Week 3 – Starry Sky
Tonight we showcase our third of the new 2022-2024 In Colors, Starry Sky!
I have created a Masculine card using the Brewed For You Bundle. Starting with a Starry Sky card base, dry embossed with the Timeworn 3D Embossing Folder. A strip of the plaid pattern InColor 6×6 DSP is added to the left. Another dotty piece is die cut with the Dots & Spots die and then layered onto a piece of Very Vanilla card, cut slightly smaller and adhered to the back. Isn’t that a cool effect?!!
The glasses are stamped in Starry Sky and Mango Melody inks. and die cut. The one on the left is a mirror image of the same stamp as the right, using the Reverse stamping/Mirror stamping technique. How did I do that?
I used my Stamparatus and placed the Silicone Mat inside and placed the stamp on the acrylic plate. I inked the stamp and pressed down on the Silicone Mat, repeating this 3 times to get enough ink transferred, then place a piece of Basic White cardstock on top of the Silicone Mat and close the Stamparatus. This will also leave the stamped image so you know where to place the die to cut out the image. Once you run it through the Cut & Emboss machine, turn it over and you will have a perfect reverse stamped image!!! I added Wink of Stella over the Mango Melody ink.
The sentiment is stamped onto Basic White card and cut out using the banner from the Stylish Shapes dies. All the stamped elements are popped up on Dimensionals.
I added some InColor Matte Decorative Dots to finish off the front of the card.
On the inside, I glued a strip of both Designer Papers and stamped another glass, but this time I used the embossed die (Basic White card) for the beer and coloured it with Mango Melody ink using my blending brush. This was die cut and glued to the card.
Have you tried the Reverse stamping or mirror stamping technique?

I love how you have used the dsp on your card! Thank you for the reverse stamping tips, I’m always worried I’ll get it wrong, but your tip about leaving the stamp on the stamparatus so you know where the die is to go…genius!

Yes, that dotty DSP looks fantastic die-cut and matted on Very Vanilla card, Kate – so clever! Love your design, and the mirrored beer glasses. This is a great card. I think Starry Sky is an awesome colour for masculine cards.

A very clever masculine card Kate. I have never tried mirror stamping but you have inspired me to give it a go. It really gives the impression that the glasses are ‘clinking.’ Cheers to your great card.
