CCBH Bermuda Bay – Stained Glass Technique

CCS Logo 2021-22

Each week some of the Art With Heart team are joining the Colour Creations Blog Hop to bring you creative inspiration to showcase our range of 50+ gorgeous Stampin’ Up! colours.

A blog hop, also known as blog hopping, is to move from one blog to another, continuing in a full circle to read all the posts by participants in the hop. At the end of each post will be a link to continue to the next blog!

Week 4 – Bermuda Bay

Both my cards today use the same colour combination but using different products!

Colour Combination - Bermuda Bay

Card 1 – This single layer card ins just stamping and a little bling, as you always need a little bling! This card uses the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set and the Biggest Wish stamp set for the sentiment.

The images are stamped onto Basic White card layer. Once I finished stamping, I ran the edges of the card along the Night of Navy inkpad for an instant border. Glue this to the card base then finish off with some 2021-2023 In Color Jewels.

Card 2 – I had a go at a Stained Glass Window Technique – simply using alcohol markers (Stampin’ Blends) to colour the back of the window sheet that has been stamped on the front with Stazon Black ink with the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set! The card base has been embossed with the Stitched Greenery die.

The frame is die cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies a few times and gluing them together for some depth. Then using some Foam Adhesive Strips to add space from the Shimmery White card behind.

I love how it creates this shadowy effect.

  1. Both cards are really lovely Kate, I love that added night of navy around the edge of the first card, that just gives that added depth on a gorgeous card. I LOOOVE the butterflies but you know that already. The technique is fantastic I need to give it a go and I love how you have it popped up and the colour combination that you used. GORGEOUS!

  2. Two fun cards Kate! You’re really inspiring me with these creations. I wish I could find my window sheet, it’s not where it is supposed to live. I’d try the technique if I could find it.
