Bouncing Brayer

Hello Crafters,

This week, I got out my brayer to have a play with some background colour.

I think they call this the bouncing brayer technique, although I need lots more practice at it!!! lol

I inked up the brayer with the lighter colour first, then each of the other colours from lightest to darkest, boucing the brayer around the card to create this effect. Glue it onto a piece of Tangerine Tango cardstock, then onto a Rich Razzleberry card base.

I used my Big Shot machine to die cut a floral framelit in Rich Razzleberry card stock and adhered it to the centre of the card.

I punched 5 circles from the Tangerine Tango card stock. Using the paper snips I cut into the centre of each one, then put a glue dot on one tip where I cut in from and pulled the other side over the top of the glue dot. This formed the shape of each petal. I used glue dots to put it together before adding a Very Vintage Designer button with a piece of twine tied in a knot.

Here is a close up!

JAI#201 – Colour Challenge

Hello Crafters,

This week at Just Add Ink is a colour challenge by Kim.

This certainly was a bit of a challenge for me ~ I don’t have anything Sahara Sand apart from one A4 piece of card stock and only the Ink Pad in Island Indigo, but I have managed to pull something together!

JAI#201

In our home, we don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day although our 7 year old is asking what it’s all about. Therefore, I thought I might just create a card with a bit of a love theme!!!  I love the Hearts a Flutter stamp set and coordinating framelits.

This is a simple card, but effective in what the message brings!

I drew the line with a blank pen and before adhering the banners with Tombo glue and the Hearts with dimensions so they stand out a bit further.

Why don’t you have a go at some of the weekly challenges too on the Just Add Ink page!

High Heel Shoe Card

Hello Crafters,

Today I have a different type of card for that special lady or friend in your life who may have a shoe fetish. Wouldn’t she love this card!

High Heel Shoe Card

I started off my drawing a shoe shape and cut it out in black card. The base of the card is a piece of white cardstock folded in half and then cut around the black template, so that the fold is on the heel side, as this is how the card opens.

The patterned paper is a retired piece of DSP which I thought was just perfect for this project. It is called Print Poetry DSP and can be found in the Clearance Rack in my online store!

This was a fun card to make, but a bit of mucking around initially to get the correct shape I wanted.

What do you think of this card? I am sure you would know someone who would adore this style of card!

JAI#200 ~ Summer Flowers

Hello Crafters,

This week at Just Add Ink is the challenge using the beautiful inspiration picture by Nikki.

This just yells summer to me with gorgeous yellows, greens & whites!

JAI#200

I don’t have anything so daisy like, but I love the Secret Garden stamp set and coordinating framelits. Initially I stamped the flowers in daffodil delight, but it didn’t have enough interest, so I used the technique called Kissing. To do this, you ink up the flower stamp with the Daffodil Delight ink, then ink up another stamp with Tangerine Tango ink. Press (KISS) the 2 stamps together before stamping the flower onto the white cardstock. Don’t you agree it gives more interest?

Here is a closer look!

JAI#200

Are you wondering how I created the background? I thought you may. I used the Simply Scored Tool and scored the crosshatch pattern. Then did the same on another scrap piece of card and cut part of it away to create a diamond template (see below). Line the template up on your cardstock and using a sponge dauber, sponge the ink in the bottom of each diamond!

JAI#200

I love this summery style although I am not so good in the heat. Is anyone else suffering with these days over 30 degrees? I like to hibernate and stay inside with the cooler on…. maybe it’s just my excuse to stay home and stamp!!!

Why don’t you have a go and some of the weekly challenges too on the Just Add Ink page!

Isn’t it cute?!!!!

I used the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper to decorate it.

Paper Mug

It is even strong enough to hold pens and scissors, just a pity it doesn’t hold my coffee!!!! hehe

If anyone is interested in how this is made, I will be putting together some instructions soon.

Just leave a comment so I know who would like them!

Card in a Box Style, feminine, Owl Punch

Explosion Box Card

Morning Stampers,

I want to share with you today, a card that a fellow demonstrator showed us last weekend ~ an explosion box card!

How cool are these?

I am loving this new card style and can see myself creating lots of them over the coming months.

This first one we made for my hubby’s birthday last Wednesday and he was super impressed when he pulled it out of the envelope…. yes you heard right, it folds flat and fits in an envelope!!!!

And you see those little monsters popping up out of the box, they are made with the owl punch!

Explosion Box Card

This next card I made for a dear friend of mine who lives in Tasmania and is a very talented lady, especially with her photography. I couldn’t send her any old card, so I thought she would appreciate something a little more special. I have used the Flower Shop Stamp Set and coordinating Pansy punch and the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and coordinating punches (Bitty & Elegant Butterfly) to create this one.

Explosion Box Card

I have had some interest in how these are made and so I am willing to do a class to show you just how quick and easy these are to make. If you would like to come along to a class, please comment below what day and times best suit.

This will blow your mind what can be made with the Festive Flurry Stamp Set from the Holiday Catalogue.

My poor husband lives in a household with three girls, so you can imagine our Christmas tree…. yep, pink and silver baubles and butterflies!

So just to add to what we already have, I created this Christmas decoration for our 2013 tree.
