions catalogue and the Sale-a-bration brochure on my SU Catalogue Library page on 3rd January 2018.

Click here to watch how Julie made her impossible gift box!

My measurements for the taller box are:
Base card 9” x 8¼”
Score on 9” side at 2”, 6”, 7”, 8”
Score on 8¼” side at 2”, 4”, 6”, 8”

Christmas Star Gift Box

Dear Crafters,

Today I have the cutest little gift box in the shape of a Christmas Star! But you could use it for any occasion really. I have used the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper.

This box doesn’t even require any glue to hold it together, it is such a clever project and is actually much easier than it looks!

I got the inspiration for this from a lady in the USA, Julie DiMatteo of The Paper Pixie. She has some amazing tutorials for the most stunning projects and I happened to catch this one as she was doing a live video and immediately got crafting to make one before I forgot the measurements. You too can watch her video by clicking on her name above.

Whoa, 5 days til Santa arrives…. have you been good? Do you have a Stampin’ Up! Gift Certificate on your list like me?!!!! You can order one by clicking the image below!

Rustic Christmas

Dear Crafters,

Today I continue my Christmas inspiration from the Holiday catalogue using the Musical Season Bundle and the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper.

I wanted to do a more rustic Christmas card, but still using some traditional colours for Christmas. I have gone with Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake!

Christmas card using Stampin Ups Musical Season Bundle & Merry Music DSP by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia. DIY

I love how this sentiment stamped in the Black Memento ink looks with the stamped off Cherry Cobbler Lyre behind! I sponged the edges of this piece with a sponge dauber and crumb cake ink to soften the edges. It is mounted up on Cherry Cobbler card with the ribbon running between them.

Again, I couldn’t leave the little drummer boy off the card, so I stamped him on the inside and on the envelope!

Peace on Earth

Dear Crafters,

Whoa, can you believe it’s only 10 days until Christmas?!!!!

On Monday I shared some quick and easy Christmas cards, and this is another one using similar products, but instead I’m using the Carols of Christmas stamp set.

Some glimmer paper is added a a banner behind the sentiment for some Christmas sparkle and the enamel embellishments are actually left over from last years catalogue, but are the perfect accents.

The inside of the card is stamped with the sentiment from the Star of Light stamp set. A strip of Silver glimmer paper is added at the bottom.

It’s a Musical Season this Christmas

Dear Crafters,

Today I have some more Christmas inspiration for you from the Holiday catalogue using the Musical Season Bundle and the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper.

I just adore this little drummer boy and the instruments die cut with silver foil are just perfect. I added some ribbon across both corners, almost like wrapping a present!

I love how this sentiment stamped in the rich Cherry Cobbler looks with the stamped off Smoky Slate Lyre behind! I stamped this same thing on the inside of both these cards.

The washi tape and the ribbon are both retired, but you can swap them for any other coordinating products you may have in your stash!

Quick cards so close to Christmas!

Dear Crafters,

Who can believe it is already mid-December? Not me and I am not ready for Christmas to  be here just yet. So I still want to share some of my quick and easy cards for those who still haven’t had time to make them. I’m using the Quilted Christmas DSP and the Merry Little Labels stamp set.

These cards are basic cutting, stamping and layering.

Heart of Christmas Stampin Up Art with Heart Team Christmas Inspiration

Hello Friends,

Welcome to Week 27 of The Heart of Christmas: Handmade Inspiration from the Art with Heart team! This is our final post of Christmas Inspiration for the Heart of Christmas. I hope you have enjoyed my projects each Wednesday for the past 27 weeks! It sure was fun and a great way to build up my stash of Christmas cards. Now to write in them all and post them off with my yearly newsletter!

My project today focuses on the At Home with You stamp set and coordinating framelits.

Christmas Card using Stampin Up At Home with You by Kate Morgan, Independent Demonstrator, Australia

I embossed the crumb cake card with the Brick Wall TIEF and then used a sponge dauber with coordinating ink to give the wall some texture. I added a small piece of Basic gray cardstock to the bottom to look like pavement. I think it worked really well. The door is stamped with Black Memento ink onto Cherry Cobbler cardstock and die cut.

The pot plants are coloured with the new Stampin’ Blends Markers.

On the inside of the card I added a small piece of the Year of Cheer Specialty Washi tape with another pot plant image.

I love these cute little Boxwood Wreath embellishments and the Cherry Cobbler Double Stitched ribbon, tied in a bow, to finish it off.
